TO IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hello !
After the great success of ~The essential playlist ~ during 2021, Latin Music Mondays - CKUT 90.3 FM will continue during 2022 receiving artists from all over the world to share a list of essential songs with our public, so please lock your radio next Monday March 28th from 9 to 11 am at www.ckut.ca to celebrate the International Women Month and enjoy the launching of ~ The essential playlist 2nd season ~ with our international guest Francisca Valenzuela ! Francisca will offer to us a special selection of female artists that inspire her and that are an example for future generations !
~ The essential playlist ~ is a 60 m free space (or more if necessary) where the artists can show a list of songs that are special for them. They can be songs of any musical genre or era and that have remained essential in the musical memory of the artist. They can also be songs made by the artist himself (because they marked his career, marked the sound of the band, hits, etc). Reserve your date to participate any 2nd, 3trd or 4th Monday of each month, starting from March 2022 until December 2022 by writing to [email protected]. You can also propose an artist to participate with us, just drop a line !
We will also hold our Annual Funding Drive: "CKUT 'Til Infinity - March 17th to 27th" so be ready to express your love and solidarity with Latin Music Mondays and CKUT 90.3 FM ! Each penny will help us to deliver more alternative and underground music ! Since 1995, Latin Music Mondays airs the musical diversity coming from South America and its diaspora, no matter the musical gender. We are a Global ("World") program.

Luego del gran éxito de ~The essential playlist ~ durante 2021, Latin Music Mondays - CKUT 90.3 FM continuarán durante 2022 recibiendo artistas de todo el mundo para compartir una lista de canciones esenciales con nuestro público, así que por favor conecta tu radio el próximo lunes 28 de marzo de 9 a 11 am al www.ckut.ca para celebrar el Mes Internacional de la Mujer y disfrutar del lanzamiento de ~ The essential playlist 2da temporada ~ con nuestra invitada internacional Francisca Valenzuela. ¡Francisca nos ofrecerá una selección especial de artistas femeninas que la han inspirado y que son un ejemplo para las generaciones futuras!
~The essential playlist ~ es un espacio libre de 60 m (o más si es necesario) en donde los artistas pueden mostrar una lista de canciones que son especiales para ellos. Pueden ser canciones de cualquier género musical o época y que hayan permanecido imprescindibles en la memoria musical del artista. También pueden ser canciones hechas por el propio artista (porque marcaron su carrera, marcaron el sonido de la banda, hits, etc). Reserva tu fecha para participar cualquier 2°, 3° o 4° lunes de cada mes a partir de marzo del 2022 hasta diciembre de 2022 escribiendo a [email protected]. The essential playlist !
Since March 2020 the arts and spectacles industry has been cruelty cancelled, hitting both the public and artist enjoyment...Latin Music Mondays is adapting its production style in order to reconnect the artists and their public !
Either funny or painful times, we always have an essential playlist !
We are inviting local and international artists to share with the Latin Music Mondays’ public a 60 m playlist with essential songs for their lives and careers, having a critical analysis of the music shared and the story behind it...
The essential playlist is meant to be a 60 m free space for musicians to play music they love any 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monday of each month, starting on Monday, April 19th 2021 !

Latin Music Mondays top 5 Canadian new songs 2020 !
Lido Pimienta:
Lido is back this year with an astonish album, full of texture and colours, and a sort of extension of her previous work, sometimes less funny but more stylized and mature. In this new album, which was fully aired by Latin music Mondays the same day it was officially released, for long minutes we are inside of a Pacific Colombian town, as we can also be surprised by the break in songs like “Eso que tu haces”. Such breaks, make the album familiar with Lidos’ previous works and style, but the trips inside long blanks in the new album far for being annoying gives the album a deep texture. Here we choose: “Eso que tu haces”.
Marion Brunelle:
Montreal’s diva Marion Brunelle had released in this Novermber 2020 a new extraordinary EP: “Ailleurs” ! ll in french but musically Cuban, it is a perfect mojito ! The artist had also released earlier this year a new single: “No quiero problemas” belong with Andy Rubal, which heated Montreal last winter with a very well produced video clip. For today's five top Canadian content we will choose the song “Monde suspendu”, we think it is light as it has motion, sort of reggaeton beat, intelligent and interesting words, Quebec-Cuban rooted ! Enjoy the video !
Poirier:
The Montreal’s eclectic artist had released a new album: “Soft Power”, which Latin Music Mondays had been airing since the first week it was released. The album reflects the ambition of Poirier to embrace cultures and people all over the world ! But the album is not only a blend of World music, it is a musically well produced and curated album, that jumps well among various rhythms. The handling of many experienced and formed artist such of: Flavia Coelho, Boogat, Samito among other that did collaborate in the album, tell us about Poirier 20 years of music production around the world. Here we choose “Café Com Leite” a good manner to start loving this beautiful new album !
Emma Beko:
Peruvian-Canadian artist Emma Beko had released this year various interesting singles besides “Heartstreets”, the band on which she had been making duo with “Gab Gordon” for various years now. “Alma”, “Salute”, “MHS”...maybe the artist will announce a new EP soon to put all that together...Through all this year, Emma had been exploring all her great talent in Solo. Here we choose “MHS” which reflect very well a constant through Emma new singles: the passing from teens to young adults, evolving friendships, first lovers ....By the way, the videos has the propose to be blurry, home made, poor budget, teenagers quality, alternative and underground...but we guess their production can be a bit better....

Cosmovision records:
New production from Montreal based label Cosmovision records, on November 30th we aired the full album as a world premier. It is not the first time we play a full album coming from Cosmovision records, we also loved “Animals of earth v1” and we are making room to play soon “Animals of earth v2”. But “Ouvre la porte Remix” brings the blend of traditional and modern less minimalist than “Animals of earth” and more joyful. Depends what is your mood but here we choose: “En mi barrio”, well orchestrated and remixed, brings Cumbia more space-y but still in motion. Enjoy !

Vox Sambou: Rezistans
Last Friday 8th of February Vox Sambou did released a new video clip: Rezistans !
Issue of an experience in Brazil where realizing the hard way of leaving of many Haitian workers in that country, Vox and crew were inspired to produce Rezistans ! It is an homage and message of resistance for those that are working hard away of theirs countries, sometimes not in so far condition...
