and this time for the real yr in review!
statistics:
grade- no grade babyyy im an adult (but no. im working. lol)
how i spent birthday- actually did something for once! got together w a friend and went to the conan cafe + conan movie! it was fun!
first date to come to mind- oh its gotta be jan 18
why?- using expert (average) strategy i had calculated it to be my only day to go to nwh at an imax theater in order to get the past 8:00 discount and the free stickers. turned out i had work which i wasnt told abt but that was ok bc like i said the movie was at 8. went leisurely shopping in seria and went to royal host tho i had no appetite bc of nwh hype and also i was reading death on the nile. then the imax show was amazing and i still have the stickers, they are my prized possession
something u gave up- i think i gave up caring abt fgo plot bc it all sucks lol. but actually i switched jobs. turned out it was not better, but not worse. absolutely necessary but there are still problems. but thats for me this year to figure out.
someone hot- like :/ how you gotta tell me this. i do completely platonically think the characters from that movie were hot/attractive/nice to look at. theyre just there and im down to see their shenanigans.
best media- i really liked reading mysteries oh my gosh. also seeing the raimiverse movies at last was very good.
worst media- i think its gotta be g b f. like. g o is bad but ive known it would be bad, so its not really notably so. f e h is the same way, like b6 was bad, the tempest trial painted its protagonist in a disfavorable light, but tbh i didnt mind it bc everyone stayed in character unlike last years. g b f has characters as interesting as captain fucking nemo and messes it up. i think the one event i didnt dislike this year was the disciples one and that was just bc it was true neutral. no big bad, no “oh player character you’re so op swoons”, no hamfisted morals, no fetishizing actual problems people face irl, and thats considered a win. not like i like g b f writing considering i stopped playing around the muse event, but they messed with garebear specifically so they earn my ire.
favorite things overall- idk. i wouldnt say favorite bc its actually really frustrating but i feel like having to face more like. irl problems (like mortality, the passage of time, interpersonal strain, ect) is good for me. i dont like it ofc but i do care about people around me so for their sake and my own i need to deal with these too, rather than just get pissed off abt second rate authors of games. that being said a real favorite thing (tho even thats a little bittersweet) was def n w h. like from january to the summer at least i was on a high feeling of hype and happiness abt the story and overarching franchise. im still not a m c u enjoyer but im a huge nwh fan. oh and also things like the g b f museum and g o fest turned out to be surprisingly like. super fun! so that was great!
what ur looking forward to next yr- its up in the air now but itd be nice to get a steady job that pays decently and covers things but doesnt sign me up for things i cant afford. like that would be ideal and id like it to happen. but again idk. i guess im looking forward to seeing what the year holds, good or bad, and trying to make the most of what happens. idk i cant think of anything in particular. except junko nendoroid. oh and sal and izou standies w my gofest goods! and the conan movie! and- (cut off rambling abt fandom stuff)

marcoace, mutual pining and one of the slips and calls the other a pet name on accident and it devolves into pet name chicken
"Ace, starlight," Marco pauses, swallowing hard before pushing forward. If he refused to acknowledge what he said then it wasn't real. "What are you talking about?"
"Haruta's birthday is coming up," Ace says slowly, eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure what to get for it. You know how Haruta gets, always complaining about having too many of something or thanking you to your face and then regifting it to Jozu two days later, who always gives it back to you even though he feels guilty about it."
"And you want advice? Or to complain?"
Ace snorts, grinning as he leans in closer, "Darling, if I wanted advice? I would ask Balmenco. We both know that Haruta regifts your presents at the party to whoever is closest."
"I can't believe you would say that," Marco mutters, ignoring the way his throat gets tight and his heart stutters in his chest. It didn't, couldn't, mean anything. The pet name was just in response to his own slip up. "To my face, none the less."
"Don't worry, I still love what you get me for my birthday, sunshine."
Marco ignores the sound that Thatch makes from behind him, smiling easily as he relaxes. It's another game, Ace has played plenty of them since joining the crew. And if Marco got to enjoy being called harmless pet names because of Ace's competitive nature, he wasn't going to complain about it.
"I'm sure you do, sweetheart, that's why you never use any of them," Marco teases, biting back the urge to laugh as Ace flusters. "It's okay, we both know that you want to keep them safe from the others when they try and pay you back during the prank wars."
"Well they are from my favorite person, my heart, how could I possibly allow them to be damaged?"
Haruta is laughing somewhere behind him, Marco can hear him demanding that they pay up, a bet of some kind. He's going to have to find out what it's all about later, probably from Izou, who sounds like he's losing. Or Jozu, who sounds like he's currently taking all of Haruta's winnings.
"Angel, we both know that you use things you love, you don't squirrel them away where they can't be damaged," Marco smirks, lifting one of Ace's hands up and pressing a kiss to his hand. "Better luck next time."
Ace blinks slowly, face red before he leans forward, free hand curving around Marco's cheek, "Oh, my love, you haven't won anything yet."

Was headcanoning the other day with @gxymlky about masters with child versions of their servants and how the kid version of master would be to kid servants. So I figured I'd post them too.
I imagine Robin is a very sassy and rebellious kid. Even when young. Probably scheming pranks and what not. Normal Niyo would probably find him charming at first but quickly annoyed by his tongue and pranks. She'd put him in time out a lot. Ironically, kid her would doesn't like getting in trouble but can easily be swayed to joining him. Rocky relationship unlike nowadays where they're
Proto Cu is a very rowdy boy. Playing in dirty, with bugs. He'd tired the poor girl out more than she already is. But kid Niyo would join him in his games like adventuring in the woods. She was very adventurous so they'd get along pretty good. Until he starts bringing her bugs...
Napoleon is not only tall for his age but loud and needs attention. Her least favorite kind of kids to deal with. If no other kids are around for him to play follow the leader with poor Niyo has to tag along. The games he likes to play are too tiring for her.
"Gimme a piggyback ride!!"
"You're too heavy for that, no..."
"WELL PLAY SOMETHING WITH ME!! ALL YOU DO IS SLEEP!! YOU'RE SO BORING!!"
Kid Niyo and Napoleon. They'd play together for a while but Napoleon is a selfish player who always wants to win and makes up rules along the way. She'd get tired of this quickly and go play by herself.
Izou is like a combination of Napoleon, Robin and Cu. Rebellious, rowdy and can be loud. And the sass that'll leave his mouth... hooo boy.. her work is cut out for her. He's probably a little bully too. Another one going to time out. Niyo lily actually wouldn't be play with him unless with another group of kids. He'd probably make her cry too.
Ishtar is actually rather easy to deal with. Wants all the attention on her but she isn't as active as Cu or Napoleon and her schemes don't equate to those or Robin or Izou. Playing tea parties, dress up and brushing her hair. You had Niyo at tea parties. The most she'd scheme is to get more desserts, toys or attention. She's another one to make up rules in the middle of games. It may get tiring after a while but she'll tire herself unlike Napoleon. Child Niyo and Ishtar also get along pretty good too. Same as older with Niyo following her lead. She's not like a lot of these other outgoing servants so she'd need her space after a while
Kiyohime is very clingy. Always wanting to be right up under Niyo. She's easy to deal with and satisfy since like Ishtar she wants all attention on her. She gets jealous quickly tho. She wants Niyo to play with her all day. Same goes for kid Niyo. She's always hugging her, following her around, holding her hand, joining other play groups and introducing Kiyohime to some if the things she likes. She'd definitely need her space though. Kiyohime would start crying...
And last but not least Alexander. We already know how he is. He's slightly more laxed than Cu and Napoleon but she worries how rough they play. He and Kid Neo get along really good. Arguably better than Cu. They introduce each other to things they like and if it weren't for Kiyohime could be inseparable.
Niyo: Okay kids! Let's play hide n seek! You guys hide and I'll find you.
Kid servants: YAAAAY *they all run off*
Niyo: Nice... *goes to sleep*
About an hour later...
Izou: YOU LAZY BUM!! YOU DIDN'T LOOK FOR US!
Niyo: That's not true! You guys were just such good hiders...I had to sit out for a sec to my breath...
She lied. And only 2 of them believed it.

event review bc. idk. i guess i forgot to do them but i have some stuff to follow up from this
Story- 3/10. like. its not the absolute worst i guess. i feel like senseis character is actually ok, the ceo look fits him (i would assume he has better looking ascensions if he ever becomes playable) compared to ryomas naval look and izous suit/tattered clothing. the absolute shock and “why didnt we get that version” i felt when seeing the last day cutscene of takasugi is unparalleled. like that guy actually looked like the person hes based on. i really didnt get the draw of his most used design tbh. the new assassin was kinda eh, i think it was mostly his pose. again id assume maybe hed get a better ascension sorta thing? the actual event story, not accounting for fandomwide drama, was really meh. the “saber wars” allusions were really sickening (which was prolly due to my illiteracy, but it still detracted from my enjoyment) and the fake ryoma was absolutely hateable. but in the good side the interactions with izou and ryoma especially were really great, and seeing him get to tell off the people who abandoned him was also good. the scene w oryo in the second to last day was very good (and very sad). the ending is so much no but whatever, i was expecting it. im prolly just gonna pretend the ending didnt happen.
Free servant- 7-8/10. im gonna put ranmaru here even tho im still not 100 percent. i think theyre pretty much not saber wars verse so thats an instant win for me. free avenger that is actually cool, you have my appreciation. i like their expressions being a throwback to mori (i know theyre both mori but shhh) and i think they had a nice dynamic in the event, again illiteracy aside.
Gacha servant- 5/10. completely split down the middle. izumo no okuni has been on my list since college of “historical figures id love to see as a servant” and i was disappointed when kabukimono valentine girl wasnt her or goemon (still am, but i like okuni’s design better so. i win) i love her english lines, she is very kabukimono. the “wakeup!” literally woke me up this morning lol. however, i do not like the second gacha at all. i wish that instead the historical dress for ryoma and oryo was just a costume, bc that would have been so ideal. but then again, shrugs at camera its tradition. screw over the free guda servant by giving them a bad op 5 star variant because fuck you in particular.
Event gameplay- 6/10. not much on the “power level” events of the event clear, and honestly idk why it was 5.5 clear besides making the fights harder, but with okuni and himichii the fights were a breeze. honestly w her the whole main classes of the game are covered w gudaguda servants so you can just use whoever and its great fun. the last few boss fights were utter bullshit but thats to be expected
Other- 4/10. myroom is eh. the sakamotos lines at the event shop at the start of the event were so pure, but im not looking forward if (spoilers) appears. i really hate how this event could have elaborated on previous npcs/incorporated them in the story, yet chose to just introduce a bunch of characters in their most generic designs and basically went nowhere. i guess my standards were high after 5, which incorporated himichii with the rest of the squad and made katsu playable, and the npcs were strongly tied to okita and hijikata. i also hate that it didnt have a low rarity character, thats basically how less popular/npc characters have been being added and that sucks. the fandom reaction is also just disgusting and pathetic. yall dont deserve okuni.
Overall- 5/10.
in terms of guda events theyre either really good or really eh. this one is an eh one, but thats to be expected as i loved 5 and wasnt much into 4, 3 had good characters but setting was eh, the first two were fine. this one was like... the setting of 3 + the flyball characterization of 4, so on all accounts i should dislike it more. but okuni and ranmaru are cool, and there were some good moments for my favorite characters, so it was ok. a pass, but just barely. literally those izou and ryoma moments and the half of the oryo ryoma moments that werent abuse or lazy designs are carrying this entire event on their back.
