IL PLEUVAIT DES OISEAUX en tête des nominations du Gala Québec Cinéma 2020
En direct du salon de Guillaume Lambert, les nominations du Gala Québec Cinéma (qui ne fera pas l’objet d’un rassemblement télévisuel cette année, confinement oblige) ont été dévoilées cet après-midi.
En cette année dominée par les réalisatrices, 6 des meilleurs films sont réalisés par des femmes et 3 femmes sont en lice pour l’Iris de la Meilleure réalisation.
On parle bien sûr d’Antigone de Sophie Deraspe (Meilleur film, Meilleure réalisation, Meilleur scénario), La femme de mon frère de Monia Chokri (Meilleur film, Meilleure réalisation), Kuessipan de Myriam Verreault (Meilleur film, Meilleure réalisation, Meilleur scénario), Jeune Juliette d’Anne Émond (Meilleur film, Meilleur scénario), Il pleuvait des oiseaux et Louise Archambault (Meilleur film, Meilleur scénario, et 13 nominations au total, le record cette année), et du plus inattendu Fabuleuses de Mélanie Charbonneau (Meilleur film).
Ces films réalisés par des femmes sont rejoints dans les catégories de pointe par les « films de gars » Mafia Inc de Podz (Meilleur film), Sympathie pour le diable de Guillaume de Fontenay (Meilleure réalisation, Meilleur scénario), et Le vingtième siècle de Matthew Rankin (Meilleur premier film, Meilleure réalisation).
Un grand oublié : Xavier Dolan, qui a lancé deux longs métrages l’an dernier. On ne s’attendait pas à un couronnement du mal-aimé The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, mais l’excellent Matthias & Maxime aurait mérité plus d’honneurs. Il est quand même en nomination dans les catégories Meilleure interprétation féminine dans un rôle de soutien (Micheline Bernard), Meilleure interprétation masculine dans un rôle de soutien (Pier-Luc Funk), Meilleure direction de la photographie (André Turpin), Meilleur montage (Xavier Dolan), Meilleure musique originale (Jean-Michel Blais) et Meilleur maquillage (Erik Gosselin, Edwina Voda).
Du côté des interprètes, je suis soulagé que mon long métrage québécois préféré depuis longtemps, Le rire de Martin Laroche, ait été au moins reconnu pour les brillantes performances de Léane Labrèche-Dor (Premier rôle féminin) et Micheline Lanctôt (Rôle de soutien féminin).
Il faut aussi souligner les deux nominations comme acteur de Robin Aubert, pour Jeune Juliette (Premier rôle masculin) et Merci pour tout (Rôle de soutien masculin).
Et une pensée pour Andrée Lachapelle, qui nous a quittés récemment, nommée comme Meilleure actrice pour Il pleuvait des oiseaux.
Parlant d’Il pleuvait des oiseaux , félicitations à Will Driving West, un de mes groupes préférés, parmi les finalistes de la catégorie Meilleure musique originale.
Aussi, je suis très heureux pour l’extraordinaire Je finirai en prison d’Alexandre Dostie, en nomination pour l’Iris du meilleur court métrage.

#kinderbuch #allesüberplastik 📚 (Unbezahlte Werbung) Heute zeige ich euch ein kunterbuntes Buch mit vielen, vielen Klappen rund ums Thema Plastik, das eine Menge interessanter Fragen beantwortet... Was ist Plastik? Wieso nutzen wir es so viel? Und wieso ist das ein Problem? Wie können wir selbst etwas dagegen tun? Da lernen auch Erwachsene noch manches dazu 🤓 Ich war erst skeptisch, ob Töchterchen (5) sich darauf einlassen würde, aber tatsächlich war sie sehr wissbegierig und wir mussten schon mehrfach alle 65 Klappen durchackern 😅 Ja, es ist sehr umfangreich und manches überschneidet sich ein bisschen, das schadet aber nicht. Hübsch ist das Buch also auch 🤩 Und ganz am Ende des Buches wurden wir sogar noch zu einem kleinen Upcycling-Projekt inspiriert: Aus einem alten Shirt wurde eine Tasche und zwar ganz ohne Nähen! ✂️ Muddi sagt: Natürlich kann ein Buch nicht schlagartig das Verhalten ändern, das muss Stück für Stück im Alltag passieren. Aber regt es doch wunderbar das Interesse an, sensibilisiert für das Thema und erklärt viele Hintergründe auf kindgerechte Weise. Und das kann doch nicht schlecht sein, oder? 😉👍 Wie ist das bei euch? Interjú Susan Batori/Bátori Zsuzsanna tervező grafikussal, a Vad Szimfónia illusztrátorával
Dan Brown Vad Szimfónia című, szeptemberben megjelenő mesekönyvének illusztrátorával beszélgettünk. Bátori Zsuzsanna a Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem tervezőgrafikus tanszékén végzett, sokáig dolgozott reklámügynökségeknél, a grafika több területén is bizonyított, és munkája során számos neves szakmai díjat nyert. Egy idő után az illusztráció felé fordult, és nemzetközi karriert futott be, sok, külföldön megjelent könyv képeit készítette már. Jellegzetes, főleg állat, kisállat, házikedvenc karaktereit hamar a szívünkbe zártuk. Zsuzsával a kezdetekről és a Vad Szimfóniával kapcsolatos felkérésről beszélgettünk.
Kérem, meséljen kicsit magáról, hogy az olvasóink megismerhessék. Milyen út vezetett a magyarországi tervezőgrafikai munkáktól a nemzetközi illusztrátori megkeresésekig?
Budapesten élek a párommal és egy nagyon mókás cicával. Kisebb reklámügynökségeknél indult a pályám grafikai munkakörben. Az egyik ilyen cégnél készítettem az Állítsátok meg Terézanyut! filmadaptációjának plakátját, majd a DDB Budapest Reklámügynökséghez kerültem, ahol art directorként dolgoztam. Itt többek között brossúrákat, plakátokat, hirdetéseket terveztem a Volkswagennek, Liberónak, Vodafonnak, Bertollinak, Domestosnak, Signalnak stb. A DDB után átkerültem egy kisebb cégbe, amit egy szövegíró társam alapított. Ebben a stúdióban többnyire csomagolásterveket, újsághirdetéseket, óriásplakátokat, kiadványokat készítettem például a Zwacknak, Rexonának és a Dove-nak. Ebben a cégben kezdtem különben komolyabban rajzolni. A cégvezető elkezdett egy projektet, egy havonta megjelenő gyerekmagazinhoz szeretett volna applikációt piacra dobni. Ide rengeteget kellett rajzolnom. Egyre jobban megszerettem az illusztrálást, sőt szerelembe estem. Igazi örömmunkák voltak ezek. Az itt készült macifiguráim elég népszerűek voltak.
A munkáimat feltöltöttem a Behance oldalamra. Ez egy alkotóknak szóló portfólió oldal, lényegében egy alkotói közösség. Itt talált rám a mostani ügynökségem, a londoni Good Illustration Agency. Megkérdezték, mit szólnék, ha képviselnének az oldalukon. Igent mondtam. Nagyon szeretek velük dolgozni, és nagyon jó, már-már családias a kapcsolatunk. Eleinte csak csordogáltak a munkák, majd egyre többen kértek fel mesekönyvek illusztrálására, vagy esetleg magazinban megjelenő mesék képanyagának elkészítésére. Hát így… :)
Eddig milyen könyveket illusztrált?
Az első igazán sikeres könyv, amit illusztráltam, a londoni Maverick Publishing gondozásában jelent meg, Strictly No Crocs (nyers fordításban: Krokodiloknak Szigorúan Tilos) címmel, a szerzője Heather Pindar. A történet három krokodilról szól, akiket a zebra nem hívott meg a szülinapjára, ezért inkognitóban, jelmezekben vegyülnek el a szülinapot ünneplő állatok között, azzal a szándékkal, hogy megegyék őket. A végén annyira jól érzik magukat a partin, hogy elfelejtik felfalni az állatokat. A mai napig imádom ezt a könyvet. Illusztráltam még a szerző Mighty Bitey (Hatalmas Harapósok) című művét is, melynek szereplői éhes piranhák.
Idén fejeztem be egy könyvet, amit egy amerikai asztronautának illusztráltam, a címe Letters From Space (Levelek az űrből). Ennek szeptemberben várható a megjelenése.
Szintén idei megjelenés a Wanted! Criminals of the Animal Kingdom (Körözés alatt: Az állatvilág bűnözői), amely egy humoros non-fiction könyv. Érdekes “bűnöző” állatokat mutat be, amelyek rosszalkodnak. Például a láma, aki köpdös, vagy egy hernyó, aki virágnak álcázza magát és rágcsálja a virágokat.
Imádom a mókás történeteket. Eleinte nem volt lehetőségem válogatni a munkák között, de most már igyekszem olyanokat választani, amelyekben kiteljesedhetek. Ezek pedig legyenek viccesek, tanulságosak, szórakoztatóak. De nemcsak könyv-, hanem magazin illusztrációkat is készítettem, például az amerikai Highlights Magazinnak.
Jelenleg is két mesekönyvön dolgozom, amelyek idén vagy jövőre jelennek meg, és három másik már várakozik a listámon.
Nagyon büszkék vagyunk, hogy magyar illusztrátor alkotásai teszik egyedivé ezt a könyvet. Hogyan került kapcsolatba Dan Brownnal, illetve a csapatával? Hogyan zajlott a kiválasztás folyamata?
2018 novemberében jött a hír az ügynökségemtől, hogy versenyben vagyok egy munkáért, amit egy híres-neves író írt békákról, bogarakról és mindenféle állatokról. Oké, rendben, gondoltam, volt már ilyen, ha kiválasztanak, örülök, ha nem, akkor majd legközelebb... Aztán karácsony előtt pár nappal írt Doreen, az ügynököm, hogy úgy tűnik, engem választottak ki illusztrátornak a könyvhöz, az író pedig Dan Brown, a projekt szigorúan titkos, ne szóljak senkinek. Én visszakérdeztem, hogy ez a “davincsikódos” Dan Brown? Igen, ő az. Hát, csak ültem a kanapén nagyokat pislogva, vihorászva a párommal, hogy ez biztos valami vicc. Nem az volt. :) Háromszáz illusztrátor közül választottak ki, akik között neves amerikai művészek is voltak. Dan egyébként külön írt nekem egy e-mailt, hogy gratulál a munkához! Majd pedig a bejelentés napján, idén februárban telefonon is beszéltünk, és együtt örültünk a bejelentés hírének.
Milyen volt az alkotás folyamata? Milyen technikával készültek a képek? Mennyi ideje volt elkészíteni az illusztrációkat?
Egy mesekönyvön általában 3-6 hónapot dolgozom, de ez a könyv több mint fél évig készült. 2019 márciusában találkoztam Dannel Zágrábban, ahol a Zágrábi Fesztivál Zenekarral folytak éppen a zenei felvételek. Ide már pár vázlattal készültem, amiket átbeszéltünk, igazából innen indult a munkafolyamat. A színes rajzokat valamikor tavaly novemberben adtam le, de még most júniusban is volt egy-két apróság az applikációhoz, amin dolgoznom kellett.
Én főleg digitálisan készítem a munkáimat, a kiadók jobban szeretik, és az én dolgomat is megkönnyíti, de azért igyekszem megtartani/visszaadni a valódi ceruzarajz “fílinget”.
A Vad Szimfónia jellegzetessége, hogy minden állathoz egy-egy rövid zenei tétel tartozik. Hallgatta a zenét munka közben?
Nagyszerű, igaz? Ez a könyv éppen ettől különleges és egyedülálló. Munka közben nagyon sokat hallgattam az egyes szekciókhoz tartozó zenei tételt. Épp a minap néztem ismét végig az oldalakat a testvéremmel, és közben hallgattuk a hozzájuk kapcsolódó melódiát. Egészen különleges élmény.
Lett kedvenc karaktere a szereplők közül? Ha igen, melyik?
Mindenkit imádok, de a víziló és a denevérek a kedvenceim… ja, meg a tatu és a strucc… és a rája pedig olyan cuki. Meg a vaddisznók is viccesek... a cicákat pedig egyenesen imádom. :)
Gyerekkorában kinek a gyerekkönyv-illusztrációit szerette?
A hetvenes években voltam gyerek, és imádtam mindent, ami akkoriban fellelhető volt. Öreg néne őzikéje, Szepes Mária Pöttyös Pannija, A sehányéves kislány, a Szép magyar népmesék Reich Károly rajzaival, vagy a Tankó Béla által illusztrált Sicc. Nem is tudom. Annyi mindenkit felsorolhatnék.
De a legnagyobb kedvencem mind közül a Pom-pom volt. Sajdik rajzait a mai napig imádom, és nagy hatással voltak a stílusomra.
Kik voltak hatással az Ön munkájára? Ki(k) a példaképe(i)?
Hű, nagyon sokan. A sor a festőktől indul, Mucha, Klimt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec…
Az első gyerekkönyv-illusztrátor, akiért felnőtt fejjel elkezdtem rajongani, Swen Nordquist, a Findusz sorozat rajzolója, valamint Lisbeth Zwerger, osztrák mesekönyv-illusztrátor voltak. Majd Carter Goodrich következett, aki sok animációs filmhez tervezett karaktereket. Pár éve találtam rá Theodor Seuss Geiselre, a Dr. Seuss könyvek alkotójára. Vele egyébként sok mindenben sorsközösséget érzek. Ő is grafikusként kezdte, és nem igazán szeretett szerepelni, viszont szerette a magányt. João Vaz de Carvallo fura, gülüszemű figurái pedig egészen lenyűgöztek és megnevettettek.
Kedvenceim még: Oliver Tallec, Alex T. Smith, Daniela Volpari, Pablo Pino, Marie Eve Tremblay, Celia Calle, és még hosszan folytathatnám a sort.
