CALE HENITUSE:
A Commander wearing a black uniform.
An excellent strategist.
Can flip a whole continent over within a few hours.
Has a super smart black dragon by his side 24/7.
Many other powerful dragons follow him.
Covered in blood ... most of the time.
Mostly smiles coldly like a villain or a scamming smile.
Curses quite often.
Has committed all sorts of crimes like arson, torture, kidnapping, forgery, property destruction, looting, killing, scamming, fraud, stealing, blackmailing etc.
Will loot you dry if you're his enemy.
Lives in the middle of the forest of darkness, a forbidden region which is a habitat of the most ferocious monsters of the continent .
Has a 10,000 years old black castle in the middle of the said forest .
Often surrounded by a crazy amount of black crows(thanks to gashan).
Owns a whole flying monster skeleton brigade.
Has a whole army of dark elves, necromancer, wolves, tigers, swordsmasters, powerful mages, dragons, assasins, torture, and poison experts by his side living at his home with him.
Uses a strong ruling aura as well as an aura that reminds you of blood and death.
Can basically control nature at this point with the number of ancient powers he has.
Has a whole mine that produces dead mana magic stones.
Okay, if one doesn't know who Cale is and has no idea about the context, I swear Cale would seem like an extremely scary final boss villain with this list of descriptions to them!! 🤣🤣

Cale being genuinely kind and wanting what is best for himself and for the people he cherishes as friends, family and loved ones, but I want him to unleash hell on those that are his enemies. Let him hunt them down callously, sending hounds after them for they are not worthy of being a dragon's prey- and let them witness their last moments alive by promising to hand deliver their remains to their families.
In the end, he doesn't even keep that promise of his. They shouldn't have dared to trust him.
Leaning his cheek on the palm of his hand, he watches them breathe their last and whispers low and sweet in their ears, "I changed my mind. What better gift to give your family, than the bright hope that you may still be alive somewhere? Let them wait... until they forget."
He keeps watch over them as they claw desperately in the dirt, tears spilling over, cursing him as blood-filled spittle runs down their chin before failing to move again. "You shouldn't have crossed paths with me. I don't enjoy doing this, but people like you never learn, so I always have to do this the hard way."

I saw someone talking about Cale not being innocent with relationships, which i agree with, so wanna also add my personal opinion on this rather interesting matter+a bit on his trauma!
Cale loved reading novels and comics, so he probably read some romance or smut among the way too. As we know, he is a quite curious person, thus i doubt he wouldn't be interested in it at least for a bit.
He also recognizes relationship stuff overall! Like for example in Korean arc with Kim Min Ah and Bae Puh Rum. They weren't a couple yet, however Cale noticed vibes around them so there is also a comment about them looking good together. Even if it was more of a "Ah, they were lovely-dovely since then", it is still a realization.
As a result, if we push back the idea of Cale being aroace, he isn't innocent! Cale knows enough to understand romance, sex, flirting and all that jazz on a basic level.
Here is the thing, right?
When literally anything relared to emotions or relationships, both platonic and romantic, includes HIM in the equations, Cale suddenly becomes a fool.
An obvious, absolutely traumatized and with little to no self-awareness fool.
Cale literally degrades himself and his feelings or emotions on a daily basis, guys, i don't think this depressed man is able to comprehend that people actually just enjoy his sole presence alone.
Again, the problem here not in Cale not realizing/recognizing that kind of stuff (what basically innocence implies), but in Cale not thinking that someone can like him or be into him.
People don't give enough credit to how severe his self-hatred, that was builded for tens of years and supported by hearing others hate him, is.
It absolutely distorted Cale's view of himself.
As Kim Rok Soo? Well, he was always average looking, the scars made him look even worse.
As Cale? Well, he might look better now, but his personality still trash, he is selfish and not emotional overall.
If nothing above works? Well, his self made inner image of a "Bad person" always does!
He wouldn't ever believe that someone can love him romanticly.
Because why? Why him?
He is absolutely disoriented when people show their care for him nowadays. In the novel it plays of as the silly moments of obvious Cale, but if you think about that?
It just Cale honestly not understanding why they care for HIM.
This is not about innocence. Not at all.
It is about a man who cannot love himself and as a result doubting everyone's love for him.

Just remembered how prior to finding out the real truth, Alver had thought that even if it was someone else in Cale Henituse's body, he didn't care because he liked and cherished the current Cale, whomever he may be and now I suddenly feel unwell.
"If the body possession part was true, then it would be very sad for Duke Henituse's household but not for Alver. It might seem cold, but those were Alver's honest thoughts."

Cale's Live Reaction to Gods
Cale, in the beginning: I don't believe in god.
***
God of Death, a sorta helpful dude: *helps Cale by bringing all sorts of trouble while whining like a kid*
Cale: That motherf*cking God of Death!
***
Sealed God, a total creep: I will make you want me. *makes Cale relive his most painful memories*
Cale, sincerely: Thank you.
***
Cale: *takes out God of Death's divine item and double-seals the Sealed God*
Cale, very sincerely: Also, f*ck you.

TCF Server:
Tumblr media
Hello!
Me and my friend (who's equally a Cale devotee-) made this server just two months back- on New Years to be precise XD
(Cuz the tcf servers out there are mostly those that either gets active once in a blue moon, or are way too rule heavy, like the usage of official names...and we needed a place thats not so rule restricted on things as simple as the use of names (Alver and Alberu for example) but thats beside the point.)
Our channels are very... creatively named XD. Like Huiss City would be the General Channel, Cale's yet to exist farm would be the Headcanon Channels, etc etc lol
Anyhow, if anyone's interested, let me know and i'll share the link so feel free to join!
(Psst... we are giving free server economy coins to the first 106 joinees!)

HEAR ME OUT!
Cale Henituse, reincarnated in the future Roan Empire, discovers that his past self is considered a hero.
Cale was like: I’m not?
So, you find him doing a project in his history class, on his past self’ bad deeds.
Cale: He robbed, kidnapped, poisoned, assaulted, blackmailed, tortured, killed….
2 hours later.
Cale: He also committed arson, vandalism, coercion, destruction of government property, unauthorized use of explosives, manslaughter, blasphemy against gods and royalty…
More hours later.
Cale: severe emotional and mental damage, black market dealing, extensive property damage, solicitation, money burning! Can you imagine that! Anyways, withholding information, espionage, disturbing the peace…
You can guess that his class hates him already.

I love when people write OG Cale and he has the world’s biggest old man vibe to him, I love that. Need him to say “back in my day” and “kids these days” , it’s just so funny… even funnier when he does this stuff on purpose. Just to annoy people a little bit.
Like imagine him talking to Kim Roksoo and he’s just like
“Wow, you’re totally crazy. Young people these days…. *sigh* I really don’t understand”
“You are four years older than me, you bastard.”
Annoying old man OG Cale and annoying older brother OG Cale are my favorite OG Cale hcs, I love when he’s like this, it’s just so funny, there’s no other reason I just think it’s hilarious.

Eyes of every other lcf/tcf characters in the manhwa (black pupils) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vs. Cale's eyes in the manhwa (white pupils) :
Tumblr media
Sooo, Cale seems to be the only character here whose pupils are consistently drawn white or (at least the center of them is white??).
Foreshadowing record, perhaps??🤔🤔👀👀
(( I might be reading too much into this... Was this possibly mentioned in the novel that his pupils look white??? I only thought his eyes were supposed to look cold because of record !!! 👀👀))

Everyone else: Pray tell Cale-nim...how can we NOT worry when every single plan you have ends up with you bleeding out like this!?
Cale, half-dying: TRUST ME!!!!

This part in 32 chp always felt kind of odd to me and this is the reason why:
The coward wolf boy, Lock. Until Choi Han found him, Lock had been hiding as the chief had told him. The Lock at that point is very much a coward, a weakling, and kind of slow. In simple terms, Lock easily took the position of the character that readers found to be extremely frustrating.
This has bothered me since I first read the novel, and to this day, even after several rereads, it still haunts me.
Cale simply isn't the type of a person to actually call a kid, no matter how they behave, to be "frustrating".
(When the text said "readers" it's damn well obvious of Cale being the one to think so.)
Pondering for some time I can roughly guess why the wording was so unexpected for his character.
At the time of the assassination/kindaping in the village, Lock was only thirteen years old. He also hasn't had his first berserk transformation yet. Therefore it is not surprising that Lock's uncle hid him and told not to go out, saying that everything was fine and he should continue to hide.
Now let's look at the situation realistically.
Lock (in tcf) jumps out of his hiding to protect his younger siblings. The adrenaline and inner Blue Wolf Tribe's instincts to protect turned on his berserk transportation one year beforehand, however if not Rosalyn and Choi Han, who came earlier than in the actual novel, i don't think it would help much.
Lock would possibly be able to kill a few people or at least seriously injure them, but CMON. They killed an ENTIRE village full of berserk Blue Wolf's and with almost-Wolf King (Lock's uncle). Do you really believe that a thirteen years old boy jumping into his first berserk transformation would be able to fight properly against strong organization that had holy water or some sort of holy artefact on their hands?
Again, if not for Choi Han's and Rosalyn's arrival... it would have definitely ended pretty bad.
In TBOAH Lock for some reason didn't jump out. Different circumstances, wrong wroted part in the novel, idk, but the fact is stated: Lock stayed hidden. He also most likely survived only because of Choi Han's help. Just with much worse scenario where he was left alone from the whole village.
And it wasn't Lock's fault yet again. He was a child. No matter if a Beastman one or not, the boy was just an innocent, naive and weak child.
So why would Cale, Kim Rok Soo at the time, find him frustrating? Extremely so even!
The answer is much easier if you think about it.
Because it wasn't Kim Rok Soo blaming a kid for being weak and cowardly in a fearful situation, it was a man who saw his own past that he hated so much.
A coward, a weakling and kind of slow.
For Rok Soo, who blamed himself for half of his life for the deaths of team one members, Lock was like a salt for still open, but ignored wounds.
KRS greatly disliked and maybe even envied Lock for a bit. The boy got a new family, he got friends and some sort of guidance from them even after facing so much despair.
While he was all alone, trying to understand what to do on his own.
It sure is irritating for Rok Soo.
Yet Team Leader Kim Rok Soo was probably unable to fully hate Lock for his weakness, because while the latter was still a kid, the same forgiveness can't be used on him. At least in his own head.
So with conflicting feelings Cale settled on "Extremely frustrating" description.
