The Sith Shadows are a band of mercenaries led by a zealot Force-wielder named Mellichae. Mellichae was a promising student of the dark side, being considered for a position as one of the Emperor's Hands, alongside Mara Jade. However, things took a brutal turn for Mellichae when it was discovered that he held such low regard for the Emperor and his politics that he planned to assassinate him and insert himself as the new Sith Lord.

Darth Vader himself dispatched Mellichae, severing one of his limbs and leaving him for dead. In a rare mistake on Vader's part Mellichae survived, and has harbored his bitter rage over the following years, growing increasingly more insane. Mellichae has formed his own band of followers now, called the Sith Shadows. His mercenary group consists of smugglers, pirates, outlaws, and murderers of all kinds. Their dark personalities mesh well with Mellichae's goals, allowing them to survive under his rule. No one joins the Sith Shadows lightly, and no one has ever left their employ alive.

Mellichae surveyed the village from his speeder bike, well out of range of their sensors. His Zabrakian hearing brought him the sounds of building and conversation. He fingered the button on his lightsaber, stolen from his own master when he killed him in the final test.

This must be how Darth Maul felt, he thought to himself. Before he slaughtered the enemies of the Sith.

He looked around him at the mercenaries and students of the dark side, some of them his own pupils. Would one of them kill him someday? He doubted it very much

A young Twi'lek, still bruised, battered, and scarred from his last training cycle pulled up next to Mellichae.

"We're ready, my lord."

"Excellent." Mellichae said, the taste of blood already forming on his lips.

Mellichae, the Zabrak, is a mercenary. He believes he works for the Emperor, though the one time he did try to trace his payments back any further than three or four steps he hit a brick wall like nothing he'd ever encountered. Some of his men speculate that they're actually working for Black Sun. Prince Xizor certainly had his own animosity towards the Jedi. Though the people they are fighting aren't Jedi. They are just Force sensitives and villagers, farmers really.

So who are they working for? No one knows. At this point they're simply a renegade group of mercenaries, some with their own force sensitive powers, who are dedicated to destroying this peaceful village.

Why?

Mellichae believes that this is actually a secret training ground for new Jedi Knights and that they plan to rise up and destroy all those who believe in the Sith's teachings. Mellichae would like nothing more than to become a Sith Lord himself, though he knows he'll have to prove himself to the Emperor before that can happen. He never dreamed he'd have the opportunity, though he believes destroying the village will gain him that status.

His men are mercenaries as well, following Mellichae because he's the strongest of them. Some of his men were dark force wielders, trained by supposed Sith Lords or Dark Side Devotees. They were all driven from their previous lives by revenge, murder, thievery. Most of them are wanted "officially" for crimes against the Empire.

And yet, despite their not keeping a low profile they never seem to be arrested, they're rarely harassed by local Imperial politics, and they seem curiously well funded.

They call themselves The Sith Shadows, or more often just the Shadows, since they're affiliation with the Sith is mostly wishful thinking.

Surviving your first encounter with the Sith Shadows will lead you to a small agriculture cooperative village on Dathomir. This is the Village of Aurilia.

1. Tell me something you love about your current WIP(s)

I love the huge world I created for Allastra - even if that’s not always in the main story, I can always find a time and place to daydream about there.

I love the characters in There Is No Map, I think they all have something to them that’s relatable and fun and I love writing them interacting.

2. Three of your characters are coming with you on a road trip. Who are they and why did you pick them?

- Elysa, because she’s a huge fun and practical

- Danae because she’ll have plenty of things to say about everything we ride past and I feel like I need to get to know her better

- Adalyce, because someone needs to actually look out for us and she’ll be able to absorb Elysa’s extrovertedness when I need to sleep

3. When you are not writing what are you most likely to be doing?

The fact that I’m answering this sounds like enough of an answer.

4. How do you name your characters?

In the Allastra story, I started by just picking making up random names, but now that I’ve set up an universe, I try to make words that sound decent fit into the cultures and languages I made up. It’s easier if it’s made up.

Fun fact: most of the cast of TINM (other than the ten or so most important characters) are pulled out from my old game on The Sims 2 - I got really absorbed and created a whole lot of families with backstories without ever playing them so really, I just took names that sounded nice and forced them onto crash dummies. Then I gave them personality, yay!

5. Do your characters have any pets?

Most people in Allastra have at least one personal horse (Aldan has Heligos, Elysa has Sendeic, Lith has Naalys, Eridan has Mellicha), Darren had a dog named Lannea, Lith is going to get a cat, Irina too, and of course, there’s a dragon for Ada. Shh.

Diego has a cat named Pudim, Caleb and Mary used to have a dog (a Pomeranian named Morgan Le Fay whom they just called Moggie), Dree has an old mongrel named Domino, Ethan a black cat named T’Challa, and Elliot a old mean gray cat called Hermes.

6. Do you have a favorite time of day to write?

6pm to midnight (and I should probably get started)

7. Which of your characters would win the Most Huggable Award?

Myleen, no questions. She’s so soft and warm and loving

8. Which of your characters would win the Most Punchable Award?

Lecarys. No questions. The only proper way to write about her is to repeatedly stab the keyboard. (Aldan gets the second place but only because he’s got main character privilege)

9. How do you decide when you’re done planning and just have to start writing?

When I’m done with a coherent by the chapter outline. I might (lol “might”) change it during the process but it’s a good start

10. Do your characters have any odd habits?

Elysa and Darren both have the reflex to run their hands through their hair when they’re embarrassed, Ada sometimes thinks out loud, Deywen does this thing where he ties a string to a rock and just spins in the water? I helps him focus

Caleb looks up to the sky whenever he’s feeling anxious and gets weirdly defensive about his position as the younger twin (tbh he gets weirdly defensive about a lot of things). And oddest of all, when Diego can’t sleep at night, he studies

SWGEmu Jedi Grind Part 2 - The Village

Welcome to SWGEmu Jedi Grind Part 2

So I’m hoping at this point you have met all the requirements to be all “glory,” but incase you haven’t check out my SWGEmu Jedi Walkthrough Part 1. If you have and you are ready to go than awesome, you’re ready to move on to SWGEmu Jedi Grind Part 2. To double check type /check and you should get a message “You feel an inner glow, The force is with you.”

Alright to business. After you become force sensitive,( anywhere from 24 to 72 hours) you will be visited by An old man. He will give you a force crystal to protect. this crystal is your Jedi journal so take care of it. About 24 hours after you are visited by the old man (in real time) you will be attacked by two sith shadows. They are really easy to beat. If you have any combat training you shouldn’t have a problem. Make sure to loot them, they have a waypoint to a sith shadow camp probably about 3000m away. Head over and kill the 2 siths at the camp and loot those as well. They will give you a waypoint on Dathimor to the village.

Congrats you are ready to go. Stock up on vehicle deeds ( there’s nowhere to fix your swoop by the village) and head to the science outpost. There you can get all your buffs and head to the village.

Village of Aurilia Overview

Before I continue my SWGEmu Jedi Grind Part 2 walkthrough I want to talk a bit about the story of the village of Aurilia. Its a village located about 5000m Southish from the Science outpost. It’s a village that is in constant attack from Sith Shadows. They are ordered to do so by an evil sith named Mellichae. In order to finish the village and move on you will have to eventually fight him.

The way the village plays out is there are 4 phases. Each phase only lasts for 3 weeks than it moves on to the next phase.

Phase 1- The Village of Aurilia is in shambles after a Sith Shadow attack.

Phase 2- The Village learns the enemy is regrouping and another attack is going to happen. The village Aurilia is building up it’s defences.

Phase 3- The Village grows in size and a shield generator is being built.

Phase 4- The shield is up and the village is huge. However, waves of sith shadows keep attacking.

The Village Phase system

The phase system makes grinding Jedi a bit tricky. During each phase you can only unlock 1 skill at a time. So for example, if you unlock Combat Prowess you can’t unlock Enhanced Reflexes till the next phase. And you can only train one FS branch per phase as well so make sure you do a bit of planning or you may find yourself doing the Village much longer.

Force Sensitivity Skills

Here’s a break down of the Skills and their branches. Each skill branch is only able to be tough during a specific phase.

Combat Prowess:

As for which ones are the best I think Melee and Ranged Defence are very important. Just because you know you are going to be hunted. I also really liked Survival for terrain speed.

Getting Force Sensitivity XP

So now that we have an idea on how the phases go, lets talk about how do we actually get FS xp. It’s a bit different than getting regular xp. You have to visit Paemos in the centre of the village. He will take your regular xp ( combat medical etc…) and convert it to FS xp, in which you can take and put towards your FS skill branch you are levelling( To do this visit Noldan.) Now different xp converts differently depending on which profession you are grinding. For example Combat xp converts at 3 to 1 FS XP where as Squad leader xp is 30 to 1. Here’s a chart to help you figure it out.

As We Travel || Mellichae & Cirz

Mellichae knows the clones aren't there for him. HOWEVER, they ran into him and, in his book, that makes up for just as dire a transgression as if they'd actually been after him.

Despite the weeks —or had it been more than a month? Mellichae didn't really venture in Republic-adjacent planets all that much in the first place to know for sure when it had started— since the galaxy had flipped on its axis, the child before him still reeked of the Jedi. It wasn't a scent Mellichae could describe as anything other than that, the smell of a Jedi. If the kid had just been wandering around the place, then others were soon to realize too. Jedi, young and old, just had something in the way they engaged with the world around them that made them stand out like a Wookiee in a barbershop.

Soon, there'd be someone else after him. Most likely more clones. Nowadays, those guys live to hunt down Jedi.

It would have been easy to kill the kid. Mellichae doubts he is old enough to have gotten that much training while under Jedi protection, and he knows that Jedi tended to coddle their young. Striking him down and being done with it would have been way quicker and less painful than him being gunned down by troopers– way more merciful, too. He ponders the option for a moment. His chin tilting up while his red eyes, glowing in the darkness of the alley, stare down at the kid.

Then, he turns on his heel and walkes away.

This isn't his problem, nor is it his place to go around giving mercy to the strays of the galaxy. He'd known better than to get into any of the Jedi's messes back when they were seen as the good guys everyone wanted in their corner, and he knows better than to linger around one for long now that they are seen as little more than traitors, a pest to be eradicated from the galaxy.

If the kid is smart, he'd use this moment of respite to get out of there.

Headcanuary - Day 12

Prompt: religion.

A'Sharad Hett

The Tuskens' religion doesn't center around a God, but around water. The story is that at first, there was a god or a few gods, but then one day they abandoned Tatooine, but not before telling the Tusken that from that point on, all the water on the planet was sacred and was theirs.

Carnor Jax

Through the years, Carnor held onto a lot of the beliefs he learned while he was a child in the care of the Thyrsus Sun Guard. These beliefs involved the honor of battle and the worshipping of deceased Sith Lords as entities who could provide the living with power and knowledge to face different circumstances.

Goran Beviin || Medrit Vasur

While Mandalorians do not have a pantheon. They have some people who allegedly did exist who achieved sainthood/godhood. The main three who Goran and Medrit believe in are Kad Ha'rangir, the destroyer god, bringer of change and chaos, but also the personification of growth and unity; Arasuum, the sloth god, personification of stagnation who tries to tempt clans into becoming selfish and self centered. They're polar opposites and are in an eternal battle against each other. Then there's Hod Ha'ran, the trickster, agent of fickle fortune and bringer of balance.

Mellichae

While Mellichae himself didn't see his cult as a religion, the people who followed him certainly did. Mellichae was like a messiah to them, promising them power and riches beyond their imagination, healing a few broken limbs, proving himself over and over to possess supernatural strength because the Empire kept sending people to kill him, giving them answers for questions that they believed would remain unanswered forever, and lifting things with his mind with such ease, in a time where people who could do that were little more than a distant memory.

Headcanuary - Day 11

Prompt: wardrobe.

Ailyn Vel

Her wookie braids aren't exactly like Boba's. It's a detail that most of the time goes unnoticed because when you're being chased by a big armored bounty hunter who will bring you in warm or cold, the last thing you worry about is the color or number of their wookie braids. While Boba has three (brown, yellow and white), Ailyn only has two (yellow and white). This is because she never really saw Boba that close, and from her childhood, she only remembered two braids.

Leia Organa

The green dress she wore to her wedding was the same dress her mother got married with. Breha and Bail left it among the things they prepared for Leia to inherit and stored it in another a different planet so that if anything were to happen that made it impossible/unsafe for Leia to return to Alderaan, she could still carry them with her.

Mellichae

Against popular belief, he actually didn't steal the beskar armor that he wears. He bought it– not from a Mandalorian, but hey, that's better than being the one that killed its owner and stole his armor.

Sabé

Sabé stopped wearing dresses after she quit being a handmaiden. Not only because pants are much more practical when you live in Tatooine and your main hobby involved freeing slaves, but also because given how COMPLICATED some of the outfits she had to wear as a decoy were, she's tired of dresses. She'll only wear them for very specific occasions like parties and such and maybe owns two.

Headcanuary - Day 7

Prompt: Mythology.

A'Sharad Hett || Tahiri Veila

To Tusken, water is sacred. They believe that all the water on Tatooine is a gift to them from the gods, and resent the settlers for stealing it. They also believe that water is the most sacred thing in the galaxy and must be used only for hydration and washing. Because of this, those raised in the Tusken way tend to be very reluctant about doing things that involve 'wasting' water, such as swimming for fun, caring for plants that do not grow anything edible, etc. As they believe that to waste water will anger the gods and make them send droughts as punishment for not appreciating their gift enough.

Drakka Judarrl

Drakka's approach to the force can be seen as quite old fashioned. She follows the teachings of The Prime: the first force user to ever be called a Jedi and who was responsible for the creation of the Jedi order. However, due to this individual having been alive thousands of years ago, there are many different interpretations. She interprets the depictions of this individual in a literal way: an entity whose soul is half light and half darkness, with some darkness within the light and some light within the darkness. Drakka believes that too much of either is harmful, and while she respects the Jedi and sticks mostly to the dark side, she is way more flexible about manipulating the dark side and its artifacts than many Jedi.

Mellichae

Having been born a member of the nightspider cult on Dathomir, Mellichae grew up with the stories of the queen mother: a huge spider that the cult worshipped and who they sacrificed beings to. Because of this, and due to his own connection with the force which the Queen Mother also possessed, he used to believe that the Queen Mother would 'sing' to him when he was a child. He could understand the creature in a way that even the matriarch of the Nightspider clan couldn't, even when he was never allowed inside the cave and didn't ever really see her in person, only in dreams.

He's never killed a spider. Ever. Even after leaving Dathomir, because the Queen Mother told him that she watches through the eyes of every spider (on Dathomir), and he's not risking going to spider hell just for killing a spider. It's also comforting in a way, feels like the one thing that wasn't taken from him when he was sold.

Rajeev Vratam

Sith Purebloods' is one of the cultures with the most 'deities', though they aren't quite such. Sith Purebloods, having evolved side by side with the dark side and created most of the forms to manipulate it, would perform rituals on their deceased relatives to make them into force ghosts. During these rituals, the spirit would be sealed into a tomb and, alongside it, multiple bodies —dressed in armor— would be buried and later reanimated as Sith zombies which were not only quite long-lived, but also highly contagious. It is believed by them that these zombies and spirits would not harm other Sith Purebloods, but even then, it is seen as taboo to enter the tomb of someone who is not related to you. However, the tombs of powerful Sith priests and lords are visited with offerings whenever someone wishes to learn more about a certain aspect of the dark side.

Sabé

While Naboo's religion has a polytheistic pantheon, Sabé believes in the goddess of protection the most. As a handmaiden, depictions of this goddess were all around the handmaidens' quarters and the hangars. She carries with her a necklace with a small statue of the goddess carved in stone, though she rarely wears it around her neck because —given her upbringing and what she was trained for— she avoids anything that can be used against her and a necklace is a choking hazard.

Headcanuary - Day 3

Prompt: technology.

A'Sharad Hett

He's not a fan of technology. Through the first half of his life, he had no access to it and while he acknowledges that it comes in handy at times, he doesn't like all of it. He doesn't own a holopad, only has a comm because it's a necessity during Jedi missions, but that's all he uses it for, and is more likely to handwrite things than to put them in any kind of device.

Luke Skywalker

Very tech-savvy. He made most of the money he earned while living on Tatooine by clearing stolen droids, ships and speeders so that they couldn't be traced back. That and he also tuned up the system of his skyhopper and his family's speeders all the time.

Mellichae

He's pretty good with technology, more so with hardware than software. His prosthetic arm is of his own making and he programmed it himself. Took him longer to program all the nerve connections than to actually build the arm, even if it's beskar and it took him some time to get enough of it to build it.

Merrin

Merrin has had a hard time getting used to technology. Her main focus was to learn binary to at least have a vague idea of what BD-1 is saying, because he kept trying to talk to her and actually warmed up to her way faster than Cere and Greez did.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

He learned most of what he knows about droids from Anakin. Before meeting Anakin, he'd never tried his hand at fixing a droid.
