Daily Gratitude Days: 218-233 Theme: The Journey It was recently brought to my attention that it had officially been one year and a week anniversary since I had my first solo exhibition! I have been so wrapped up on working on new projects and feeling a little exhausted and reflective upon what and who I am as an artist. I didn’t even notice or celebrate Sometimes we can get caught up in our Journey and worry about they what if’s a lot and often don’t give ourselves the chance to truly reflect and appreciate they life we have created for ourselves or the achievements we have done. When kicking off my bday week, a dear friend gifted me the opportunity to see the Joan Mitchell exhibition at @sfmoma. I knew of some of her work but not her story or seen any of her pieces in person. I was sooo inspired, I know there are many women in abstraction but we aren’t always known, sadly in most of my art teachings as a child you mostly learned of the men in the art world and not even those of color. Next up on artventures I saw @judy.chicago live at the @deyoungmuseum . It was a beautiful experience and a bit hilarious as I was on the side where at the smoke was heading to. So for moment I had to remember to breathe as it felt like I was caught in a cloud of color and couldn’t see anything clouds in front of me. So I just had to remind myself to just be still and not panic and embrace the moment. I love the idea sometimes of non tangible art. Just experience it and then let it disappear.
