Happy blorbo blursday! What is your blorbo's (or blorbos') most treasured possession?
Hello, and happy blorbo blursday to you too!
Fallon's most treasured possession is probably either A) a hairbrush engraved with a rose that was a gift from her mother when she was 13, or B) her crown, because that's also from her mother, in a way. Of course the crown is also a symbol of everything she has to do, and the phrase "heavy lies the head that wears the crown" definitely applies to her.
(Yes, I'm aware the phrase is actually, in the play, "uneasy lies the head that wears the crown." but most people say it with heavy, and that makes more sense in Fallon's case, though uneasy also applies.)
Kristopher's most treasured possession is his horse, Phillip, though he doesn't like to think of him as a possession. (He doesn't care too much about material stuff, since being a Prince, he always had plenty of stuff, but he was still miserable. He knows money can't make you happy if you life is shit.) Phillip was both an excuse to leave the castle, and a way to get out of Westcliff. He was also Kristopher's only friend for a very, very long time, and Kris would sleep in the stables sometimes when he was particularly unhappy. :'(

Happy WBW Hesperos🎉 I'm curious, how does your world handle disability, both the obvious and not so obvious kind? Are there accessibility tools or devices? Is it common practice?
In Ánaseza, most people are farmers and miners, and as such, tend to lose various digits or limbs in accidents; or lose functionality of a limb or limbs. Most of the time, they or someone they know will have enough woodworking skill to create a rough prosthetic, or mobility aid (such as canes and walkers). For those who are more wealthy or otherwise have better access to skilled artisans, prosthetics of metals and even porcelain are available. Certain enchantments can help further with joint mobility in a prosthetic, allow it to be more weight-bearing, and also lighter to hold.
For enath, whose magic works very closely with nature, there are living prosthetics from wood or bone.
For those who are deaf, there is a sign language, though I've not worked out exactly how it works precisely. For those who are blind, Ánasezan braille (or a form of it, at least) has existed for at least several centuries, as an adaptation of Emyrian braille.
For those who have low or no use in their legs, wheelchairs also exist the world over as an important N'adrosian invention. For those with chronic pain, there are a multitude of alchemical pills and potions (in additional to traditional recipes like willow bark tea) that can reduce and relieve pain, though these can also run into the issue of becoming addictive or less effective over time as with real life medication. There are also corrective and compressive braces and such (Alessa actually wears one of these).
For mental illnesses like anxiety, certain enchantments and alchemical creations can help create a soothing effect, and is most efficiently used in addition to therapy. There is something similar for focus, but all of this also varies from person to person, and everyone needs something a little different (to the frustration of alchemists everywhere, no doubt.)
And I haven't thought much about learning disabilities (I'm not sure if this is the right term? sorry if its wrong!) like dyslexia or ADHD, but the school system in Ánaseza have considerably smaller class sizes compared to like, USA class sizes. I imagine there's a robust tutoring/apprenticeship system as well.
Hopefully that answered your question! I'm sure there's even more I didn't think of but I hope I touched on the major ones.

just wanna put this out here, ahead of this sunday
I do NOT wanna see any daylight savings time hate on my dash from my fellow Americans or Canadians. The problem is not DST. The problem is SWITCHING THE DAMN CLOCK. Yes, losing an hour of sleep sucks. And yes, there is a marked increase in accidents, decrease in work productivity, etc etc, in the days immediately following the time switch.
The solution to this is not to get rid of daylight savings time, the solution is to never switch OFF daylight savings time. Extra sunlight in the afternoons and evenings is always superior. The sun should never set at 4 o'clock in the temperate latitudes. With your help, we can change this.

for the violence ask game: 8 common fandom opinion everyone is wrong about. for milgram. i know exactly what you're going to say i just want to see you go off again
Hiii bestie. You do know what I'm about to talk about. Yippee
Disclaimer that this whole essay is like. For fun and how I say things is ramped up to be funny. I don't mind if you disagree w me cuz like that's the nature of things! We disagree but we can get along.
Anyways short answer for people who don't wanna see the essay: organ harvesting theory. This is about shidou.
Idk how prevalent it is rn since not many people even talk about shidou but it was prevalent enough in June when I got into milgram that I believed it for a bit anyways the rest in under the cut cuz I'm insane sorrg
SO the main reason I think the theory is WRONG (hyperbole‼️) is because I just think it's unrealistic. Man works in a hospital in Japan. How would he pull it off. Scuff an operation bad enough to cause braindeath/death and I'm p sure they suspend your medical licence, if he participated in an organ harvesting operation pre-family-accident his case would then be black and white cuz he was doing it in complete sound mind with no regard for human life. Also it wouldn't justify the extreme reaction he's had to realizing, specifically, "what I've been robbing people of" (t1 voice trailer), and he wouldn't have as heavy a focus on the relatives' feelings and reactions. At least story writing wise it'd make less sense since it doesn't allude to anything if that's the end goal? Imo at least. Idk maybe this is because I really like tragedies in media. Also because it'd be a really disproportionately severe crime compared to every other direct murderer???? Like. We have strangled someone, stabbed someone, bludgeoning, bludgeoning, kicked someone to death. Organ harvesting looks cartoony in this context. It's also not a very prevelant issue in Japan iirc.
Also to prove my point further. If we use this theories the murders would be
Strangling, abortion??????, cyber bullying, stabbing, organ harvesting, toxic r/s, telling the truth (lmao), bludgeoning, bludgeoning, bludgeoning (minus weapon). Organ harvesting is goofy cuz it seems so.... Extreme,,,,,,,
ALSSOOOOO funny point. If he's not directly involved in his murder (as in, unintentional and indirect) that makes 5 direct and 5 indirect. Silly.
Also also his murder seems somewhat tied to how he feels about his job itself ("I wanted to contribute to society (about his career choice)/I had thought my work was a contribution to society", use of past tense) and to me it reads like hes disillusioned w his job esp since his reason for getting a highly sought after, high paying and high social ranking job is "I wanted to contribute to society". Doctors with that empathy can be affected by the death around them more severely and I think that's a fun topic to look at
I count this under "common fandom opinion" cuz it was common enough around June (whenyours truesly got into milgram) that I believed it. I mean I introduced shidou to my friend (hello clown) as "maybe Dr malpractice. Organ harvesting dude" and said friend (hello again clown) is also the one who's heard me bash the organ harvesting theory like 6 times at least now so. Yippee.
Take none of this seriously I just got off a plane and am so very eepy. If you like the organ harvesting theory good for you!!!!!!!💥💥💥💥💥 you do you bestie !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally do not think less of anyone who believes that theory I just personally dont lmao

Hi Morri, happy blorbo blursday!
I'm curious, which relationship do you enjoy exploring the most? Alternatively, which is the hardest to write, and why?
Hello! Thanks for the ask, and happy Blorbo Blursday!
My favorite relationship to write is definitely Fallon and Kristopher. They're my babies, and I fucking adore them. The way their relationship is so monumental for both of them, being not only a serious relationship, but also being a person they can fully and genuinely trust (something neither of them do easily) is so important to me.
I also just love writing and exploring them together, because as I've said in the past, ATQH is my fantasy, in that it's a world where love is real, and people can be happy together forever. (not that that never happens irl, but in my personal experience and that of those close to me, it hasn't.)
The hardest to write might be Fallon and Lavinia. I've written almost nothing with the two of them, and that's largely because I have no idea how to write Lavinia's character. She's been a struggle for me since day one, but I have to figure her out sooner rather than later.

Happy WBW🎉 can you tell us about any particular religious celebrations?
Thanks for the ask!
Primarily, in Ánaseza, the main 'religious' holiday is Odá Shákánzsat, which translates roughly to 'day of the great ancestral spirits', and as the name suggests, worships the ancestral spirits of the household.
For more context: after death, a spirit may do one of two things; pass on into the Beyond (general term for the afterlife), or remain on Ahvan. Most often for the latter group, they become connected to either a house's ancestral altar, or a personal object (up to and including their own remains). A conjurer can summon and bond a spirit to an ancestral altar as well, allowing them to be adopted into a family, as it were.
During Odá Shákánzsat, most often times you offer to your ancestors, usually with things that are traditional or native, or handmade. For example, Alessa might offer something in red (traditional to her family specifically), embroidered with wildflowers (traditional for Ánasezan culture), and made of something like linen, cotton, or wool (traditional to Ánaseza's climate).
One might also revere the ancestors by doing something they would have done, like a hobby or activity. Alessa, for example, could attend a guest lecture because her father was a scholar.
Odá Shákánzsat is also a time for meeting new ancestors, renewing any oaths or vows you might have towards them (such as keeping with family values, promising to marry someone, etc), making new ones, adopting new spirits into the house, and such.
Now that I think of it, they would likely also have a day for their hearth spirits (called something like Odá Tháchyat?), which is exactly what it sounds like. Offerings to the hearth spirits, cooking and eating, sharing food with those who don't have a heart, and such.
Thanks for the ask!

me: i'd like to have more friends so I have more people to share things with and someone to talk to every day since I spend 98% of my time completely alone
me, trying really hard to make friends: feeling very lonely like I can't fit in and don't belong no matter what I do until i get kicked out/pushed away. or immediately fucks up, without realizing or knowing why
me after that, in tears: actually I lied, I don't want/need friends. it's better to be alone 🥲
me for a long time after that: avoids people and spends all my time alone wishing to share things with others but too tired to try again
but eventually repeats the same nonsense cycle again and again because I never learn from it 🤦♂️
