Ive seen a few people compare espresso cookie and licorice cookie as like possible foils (dark wizards of varying success and hair covering 1 eye idk) and i kinda sorta get what they mean but i feel like the TRUE unrecognized foil for licorice is cream puff cookie.

They're both clumsy magic users that make a lot of mistakes and are both super familiar with failure. The real difference is their attitudes and environments. Over the years Licorice got bitter for not receiving recognition and decided to turn to the dark arts instead. He puts himself in a high-stress high-criticism environment and simultaneously does his job wrong WHILE stifling himself of the things hes actually good at due to fear of criticism and failure. (but since he doesnt know how to work any other way, he still does things wrong, he just tries to force himself into a role hes not built for)

(This section is gonna be a lot shorter bc i think more about licorice cookie sorry) Cream Puff is a bright eyed magic student that, despite her failures, is consistently supported by her professors, and usually believes that she can EVENTUALLY do it right, even if she has low self esteem. Look at the lines "Failure is just a stepping stone to success" and "Failing isn't always a bad thing, hehe!" and tell me that doesnt scream licorice cookie foil idk im insane. I dont know how to put this foil into better words so i just have to make an image and hope that you guys understand hold on.
