a letter mostly for the moots but if u wanna read it have at it

so,

a lil update on urs truly

i got a job, in a commercial kitchen, where I am always walking for 8 hours, which kills my feet but the job provides me structure and routine which I love and can bloom with. And it has growth opportunities.

also things to expect-

im going to do a flip through vid of that vampire journal I was working on, it just needs the finishing touches and i might even start a papercrafting youtube.

my writing is going to be few and far between, even more so than before. I aim to post once a month, but thats not a hard goal for me.

my schedule is (for the most part) work three days in a row with one day off and everyother weekend off.

Im not going to stress myself on reading everything by my faves, i will check every now and then. (even before, i usually only read fic like every 4 or 5 days)

i did manage to finish a book-the sanatorium by sarah pearse. and its a no from me dog. it had the worst plot, used the tropes in the worst way, everything was flat. i was sad bc hotel/lodge on a snowy mountain and they get snowed in is my fave trope but noooooooooo this book was not it.

im reading this book now its a faust retelling and its so much better.

my cat is doing fine with me being at work, the family dog is not though. :( bc she gets to ride with me in the car (my mom drops me off, i go for a drivers test sometime soon, like the 29) and im told when she gets home she just whines and is LOOKING FOR ME I FEEL SO BAD

also guess who caught a stomach bug from my work and had to call in late so i wouldn't shit my pants. this bitch. im better now, its passed but man that was not fun. try lifting dinnerware and food storage all day when u cannot control ur anus. yes that is entirely too much information but i do not care.

oooooo i also did manage to get halloween off, i am working all the other major holidays which is fine bc i really dont do those and to me its worth it bc i have my second fave off. (i consider new years day a holiday and its my fave)

this is actually the first day in 11 days that i feel like being here. so how are ya? what have i missed? anything life changing?

Silk Week 2021 (@silkweek)

Day 1: Recommendations

for day one, when trying to come up with Silk-related recs, i immediately thought of this work:

this fic holds a place of honor in my heart. i was wandering down a lonely road with my little ace!Cindy headcanon that i considered canon for myself & to spite d*n slott, when @lilradridinghood dropped this gem on ao3!! and suddenly i am not alone. it's still, to my knowledge, the only fic with ace!Cindy, and even though i aim to change that in the near future, it's so nice knowing i won't be alone in that tag😊

one thing i really really love about hellenic polytheism, especially as a former xtian, is that the religion itself is based on kharis, or forming relationships with the gods.

and the relationships are a two-way street; you can't just ask for things from the gods all the time & never thank them or give offerings, but the gods shouldn't ask things of you constantly without a little help, guidance, or gifts/blessings/etc.

the idea that the whole point of worship is to strengthen your bond with your deities instead of just expecting immediate love & reverence is so refreshing. i don't have to constantly affirm that lady hestia is the Best Ever (even though she is), i shouldn't follow whatever i think the gods say without using my own judgment (it's not always gonna make sense right away but It Will), and i don't have to fear them in order to be a good worshiper. the relationships are built on mutual love & respect just like all good relationships should be.

in conclusion: i love my deities & cannot believe i'm lucky enough to have artemis as my (metaphorical) big sister😊😊

for today's theme, i decided to draw one of my favorite headcanons: ace!Cindy. i've headcanoned Cindy as asexual for almost as long as i've known about her. even though it contradicts.... *certain pieces of canon* this headcanon is near & dear to my heart, in no small part because i am also ace & Korean-American. so, without further ado, here's the art:

Favorite Story You Wrote: oof this is a hard one... ooohhh, i feeelll like i gotta, just gotta go with 5 + 1 gifts and Just Breathe cus they’re just so precious 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 but tbh i luv all of em. just as whole fics, they seem better to me haha

Story You Were Nervous to Post: ALL BRUHHH i mean im just not that confident with my works yet haha. buttt the one i was rlly the most nervous about was Home for the Holidays cus it was my first time writing with an actual person in mind to write it for haha. plus, it was the first fic i wrote after pj month so oof gods was i rusty by the time i wrote it hahaha haaysst. i think it was ok enough tho. plus they said it was good so yay. im just glad i actually did it haha.

How Do You Choose Your Titles: eh just whatevs i feel is catchy and is a good concise nice indicator of the plot heh. hhmm i feel like i usually come up with titles during the brainstorming process for the fic, like before actually writing it or while writing it.

How Many of Your Stories Are:

Complete: if im counting the “chapters” i mentioned earlier as one story each, then probs round 24. i say probs cus there’s some fics i wrote somewhere, where i feel like i finished em but i dont have access to them currently so im not 100 if it’s complete by my standards or nah haha

In-Progress: hhhhmmm im not sure if it’s write to call these in-progress. i’d rather call em unfinished, like i have 16 unfinished stories, or just written out story outlines. im not sure if i should call em in progress cus im not sure if i even still rlly plan to finish em, yknow? haha like they really are genuinely fun interesting n creative story ideas n plans thus far, i feel. but i just- lazy, yknow? haha i have to build up to writing a story for A LOONGG TIME haha

Upcoming Story You’re Most Excited to Write: oofff im not even sure if im actually gonna wind up writing these buuuut, dancing pj still seems so cute n pure n fun. and also, in addition to the countless other aus my annoying brain came up with on pj month, my brain annoyingly got even more fic ideas rolling around it now:

a moulin rouge au (peter’s the famous singer/dancer known as the spider-man who attracts men and women alike in the famous moulin rouge run by liz toomes with a gallery of other colorful rogues, heroes, villains, and just other sorts of attractive characters based on the comicbooks of old. mj is a young new budding writer looking to gain world experience to write about. she winds up in the moulin rouge, meets the infamous spider-man and gets to know the kind man behind the alluring and mysterious mask. im imagining tom’s lsb, laura’s hollywood, and z’s halloween euphoria ep costume for the aesthetic im going for haha. im still torn on whether to keep the og ending or not hahahaha)

maybe a friends with benefits fic. where it’s not so angsty or full of drama. and genuinely just keeping it cool and chill til they inevitably just decide to actually get together/stay friends. it’s all up in the air and they’ll figure it out when they figure it out.

producers inspired, roommates au. the kdrama did the trope well and it made me want to see it applied to my two dorks 🥺🥺🥺🥺

lastly, a first time fic for our two dorky virgins hahaha. i kinda like the idea of them planning out their first time to the most minute of details and just the actual process of figuring out what they want to do n stuff haha just seems real cute to me 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Do You Accept Prompts: hahahhaha look, i’m never one to say no ok? i mean, if i just straight up say no, im possibly saying no to potential ideas that are so inspiring i wind up writing it immediately. so yes, i’d like to say im willing to accept prompts. however, there is absolutely no guaranteed follow up and for that i’m sorry. i can just never know how i’ll react to an idea so there ya go. that’s my honest response haha.

Never Letting Go

Characters: Sam Winchester, Y/N Y/L/N, John Winchester, Dean Winchester, Mary Winchester, Y/N’s parents

Pairing: AU Sam x Reader

Warnings: Character death, mention of alcohol abuse, John being a bad parent, Dean being an awesome brother, mention of domestic abuse, mention of rape, mention of character death - None of it graphic!

Word Count: 1200ish

A/N: So this turned out way different than I planned. Sorry I didn’t include Destiel after all Beka. I promise I will make a drabble out of that moment we talked about at some point.

This is written for @impala-dreamer One Prompt for All Sam Challenge. The prompt was “I promise I won’t let go”

Also I aimed for fluff which I clearly missed by a mile. Apparently I can’t write Sam without some degree of angst! Sorry!

Sam Winchester was like a lost kid when he met Y/N. He felt guilty for all the things his brother had sacrificed for his happiness, so much so that he was starting to doubt Stanford Law was really what he wanted. You see, Sam Winchester didn’t come from an ordinary family. He came from a family with a father that blamed him for the death of his mother while he took everything he felt Sam did wrong out on his older brother Dean.

When Sam was 6 months old, his mother had taken the eyes off the road for one brief moment to look back at her crying baby. Just long enough for the car to sway into oncoming traffic before a honking horn made her overcorrect, steering right into a huge oak just a few miles from their home. Sam didn’t remember any of this of course, but his four year old brother did. Before telling the cops, Dean did something no kid should ever have to do. He unfastened his brother’s seat belt and carried him from the wreck before the vehicle caught fire. He saved his brother’s life, but Dean never saw it like that. He remember the smell of burning flesh and his mother’s screams. More than that, he remembered the dead look in his father’s eyes; the hate he looked at his baby brother with, when Dean told the police what had happened.

Sam never blamed Dean for anything. There was nothing to blame him for. Dean never stopped taking care of his little brother. He never stopped saving him, even when it was from their own father. Sam was the one he blamed, but Dean was the one he took all his anger out on. Dean was the one promising he was okay, and Sam didn’t had to worry when blood streamed from his nose or bruises covered his body.

The second Dean had turned 18, he was out of the house, but not without his brother. Dean worked two jobs to support himself and Sam since he never saw a dime of the child support. John kept drinking away. Sam always felt terrible when Dean came home tired, yet still willing to help him with his homework. Sam felt even more awful when he got offered a scholarship to Stanford, and Dean didn’t hesitate uprooting his life to move to California with his baby brother. Dean got the two of them an apartment, working his ass off at the local garage, making sure Sam didn’t have too.

Sam had wanted to become a lawyer for as long as he could remember, but even if he had been offered a full scholarship, living in a college time was expensive, not to mention books. Sam knew Dean was already in debt, and he hated when he joked around saying “Yeah well Sammy, all the more reason for you to become a lawyer. I need you to keep my ass out of jail.”

Had it not been for the Y/H/C haired girl who had spun straight into his arms at the Halloween party his best friends Jess and Brady threw, he might never have gone. For the first time in a long time, Sam smiled, dancing with the laughing carefree girl in his arms. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he made a difference for someone as he held back her hair, waiting for the alcohol to exit her system in a rather unpleasant way.

He had stayed with her on the floor as she whimpered, gently rubbing circles on her back, trying to make her relax, just as his brother had done for him when he had been sick as a child. He knew the importance of that little gesture better than anyone, and he smiled as Y/N laid down on the floor, resting her head in his lap.

“I’m never drinking again,” she sulked, making Sam laugh, giving her hip a small squeeze.

“You want me to remind you of that next party?” Sam grinned down at her, making her pull a face at him.

“Hey! I am not some brainless partygirl you know,” she pushed herself up into a seating position before nearly falling back down, only prevented by Sam’s steady hands.

“I never said you were,” Sam offered apologetically, relieved when she sighed deeply, shaking her head for him to forget it. Somehow Sam managed to get her off the freezing bathroom floor and into bed. He tugged the covers around her, turning around to leave the room when she reached for him.

He hesitated for a moment, not really sure what to do. She was still drunk, and while helping her to her on campus apartment was one thing, crawling into bed with her, even if they were both fully dressed, was another. The look in her eyes was what made him decide. She didn’t look like the happy girl who had been twirling around on the dancefloor earlier with her arms wrapped around Sam’s neck. She looked sad and broken, like someone who just needed to be held. So that was what Sam did. He crawled into her bed, wrapped his arm around her middle, and pulled her back against his chest.

She didn’t look at him as she quietly started talking, confiding her life history to this total stranger. Sharing with Sam how she had been on the run from her father most of her life. She told him how her mom had covered windows, never letting her bring home friends, and never staying in the same place for long, while always looking over her shoulder to make sure the man that beat and raped her wasn’t coming for them. He was, and he did find them. 5 years ago today. 5 years ago, Y/N’s mom had given her life to protect her from the man she had been running from her entire life. Her mother’s killer and Y/N’s biological father had been sentenced to serve life in prison, but that didn’t stop the nightmares from haunting her, especially on this one night of the year.

“I don’t wanna go to sleep,” she confessed, admitting she was scared of what nightmares that would haunt her, and Sam pulled her a little closer.

“Nothing is going to happen to you. I promise I won’t let go,” he whispered softly against her ear, smiling when he felt her shiver slightly, and the hint of a smile on her face when she drifted off to sleep. Sam didn’t let go, and part of him knew he never would again. She was special, and she needed someone, like Dean had always been there for him. Sam could be the rock she needed and the light in her dark. He would never let go of her again for as long as she would allow him to hold on to her.
