Tamagotchi Uni 1.6.0: How to Use My Box Feature

One of the best features in the new 1.6.0 software update is the My Box feature which allows you to store more items than you can store on the device locally. My Box can store up to 80 accessories, 40 items, and 40 pieces of furniture. However you can not store everything in My Box, the rattle, building blocks, cleaning robot, potted flowers, tv, soda, any item downloaded using download codes, download area items, and items and furniture currently placed in the room cannot be stored in My Box.  You also cannot store more than 3 of the same item, the excess will be sold for Gotchi Points when you store in My Box.

To store items in My Box, simply select the Items icon from the main menu and navigate down to “My Box” which is at the bottom of the list. From the My Box menu, select the “Put Away” option and then select if you’re putting away an accessory, item, or furniture. Simply browse your items pressing the “A” button and then select “B” on the items you wish to store in My Box. A “Done!” message will display to confirm. 

To take items out of My Box, simply select the items icon from the main menu and navigate down to "My Box” which is at the bottom of the list. From the My Box menu, select the “Take Out” option and then select if you’re taking out an accessory, item, or furniture. Simply browse your items pressing the “A” button and select “B” on the items you wish to take out of My Box. A “Done”! Message will display to confirm.

When a select is made to either store items or take items out of My Box, you’ll see the saving screen. It is important to note that you should NOT press the reset button while on this screen as data may become corrupt. It’s not very clear where these items are being saved to, but we’re assumed some type of cloud storage.

pCloud 사용 후기

목적 : 기존 쓰던 Synology DS220+ NAS를 대체할 저장소 마련 바꾸게 된 계기 (결심의 사유) : NAS가 편리한 점도 많고 강력하지만 지금 상황에서 NAS의 모든 기능을 100% 활용하고 있지 못한 점에 따른 아쉬움. 슈퍼컴퓨터로 그림판만 쓰는 듯한 느낌과 관리의 어려움

대안 : 없음

pCloud는 스위스에 본사를 둔 것으로 알려진 클라우드 저장소 서비스 업체입니다. Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Naver MYBox, Box, SugarSync 등과 같은 클라우드 저장소 서비스인데 이 서비스의 특징은 '영구 요금제'가 있다는 점입니다. 그러니까 한번의 결제로 평생(최대 99년) 추가 요금 지출 없이 서비스를 이용할 수 있습니다.

게다가 보안적으로도 고려를 많이 해놔서 데이터 보안에 민감한 사람들, 특히 정부기관의 검열이나 사찰에 민감한 사람들도 많이 쓴다고 합니다. (다만 그 부분은 뭐 딱히 모르겠다)

서버는 개인정보와 관련해서 아주 엄격하며 천하의 Apple 조차도 무릎을 꿇고 빌게 만드는 유럽연합의 규제를 받는 유럽 서버와 그에 비해 조금 널널한 미국에 위치한 서버가 있다고 합니다. (초기에 선택 후 서버 지역을 바꾸려고 하면 비용이 발생한다고 함)

저는 2024년 특가 혜택으로 약 1000달러(한화로 백만원대)가 넘는 가격의 5TB를 33% 할인으로 얻었습니다.

많이 비쌉니다. 물론 다달히 들어가는 클라우드 저장소 요금을 생각해보면 그리 비싸다고 볼 수도 없을지 모르겠습니다.

네이놈의 MYBOX 2TB 1년 요금이 110,000원인데 pCloud 2TB의 영구요금제의 가격이 (2024년 4월 13일 현재) 399$(13일 16:40 현재 550,859원)입니다. 거의 네이놈 MYBOX 5년치 요금만 일시불로 내면 죽을때 까지(또는 임종 직전까지) 어떠한 비용적 지출도 생기지 않는 셈입니다. 게다가 MYBOX와 비교해 확장성도 좋습니다. (예컨데 현재까지 MYBOX를 지원하는 서드파티 파일관리자 앱 등은 없음)

꼭 네이놈 서비스와 비교했지만 구글드라이브나 원드라이브도 비슷합니다. (그나마 원드라이브는 1TB에 MSO365 이용권이 딸려오니 가성비는 있다고 봅니다.)

여튼 큰맘 먹고 결제를 했습니다. 이제 NAS는 처분하려고 합니다.

pCloud는 여타 클라우드 저장소와는 다르게 유료 요금제에서는 WebDav를 지원하기에 Synology의 Cloud Sync 기능을 이용하여 NAS의 데이터를 pCloud에 옮기기가 쉽습니다. 초기 세팅만 해놓고 며칠밤 켜두면 그만입니다. (따라서 NAS의 데이터 백업 용도로도 쓰시려면 쓸 수는 있겠네요)

서버가 유럽(룩셈부르크)과 미국(델라스주)에만 위치하여 타 클라우드서비스에 비해 속도가 좀 느리다고는 하지만 크게 체감이 확 되는 것 같지는 않습니다.

이틀째인데 크게 흠잡을 구석은 없어 보이는데 4가지 단점이 있습니다.

WebDav를 지원하긴 하는데 WebDav를 사용하려면 2단계 인증을 비활성화 해야만 한다. (?????) - Synology의 경우 2단계 인증을 사용하더라도 WebDav는 사용이 가능한데 여기는 그렇지 않다. 그리고 별도로 WebDav에 대한 켬/끔 기능이 없다. (2단계 인증 사용/미사용이 사실상 WebDav에 대한 켬/끔 역할을 대신함. 대신 2단계 인증 미사용시 등록된 이메일로 전송된 코드번호를 입력해야 웹과 앱에서 로그인 할 수 있는 것으로 보여짐)

모바일 앱 잠금은 비밀번호 방식으로만 가능하다. 생체인식으로 잠금을 해제하는 기능과 자동 잠금 시간 설정은 암호화 옵션을 추가 구입해야만 가능하다. (?????) - 보통의 클라우드 서비스는 무료 사용자에 대해서도 모바일 앱 잠금 및 생체인식과 자동 잠금시간 설정 등을 지원한다.

보안을 너무나 중요시한 나머지 등록된 이메일 주소가 바뀌거나 비밀번호가 바뀌거나 2단계 인증을 활성화/비활성화 하는 경우에는 무조건 기존에 로그인된 모든 환경에서 자동 로그아웃된다. 이해는 가는데 조금 불편한 부분.

모바일 앱에서 파일 동기화(Sync)를 지원하지 않는다. - 앱의 저장소 접근이 비교적 자유로운 안드로이드에서는 Auto Sync 등의 유/무료앱을 이용하면 그나마 파일 동기화를 어떻게 구현이라도 하는데 앱은 자신의 앱 내부의 파일에만 접근이 가능한 iOS 계열의 경우 방법이 없다. 어차피 iOS는 앱이 백그라운드로 진입한 경우 약 1분 뒤 앱의 모든 활동이 중지되므로 파일 동기화에 최적화된 운영체제는 아니긴 하다. 다만 만일 pCloud 앱이 파일 동기화를 지원하게 되면 pCloud에 저장된 아무 음악이나 재생시켜서 동기화를 시키는 방법은 있다. (iOS 계열에서는 음악을 재생하는 앱에 대해서는 백그라운드 프로세스에 제한을 두지 않는다. Documents 앱에서도 음악을 반복재생으로 해놓으면 동기화 작업을 이어갈 수 있다. 동영상도 PIP를 지원하면 가능하긴 한데 iOS의 경우 PIP 재생시 동영상 재생기의 이어서 재생이나 반복 재생을 인식하지 못하므로 기왕이면 음악으로 해놓자. 반복 재생을 지원하지 않는 앱이라면 1시간짜리 음악을 재생하면 된다. → 링크 (82.4MB 파일, 암호 pCloud)
