SO okay oooh I'm excited to talk about this.

So I ended up watching Vicious again. Watch it, it's amazing. Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi play an older same sex couple who hate each other (not really, they're madly in love just bitches) and it's very gay and very funny (slightly outdated but we can forgive them that) also Iwan Rheon is there as the straight (ha) man.

So I wanted to do an enemies to lovers roommates thing but I also wanted to lean a little more into queer culture at least verbally. I don't think we see enough of that language in the fandom and like I understand it in a sense? Small town Midwest probably didn't have a ballroom scene or much in the way of queer colloquialisms.

My main problem is that I'm more familiar with queer speak from Ireland and the UK (Polari) and not as familiar with how it's done in America but there is some overlap and I'm not going to be going in hard, just the occasional condescending 'dear' and 'darling' thrown around with a few instances of them referring to each other using female pronouns (e.g. 'she's such a drama queen') that kind of thing?

With a nice chunk of hurt/comfort in there too because I can't help myself.

At it again. Barry Keoghan and Timothee Chalamet.

- Watched - multiple times - HBO Max’s THE PRINCE.

Created by Gary Janetti - one of the writers of FAMILY GUY, WILL & GRACE and creator/writer of ITV’s VICIOUS starring Sirs Derek Jacobi, Ian McKellen and “THE PRINCE”s Frances De La Tour and Iwan Rheon.

Janetti got the greenlight for the controversial animated satirical series lampooning the Royal Family- with Prince George at the center -after making his own Royal Family posts on Instagram.

In light of that THE PRINCE is as biting as his IG with Prince George (voiced by Janetti) being a catty, fork-tongued, social standing obsessed Regina George in 8-year old form.

Rounding out the cast is Alan Cumming as Prince George’s patient valet Owen; Lucy Punch as Kate who feels stifled in her marriage, Iwan Rheon as Prince William who feels stifled by not being as close to the throne as he wants to be, Frances La Tour as the foul-mouthed Queen,

Dan Stevens as the mumbling Prince Philip and Prince Charles;

Samuel Barrett (who appeared in Janetti’s VICIOUS as a young version of Derek Jacobi’s character)

as the beleaguered staffer Douglas, Sophie Turner as Princess Charlotte who is working with Russia to take down the Royals, Paul Anderson as rough and tumble Prince George and

Condola Rashad and Orlando Bloom

as the hilarious Meghan Markle and Harry who are trying to navigate life as commoners.

There are people who won’t watch the show because they feel it’s unfair and unconscionable to mock a child, but the more searing takes are on the adults - Royals and Real Housewives both.

The only thing I find annoying on the show is that they don’t have the characters listed beside the name of the actors and even IMDB isn’t complete because I’m 1000% sure Dan Stevens is playing Kevin, a royal kitchen staffer who has a series long arc (and who does a menacing take of Britney Spears’ “Toxic”) and I think Iwan Rheon plays two additional characters - the head of the kitchen staff and Prince George’s classmate Sebastian who intimidates Prince George with his rendition of “Spring Awakening”s’ “I Don’t Do Sadness”.
