oooh 1 and 11 for the horror fic with Lup and Taako ! :3
Ooh!! I never get to talk about this one :3 I worked really hard on it too, and not a lot of people saw it so I'm just gonna sliiiiide a link right here <3
Also, anyone can send in a question about a fic from these questions here or just other questions in general! I like talking about my fics and never know how to shut up lol
What inspired you to write the fic this way?
So this was back when I first started getting back into writing and had virtually no following of anyone who consistently read my stuff or sent me prompts. Actually, I think at the time of writing it, I may have not even reblogged a prompt list yet. It's hard to say because this was obviously before I got an ao3 account, and when I tried to upload all of the fics I had written by the time I did get an account, somehow the publish date on some of them got mixed up and was set for the day after I actually published them?? And I didn't know how to fix it, so I no longer know the order in which I wrote everything. That's neither here nor there though. Point is, I used a prompt from a pdf of a prompt book I got in an online writing bundle called Roll-A-Prompt Writing Journal Box Set, box set meaning that it had prompts for horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. I used that book a lot in the beginning because it's a really fun book to use the few times I used it. Basically you pick a set of prompts from any of the three genres, and the prompts are ordered in three different aspects of the prompt (in this case, it was character, mood, and word, but there are other options depending on the prompt set you choose), and each aspect has a list of six options. Then you roll a d6 for each aspect, and you generate a prompt by combining the three different options you rolled. Like the monster factory from Wonderland! lol Only, I took it up a level and rolled a d4 to determine what genre I was going to do (usually I use it as a d2 to pick between sci-fi and fantasy), and then I roll a d100 to pick what prompt set I use because there's thirty prompt sets in each genre. I just used this roll as leaving it as is if it landed on 1-30, then if it was 31-60, I would just subtract 30, and if it was 61-90, I would subtract 60, and if it was 91-100, I would just reroll. Then I count that many numbers down starting from the top of the chapter until I got to the right prompt set.
If anyone is interested, I could share it! It is a pdf though, so I think I'd have to send it through email because I don't think that's something I can just share elsewhere.
Anyway, I felt like throwing in a little extra, why not? that day when I decided to roll up another prompt and added horror as an option to my d4 roll, and I ended up getting that, so that's what I went with lol I am definitely not a horror person though and know very little about the genre, and I'm unwilling to do anything too gory or gross. The most I can handle with horror is creepy and abstract concepts of other horrific events, and the top thing that came to mind that day that I thought I could pull off was someone torturing students to bring back an old dead god. So I looked up wheel torture methods because I couldn't remember exactly what the torture device I had in mind was called or did, it was the wheel thing that like, you get tied to on the side and it's supposed to stretch your body apart? Idk, it's the torture method that always stuck out most to me besides quartering, and there was no way in hell I was writing that. I get uncomfortable even rolling that idea in my head and have to try really hard to not picture it every time I remember it exists. Anyway, so I looked up wheel torture methods, and the only thing I could find was the wheel that is called a female name that starts with a c then wheel? Cathie's wheel? Cassandra's wheel? idk I don't want to look it up. Last time I looked it up (to write this fic), I literally gave myself nightmares, and I already watched a fucked up movie today. It's past 11pm and I have to be somewhere at 1pm tomorrow, so I have to go to bed soon, but the grossest part of the movie I watched is still playing in my head and aaaahhhhh
So yeah, that's why I went with a hopefully more creepy vibe for most of it (also to build up tension), and I used physical descriptors of the dead bodies in the wheels very sparingly. Probably not the most immersive experience, but hey, I'm not a horror writer usually lol
Anyway, so I needed characters to be in this scenario, and I thought doing a sibling bonding moment would be cool, and it definitely seemed like the kind of weird shit that would happen in Taako and Lup's lives pre-stolen century. Also, it gave me an excuse to end the story with Taako saying he'd always find Lup >:3
I was really proud of how it turned out when I wrote it, and I suppose I'm still proud of it because it's something I wouldn't normally do, and I do feel like it's okay. But I can definitely tell I grew in my writing capabilities since then, and honestly, the twin interactions after Lup gets kidnapped is so cringey lol 🤦🏽‍♂️ I was so worried about trying to make sure that I didn't portray either of them as weak or like a damsel in distress, especially Lup, that I didn't just let her need to be saved. I wanted to show that I still think of her as a badass who can take care of herself, especially because I was really worried about the weak woman trope or whatever, that I didn't let her just need help. I honestly thought about switching the roles, but Lup just seemed like the one to pick up on something being wrong first while Taako got distracted by how hot the professor was than it being the other way around, and of course the person who picks up on it first has to get kidnapped lol
Anyway, I've rambled on about that long enough sldgkhsldaghd
11. What do you like best about this fic?
Honestly, the part where Taako gets hit with Phantasmal Killer. It was interesting figuring out what exactly would be his number one nightmare that Keth could conjure up, and between having an inconsistent childhood where either the twins left places for their own safety or people left them and them only having each other, having Lup being the one to yell at him, blame him for fucking up a great opportunity, and then leaving him would probably be something major psychic damage worthy lol I also really like how I wrote that confrontation in his mind in general, though I feel like I could do it way better now
It's just a perfect way to spin the situation on its head you see, and fuck the both of them up just a little bit <3

1. Little Carping introduction
This post originally appeared on tflc: https://littlecarping.com/mybb/showthread.php?tid=33
Tumblr media
So I thought I might post something about my main neighbourhood, Little Carping.  I'm not sure my stories and ideas would be that attractive to others since playing the game my way is a pretty personal thing for me.  I have my particular obsessions and interests and simply won't consider any other way of doing things.  I'm aware I don't do things like other people but then again, what's attractive about the game is the enormous possibilities.  That's why it's still going strong 18 years after its release.  The bottom line is I just like fiddling about with stuff: stories and ideas (not to mention the CC I make).  Also, perhaps I should warn you all before we start that my sims are not always pleasant individuals. That sometimes seems to be an issue.  I like drama.  Lots of it. On the other hand, the idea of making a thread about Little Carping is attractive to me. This is because I have a love of documenting and recording stuff and the notion of using this forum to do that with Little Carping – a project of 15 years now – is enticing.  I guess we’ll see how this works as we progress but the next posts will give an outline of Little Carping’s concept and history, its geography and built environment (I got that phrase from one of my students) and then the families who live there.  These posts are going to be long - and I don't blame anyone for not wanting to read through them all.  Remember, I'm mostly indulging myself here.  I'll post pictures though. 15 years?  Yeah that’s right.  I started Little Carping the month the game was released in 2004 and I’ve been playing it ever since.  Though actually, that sounds more impressive than it is.  I haven’t played with the sims in Little Carping on a regular basis for quite some time now.  I do go back every now and again and progress a story here and there but regular play has not happened for several years.  Progress, therefore, is VERY SLOW.  BTW, although I’ve been playing Little Carping since 2004 (when it was called, unoriginally, Great Bay), I rebuilt the neighbourhood in 2007 and so the files for Little Carping are only 12 years old (only - LOL!).  I rebuilt it when we first started to learn about corruption of neighbourhoods and how you could build them with empty templates.  The current version of Little Carping, therefore, started with no townies or NPCs though it has acquired them since – I made them all myself!  The main characters though were rebuilt in 2007 from scratch – it’s when I learnt a lot about how to clone sims, create empty neighbourhoods and edit memories (and other stuff) in SimPE.   So I say I still 'play’ the game and, if I’m not playing with my sims, what am I doing?  Well, my main interests are two-fold.  In the first instance, I like making things and fiddling with game settings.  I have uploaded some CC for others to download and use, here on this site (and elsewhere), but the amount of stuff I’ve made for the game (for my own use) is much, much more than that.  There's piles of it.  I particularly like fiddling with hacks and mods, usually just adjusting BCons or BHavs and I’m known to hacks/mod stuff myself from scratch.  Though for most things I want, someone else has had a go at it long ago so I will use that (with edits).  Having said that, I think I have edited, in some way or another, practically every CC file in my game – well maybe not everything but a lot of stuff.  I change catalogue settings as a matter of routine and will do things like replace base textures in objects if I don’t particularly like the original, slave stuff and so on.  I also fiddle about with meshes and textures though I will say here what I’ve said elsewhere, that I’m not a natural skinner or texture maker.  I can do crude stuff but nothing like the subtle stuff some people do (which I admire immensely).  Secondly, a favourite thing for me is trying to create a sense of place for Little Carping.  This is a long term project and there have been several phases already.  Basically what I mean is remodelling the neighbourhood.  I’ve been fiddling with the current version for a couple of years but I think I have decided to have another complete overhaul, especially in the light of some of the newer neighbourhood objects and graphical improvements we’ve seen lately – but more on that later.   You might say that neither of those two things is playing with the game but I would disagree with that.  I’m playing with the game as an object in its own right here rather than playing sims.  Maybe you don’t agree but I keep myself occupied doing this.  People do play in different ways – some people play sims and families, some people like to build, some people like to create neighbourhoods, some people like to make meshes and textures – I like to do all of those things but I like to play with the game as well.  If that makes sense.  TS2 is a wonderful thing really.  Will Wright said he created it as a toy rather than a game and he did – but it’s perhaps more of a toy than even he thought it was. The picture is of Little Carping as it is now.  Little Carping has a shopping district, Carping Magna, and Sirencester, the downtown.  There are also two universities attached to Little Carping (Redbrick and Metropolitan) and three vacation destinations (Noboku, Yellerstone and St Neots).  I have no idea how many lots there are but the vast majority are custom built, either by me or are something I downloaded.  There are 489 sims in Little Carping, 173 of which are playable in 40 families (at present – that does change fairly regularly) with 27 cats and dogs (200 playable sims and 286 NPCs (I know that doesn't add up).  At the time of starting this series of posts, it is 6am on Saturday the third day in Summer – how do I know?  I play in strict rotation and everybody is at the same point in the year, plus I religiously save at 6am in the morning.  It’s always 6am in Little Carping. NB I've posted a version of some of these first few posts before and there's some copy-pasta going on. Just so you know.

Same Difference Ch. 13
A/N: sorry for the late upload for anyone following, I’ve been pretty lax on uploading on here bc of the low interaction with these posts (I think like 3 people read this, maybe lol). But I’m going to try and upload them here just in case.

 “We need to talk. Now.”
“Yes. That’s why we’re on the phone.”
“We don’t have time for games today. You need to come to the base immediately.”
She’d recognize that “not now, Nanami” tone anywhere. Whatever it was, it was serious. Switching gears mentally to brace for the impending shitstorm, she exhaled,” Give me 30 minutes.”
“20.”
“What? That’s not even realisti—” she stopped, hearing the phone click. Rolling her eyes, she watched her friend exit the post office and walk over to the car.
“So, I say we go to that new brunch place first and then—wait what’s wrong?” Hitomi pivoted recognizing her friend was much less enthused than when she’d left. Nanami turned to her, an apologetic look on her face. “The hospital has you on-call again, huh?”
“Duty calls, sadly.” She felt bad about lying, but knew she’d feel worse if Hitomi got caught up in her mess. “Though I don’t know how long it’ll take so we might be able to salvage the day.”
“No, it’s ok, I understand. Take your time, we can always hang tomorrow or later in the week. When do you need to be there?”
“… in 20 minutes.”
“That’s unrealistic.”
“That’s what I tried to tell hi—I mean them, but it’s an emergency. Mind dropping me off at my house?”
“You got it. I’ll drive, you watch for cops.” Before Nanami could protest, Hitomi screeched out of the parking lot and back down the road they came.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Waving bye to her friend, Nanami hurriedly grabbed her keys and work bag just in case the talk carried over to lab work. Running down to her car, she sped over to the base, basically rolling out of the car when she arrived as there were only 5 minutes to spare. Hearing a noise, she reflexively turned to look but continued running forward. Suddenly she felt herself run into a solid figure as she bounced back, falling onto her soon-to-be-late keester. Regaining her bearings, she looked up and saw an older gentleman in traditional attire, his hair slicked back and his face serious.
“Oh my gosh I am so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going,” she apologized, giving him an earnest look.
He paused for a beat before giving her a kind smile, offering his hand to help her up, “That’s alright miss, no need to apologize. Where are you off to in such a hurry anyway?”
Crap, how do I get out of this one… she strategized inwardly on how to answer the question discreetly without sounding rude. “Oh nowhere, I just have to… make a house call! I’m a doctor, and my patient’s a massive germaphobe; very needy, you see.” She laughed awkwardly, hoping he bought it.
At her last comment, she could’ve sworn she saw a look of recognition flash across his face, but figured it was her imagination. “Oh, I see. Well he’s a lucky man to have you. As such an attentive caretaker, I mean. I won’t hold you up any longer, have a nice day Dr… what did you say your name was?”
“I didn’t.” She smiled, “You have a nice day too!” She said as she continued her jog to the base. She looked back to see him waving, returning it as she rounded the corner. Well that was close.
Once at the front gate, the door opened before she knocked, an irritated Overhaul waiting on the other side. “What took you so long. I said 20.”
“And I was going to say that was unrealistic before you rudely hung up on me. Besides, I would’ve actually gotten here on time if not for your friendly neighbors. I don’t know how the HOA of this neighborhood decided to let you of all people in. Everyone else seems so nice.” She pouted.
“What are you rambling about?”
“Your neighbor? I ran into an old man outside—I didn’t tell him where I was going or why I was here, obviously—but he seemed nice, if not a tad nosey.”
At this she saw him pause, “… What did he say to you?” The question much meeker than the last.
“Uhm, I bumped into him by accident, so he just asked where I was going, told me to have a nice day... oh! Also, how lucky you are to have me. You know, obvious stuff.” His brows raised before she quickly clarified the last statement, “As a doctor! I told him I was your doctor. He was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing.”
Though he donned his usual mask, she could tell his features had softened at whatever he was thinking. She’d even bet there was a small smile forming, but at what she wasn’t sure, “Hm, I see. Well, there’s no use in loitering around, let’s go.”
“Well you’re the one that stopped but ok” she said under her breath. He turned, giving her a warning look as she shrugged, raising her hands in faux surrender.
They continued down the usual pathway in the underground base before reaching his office and passing it, going down a hallway she wasn’t familiar with. It gradually became much darker the further they went, and the air temperature felt as though it had dropped at least 10 degrees, almost causing her to shiver. After what felt like an indefinite amount of time they arrived at a door, but before Overhaul could reach the handle, it opened, a panicked Kurono standing in the doorway.
“He had a pill.”
Looking past him, Nanami could see the assailant from the night before. Though he was savagely beaten, it was apparent he’d killed himself with whatever pill was hidden in his mouth as foam was formed around it, his body still going through its final convulsions. Working in a large hospital, she’d seen her fair share of people dying, but to say it got any easier would be a half-truth. The vision was familiar, but it was still unpleasant, no matter who it was. In contrast, Overhaul seemed irritated for a second before realizing something and returning to his stoic expression.
“No matter, we got all we needed from him anyway. Follow me,” he directed at her as he left the room and Kurono to dispose of the body. Nanami somberly followed, mentally giving the man a moment of silence. Whatever happened, she knew the importance of remaining objective in the presence of death. There might come a time when she’d make some bad decisions herself—to put it ever so lightly— and she hoped whoever was there in her last moments wouldn’t relish in her death either. They arrived at the door of his office, the clicking of the handle rousing her from her thoughts. He sat down across from her on one couch as she sat on the other, now feeling a bit out of place in her casual attire.
“It seems you have a price on your head.”
“Hm?” Nanami squeaked, her face that of disbelief.
“The lackeys that tried to take you were sent by the head of the Okumura clan, a rival organization. He seems sure you have a unique ability and learning of our partnership only seemed to confirm this.”
“Bu…But I was so careful. I don’t talk to anyone about us, I take weird routes every time I come here, I always use the burner ph—“ she began frantically before he cut in.
“You were not at fault for this. One of the new recruits was abducted. He didn’t know much, but he gave enough information to pique their interest.”
“And what happened to him?”
He was surprised at the question, but answered anyway, “He was set free after the questioning.”
“Well where is he now? Maybe he can tell us something useful about them and what else they want.”
“He’s no longer with us.”
“… Like he quit?”
“…”
“Overhaul.”
“… As I said, he’s no longer with us.” They stared at each other, Nanami now knowing the “snitches get stitches” saying to be only half true. Something tells me stiches wouldn’t help him now… She sighed, his blank expression unwavering as he continued, “Also, there is no ‘us’ when it comes to you and I and the Okumura. You will stay here until this problem is solved.”
“I’m gonna do what now?”
“You heard me. Your apartment is no longer safe. Considering they probably expected to see their men return last night with you captured, they will undoubtedly send more to finish the job.”
She opened her mouth to speak before closing it again. She knew it wasn’t safe to stay at her place, but staying at the base was just a lot, especially if her assumption about not being able to leave was correct. “Ok, but I have work and a life. Am I just supposed to hide here and put all that on hold?”
“Would you rather put it on hold or have it all end?”
“…That’s not fair.”
“Most things aren’t.”
She shifted in her seat biting her lip, realizing she was losing the argument. Every counter she came up with she mentally shot down before speaking it. I could stay at Hitomi’s house? No, they’d just follow me there and attack her too, or worse… I could stay at home and defend my place? Except they wouldn’t stop coming. My place would be trashed and then the neighbors would find out...I could...
“I could go in myself and get them. It’s my head they’re after, I’ll just have to convince them it’s not worth the trouble.”
He gave her a pitiable look, knowing the suggestion was equal parts blind bravery and desperation, “Your training with Rappa has made you a capable fighter, but are you really prepared to kill another person, permanently? Dozens of them? Simply maiming them wouldn’t be enough, they’d keep coming until…” He paused as he saw her look down in defeat, her fists clenched in her lap, her jaw tightening. She was angry—mad as hell—but she knew he was right. She was a fighter, not a killer, and no amount of training could change that overnight. She knew the logical solution to the problem, but her nature wouldn’t allow her to solve it. Seated across from her, his head tilted as he gazed at her pensively. Overhaul couldn’t figure out why but seeing her so upset was… unpleasant. He wanted nothing more than to make it stop, though the motivation behind the action remained a mystery. “Dr. Watanabe,” He continued slightly softer than before, her fists unclenching for a moment at the change in tone, “Your strengths lie elsewhere. Strategically, it makes the most sense for you to be here. It will only be for two weeks.”
“Two weeks?” Nanami could tell he was trying, but the frustration with the situation lingered. Attempting to calm herself and accept reality, she finally managed to respond,” Can I at least get my stuff first?”
“Yes, but let’s be quick about it.”
“’Let’s?”
“You didn’t really think you were going alone, did you?”
“No!... Well, yes. Fine, let’s go.”

Cam Sites & Content Platforms
Since a lot of my inbox consists of “where should I cam?” questions as of late, here’s the general rundown of my advice:
1. MyFreeCams (MFC)
I cam off of this site, and have had no real reason to go elsewhere for 6 years. Easy to use, built in stream software from your web browser (as simple as plug in your webcam and hit “broadcast”), has its own content hosting platform called MFC Share that you can easily upload and sell photos, videos and more. Decent traffic (despite people’s complaints lol), perks like convention passes and merch if you decide to attend events. Heavily community based; more expectations on models to spend time socializing and being friendly/girlfriendly. Female-passing only, does not allow couples or trans girls. I’m sure if your ID states that you are female and you are female passing you could swing it, but it’s not an equal opportunity platform unfortunately so you might be swimming an uphill battle if you don’t fit into the binary as well as they require. Models make $0.05 cents per token, or roughly 50% of what members pay (which varies with token package but... whatever get off my dick it’s essentially 50% mk). Models are rated by “camscore” which is essentially hours streamed vs tips made, which can make things challenging for newer models who don’t reach quick success - but it’s not the be all end all. All of the camgirl survival guide is based off of my experience on this site.
2. Chaturbate
Similar to MFC but with a heavier focus on sex performances. Does not have a built in content hosting platform, but does allow men, couples and trans/NB! From what I hear they have more traffic, but not as much in the way of upper tier earnings - but don’t quote me on that because I have no concrete evidence or anything. Many models prefer Chaturbate over MFC because of inclusivity and because Chaturbate doesn’t rank models by “camscore”, making things a little bit less pressurized. Some that have talked to me prefer the more sexual environment because there’s less expectation to sit around and chat for free, and more expectation to quickly work through countdowns to do performances. I have never cammed on Chaturbate personally so my advice is limited, and I’d defer to anyone who actually streams there when it comes to what the community is like.
3. ManyVids
Was once a strictly content hosting platform now offers live streaming, which many models have found good success on. Run by an ex camgirl herself which I think is cool. They seem to always be doing fun themed contests and have interesting payment incentives and stuff which I really wish MFC would do - I’ve never used MV, but it seems like fun tbh.
4. Nood.tv
A fancy, art-hoe aesthetic sorta platform that’s been up and coming for ages due to the fact that one camgirl is making the whole thing herself essentially. It looks cool but it’s not fully functional and I don’t know about traffic/earnings. Not as simple as plug in and hit go - you’ll need to figure out OBS or Xsplit, which means great quality but more of a hassle.
5. OnlyFans
Mostly for content hosting, also newly offering live streaming! I recently started on this platform and I love it. They only take 20% which is nice, it’s essentially like a slut friendly Instagram, and my subscribers are happy with the platform so far. Would strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to start camming but is daunted by the live stream aspect, comfortable with instagram thirst trap style posting, or has a significant following on another app that wishes to monetize at least some of their viewer base. More to come on this.

Tales from Little Carping - introduction
So I thought I might post something about my main neighbourhood, Little Carping.  I'm not sure my stories and ideas would be that attractive to others since playing the game my way is a pretty personal thing for me.  I have my particular obsessions and interests and simply won't consider any other way of doing things.  I'm aware I don't do things like other people but then again, what's attractive about the game is the enormous possibilities.  That's why it's still going strong 15 years after its release.  The bottom line is I just like fiddling about with stuff: stories and ideas (not to mention the CC I make).  Also, perhaps I should warn you all before we start that my sims are not always pleasant individuals. At the time of starting this post, it is 6am on Saturday the third day in Summer – how do I know?  I play in strict rotation and everybody is at the same point in the year, plus I religiously save at 6am in the morning.  It’s always 6am in Little Carping. NB I've posted a version of some of these first few posts before and there's some copy-pasta going on. Just so you know.

I was digging through the few pics that still exist in an old account I have elsewhere and here’s some trash:
Tumblr media
Halo 2 used to be big, eh? And teabagging was so universal and ubiquitous that it had lost all sense of vitriol. Incredible.
~
I was going to post a gif to demonstrate another old internet thing but nope, gross, nope. So description instead:
People found they could make really lengthy (we’re talking minutes long) gifs if the gif was just a slide show, it could be a pretty small file size too which was VITAL back then. So the gif in question was a pretty common one- it’s a teamspeak recreation of WW2 in which every participating person (Hitler, Churchill, etc etc etc etc I’m not talking at length about WW2 today) sorta just, does WW2.
As in it starts by saying “etc joined the game” for each person and then they play through the actual events (I mean, truncated viciously) of WW2 up to its end. But with everyone talking like gamers from back then. Lots of “d00d”s and slurs like the R word or calling each other f*g, it’s very very gross holy shit, but there’s a peek behind the years for anyone who didn’t know-
A “fun gif” to post was a gamer recreation of WW2 where still images of the events and people talk in colored text at each other in a slide show and use “Modern slang”.
Interesting, but not worth posting in my opinion because I had not remotely held onto the memory of what language it contained, holy hell.

Tumblr media
HOW ABOUT A GLIMPSE AT **MY** SPECIFIC INTERNET EXPERIENCES! lol
I desperately wish the date was listed in the bottom right, but I’ll estimate this give me a second....
Holy shit, if that’s from gamma, then this was roughly 10 years ago, and what’s “holy shit” about that is that’s not that long ago in the slightest and yet this is like 10 levels of disconnected from me today.
Anyways- a lot of the internet for me was astroempires, like a LOT of it. The game is... It has potential, and clearly it does well with that potential sometimes- but it’s a spreadsheet space game where people quickly learned how to abuse the numbers (specs, which were my favorite part of the game actually!) and found that playing in a tight knit zerg using calculators for their attacks and using a scout mod that mapped out the servers and uploaded the info to a database and a million other tools that effectively broke the game into a “press 1 to win and make everyone else have no fun” game-
it was messy.
Anyways here’s a poem about someone tanking and getting hit by a blob or gate crash (was it called a gate crash? fuck I forget, I know blobs were what they called it when you swarmed all your guilds fleet on top of one spot- it wasn’t USUALLY used in reference to MOVING said fleets, but it could be- and if this guy got hit by “millions” then it was probably more than one person IE a coordinated attack or just a whole guild blob sending a message- unusual but possible).
I also have this from AE:
Tumblr media
The almighty Win Bomb- made by someone who dedicated 21 fleets (you can only move/have so many individual fleets based on the “computer” research) to drawing a bomb on his galaxy map.
This was often (it was not often posted) posted in response to being told to scout to fill the database, some people didn’t like using auto-scout and this was a fun response in which you say you’re scouting right now! Here’s proof! All my fleets are looking all over for win!
Stepping away from AE because I’d like to, it brings a lot of nostalgia but it’s also just kind of a place where a lot of formative hours of my life disappeared for not a lot of gain- ain’t like I “got good” because “getting good” required abusing tools and being a dick (and being funded by derbs [debris] from your guild, so, you know, that wasn’t me).
Here’s a fun one from a more modern time:
Rock Band 2 had a limited online offer for a time there in which you could get a PHYSICAL figure of your rock band character!
I was HUGE into rock band, we’re talking expert guitar, no life, nonstop playing, I was BIG on that game- and I wanted my character badly and my mom said no because it was like 70 bucks or something (maybe more? can’t remember).
Maybe that’s for the best in a sense. I was a dumb kid and I wanted to make a “loud proud gay guitarist” and that means I went with punk attire and showing as much skin as I could. And then the tats, the fuckin’ tats. I wanted to make a character I thought was cool- and I fuckin’ succeeded, but let’s just say knowing that a straight kid made this colors it a bit differently, doesn’t it?
I’ll admit, this was the age where I was internalizing all kinds of shit- “gay” was an insult, I heard the f slur all the time- so I am glad that my drive was to create a positive character despite that negative homophobia surrounding me- but let’s be quadruple real and say “It had effects” and since I was only just starting to question the things I was told by friends and family- I don’t think Greg would come out the same if I were to design him from scratch today. Maybe he’d be pretty similar since a lot of him I love, but some of the stuff is clearly remnants of bigotry I was birthed and grown in. Or that’s my interpretation when I see his tats or the ‘he’s gotta be showing skin!’ aspects.
Long and short of it is in RB1 I had “Gregohreeey” who was a generic looking goth/metal kind of guy.
In RB2 I named him “Greg” (full name still Gregohreeey, obviously, just not typed out) and he became a creative outlet for me- possibly the OC I put the most work into up to that point. His style evolved, whether I made his look “quiet” or “loud” changed, and by the end of the game he landed squarely on “Loud, proud, gay mother fucker” and I fuckin’ love him.
The green and orange motif? STILL A FAVE!
The hair and hat? HELL YEAH!
The raindrop (Or reverse V strat) guitars? THAT’S GREG!
The tats? I really went and did that, huh.
The attire? Seeing as I was trying to make him as punk as possible my drive wasn’t the worst, but yeah, I assume on some level his attire adds up to “idiot kid makes what he thinks gay looks like” and it’s really not great in that context. I still think it looks punk as hell though and **I** would sport the look, but that’s different to kid me saying “what would look cool on a gay guy?” after being raised by homophobic bullshit.
I will say, I think he’d be one to call himself Gay Greg as his frontal tat declares, he was a hyped up mother fucker and here’s the render I had at that point:
Tumblr media
He has a fucking 8==D penis on his arm for fuck’s sake. And a “:)” on his ass which I don’t believe the render showed.
The gay greg tat almost holds up though.
Even as a reminder of how I stereotyped a lot of things as a kid, the ‘thoughts’ I had surrounding him still make me happy since I had nothing but respect and love for him as my avatar. Just. Man. Looking back on things you said, thought, or did in the past can be difficult.
Tumblr media
Assless chaps and all.

Hi there! :) First I want to make clear that I love your writing SO MUCH (you’re in my top3 best writers list, considering all fandoms), I love all your ships and rarepair (God bless you for the all the EliMaki, KotoMaki, NozoUmi, NozoHono, KotoNico, ecc.), and I also love when you mix Aqours x Muse ships (NozoKanan, NicoRiko, I will pray for EliDia lol). Your writing is neat and involving, whether it’s about adventure, feelings or NSFW <3 But I feel like you tend to mix up “ship moods” when you write many fanfics at the same time, and I must confess sometimes I get a bit confused…? Like, I understand HonoEli is your favorite ship (and you made me love it), but at least LIB started as NozoEli, and you were intentioned to keep the HonoEli platonic, right?  Then ok, you decided to make it HonoEli, and I can totally understand how this happened in the past timeline… But not how romantic feelings suddenly appeared also in the future timeline and spin offs?
Continued and answered under cut….
And while you were in the middle of your HonoEli moment, it somehow influenced also the other fics you were writing at the same time. In ANITW it was supposed do be HonoUmi or HonoChika, and somhow it became HonoEli centric.  Even in Addiction, HonoEli’s friendship had too much spotlight in the last few chapters (in my opinion). Or even the latest uploaded chapter, how you moved PanaNico from LIB to ANITW.  The NicoRiko thing was interesting, why didn’t you go on with it and keep the PanaNico for LIB? It was such a sudden change, I felt like I was reading a different fic.  I wish you could stick to the original plan of the story (like you did for KotoMaki in ANITW), or at least I wish you could make the change of mind smoother (like how the ChikaRiko turned into ChiKanan makes sense and it’s very well written. Even LIB’s NicoMaki –> KotoMaki makes sense).  If you feel the urge to write a certain ship (especially HonoEli) in the next fic, you can still write one shots or deleted scenes as you used to do. You’re ofc free to write whatever you want (I would still read it and love it anyway xD), but it would be cool if, for example, you didn’t make the YouChika in LIB become a KanaYouChika. I know you love writing KanaChika after ANITW, but I would rather like you to write a oneshot about it. It would make much more sense 3rd years OT3 angst LOL, I would like it to stay that way :D But still THANK YOU for your hard work, your writing really makes my days ^^
Well first of all, thanks! I’m glad you like my writing and the rare pair ships. Honestly, I can barely even ship anyone else with Maki at this point, now that I’ve started writing KotoMaki. Hmm, yeah Let It Burn definitely started out as being NozoEli with HonoEli seemingly completely platonic but I didn’t really intend for it to be completely platonic. Like I was writing it so that F!Honoka was somewhat in denial over her feelings for Eli which was why she was so adamantly denying that she had any and why she constantly put it down to familial love etc. In the beginning chapters she would get SUPER worked up whenever anyone approached the idea of her having any romantic feelings for Eli. But it was always meant to be like that. I just kind of worked up to it rather than outright SAYING that Honoka was in love with Eli in the future. While I don’t think that LIB was in any way a spontaneous decision to go with the Honoka and Eli ship (even if it seemed to happen quickly) you are in a way right about ANITW. I didn’t start it out planning to go with Honoka and Eli but as you said, I was writing Honoka and Eli at the time so because I liked writing Honoka and Eli, the ship did change from potentially ChikaHono to Honoka and Eli. I would, however, say that in the ‘latest’ chapters of ANITW, everyone has equal focus (almost) so I don’t think I’m focusing too much on an specific ship. Even if I do focus on a particular ship between chapters, each ship or character tends to get a chapter that’s focused on them somewhat. Like Hanayo and Nico are being focused on at the moment. And Koto and Maki. Honestly, the change in the NicoRiko thing is pretty much just because my opinion when it comes to Riko changed drastically so I don’t really…write her character anymore. There’s no way I could have stuck with that. So I had to write my way out if it, in a way. So it wasn’t at all that I felt the urge to write a different ship, it was more like I didn’t feel at all comfortable writing a certain character anymore. And I still don’t, which is why at this point Riko is just BARELY a background character in A Name In The Wind. I just can’t write her to any degree (though to be fair I’m trying a little bit to include her). Not sure what I’m doing with the third years or seconds years or any combination of them in LIB (when it comes to Aqours anyway) but I would mention that the third year ship is never going to happen in that. Not that I mind it, it’s just not something I’m writing or thinking about writing. There will be angst between them but no relationship really. Ah, shoot. Just read over your question again and I want to mention also that HonoUmi was always meant to be unrequited in ANITW. My main aim by doing that really was you know, Umi angst, KotoHonoUmi friendship etc. Also I don’t really know if the HonoEli could be described as spontaneous in that either. Like there was SUDDENLY a lot of focus on it but I wouldn’t say it happened randomly. There was quite a build up to it - and in this case it really helped the storyline along by putting more pressure on Chika and causing issues in Honoka’s life. So yeah, um…sorry about the long reply. And thanks for your comment but I do hope you see where I’m coming from, especially with the NicoRiko thing. :) Edit: Also with the KananChikaYou thing, I haven’t really gone into it much in terms of Kanan being used by Mari. If I was going to go with KananChikaYou (In LIB obviously) it would be because Chika and You actually care about her, rather than use her. That’s not to say Mari doesn’t CARE about Kanan because obviously she does, that would be insanely out of character but you know, given her ability she has little choice but to use Kanan. If there’s any KananChikaYou, it’ll be built up on emotional attraction and then go to physical attraction.  Also I forgot to mention but HanaNico was planned to be honest, it just hadn’t been mentioned. Sometimes I just allude to thinks rather than stating them outright, sometimes it’s not even mentioned if it’s not relevant and the focus is elsewhere but with this there are little hints, like Nico being the only one to know about Hanayo’s smoking habit etc. There will definitely be more to show how the HanaNico relationship got to where it is now (in the form of flashbacks),
