English Release: Seven Seas Entertainment is currently releasing this series in English under the title of Classroom of the Elite.

It’s finally time for the last trial of the 1st year. This time, each class has to pick out activities that they are confident they could win. These activities can be written tests, card games, sports events, etc. Then, classes will be chosen to pair off and face each other in seven of these activities. One member of each class is chosen to head up the “control tower” and decide who is participating in each event. Ayanokouji is chosen to participate in this activity because he got the Protection Point last volume and it seems like Arisu will get her wish: a showdown with Ayanokouji. Meanwhile, Hirata has changed since the events of last volume and the expulsion of Yamauchi. He’s become distant and has been avoiding getting involved in the new trial.

This volume didn’t quite meet my expectations as the climax of the first year arc. I was really expecting the second and third years to have more to do with the plot but I don’t think Nagumo showed up even once this volume. I found that there was a lot of lead-up to the trial but the trial itself was over too quickly and I would have liked to have seen all of the characters that we have seen grow get more of a chance to shine. They get some small moments, like Sudou not being as quick to anger, but I wanted more than that. It didn’t feel like the ending of a series and I guess that’s a good thing as it isn’t and there’s still a side volume and a whole other series to go but I wanted more of a sense of satisfaction and closure.

Still, this is an excellent and entertaining volume so I can’t be too mad. The showdown between Ayanokouji and Arisu is as exciting as expected and I enjoyed that this trial tested Ayanokouji on his weak point: getting to know his classmates. Because he is in charge of which classmate is participating in which event, he needs to know who is good at what and who does not get along with who. Aside from a couple of people, Ayanokouji is closed off from his classmates so of course he knows very little about them so he needs help from Kei, Kikyou, whose information is never guaranteed to be truthful, and Hirata, who is refusing to talk to anyone. This is an interesting situation and it makes Ayanokouji less of an OP protagonist.

Cover boy this time is Kouenji and cover girl is Meiyui. Kouenji is starting to participate more in the trials but the others still don’t understand him. They don’t know when he’s going to show up and do his best for the class or when he’s going to skip the trial entirely. Still, they can’t deny that he is an asset when he does show up so they’ve got to figure out whether they can rely on him this time. Meiyui is a student from China and gets along with everyone. She has a crush on Hirata and is the only one to continue to try to communicate with him as the others see him as a lost cause. I know by now that the characters on the cover do not necessarily get the main focus in the volume but I was expecting these two to get more to do in the climax. At least they actually did have important parts to play in this volume, unlike last volume’s cover characters.

Next up is volume 11.5 which is the true end of the 1st-year arc and I hope it satisfies me more than this volume did in that regard.

(EDIT: I wrote this entry while riding the Shinkansen, because I had time, finally. But be warned, never do that. Shinkansen are great, yes, but there are lots of tunnels and even though there's wifi on board, it goes on and off whenever because of said tunnels. I saved this post as a draft and it didn't appear. In the end, it actually saved it (thanks wow), but I didn't knew that for hours. In order to not have that, just... don't.

Anyway, now the actual entry lol.) I didn't forget this blog, I just didn't have time to post anything anywhere. But now I'm three hours in the train on the way to Kyushu, so I may share something new.

Let's go in order!

First day in Tokyo I spent with an old friend from university and together we went to Hachiouji, a part of Tokyo in the west. The suspected castle was on the mountain (it was not, but we didn't know that yet) so we climbed the mountain, which was a pretty nice trail through the forest. So much nature and birds! It was a bit cloudy, so the view was about 90% great. Still, I take what I can get.

The climb took about 40 minutes and on top were two shrines, one of which they recently built. It was so strange to see a brand new shrine. It didn't create a shrine feeling, really.

On the top we finally realised that there was, uh, in fact no castle, even though there are mainly ruins now. We checked the map and hey! It's on the bottom.

So, back down again. Minor/major note: I injured my knee a few years ago, so going down a mountain at the speed we did was a pretty bad idea. We were back down in 20 minutes. (You can imagine that that was not good at all huh.) We quickly checked the road to the ruins, but we didn't have that much time anymore, so we went back to the station. By foot it took about 30 minutes one way.

We took the train back to Tokyo where we stopped at Kouenji for the Kisho Weather Shrine. We just made it, because they close at 4pm. We bought an omamori (which come in form of teruteru dolls), then we went back. My friend needed about anhour to go back home and wanted to go before rush hours started. That's why we parted and I stayed in Tokyo Station to check out the stores. Since I still had time and wanted to evade the rush hour as well, I went to Akihabara to go to Mandrake. There I found some doujinshi that I've been looking for. Some aren't sold anymore, so that was fortunate.

Finally, I went back to my hotel.

(I feel like I cut this very short lol. Not used to travel blogging so far, I usually just ramble about things.)

2 days until Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution is released

At this rate, I'm running out of things to post. But for the sake of this post, I'm actually doing something related to the game.

Now, since the game's US release date has yet to be revealed (since we only got the year of it's release, which is 2024), and that it will probably take until after the game's for the dub cast to reveal on Twitter that their the voices of the new characters, I've made a headcanon for how the cast would sound in English.

The first ones would be the Failure Goddesses - Pippih, Jagaa, and Reedio. For Pippih, it will be Lisa Reimold (Framme from Fire Emblem: Engage; Liliana Pinnata from Death end re;Quest; Kurumi from Lycoris Recoil; Turi from Ascendance of a Bookworm). For Jagaa, it will be Amber May (The Narrator from Komi can't Communicate; Dehya from Genshin Impact; Yanqing from Honkai: Star Rail; Kami from Ba Da Bean). For Reedio, my closest suggestion would be Faye Mata, who previously portrayed Ai Masujima in Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart, God Eater in Megadimension Neptunia VII, and Paix St. Gliss in Super Neptunia RPG, as well as being the voice of Aqua from KonoSuba, Malty S. Melromarc from The Rising of the Shield Hero, Astolfo from Fate/Apocrypha, and Kagami Tsurugi from Miraculous Ladybug. My other suggestions for Reedio would be either Emily Frongillo (Yumi Funaberi from Shin Ultraman, Chica from Fazbear and Friends, and a few additional voices from Arte), Sam Slade (Abigail Bloodroose from Epic Seven; Janet from Brawl Stars; Title (Nut) from Dislyte; Huwa and Jiangli from Genshin Impact), Anairis Quiñones (Nessa from Pokemon: Twilight Wings, Miriko from My Hero Academia, Echidna from Re:Zero, Miyuki Shiba from The Irregular at Magic High School, and upcoming character Lynette from Genshin Impact, as well as replacing Christine Marie Cabanos as Snow White in Mary Skelter Finale due to the latter being on maternity leave at the time), or Elizabeth Maxwell (Rosaria from Genshin Impact; Natasha from Honkai: Star Rail; Winter Schnee from RWBY; Ymir from Attack on Titan; Nikki from Camp Camp; Ashmedia from Trillion: God of Destruction)

As for the other characters, I can predict Dawn M. Bennett (Female Shez from Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Yukong from Honkai: Star Rail, Kale from Dragon Ball Super, and Sody Pop from Chikin Nugget, as well as replacing Karen Strassman as Aigis in the upcoming Persona 3 Reloaded) as F-Sha, Justice Washington (Issac the Estoc from Boyfriend Dugeon; Mack Starz from Chronexia and the Eight Seals; Crunchy Chip Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom) as Copy the Hard, Hayden Daviau (Priestess from Goblin Slayer; Rina Tennouji from Love Live!
