🇲🇦 Have you been here before? 😍😍 ▪︎ During the day the square is full of surprising sights, from monkey trainers who have trained the apes to climb all over tourists to snake charmers, as well as dentists that expose the teeth they have recently extracted. In Jemaa el-Fnaa, you will also find numerous stands selling orange juice, spices, mint leaves and snails. At dusk, Marrakech’s main square transforms and the morning stalls disappear to give room to food stands where visitors can have dinner surrounded by Moroccan musicians playing traditional music and various other shows. If you don’t have previous dinner plans, the food at these stands is quite tasty and very cheap 🌯 ▪︎ Tag us or use #mymoroccantravel to get FEATURED 💯💯 ▪︎ @mymoroccantravel #marrakechmorocco #viajaraespaña #medinacounty #viajes #moroccotraveltips #marrakeshmedina #viajesaafrica #travelphotographyno #desierto #descubremarruecos #enjoydesert #jamaalefna #surdemarruecos #travelbloggers #souksmarrakech #moroccantraditional #soukmarrakech #maroccultures #morocco #moroccolovers #marruecosconniños #shoppingsüchtig #photooftheday #picoftheday #travelling #maroc #instagood #beautiful #traveltheworld (à Jamma El Fna, Marrakech) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQrorDQn01Z/?utm_medium=tumblr

Tips for first time visitors
Morocco is home to one of the world’s largest desert, filled with differing dialects and cultures, people here speak Spanish, French, Darija, and English. As mind-boggling as it seems at first, you’ll be amazed how intimate it feels once you get to know it.
You should decide on either a very fast-paced itinerary, which covers a lot of ground, has early starts and less free time, OR something a little more relaxed. Morocco can easily accommodate both, and even one a little more sporty. Our pace of life is relatively slower and operates on it’s own schedule - there is a siesta time for shops from afternoon prayer time till around 13:00 - 15:30/16:00. It is not that important to have a plan, it is great if you do, but it’s also easy to be flexible and book as you go once in Morocco.
We do recommend a tour company for trips to the the Sahara.  For a luxury mostly all inclusive experience we recommend Ali & Sara's Desert Palace / Moroccan Breeze Adventure Tours, erg Chebbi dunes, Merzouga, Morocco Tel   +212 (0) 668 95 01 44, email-  [email protected] OR for the more sporty types who are interested in climbing and trekking we worked and climbed with; Mohammed AIT ELKADI - Mountain Guide Tel 1: 00212(0)6.68.84.95.46 E-mail: [email protected]

Depending on your level of comfort, you should bring some cash and have an ATM available. ATMs are very easy to find in most cities, and it is also very easy to exchange money. I used to not be a big fan of carrying around a lot of cash, but here the largest denomination of bills is 200 dh or $20, and many small vendors, restaurants and even smaller hotels may not accept credit cards or access a fee per transaction.
You can survive here as a solo traveler. Morocco takes tourism very seriously and welcomes travelers from all parts of the world - including our newest visitors from China. You should follow the same cautionary tips when traveling to any new places. Don’t use cell phones too the extend that you become distracted about where you are.  Females should try to avoid going out to late alone, wear little to no jewelry, keep purses close to the body, dress modestly - avoid spandex, tight fitting or revealing clothing.
You should always have a quick check of the weather. You can’t change fate but can avoid being uncomfortable. Morocco is a conservative Muslim country and culturally appropriate for women to cover up. People will wear shorts and t-shirts, but I would recommend longer maxi skirts, capris or pants for women and jeans and long shorts ( to your knees) for men.  Pack a shawl, scarf or light jacket, especially if you are visiting a mosque, as covering the shoulders is required.  Aim for light, airy clothing that can be layered and good walking shoes.
Taxis are a safe and easy way to get around. It is not required to negotiate the price before entering the car, but it is important to make sure the meter is on. If the meter is not on, you must ask the driver and he should accommodate you if not step out of the car. If the driver refuses to use the meter you can walk away toward the street and find another who will. Often cabs wait at popular tourist stops and negotiate rates to their benefit. You can also download an application called Careem - which is similar to UBER - if you want a cab without the hassle.
Bargaining is a way of life, but you have no experience with price negotiations? When shopping, vendors are open to bargaining and come to expect it. Do not ask the price of something unless you are interested in buying it - they do not window shop like we do back home. Sellers will tell you a price, but take it being interested in commencing negotiations. If you are ready to dance, know there are 3 rounds. 1st the seller will quote a price, at this point you say, woof that is too much which is "bizef" in Darija and counter offer reduce the price by 50%, 2nd the seller will respond with another price, and 3rd find some balance between a lower but  fair price. Your purchase is contributing to the vendor and local community.  If you have a price in mind for an item, stick with it and leave if you’re not happy with the amount they are asking. If you are interested in specific items such as leather or rugs, please don't hesitate to ask about the best place to source these items.
Some experiences that should not be missed;  try some traditional Moroccan dishes like chicken rfissa, couscous or tagines, or expand your curiosity to the steet in the Medina and consider trying camel or a  chicken pastilla. There are also a myriad of fried sugary sweets that popular during Ramadan available all year. You should also enjoy sweet Moroccan tea or a café a at a nearby rooftop cafe overlooking the busy souks or seaside. Wander in the colourful medinas. Ride a camel and sleep under the stars in a desert camp. Marvel at the Andalusian influenced Moroccan architecture and the beautiful people and landscapes.
