the scarvi DLC in the context of my trainer is so funny to me because imagine being kieran, getting your ass beat and your dreams crushed by this nobody from an entirely different region, and spending the next like few months of your life devoting yourself to becoming as strong as possible. You climb the ranks, becoming the champion. You put together a fully competitive team. You're the strongest you've ever been, yet a husk of your former self, and then the fucking kid that ruined you shows up at your school as an exchange student, joins your club that they shouldn't even be allowed to join, skips the ranks and goes straight to absolutely sweeping the floor with the elite four... and after all this time, you're finally face to face, you know you can beat them, you have to.... and their team has not changed one fucking bit, is somehow way stronger than yours despite having not done an ounce of training (<- hasn't fought a single non mandatory trainer in ages, pokemon got to lvl 100 via picnics and catching pokemon for the pokedex), and they proceed to obliterate you with their pets they picked up off the side of the road. kieran: *having a mental breakdown about not being able to defeat me, and just overall not being able to be like me* my honest to god reaction: skill issue (<- has three dual type normals and a dream)
