Poonamben Maadam - What Success Looks Like
Tumblr media
For the Bhartiya Janta Party, having a leader like Poonamben Maadam is quite a blessing.
A Jamnagar BJP candidate, here is a woman political leader who has brought about actual change. Here is an example of what a successful leader looks like.
See, for people who don't usually keep up with politics, like me, I prefer the theory. It is also an idea in my mind that I would talk about political leaders having a proven track record of good work.
Standing out among my list of such leaders is Poonamben Maadam, twice over winner of the Jamnagar elections. I am intrigued by this leader who is like a breath of fresh air amongst the other leaders.
Unlike those from other Indian political parties, here is a leader who ensures that the people under her are living a comfortable life. She has ensured that there is a good supply of water and electricity at all times.
Her work towards the improvement of the lifestyle of people under her also includes the betterment of the roads. This has led to a better transport system, making it easier for the trade to work well. This has led to an improvement in the living conditions of the people there.
It is also worth noting that with how the Jamnagar MP has been working, she has also shown that her driving force is her care for people.
Starting from introducing reforms to the educational system for students and children to the reforms for working women.
Each of her schemes and policies has the undercurrent of empathy and understanding, which makes it all the more impactful.
Another way that she has conquered the loyalty and trust of people is by introducing fast trains. She made history by bringing the first fast train to Saurashtra. This train goes from Jamnagar to Ahmedabad and stops at many important places in between.
By having a fast train, people can now travel quickly between these cities. This helps them get to work, school, or the hospital faster.
And this calls for the betterment of railway stations as well. She got 9 crores to improve Jam Khambhalia railway station. They'll add more platforms, parking spots, and even a garden. These changes will make the station more comfortable for people waiting for trains.
I think a part of me rejoiced in seeing how well she was managing her work. She is an inspiration because she is so innately humane. From the way, she comes up with policies to ensuring that the people in her care are comfortable and cared for.
Now that she is running for the elections again, I think I can easily say that her chances of winning are high. Nothing can beat the changes she has brought and the improvements she has made.

Ranji trophy | Saurashtra’s win a culmination of its rich cricketing history
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/ranji-trophy-saurashtras-win-a-culmination-of-its-rich-cricketing-history/
Ranji trophy | Saurashtra’s win a culmination of its rich cricketing history
Carrying on a long legacy from the time of the British rule, the friendly and hospitable Saurashtrians finally experienced a dream come true when Jaydev Unadkat lifted the Ranji Trophy for the first time by beating Bengal at home here on March 13.
After the erstwhile Nawanagar (the previous version of Saurashtra) won the Ranji Trophy — which was named after the legendary Ranjitsinhji of Jamnagar — way back in 1936-37, incidentally beating Bengal, its cricket administration went through a lot of changes before the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) came into being in the 1950s.
Renowned cricketers
Over the years, the region has produced several renowned cricketers — including Duleepsinhji, L. Amarsinh, L. Ramji, Vinoo Mankad, Salim Durrani, Dhiraj Parsana, Karsan Ghavri, Ravindra Jadeja, Unadkat and Cheteshwar Pujara — and takes pride in its rich cricketing history.
Pujara, who was part of the winning squad, said,
“This victory means a lot to me. For the entire team and the region, this is special. It means a lot to my father, who has played the Ranji Trophy. For generations to follow, it will give them belief,” said Pujara.
For former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah and his son Jaydev, the Ranji Trophy triumph was a lifetime achievement.
“Earlier, our players used to migrate to other States. During Jaydev’s captaincy (for 12 years), he held back the players to build a team.
“Our effort to groom talented under-19 players for Ranji Trophy also helped,” said Niranjan.
Evolution
Jaydev, the current SCA president, elaborated how he built a solid unit. “Once, we were No. 28 among 30 teams. Then we became the Plate division champion, came to Elite, qualified for knockouts and ultimately became a Ranji champion.
“I ensured that players were picked purely on the basis of performance without any discrimination and showed faith in them. That’s how we got an experienced side. You need experience to win Ranji Trophy.
“I kept some senior players in the leadership group before deciding to hand over captaincy to Unadkat. The transition was smooth.
“Every small thing was taken care of. Getting such top class infrastructure (at the SCA) also helped,” said Jaydev.
Former captain and coach Sitanshu Kotaka, who spent 27 years with the side, said, “A good unit, which was developed over the years, has made this possible. It’s a proud moment for all of us,” said Kotak.
Coach Karsan Ghavri said, “Except Unadkat and Pujara, it is a team of normal Ranji Trophy players. For five-six of them it was like religion.”
Sujitkumar Bose, a Rajkot-based former journalist and a keen follower of Saurashtra cricket, said the achievement was a matter of pride. “The SCA started from almost nothing. Saurashtra becoming the Ranji champion is an emotional moment for the region,” said Bose.

How Did Anil Ambani Build Relance Group
While the group companies of the Reliance Group have been developing chronic fault lines, Anil Ambani, has come a long way, developing and nurturing the conglomerate before he had to walk the tight ropes of debt. The not-so media shy business tycoon, is credited with introducing business innovations that once proved to be breakthroughs for the Indian economy. Here’s a comprehensive look as to how he took up the herculean task of building the Reliance Group.
Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group is headquartered in Mumbai. An Indian Conglomerate of companies, this establishment was formed by Anil Ambani in 2006 after the business of his father Dhirubhai Ambani was divided between him and his brother Mukesh Ambani. Following the split of Reliance Industries in December 2005, Anil Ambani got Reliance Infocomm, Reliance Energy and Reliance Capital. Following is a comprehensive overview of his companies:
  Reliance Capital:
Reliance Capital Limited was incorporated in 1986 at Ahmedabad in Gujarat as Reliance Capital & Finance Trust Limited. The name Reliance Capital came into effect on January 5, 1995. In 2002, Reliance Capital Ltd shifted its registered office to Jamnagar in Gujarat before it finally moved to Mumbai in Maharashtra, in 2006.
In 2006, Reliance Capital Ventures Limited merged with Reliance Capital. With this merger the shareholder base of Reliance Capital rose from 0.15 million shareholders to 1.3 million. Reliance Capital India is an India based financial services holding company with a diversified portfolio. The company is a constituent of Nifty Midcap 50 and MSCI Global Small Cap Index, is a part of the Reliance Group. It is amongst India's leading and most valuable financial services companies in the private sector. As on March 31, 2017, the net worth of the company stood at Rs 16,548 crore, while its total assets as on the date stood at Rs 82,209 crore. In Fortune India 500 list of 2018, Reliance Capital was ranked as the 77th largest corporation in India with 5th rank in 'Non-Banking Finance' category.
Reliance Capital has businesses in asset management, mutual funds, life insurance and general insurance, commercial finance, home finance, stock broking, wealth management services, distribution of financial products, private equity, asset reconstruction, proprietary investments and other activities in financial services. The company operates across India and has over 20 million customers and workforce of approximately 15, 595 as of May 1, 2017.
Reliance Power:
The company was incorporated on 17 January 1995 as Bawana Power Private Limited and changed its name to Reliance Delhi Power Private Limited in February 1995. Its name was changed to Reliance Energy Generation Limited in March 2004, and finally to Reliance Power Limited in July 2007. Earlier, Reliance Power Limited was called Reliance Energy Generation Limited. This company was created in order to establish, build, operate and maintain power projects in India and International markets. The company has the largest collection of power projects in the private sector in India that is based on thermal energy and renewable energy. It also runs power generation, transmission and distribution businesses in other parts of Maharashtra, Goa and Andhra Pradesh.
    Reliance Infrastructure:
Formerly known as Reliance Energy Limited, Reliance Infrastructure Limited and Bombay Suburban Electric Supply are Indian Private Sector Enterprises involved in power generation, defence construction and infrastructure. The predecessor company, Reliance Energy Limited, came into existence when it took over an 83-year-old government undertaking, the Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) in 2002. BSES was originally founded in October 1929. The company entered the road building industry in 2006 with two National Highway projects in Tamil Nadu (Namakkal-Karur and Dindigul-Samayanallur), both sections of National Highway 44 (formerly NH 7). Meanwhile, in April 2008, Reliance Energy Limited had changed its name to Reliance Infrastructure Limited.
 Reliance Communications:
Reliance Communications was founded in India on 31 July 2002 as Reliance Infocomm Limited with the introduction of its nationwide CDMA2000 service. The company introduced its GSM service in 2008. It began using MIMO technology in 2011 to improve the quality of its 3G service, providing a data rate of up to 28 Mbit/s. Reliance Communications was a highly popular network provider in India. It became Reliance Communications Limited in 2006.It was an Indian mobile network provider headquartered in Navi Mumbai that offered voice and 2G and 3G data services. The company ended its CDMA operations in 2016, and migrated its subscribers to its GSM and LTE networks by September the same year. In February 2019, the company filed for bankruptcy as it was unable to sell assets to repay its debt. As of March 2019, the company has reworked its strategy and continues to operate fixed-line communications, data center services, enterprise solutions as well as subsea cable networks under the banner name, "The New Reliance Communications".
Acquisition of Digicable and MTS:
On 1 July 2010, the board of Reliance Communications confirmed about the acquisition of Digicable India's largest cable network in all-stock deal. The new entity named as Reliance Digicom. It integrated RCOM's DTH tv, IPTV and Retail Broadband Operations with Digicable.
On 14 January 2016, Reliance Communications announced that it had acquired Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL, operating as MTS India) in an all-stock deal. SSTL received a 10 per cent stake in Reliance Communications after repaying its existing debt. Reliance Communications would assume responsibility for instalments that MTS owed the government for spectrum purchases, amounting to ₹392 crore every year for 10 years. As a result of the deal, Reliance acquired MTS India's subscribers and SSTL's spectrum in the 850 MHz band.
Reliance Naval and Engineering:
It was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of SKIL Infrastructure in 1997 at Pipavav, Gujarat. In 2005, with funding from major Indian financial institutions, the company was spun off and registered as Pipavav Shipyard Limited. Pipavav Shipyard Limited raised additional financing from a number of private equity investors in 2007. The company went public in 2009 with listings on the BSE and the NSE.
Pipavav Shipyard is the first corporate shipyard to be granted clearance to build warships and other vessels for the Indian Navy, though the initial licence limits this to up to 5 ships per year.
    Reliance Entertainment:
Reliance Entertainment Pvt Ltd is a division of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group handling its media and entertainment business, across content and distribution platforms. It forayed into the largely untapped video rental market in India by launching BIGFlix. On 15th July 2009, Anil Ambani and Steven Spielberg announced a joint venture with funding of $825 million. It was in April 2010 that the company acquired a 50 percent stake in Codemasters and in later in 2015, Anil Ambani joined hands with filmmaker Steven Spielberg to form a new joint venture Amblin Partners.
The key content initiatives are across movies, music, sports, gaming, Internet & mobile portals, leading to direct opportunities in delivery across the emerging digital distribution platforms: digital cinema, IPTV, DTH and mobile TV.
 Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital:
The 750 bed multi-speciality hospital became operational in the first week of 2009. The project was initiated in 1999 by Nitu Mandke as a large-scale heart hospital, but ran into troubles after his death in 2003. Subsequently, it was completed by the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group. It had the first 3-room intra-operative MRI suite (IMRIS) in Asia. In 2016, the hospital announced that it would be setting up 18 cancer-care centres in rural Maharashtra.
Reliance Health Insurance Limited:
A part of the Reliance Capital, Reliance Health Insurance is one of the leaders in the private health insurance sector of India. It has more than 139 offices across India.
As of now, the group companies of Reliance Naval, Reliance Communications and most of the verticals of Reliance Entertainment are staring at insolvency proceedings given the colossal debt-burden. Furthermore, Anil Ambani is now looking at asset-monetization to service the 9000 crore debts.

And i really appreciate their help because they just not suggested me places but also advice how and when i should visit few places to explore it’s real glory and taste few very famous food of city. By this way i understand one thing that suggestions are always helpful even if you traveling your own way because you will not find everything on internet.
I was reached in city by 5:30 am and winter had no mercy. Okhi cyclone was just passed and i was feeling it’s effect there by much cold as city is very close to gulf of kutch, ocean. Jay arrange bike for me there as i had much places to visit and without private vehicle it is not possible. So, Dipak (Jay’s friend) came at early morning to help me. We drunk tea and then he shown me whole city just within 2 hours. We tried Pakwan (very delicious food) then he handover me his bike and i traveled all places again to take photos. Dipak is really amiable.
Jamnagar is well known as Paris of Saurashtra and fifth largest city in Gujarat. This region ruled by Jams emperor and then Nawanagar became Jamnagar. World’s largest oil refinery by Reliance industries has established in this district. There are few more amazing facts related to this region covers in below places description.
Let’s explore why i really like this city.
1. Lakhota Lake
This was the first place i visited in the city and journey started with good place. It reminded my Kankariya lake (Ahmedabad). This lake is really good place to walk, exercise, spend time, photography, boat-ride and garden.
Dilip (Friend) informed the lake was very natural and beautiful previously but after new structure it become attractive to others but not native. Now, because of new structure navigate some part of city you need to roam whole lake because of barrier or road block.
At morning, i walked almost half hour but at time of evening i walked 2 whole round of lake and it was really so memorable time of this amazing journey. You will surely get peace of mind here.
  2. Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary
First time i realised i should have good camera because for photography with far distance iPhone is not enough. Although i tried to captured few photos to remind me my journey for this location.
This sanctuary charged few money but it is worth if you are visiting this place on right time, i mean early morning or evening while winter or monsoon gives its seasonal effects. You will surely found many birds and few natural places which will be indeed worth of your visit.
One thing i admire about this place is they arrange and maintain this sanctuary very well. You have separate path to walk and enjoy with not disturbing natural things. This is must visit place if you are near to Jamnagar city.
  3. Saifee Tower (Vora No Hajiro)
This is first attraction you get while entering in the city. The tower is defines you reach at one of the very popular religious place of Vohra community. I wanted to visit this from inside but they not allowed me because i need to take permission and i tried but there was no right person available.
  4. Hindu Crematorium
I was really shocked when Jay (friend) suggested me to visit cemetery because usually no one suggest this kind of place but when i reached there i got different atmosphere than what i had in my mind. Obviously, peoples comes here for funeral activities but garden and picturization of Ramyan – old tale was really nice.
I found few peoples came here to spend their time and some groups for photography and it was surprising for me. This Crematorium is very near to Vhora’s hazira.
  5. Darbar Hall
Darbargadh was semi-circular palace of royal residence of Jam Saheb, ruling prince of the city. Now a days, this place seems like location of local store and individual business. I don’t understand how government not able to care for such ancient places.
  6. Ayurved University
It was election day on Saturday and one of friend informed me they will not allow me to visit this university from inside and i took as little challenge and visited every corner.
I found this university contains old as well as new structure just like Ayurvedic concepts with modern theory. I had not much time to visit buildings from inside but as i guess few are educational institutes and few are for hospital.
  7. Khambhaliya Gate
In old time Jamnagar city was covered with five gate and this is one of the gate remains with better situation in today’s time. Now, local government took responsibility to care and made a museum inside this huge gate which demonstrate the oldest Jamnagar and it’s history.
  8. Khijada Temple
I was asking to native about near by places to visit and got named of this temple. In noon time, this location served me better place to pass peaceful time. The tree on the temple is really different attraction.
  9. Dhanvantari Temple
Opposite of Ayurved university, this huge temple attracted me. At early morning, native were playing cricket on the ground. But when i visited temple at noon time, i got shocked that they closed because of election. I really don’t understand why and how.
  10. Bala Hanuman Temple
When i heard about a fact for this temple, continuous chanting of the “Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” since August 1st, 1964 and named in guinness world record book for continues chanting of ram dhun. I was so disparated to visit and finally it satisfied later in evening.
It is really unbelievable that they are continuous chanting of religious song from almost 54 years. As i believe, this defines the patience and belief in god.
  11. Pawan Chakki
On second day, Sunday, i was willing to visit places out of city but because of winter, atmosphere created captivating fog. The each location covered with fog and city looked more beautiful. I was enjoying that natural atmosphere and listed it here to remember.
  12. Kileshwar, Barda Hills
    13. Navalakha Temple, Ghumli
After Kileshwar, this place took 15 km distance journey but it is totally worth. Ancient structure is always stay my major attraction.
These temples build in era of 10th century and have image of ruler Solanki architecture. Near by surrounded mountains increase the glory of this temple. In ancient time, how this place served beautifully scenery to peoples in that time. There are detailed information related to place, you find in one of images.
  14. Ashapura Temple, Ghumli
You are at Ghumli and you not going to get on top of this hill then you will surely miss biggest opportunity to view mountains scenery. There is safe way to walk and it is taking almost half hour to get on top.
Sometimes, i feel it’s good that devotees created temples on such hills so we can visit it and get surprise look of mountains, water stream, forest, open sky and much more. This nature is part of every human’s life.
  15. Milan Ragdawada, Lalpur
Friend insisted me to get taste of this food at Lalpur and when i reached here and tried food i started to think about real taste of food in Saurashtra region. The Ragda was so delicious and tasty that i tried twice. Other food is also good to taste.
I really recommending this food at this location. I wish in near future i can try it again. Don’t want to forget the taste of delicious ragda.
  16. Sasoi Dam
Water always stayed first attraction to me so i was waiting to visit this dam but because of time constraints i reached late here and it was about sun set. Although it was giving very attractive look to me about dam and sky.
  17. Ranjit Sagar Dam
When i reached here, sun was already settled but peoples around there not less and enjoying at fullest. Because of Sunday, many visitors were come and enjoying the scenery of popular dam of Jamnagar city.
The Garden opposite of dam is also stayed attraction to many peoples. I found crowd and many families enjoying dinner as well.
  18. Windmill
On the way to Kileshwar from Jamnagar, i found this windmill and get so attached with the structure because it was first time i was seeing windmill in real. It is so huge and the sound from it so adorable at first sight.
Near to Lalpur, i got windmill station and on that road there are lots of windmills till Dwarka.

  Thanks for visiting. 🙂
