Annaleigh sat in her kitchen at the small round dinning table that was housed with in the space. She was breast feeding Tommy in the chair, while chatting with Luciel on the phone. The landline phone pressed between her ear and shoulder as she listened to him speak. “Okay, but only if I get to pick the film.”she replied. 

The woman smiled from ear to ear at the thought of him coming over. It seemed like ages had passed since the two of them had hung out together and she missed his company. “I’m thinking maybe Austin Powers or The Waterboy?”she suggested. They were both comedic films, but she felt like Austin Powers was much more cringe worthy out of the two she’d mentioned.

“ it’s only for your own good. ” Seven / Annaleigh

”My own good? My OWN Good?! You don’t even know what’s good for me.”Annaleigh spat, voice laced with anger. She was sick and tired of him thinking he knew what was best for her. She could make her own choices and didn’t need him trying to make them for her.

Annaleigh was furious. Did he even realize who he was talking to? She knew how to take care of herself. The woman could hold her own in a fist fight and she knew how to shoot a gun. She even owned a handgun that she hid in a lock box under her bed. Though - she’d never told anyone about the gun. 

Her right hand balled into a fist. “I can take care of myself Luciel and I don’t need you sticking your nose in where it doesn’t belong. If you really want to help you can stay out of it.”she said, glaring. 

She knew that her insomnia was a problem, but she wasn’t going to let him bully her into seeing a doctor. They were just going to put her on some medication that she didn’t need and she wasn’t going to take any medication while she was still breast feeding. It could be bad for Tommy. 

Besides, the insomnia only happened a few times a week. It wasn’t like the lack of sleep was a nightly occurrence.

She's woken up in a cold sweat, springing up right in a sitting position. Her hands grasp at the blanket, digging into the soft quilted fabric. Her heart pounds wildly in her chest as hazel green eyes stare into the wall across from her.

Annaleigh whimpers softly, trying her best to keep her emotions at bay. I need to calm down, she thinks.

Another dream about her mom plagued her tonight. The dreams were devoid of death for once and actually had a happy atmosphere. Her mother's beautiful face and the sound of her soft voice, filling her dreams. She can picture the woman dancing and singing in the dream she had. Only for it to be cut short by the dream ending abruptly.

She blinks softly, realizing for the first time that she's not alone. Her boyfriend spent the night tonight. I must've woken him, she realizes upon hearing his voice.

"I - " Annaleigh turns her head to look at him, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. In some ways, it was like she saw a ghost. The dream was so realistic. And now that she was awake, it made her sad to know it wasn't real. "I had a dream about my mom." her voice cracks.

Arms wrap around Saeyoung, pulling him into a tight embrace. Tears start streaming down her cheeks as she starts crying her heart out. "I miss her so much." she sobs.

The sound of Vanderwood's voice brings her back to reality. Hazel green eyes blink a few times, then she looks at him. She's sitting with knees pulled up to her chest, on the Choi's couch. How long has he been here? She doesn't remember hearing him come in. Unless, he'd been at the Choi's residence all night too?

She's had another nightmare and couldn't go back to sleep. She and Tommy stayed here last night. The little baby was still asleep in his bassinet in Saeyoung's room. She didn't want to wake him or her boyfriend, so she decided to come sit in the living room for a bit.

A sad sigh escapes from her lips. "I couldn't sleep, had a nightmare." she explained. Annaleigh shifts her position on the couch, letting her legs hang from the front. "What are you doing here so early?" she asks. She tips her head to the side, as curiosity fills her facial expressions.

She’s sitting on the floor, with her knees pulled up to her chest. Her chin is resting against her knees. She has a dazed look in her eyes. It’s like she’s in some far off place. “I don't know how to make it stop.” she says. Annaleigh’s body is shaking. “Please, make it all go away.” The nightmares, the bad memories, all of it. She wanted to put what happened to her mother behind her, but it’s harder said than done.

The two of them have Annaleigh’s apartment to themselves. Tommy is being babysat by one of Annaleigh’s close friends. She is getting a much needed break for a few hours and decided to invite Saeyoung over. It’s the first date night they’ve had without Tommy around in months.

She’s sitting next to him on the couch with an arm resting over his shoulders. There’s half eaten boxes of takeout on the coffee table in front of them. An old 90′s movie is playing in the background, but the movie has been long forgotten. 

Dirty words are whispered into Saeyoung’s ear and kisses are pressed to his neck as they sit together on the couch. The kisses start soft, her lips lightly brushing his neck. Then she gets a bit rougher, sucking and nibbling on the skin, leaving behind a noticeable mark in one spot. It’s going to be hard for him to cover up that hickey she’s left behind.

Annaleigh pulls back from the kisses at his comment. “Oh?” Hazel green eyes stare at his face, seeing the noticeable red color on his cheeks. “You look so cute when you blush.” she teases. She smirks, softly chewing on her bottom lip as she does so.

“You want me to stop?” she asks. She doesn’t want to do anything that will make her boyfriend uncomfortable. “We can continue the movie if you want to?” she suggests.

Annaleigh’s face softened at his confession. “And I get so lost inside yours.”she commented. Hazel green eyes were filled with warmth, as she stared at her companion. She cared about him so much and being around him always brought a smile to her face. He made her happier than words could express and she didn’t know what she’d do without him.

The young mother leaned forward, pressing the softest of kisses against his lips, after which she pulled back slowly. “I like the way your lips taste.”she breathed. A soft smile graced her lips as she looked at him fondly.

Hazel green eyes blinked away tears as she looked up at him from her place on the sofa. He must’ve gotten Tommy to fall asleep already. She sniffled, wishing he hadn’t caught her crying. She hated to cry in front of people - especially him.

Annaleigh knows she should have told him a long time ago. He’s been so open with her about his past and yet she’s been keeping most of hers’ to herself. She’s told him about being in foster care, but she never told him how she ended up there. Every time she tried, the words got caught in her throat and gunshots rang in her ears. All these years later and she is still traumatized from her mom’s death. “I’m sorry.” she whispered.

She got up from her place on the sofa, pulling Saeyoung into a hug. Now was the time, she decided. Annaleigh needed to tell him the truth. She pulled back from the hug, placing her hands on his shoulders as she took a deep breath. Hazel green eyes looked into his. “M-My mom --- ” her voice cracked. “--- She’s dead. I lost her when I was 10 years old.”

More of those tears started to fall from her eyes, spilling down her cheeks as her hands let go of his shoulders. Her own shoulders sagged and she gave in to the sadness anger and grief. “I was there --- I saw it happen. They had a gun --- Why did they have a gun?” Her voice is hoarse. Annaleigh could hear the gunshots ringing through her ears again like a plague. Her whole body felt like it was caving in on itself as she fell to her hands and knees on the floor. She can’t bare to look him in the eyes anymore, her hazel greens are staring at the floor. “I can still hear the gunshots --- and the blood --- there was so much blood.” she sobbed. Annaleigh could see the sight of her dead mother clearly, like it happened yesterday. “She wouldn’t get up --- I couldn’t wake her up. ” 

Telling this story is one of the hardest things she’s ever done in life, but she knows it has to be done. If they were going to make this relationship work, he had to know the truth. She needed him to know why she was alone. Why she had trouble sleeping and why she sometimes stared off into nothingness. “I --- I laid beside her ---- and I cried. --- I don’t know how long we were there, before the cops came. ” 

She continued to cry, her whole body shaking as she relieved that horrible memory.
