Do you think Jon will love Sansa or D in the books?
I think Jon already loves Sansa as part of his family, even if they weren't as close as he was with the other Starklings. I think they will be the first Starklings to meet again, and that fact will be important to deepen the bond between them that already exists and even evolve into something different, like romantic love.
About his aunt, unlike a big part of the fandom, I never saw the "hints" and "parallels" (more like antiparallels) and "foreshadowing" of their romance in the books. That blue flower in D's visions is more about Jon and his true parentage (and even any daughter of Winterfell), than true everlasting love between Jon and aunty. I don't even know if they will meet in TWOW. According to the author, D and Tyrion will meet in the last part of TWOW and they both are in Essos. So I suppose Jon will meet his aunt in ADOS and I don't know if there's enough time to develop deep feelings between them, no matter the nature of those feelings.
The show did two things that aren't good for their predicted "true love/romance/affair:" 1) enemies to lovers trope, that the author doesn't like very much; and, 2) a repetition of Jon's involvement with Ygritte, that we already know that it did not end very well after the 8 chapters they shared . . . .
It is possible that D will be attracted to Jon, before or after his true parentage revelation, because, after all, Targs usually marry each other, but the fact that Jon's claim to the IT could be stronger than hers can make them enemies more than lovers.
Kit Harington was asked if he believes Jon will be able to love again after D and he said: "I hope so," and he is the one that is pushing for a sequel about Jon Snow; so, I doubt that D will be his one true love or something like the shippers believe.
Thanks for your message :)

GOT writers giving Jonerice lines like "I wish we could stay here a thousand years" "we would be very old" while giving "siblings" Jon and Sansa lines like "Where will you go?" "Where will WE go." Yeah, I'm gonna need the secret Jonsas in the GOT writers' room to stand up because WHAT WAS THE REASONNNN.
not to go down the jonsa was supposed to be canon but they got cold feet at the last second road but jonsa was supposed to be canon but they got cold feet at the last second

Regarding that post about 'Magical Targ Gene Attraction TM~✨'- as someone who has tried to read Jonerice fics before, some of those fics really do feel like that. Just instant attraction and pulled by magic cuz they cant be bothered to write genuine connection and actual bonding and chemistry.
Honestly? At the end of the day the main reason why I dislike this ship so much is because it gives me way too much Pretty White People couple you see in a lot of YA romances. Its so boring and def not the type of ship I want for a series like ASOIAF
(post referenced)
Yes, boring is about the only way to describe it.
Magical leads with elemental imagery are heirs to fallen dynasty, propelled into leadership positions in run-up to apocalyptic struggle, somehow inevitably fall in love to reinforce each other's Very Special Status and, thus mutually amplified, fulfill their magical lead destinies - magically.
Tumblr media
It's the most superficial and bland reading in the world. All tropes, no substance, no twist, no development, no meaningful engagement with the central questions of the book series. I saw it be a popular theory in the fandom way back when I was a casual reader and show watcher and had never heard about jonsa yet. I was bored to tears and went right back to focusing on my darlings Sansa and Arya and Jaime and Brienne - characters whose plots seemed actually connected to character development.
Jonerys - especially this unsurprising idea of an inescapable 🌟magical connection🌟 - has nothing to do with who they are as characters or the actual meat of their individual arcs. It, in fact, utterly relies on ignoring those things. It almost requires their attraction to be forced by external factors to overcome the logical barriers inherent in their very characters.
That's why it felt so startling and satisfying when the show seemed to veer right past that stupid theory and let them be enemies in Season 7 at first. Suddenly, there was logic, compelling and consistent conflict, a deliberate crushing of that bland development everyone had been taking for granted. It was exciting! It made sense!
(I was far away from discovering jonsa as a theory then, btw.)
And then they took that away. And it felt just as bland and unmotivated as the pairing was always inevitably going to be. It relied on ignoring their characters and their arcs as it was always inevitably going to have to. Because there's no 🌟magical attraction🌟 in an adult series about political power struggles and ethical ruling and conflict management in the face of apocalyptic destruction. Only a yawning, underwhelmed "why?"
I know why I don't believe this couple will be a thing in the books. It's bad.

I guess that’s the one consolation for all shippers in the fandom. No matter how disappointed we are by the fate of our beloveds, at least it wasn’t as bad as J*nerys.

The subset of Jon stans who are obsessed with him being handsome are almost always the Jonerice shippers who think as soon as Jon learns about his parentage he will become the Ultimate Targ Starkgaryen (lmao) Prince. They are deeply annoyed that he looks nothing like Rhaegar, is not pointed out as being particularly handsome by anyone in the books, and instead looks like a plain, long-faced, brown haired Northern without a lick of PuRe ValYRiAn bEaUtY lol. It's actually hilarious.
They even come up with headcanons like, 'If Barristan were to see Jon, the resemblance to Rhaegar would be immediately noticeable to him.' LMAO. The cope is unreal.
Oh, trust me, I am fully aware that they pray to their pillows every night for all the melanin to be stripped from his body after he's resurrected.

Ran across a post from a Jon/Jonerice stan talking shit about Aegon and went on their blog out of curiosity and the first post I see is a poll tournament they set up so Jonerice shippers could vote for their 'preferred Targaryen Baby names' for Jonerice's future kids lmfaooo. Ratgar and Lianna are currently the top names in the running. I just........lmaoo soifjsdfnskdfnsnfsnfjk the fact that these assholes got literally nothing they wanted back in 2019, in fact they got the absolute opposite of what they wanted, and will never get what they want from GRRM either still brings a smile to my face. The fact that these people will likely see a Snow sequel were Jon is off falling in love with some hot wilding woman before they get any new Dany content is truly *chef's kiss*
They stepped on a rake in 2019 after years of people pointing the rake out to them and with TWOW they're proudly going to step on an even bigger rake lmao.
TWOW's release is going to be so chaotic and entertaining.

Theories like Freypies and Jojen Paste aren't so bad IMO. Its the boring ones like thinking the Starks and D*ny and T*rion will get along or the three headed dragon theory where Jonerice and T*rion will save tbe world together as this group of scrappy underdogs who rose to the top and be heroes that suck so bad because they're so cookie-cutter boring. At least the first 2 theories for examples are at least interesting
I’m sorry who and who will do what as a group of who???????
I swear they read the books with their eyes closed

I swear nothing is the worst more than this so called "book" fans who in their book content always claim that they are the right in their theories and act like Sansa is not an important character, there is this url called bookhouseStarksource where if you find any Sansa content at all bet it is going to be a negative one in the sense that Sansa is the Mean girl and how Arya is going to be a biggest prom queen of the Westeros, also that blog is very much a pro Jonerice and pro Ship girl x Jon
But- but the main five! and Lady's death! There's no way she's important to the endgame!
I'm sorry, did Sansa's snow castle mean nothing to any of you????? Did we all gloss over, "If I am ever queen, I'll make them love me"? Of course, all of this is completely irrelevant, and Arya will be prom queen in the north, and Sansa will be hit by a bus.
And it's a shame, because Sansa being excluded from the rest of Stark fandom goes against the grain of what the text presents. Ned didn't give us a soppy speech about Sansa and Arya being sisters 4eva for nothing.
I actually get pretty irritated because the source of most this is from Arya's early AGOT chapters, where Arya is the most basic 90s fantasy tomboy heroine, who is angry at her "perfect" girly sister (who really is just chilling there for the most part), and not a single one of the Sansa antis have been able to move on from that.

Very refreshing to see someone who hates J0nsa, Jonria, Jonerice and Jongritte because I too dislike all those ships with a passion. lol.
I don't ship Jon with anyone at all, but his four main ships all so happen to be ones I hate with a passion. Like his three main ships are all incest and his other ship is with his rapist.
How about shipping Jon living just a quiet, happy life with Ghost? How about that ship?
Like you look up anti jonerys posts and you only see jonsa posts, look up anti jonsa posts you see jonerys and jonrya posts like oh my god why does everyone ship Jon with such horrible pairings? Why do people all secretly hate him?

I'm not a Jonsa shipper, but I would call myself a Jonsa ally because I love how mad it makes the rest of the fandom, but the one thing that raises my eyebrow is the Jonnel 'One Eye' Stark and Sansa Stark pairing in the Stark family tree lmao. It's either the most obvious foreshadowing ever or trolling from GRRM there is literally no other explanation lol.
Also, I love how people never want to bring it up because if there was a Jonnel Stark and Arya Stark/Danaela Stark (lmao) marriage in the family tree we would never hear the end of it....like ever.
Yeah the Jonnel-Sansa change that GRRM made in the Stark family tree is one big hint 👀 to something that may happen in the main series.
But, since Jonnel-Sansa was an advuncular marriage of an uncle and his half-niece, the jonerii bunch claims that, at best, it foreshadows another advuncular marriage between an aunt and her nephew.
Then I wonder what they think about George changing Jaehaerys list of children to put a daughter called Daenerys that died of "shivers" while he was writing Fire and Blood Vol. I???
Thanks for your message :)

do you think jonrice will become canon in the books
Before S7 I never saw them as a future/eventual romantic couple. If I have some doubts, they come from the show only.
But even in the show, many viewers have made their cases for the romance to be a show invention, and their takes are very convincing.
For me show jonerice (the only one that exists) was Jon/Ygritte 2.0, and that will never be a good omen. D&D copied a lot from Jon/Ygritte scenes and repeated them for jonerice. But they also copied from other canon couples. For example, boat sex is more from Theon and the captain's daughter than from Sam and Gilly, the drawings in the caves at Dragonstone from Arianne and Daemon Sand. So yeah show jonerice was really all made up by D&D taking things from here and there.

R/L isn't even a primary ship for anyone lmaoooooo it's basically a secondary ship for people who ship either Jonerice or Jonathan x Arianna 'I thought all the Dornish are swarthy and dark!!!' Stroganoff who think R/L is the ultimate foreshadowing for those two ships lmao. This is why IDC about R/L shippers because it's not even a main ship for them. Tyrion and the sex workers he interacts with have more romantic shipping content than those two losers. Once again thanking Mr. Martini for his lack of content, output, and refusal to finish the series for making this possible!
the superior ship is Jon and Satin

Thinking about Jonerice again and like LMAOOOOOO. "Kit this is an epic love story, we need you to look passionately in love with Dorito." Kit: "Best I can do is look pissed off, scared, annoyed, and constipated, but alright." It's not even bad acting imo, like we know he can do romance from the Jon/Ygritte storyline and can look happy from his scenes with friends/family?? Like, he deadass did not want to act that romance out SDFNDFSNDFNDSFNNFSFNS.
kit saw that 78% of his lines from s7 onwards were my queen so he decided to show up on set with one facial expression 😐 for the rest of the show he really said if ur gonna do me like that fine. imma do u exactly the same
d&d with a gun to kits head crying begging shitting: one genuine emotion pls kit PLS
kit: I love u my queen 😐💀😐

I randomly decided to go through the general J*n Sn*w tag and lmfao it's like the same 10 Jonerice and Jonria stans with their ice cold takes but I saw one of them say that they couldn't wait to see Jon, Dani, and Aria to "team up" and be best buddies in the books and I just lmaooooooo. These people really think they are reading a YA book crossed with an MCU Disney plus tv show BUT only for their fav characters. Everyone else? Especially the characters they hate? It's death, destruction, and grimdark all the way. Key-5ers thinking GRRM will end the series, if he ever does, with the "Key 5" all being best buddies that easily defeat the Others and then go on to plan Jonerice's wedding is nothing short of hysterical.
"A Song of Five Underdogs Defeating A Nebulous Threat Against Mankind And Never Facing Consequences For Murder Or Rape Because They Had A Tough Childhood So They Had Their Reasons Okay? This Is Grey-On-Grey Morality, There Is No Place For Your Nitpicking and Slavery Apologism or Ableism or Classism. If they were sad as a kid or someone called them ugly once they GET TO KILL OKAY????!"
A riveting exploration of how those kids you envied in highschool will finally get what's coming to them and you'll be crowned prom queen of the North*.

I think Dany is compared to Naerys because of superficial similarities. Targ looks, forced marriage, abusive brother and incest. Because of prediction that Jon targ name is Aemon, fans think Aemon-Naerys are Jonerice. But Sansa and Cersei too shares similarities with Naerys. Jonsa represent positive mirror while Jaime-Cersei represent more dark version of Aemon-Naerys. Infact Jonerice is foil to Aemon-Naerys.
Perfectly said, dear anon.
