Yuzuru Hanyu at the Four Continents Championship!
I want to share with you all Massimilano Ambesi’s posts on this HISTORICAL achievement... by winning the 4CC, Yuzuru Hanyu is the first Single Men skater to complete a Super Slam! https://www.facebook.com/massimiliano.ambesi/photos/a.277972812365504/1470080849821355/?type=3&theater&hc_location=ufi  Yuzuru HANYU didn’t take part to the first official practice of the Four Continents Championship, and, unless something new comes up, he should miss the second one too. By looking at the collocation and choice of the elements, he is presenting completely revised programs compared to the past. The impression is that the positioning and the choice of the elements has been done in order to maximize the quality and to earn as many points as possible on the GOE. Regarding the short program (Chopin Ballade No. 1), the 3A is put in Bonus Zone, instead of the 4T+3T combo, and the sitspin with change of foot (CSSp) goes in the second half, compared to the Olympic version. 4S, 4T+3T, x3A Base Value – 45.8 (BV+Max Goe 66.2) Max score available – 116.20 The free skate (Seimei 3.0), because of the new rules compared to the 2017-2018 season (the program is 30 seconds shorter and there’s one less jump), can be considered never seen before. There are a lot of changes, both regarding jumps and spins, as we have here a flying camel spin with change foot (FCCSp). In particular, the first triple Axel is made as third jump element, a positioning that lets us imagine future developments. It is, in any case, likely that this is a work in progress version. 4Lz, 4S, 3A, 3F, x4T+3T, x4T+1Eu+3S, x3A+2T Base Value – 92.63 (BV+Max Goe 132.93) Max score available– 232,93 P.S. It is still to be understood if both lay-outs will be confirmed on the field, considered that there are frequently mistakes in the communications.

The Waikiki Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul was the scene of the latest of Yuzuru HANYU’s sport endeavours, winner, for the first time in his career, of the Four Contintents Champaionship. The success has been beyond significative because hit allowed him to make the so-called “SUPERSLAM”, becoming the first Single men skater to win everything he could both in Junior and Senior major competitions. To give an idea of the greatness and of the agonistic longevity of the Japanese Ace, it is sufficient to highlight that already nine years have passed from the first podium got in the 4CC in 2011.
Today’s program wasn’t a bed of roses. The quadruple Lutz, made impeccably in the warm-up, was completed with a sort of step-out and putting a hand on the ice. Moreover, both quadruple Toeloops gave some problems, as the first was saved fighting tooth and nail, while the second, with a barely sufficient rotation, ended in a fall.  The other jump elements were executed impeccably, with a bonus mention for the quadruple Salchow and the two triple Axels, the second of those in combination with a triple Toeloop. There’s still a doubt on the call for unclear edge in the triple flip, that was completed without any problem. Taking into consideration that the program was “put together” in few weeks, today’s result is more than satisfying, but, it will be necessary to improve the physical condition in order to raise the bar. Hanyu missed the total 300 points for a few cents, going above 290 point for the 16th time, which had never happened before.
Runner up, with the highest score in his career, we have Jason BROWN (274.82), who was able to complete eight triple jumps, included well-made Axels for him. The USA athlete also got the highest score of the day in the program components.
Japanese Yuma KAGIYAMA’s (270.61) performance can’t go unnoticed, third at his international debut in a senior competition. The sixteen-year-old, born in the trade, executed two high quality quadruple Toeloops, adding seven triple jumps, included two Axels.
KAGIYAMA preeceded by a hair-breadth the Chinese Boyang JIN (267.67), that missed two of the four planned quadruples, and the Korean Junhwan CHA (265.43), penalized for some jumps with not quite sufficient rotation, but who was able to skate a qualitative high first part of the Free skate.Yuzuru HANYU gave to Japan the 8th success in the Men Single of the Four Continents Championship, one more than Canada.
https://www.facebook.com/massimiliano.ambesi/videos/781345589026589/ Yuzuru HANYU took a bit more than 10 years to complete the first SUPERSLAM in the history of the Men Single Figure Skating.🏅04/12-2009, JGP Final, Tokyo (JPN) 🏅11/03-2010, J.WCH, The Hague (NED) 🏅06/12-2013, GP Final, Fukuoka (JPN) 🏅14/02-2014, OWG, Sochi (RUS) 🏅28/03-2014, WCH, Saitama (JPN) 🏅09/02-2020, 4CC, Seoul (KOR) Before him, the skaters able to do this have been, in order, the Korean Yu-Na Kim (2010), the Russian Maxim Trankov (2014), the Canadese Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (2016), the Ukraine with German passport Aljona Savchenko (2018) and the Russian Alina Zagitova (2019).The twice world and Olympic champion has an open streak of international competitions where he got to the podium: 26 since 2014 (16|9|1).

Road to Worlds With Team Jackson
Name: Bartosz Czauderna What country are you competing for? Poland Favorite place to train? Uganda, White Nile How many World Championships have you competed in before? 5! :O the time flies! What are your previous placements at Worlds? 8th in K1M , 5th in K1SM Argentina 2017 26th in K1M, 13th in K1SM Ottawa 2015 21st in K1M, 6th in K1SM Nantahala 2013 29th in K1M, 9th in K1SM Plattling 2011 21st in K1JM, Thun 2009
How does the level of competition at World Championships compare to any other freestyle competition? Level is always crazy ! People work really hard and it is very interesting for me how different regions tend to develop their skills in slightly different directions which makes whole competition very interesting and difficult to predict any results!
What’s your favorite part about World Championships? Or if you have never been to a Worlds before what are you most excited for? (Location, people, party, competing, training, etc.) My favorite part is about meeting people from all around the world! We all travel there for a long time, some of us living there for months and you get to spend this time with people who share same passion, goal and ideas as you training hard and dedicating their life for what they life. They become your family and that family last for all your life. Cant wait to see family again!
What are you doing to prepare for the 2019 Freestyle World Championships? Sort is known for being a huge and powerful but hard to predict hole. Luckily Jackson Kayak got 4.0 which is slightly bigger and helps a lot with control and reteinability in such features. I spent winter in Uganda paddling some big water features then i trained quite a bit on flatwater to get my technical tricks in. Now it is time for open water again and slowly start preparing the ride!
What are some things you think you can do to improve your placement in Sort? Securing control and reteinability is key in Sort and I think new boat will help with that. The tricks are there – can not rush them but have to chain them into one long combo slowly executed Do you have any pre-competition traditions? Yoga, Warm-up, short paddle before ! I like playing games to relax too. Favorite pump up song? Meditation and silence for concetration.. and then anything that gets my head into ridim! Do you normally make a routine that you practice and use in competition or do you just send it with no plan? I always have a full routine and couple alternatives in case I get lost, feature denies something, time runs out, fellow competitors performance affects my run.. Im working on a lot of scenarios in my trainings! I like pairing tricks up into groups to be able to juggle them without thinking. What is your goal at the 2019 World Championships? Winning a WCH medal : )! What tricks or combos do you think you will put into your rides? I always want to finish with a cow flip! (Lunar, tricky, loop) but it will be tough one there as couple moves tricks are more likely to flush! For Sort plans are different then my usual ride plans.. Im focusing more on getting groups of them together and being month before competition starts I hope to be able to see what works best, especially after the hole is changed What are your early predictions for who is going to do well in Sort? mm. Definetly Quim and Dane are people to watch. But with any top15 from Men is currently paddling at such insane level that everything could happen in Sort! In Women it will be interesting to see if Claire’O makes a come back and her fight with Hitomi and my another favorite one is junior ladies, Ottilie vs Sage? Those girls are pushing it so hard! Junior Men are just unpredictable for me.. If you have been to a previous World Championships, what are some tips or secrets you want to share with first time Worlds Competitors? Try to meet as many people as you can! Become a part of the family , everybody is friendly and welcoming!

FIM CEV Repsol set for two rounds in Jerez
Tumblr media
After over a month break from Round 2 in Portimão, the FIM CEV Repsol riders are back in action at the iconic Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto for Rounds 3 and 4. That’s right, two race days – on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of August – await the FIM Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Hawkers European Talent Cup riders in Andalucia. Moto3™Jr WCh joint leaders Pedro Acosta (Team MT-Foundation77) and Xavier Artigas (Leopard Impala Junior Team) are ready to go head-to-head again, and double Portimão race winner Yari Montella (Team Ciatti – Speed Up) will be aiming to continue his dominant start in the Moto2™ class. Meanwhile in the HETC, David Alonso (Openbank Aspar Team) remains undefeated after three wins from three. Acosta and Artigas share one win and one second place each in the Moto3™Jr WCh so far in 2020, seeing them sit on 45 points after the opening two races. The combined difference at the finish line between the duo in Estoril and Portimão is 0.020, so we could be set for another cracker in Jerez. The Spaniards claimed P3 and P4 in southern Spain in 2019, Artigas beating Acosta to the final podium spot in Race 1, so they have history of battling at Jerez too. However, it won’t just be between those two for the win. Read the full article
