rewatching she ra more and I completely forgot about adora saying "I'm useless, no matter what form I take" and I am officially: Fucking Concerned! holy shit! she thinks she's useless without the horde, without someone to give her orders. without praise she falls apart. her entire self worth is based almost solely on outside approval because that's what she was conditioned to be. shadow weaver taught her to be dependent on her praise and instructions. she rushes to razz to try and get her approval and instructions because that's what she was taught. she was never taught she was allowed to think for herself or to be her own person.

she thinks she's useless the second she can't be what everyone tells her to be because that's what she was taught to base her self worth on. she was taught to base her worth on how well she can follow orders. holyyyy fuck.

So I kinda have two responses to this one. Well, 3, with the first being WHY HAVEN'T YOU YOU HEATHEN but that's neither here nor there (though I can tell you that last I checked it was all on YouTube) Anyway, so this fic happens about 1.5 years after the show ended. The great thing about sanctuary is it probably ended in the best way a show could unexpectedly end: by opening up a whole new world with new rules. We'll get there eventually in the berena crossover (which is taking place in the fourth season, but will eventually wind up being post-series as well). In effect, this one is way easier than the berena crossover, which is laden with the huge political arc of season 4. You could literally watch half an episode and know pretty much everything you need to know for this But that said, it does pretty explicitly spoil the end of the show. Which the berena crossover will also do because of its timeline. I love that you're reading and enjoying the crossover, and that you wanna read this too! Basically, the big thing is... If you don't want the final climax of the show ruined, you might wanna watch it before reading lol (tbh you could probably watch it before I get the relevant chap of follow me there posted lmao JUST SAYIN) but yeah, this is... A very easy pill to swallow, canonically speaking. In fact, you could probably just look at my monsoon tag (yes, I have a tag for the ep Charlotte's in) and see most of the relevant scenes ahha. If you want to know how I brought Charlotte back to the sanctuary, you can read the first few chapters of my fic "ne me quitte pas"... It follows Charlotte as she finds her way to old city to meet some of Helen's contacts and then finally to the sanctuary and documents the beginning of their relationship together If you're not worried about canon, then great. COME INTO MY ABODE, I AM CAPTAIN OF THE GOOD SHIP HELEN/CHARLOTTE (or at least I often feel like it). I've mentioned before that the timing of the berena crossover is very much me being self-indulgent and having an excuse to write these two ships together, but there won't be any content overlap between them except canon facts. Idk, I guess all I can say is I'm super stoked you wanna read about my gays (they're mine) and if you want the full effect read the first little bit of ne me quitte pas (until Charlotte comes to the sanctuary but after that I promise you smut and awkward convos bc spoiler they kinda suck at relationships poor beans) and then this and... It'll ruin the rather explosive spoilers that are coming for non-sanctuary fans reading the berena crossover but IT'S FINE though seriously check my tag /monsoon or search sanctuary season 4 episode 4 in YouTube lmao
