I just realised people think you are showing off when you ask someone a basic word in a language you're fluent on. Like you don't get it. I've been bilingual since I learned how to speak, trilingual since my early teens and honestly I'm not counting German because it is not a language it's a torture device. But I genuinely will ask how to say póla in Spanish or Schlüssel in English because my brain goes in energy saving mode and it won't tell me.
