Which would be better to do: pay my car insurance in one lump sum reducing my emergency savings to almost nothing or put my car insurance on monthly payments which would slightly increase the amount I pay but allow me to keep my emergency savings intact. I know this is probably a personal preference question but was hoping the almighty bitches might have some input to help me make a decision.
Option #2.
I'd only pre-pay auto insurance if your emergency savings fund would NOT be depleted by it. This is what I do to save a little money every year, but my emergency fund is nice and fat and I can easily replace it within a few months when I use it.
Here's why: You will need your emergency fund to pay for your insurance deductible in the event of an insurance claim. If you've spent it all on your monthly insurance payment, then you will have nothing left for your deductible.
And if that didn't make sense, we explain all about it in these posts:

Quick Insurance Quotes vs. Best Insurance Quotes!USA ? [super latest v7.65]
Some of us will continue to pay the same insurance premium year after year, while others will check about for some quick insurance quotes, but not necessarily the best insurance quotes, and then choose the cheapest option without much thought. The mindset here is that there isn’t much difference in the Insurance Quotes market.
The reality of the automobile insurance business tells us otherwise! There is a significant difference in car insurance comparison quotes, with premiums ranging from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars, and while getting quick insurance quotes for our car, we should be careful to get enough comparative quotes to get not just the cheapest, but the best insurance quotes.
You’ll need some basic computer skills and up to 50 quotations to compare to acquire the best insurance rates for the current year. Unfortunately, the adventure does not end there because insurance firms require your personal information and the completion of a form for each company before they would provide information about their best auto insurance quotes.
All auto insurance companies have a strong interest in obtaining your information, and they will keep it on file in order to make repeated offers in the future, so don’t be surprised if you give out your information to insurance companies and they regard you as a lifetime target.
Of course, you may opt out of the continual email assault by unsubscribing, but many people fail to do so, and the unsubscribe links on emails are frequently hidden, despite the fact that they are required by law to be visible.
In most circumstances, you will be required to provide information ranging from traffic offenses to your age and gender. They’ll want to know where your automobile is parked, whether it’s under lock and key or on the street, as well as its estimated commercial value. Give them your information, and they’ll give you their best insurance premium. Keep copies of the first application so you may simply repeat the process with additional insurance companies.
It’s also crucial to investigate the reliability of various businesses. You may believe you have the best insurance rate with an offer that meets all of your requirements and is priced reasonably, giving you the finest deal available. However, anecdotal evidence and online reviews may indicate that the firm you’ve chosen is untrustworthy and will give you the runaround with the fine print, making it difficult to file a claim if the need arises. So acquiring the best insurance rates also entails avoiding the insurance industry’s pitfalls.
Allow a day of intensive browsing and form filling as you begin your quest for the finest vehicle insurance rates. Get at least 50 quotations. While this will be a nuisance today, you will save time and money in the long run by getting the best. If your automobile is ever damaged or stolen, insurance quotes will mean more money in your pocket and honest insurance for your vehicle.
Each year, you must insure your vehicle, and you have spent a significant amount of money over the last ten years or so. Getting the greatest insurance quotes each year will benefit you both financially and in terms of protection.

Why Is Professional Indemnity Insurance Important in Australia?
Tumblr media
Professional indemnity insurance is a must if you offer professional service in Australia. Read on to learn why you will need the cover of a PI policy.
As a professional, you may have been told that it is necessary to take professional indemnity insurance to protect your business. You may already have one even, as it may be a requirement for membership to your professional organisation.
Having your business insured certainly has its advantages, but why is professional indemnity policy particularly important in Australia? Read on as we will be discussing its significance in this article.
4 Reasons Why Australian Professionals Needs Professional Indemnity Insurance
PI insurance is essential for consultants and businesses providing professional services.
When providing advice or professional services, you may be held liable if something goes wrong. Your PI policy may cover the legal costs and expenses of dealing with the ensuing claims.
It protects your assets.
As it covers the costs of settling claims, you need not fear the risk of losing your assets as you deal with the issue.
The policy may pay for the legal defense.
Should any professional liability claim escalate into legal action, your PI insurance may cover your legal expenses up to the limits set by your policy.
It protects both you and your clients.
When your professional advice or service ends up causing losses to your client, your PI policy makes sure that they are reasonably compensated and that you will not have to spend a lot of money while dealing with their claim.

You and possibly the employees or contractors who carry out your services are covered.
What's the difference between Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance?
PI is a type of insurance concerning your professional advice or services. For example, PI policy may cover engineers who provided faulty structural designs or incorrect advice.
Public liability insurance is another business insurance cover related to personal damages or accidents in your business premises, such as when a visitor slips and falls while you're in operation.

“Red Cleared Of Desertion,” Border Cities Star. October 29, 1932. Page 3.  ---- No Job, No Property, Is Seal's Defence; Wife Is Accuser ---- Supported Him ---- Radical Assigns Insurance Policy; Charge Is Dismissed ---- Mrs. Arthur Anna Seal, wife of who is local chairman off the Canadian Labor Defence League, won the sympathy of Magistrate Brodie in Windsor police court this morning, but no promise of immediate aid as the result of her application for maintenance. Mrs. Seal charged her husband with desertion and failure to support either herself or her two children, one of whom is under the age of 16.
RELEASES POLICY Seal, represented by Onie Brown, Toronto lawyer, who is often defense counsel at trials of radicals. based his defence on the fact that he was not employed and has no estate, either real or personal. He agreed to sign a release on an insurance policy so that the small sum it will realize may be turned over to her. The policy is on Seal's life but, according to Mrs. Seal's testimony, she had paid a large share of the premiums.
The complainant recalled that she was married in 1913 at Montreal and has been living apart from her husband since July 28. 1929, when she accepted a position at Muskoka. Returning here, she said, it was to find that her house had been sold out under the bailiffs hammer, even her own clothing being sacrificed to pay off the debt owing on some articles of furniture.
She produced a tier she had received from Seal while at Murkoka. a missive that bore as a return address, “General Delivery. Walkerville.”
“When I came back. I found the house was empty There was nobody to meet me and I could get no trace of my husband for two weeks,” Mrs. Seal said.   SUPPORTED HUSBAND The complainant said she has worked steadily to maintain herself and family, cleaning and scrubbing offices, doing odd jobs to keep the household before separation from her husband, when Seal was ill and unable to work. She made no application relief from the city until last month, when she was accorded $1.50 weekly for herself and two children.
“When he was sick. I worked for him,” Mrs. Seal said in response to Magistrate Brodie's questioning, and “I know of no reason why he should not maintain me. I would like to know what he did with the fumituie and my clothes and some insurance policies on the family. I stopped paying the premiums last May.”
Cross-examined by Mr. Brown, Mrs. Seal denied she had refused to live with her husband when she returned from Muskoka.
She recalled that a court order for maintenance had been given in Walkerville. November, 1929. stipulating payments of $10 weekly. At that time, she said, her husband was working
“He paid $10 that year and $20 in 1930 and none since then,” Mrs. Seal said.
“Would you be willing to go back and live with your husband? Mr. Brown asked.
“I’D HAVE TO WORK” “It would be just the same as before, I'd have to work all the time. But I'd go back with him If he provided a home.”
Magistrate Brodie refused to entertain an argument for dismissal at this stage, ruling that the onus was on Seal to prove he was not in a position to maintain his wife.
Seal explained how the bailiff had seized all the furniture and everything else that was portable during his wife’s absence. He agreed to sign a release on the insurance policy in which his wife is named as beneficiary and stated he had been unemployed for two and a half years.
“I've tried to get work,” he said, "and am willing to support my wife if I could find work.”
Questioned by Magistrate Brodie, he admitted Mrs. Seal had been a good wife and a hard-working women, but added that now he was “living the best I can, on the bounty of friends."
“Mrs. Seal. I can give you sympathy and that's all I can give,” said Magistrate Brodie on conclusion of testimony. “He is out of employment and has no estate, and it is difficult to prove that be can get work and refuses to work. If you are ever able to show that he is working and still makes no move to support you, come back here and lay another information. Dismissed.”

props to the dwarf fortress devs, it feels like the game’s launch really went as ideally as anyone could hope a free-to-premium(ish) launch could go
dude spent 20 years making one of the most intensive, detailed civ sims ever, for free, and then spent two years rebuilding the UI from the ground up for a premium version, incorporating a bunch of QOL mod ideas people loved over the years, and said “the game’s still going to be free, and the free version is still going to have all of the QOL changes in it” and even diehard fans still paid $30 (someone was kind enough to buy it for me) just because he also has amazing developer-community relations.

My physical is Thursday so I can have some labs ordered so we can see what my insulin and blood sugar levels look like which is the only thing I’m worried about, I haven’t taken any meds for it in over a year and I’m definitely eating healthier and burning my energy overall but who knows, my metabolism is so gunked up. But my blood pressure, pulse, and iron levels have been like textbook healthy range based off my last few Red Cross donations so I’m holding out hope 😤
Ive just seen so many specialists over the past decade for heart/nerve/sleep/stomach/etc. problems that if this gets under control that I’ll officially have all my chronic illnesses managed for the first time ever and that’s such a beautiful thing I need it…
