#lan shizui loves hugging his parents canon

Text
headcanon that wei ying just loves to give hugs. he always hugs the juniors, especially holding lan shizui tight and ruffling his hair. wei ying would give lan jingyi a high five first and then slap his back when they both go in for it. for ouyang zizhen, they do that thing where they both hold each other the same way and jump up and down bc they're dumb like that. wei ying is more mindful of jin ling's space, but when jin ling looks particularly sour when he feels left out, he would give a quick one-arm squeeze.

Prompt 200 for Jinyi, maybe with a supportive Shizui? :D
Aww, thank you for the prompt! I love some JinYi! You know I’m a huge stan 💕 I know you want a supportive Sizhui but I’m going to add Zizhen to the mix! He gets forgotten a lot despite that theoretically by canon he’s supposed to be somewhat close to Jin Ling given Jiang Cheng partially raised him. But anways! I love how this turned out and I hope you so too! I set this in my au, Walking Into Your Heart 💜
“Finally!” Zizhen happily greeted him and Jingyi opening the door to Jin Ling’s house. A recent purchase and well deserved. At least that’s what Jingyi had told him when he’d informed him that Jin Ling was moving into a different neighborhood. The sounds of the other guests having a party and music filtering out. “Oh, you brought a plus one.”
“Not a plus one! My other half -” Jingyi started with a hearty laugh while wrapping an arm around Sizhui’s shoulders.
“Best friend just best friend.” Suzhui cut him off before he went on about how the two of them were soulmates forever destined to be reunited in every life. However, the words chosen would make it sound like he, Wei Suzhui was in a relationship with him rather than being just a friend. Which is all that they’ve ever will be. He just couldn’t see himself with someone he’d always considered a brother. Plus his dad called Jingyi his little bun which was the equivalent of his nickname, little radish. Also, he didn’t want to spoil what was probably the budding relationship with Jingyi and Jin Ling with a misunderstanding.
“Cute.” Zizhen grinned taking a step back to let them step inside, while his warm brown eyes looked him over, “Well, welcome best friend. The food is in the dining room, drinks at the outdoor bar, and” His gaze shifting to Jingyi “The young master of the house is out back schmoozing.”
“Thanks.” Jingyi replied with a beaming smile Sizhui merely nodded to him as he followed behind.
Sizhui didn’t know what he’d been expecting considering what the penthouse had looked like and the outside but this house was even larger once inside. Like it was for an entire family instead of just Jin Ling and Fairy...and well Jingyi even if the latter was in denial. The man spent more time with his former boss than him lately. Like right now, he’d been left standing in the hallway towards the courtyard as Jingyi fluttered outside where Jin Ling stood talking to a woman in a black and white Chanel suit. Her dark brown hair in a severe bun. She seemed familiar and by the smile Jingyi gave her the two must know each other as well.
He also witnessed how both Jingyi and Jin Ling started awkwardly smiling and blushing at one another after giving each other a hug. Sizhui shook his head before attempting to try the punch.
“They’re in denial which is funny.” the warm timbered voice of Zizhen came from beside him, “and if you’re like your friend over there Jin Chen has already spiked it with some tequila.”
“I know, Wei Sizhui.” He replied turning to offer his hand to shake, “And thanks for the warning.” He set the glass aside but it wasn’t there long enough with a wait staff member picking it up.
“You’re welcome,Ouyang Zizhen.” Zizhen returned taking his hand, “I’m Jin Ling’s best friend.”
“I know, Jingyi talks about you often.”
“Is there anything you don’t know?” Zizhen teasingly asked making the bottom of Sizhui’s ears tinge red.
“A few things.”
“Only just a few. I see.” Zizhen chuckled, “Well let’s go save Mianmian from those two.”
Jingyi had felt his heart start to race the moment that his honeyed eyes met Jin Ling’s earthy hazel ones. The smile that spread across that face didn’t help either. It was like the rest of world faded for just a moment. He was glad he didn’t trip over his own feet, because that would have been embarrassing. Considering the back courtyard was mostly flat.
Before he could reach Jin Ling, Fairy barked in greeting as she came to him. He dropped to one knee as heads turned to watch them. Jingyi laughed as she tried to give him kisses on the face while he scratched behind her ears. “Hello my sugar plum.” He said greeted her.
“Hey.” He greeted Jin Ling when he stood back up. He hoped the heat he felt on his cheeks didn’t show.
“There you are.” Jin Ling replied pulling him into a quick hug.
“Sorry, I was late.” Jingyi apologized as they separated.
“No worries.” Jin Ling grinned while Mianmian merely smiled at him.
“That glass of yours looks half empty, Mianmian. Why don’t we get you a fresh one?” Zizhen offered as he and Sizhui joined them.
“That’d be splendid.” Mianmian chuckled allowing him to lead her towards the bar.
“I think I just spotted one of the people I wanted you to meet.” Jin Ling said giving him Jingyi his glass and gentle hold of his arm his arm before he stepped away,”I’ll be right back.”
“And then there was two.” Jingyi chuckled watching Jin Ling walk towards a small cluster of people with Fairy trailing after him. Sizhui noticed how Jingyi started drinking from Jin Ling’s glass.
“You love him don’t you?” Sizhui asked despite knowing the answer. Jingyi was not a man of subtly. He’s passionate, charismatic, and loyal. He’d seen the man starting to fall for his former employer way before he’d even started talking about it. The endless calls and texts, Jingyi taking care of Fairy while Jin Ling was out of town, and Jin Ling being there when Jingyi’s parents abandoning him in Paris. This party being one of the many ways that Jin Ling showed he too cared... no loves Jingyi.
“I..yes.” Jingyi answered honestly the blush deepening
“You know he loves you too? He’s probably just afraid to admit it.”
“You think so?”
“Just think about why you haven’t just told him yourself? This relationship between you two is too important and you don’t want it to go away. But yet the both of you still do things for one another that say it.”
“But..” Jingyi tried to deflect.
“Jingyi.” Sizhui called his name in his father's weary tone, when Lan Wangji is about to scold his dad,”Look around. I mean really look. This is the first party at his new house if that’s what you call this place, and he’s throwing it for you so you can meet some people to possibly get your dream job. If that’s not a statement of love I don’t know what is.”
“What, what is?” Jin Ling asked stepping up with a slender but tall man.
“We’ll talk about it later.”
“Alright,” Jin Ling answered with a tilt of his head giving Jingyi a brief look of confusion before turning to the man he’d brought with him.
“Dr. Xiao this is the man I was telling you about. This is Lan Jingyi.” Jin Ling introduced him proudly making Jingyi blush again.
