From all of the cast who's best friends with who? Like who would call dibs when teaming up?

Welp:

It's no surprise that Cole's go-to choice is Zane, but beyond the elephant in the room, they are each other's oldest + longest-lasting friend, and know each other best. They often fall into line with one another without even having to ask!

Similar to Cole and Zane, Kai and Jay tend to fall into sync automatically, as despite their tendency to take shots at each other their elements complement one another well and they both know how to get the most out of each other's fighting style.

If Nya and Lloyd weren't already Ride or Die, they'd wind up with one another anyway given how much the Core Four tend to head off doing their own thing a fair chunk of the time. Suits Nya just fine though—although we gotta be careful that Lloyd's enthusiastically destructive tendancies don't rub off on her snknksnk

Antonia probably shouldn't be weaseling her way into anything remotely dangerous, but when she does she's obviously tagging along with Jesse (at least, until Nelson gets into the picture). Jesse never fights it because he knows he's not gonna win shgfdhggd

Sunni's de facto best friend may be Samantha, but whenever she does wind up entangled with some Ninja Things, she's tag-teaming with Miranda (in which they may get distracted talking about Jay or sci-fi topics), and/or Harleigh (depending on the point-in-time...and Harleigh's mood)

This is prolly gonna sound somewhat bizarre, but I plan to have Skylor and Pixal team up often because they are both badass and cool and I desire more of their dynamic. We had a teeny taste in Crystalized and I want MOAR (...at least, once Pixal starts to warm-up to Skylor after, y'know, Skylor's dad tearing her apart and stuff.)

Olivia: Since Nya has replaced me with garbage, I'll just have to take Bridget instead 😤  Bridget: No, no you're nOT—

Brad/Sally/Gene and Chad/Maggie/Meghan all come as packaged set within their trios, though while they're not ~main~ characters, they'll show up often enough during shenanigans to be mentioned and I love their dynamics with one another (despite Chad's group being jerks at this moment in time) but aaaah I'm so excited to use them more—they're not exactly friends but they do eventually see the similarities in one another and it's so fun

Are there other people who have a crush on Zane? In the show he had a Club with fangirls and in the storie all the other ninjas have someone who likes them or think they're attractive

Short Answer is probably outside of Cole and Pixal, nobody significant would—and I'm assuming you're also referring to characters along the lines of Sunni (Jay), Samantha (Jesse+Lloyd...well, the Green Ninja specifically), Meghan (Kai), Miranda (Jay+Nya but 100% platonically), and Jesse himself (Cole). In which...I suppose you'd be correct in your deduction, but then again, Cole is doing enough pining work for twenty people :d

As for the fangirls, I haven't yet hammered out if their departure to the Dark Island is a public affair (with them making a spectacle of departing as The Ninja) or a private affair (where only people who know the secret would be attending the farewell) And if it's the latter, then there would definitely be no Zane fangirls, alas T-T)9.

Anyway, now I feel compelled to give Zane a personal fan jgfdhgfdfghf (as if I needed another OC...hmm, maybe Sally could work? Just probably in the same vein as Miranda though)

when did the characters (ninja and oc's) figure out their orientation (mainly for the people know currently know it as of book 3)

Kai: Learned he was very much Not Straight during one of Chad’s parties during his first year (before dropping out)….and then never looked back (I flip-flop on Kai being bi vs pan, but in Legacyverse he eventually sticks with being pan)

Jay: I am a huge fan of the Smith Siblings being his bisexual awakening; except here Kai was the first to do it for him snksnksnk

Cole: Was first exposed to the world of LGBT+ via crashing with Tox (who is a lesbian herself) when he ran away, and…kinda realized a few things about himself rather quickly afterwards

Nya: Also discovered she’s Not Straight in her freshman year via simply being curious, but hasn’t dedicated to calling herself anything juuuust yet

Jesse: “Of course I am guaranteed and destined to be with a woman, that’s exactly what my totally-not-homophobic father has drilled into my head for my entire life—“ *Cole exists* “—aaaand now I am bisexual”

Antonia: Has never been interested in romance for herself and fully is aware of this (romance for other people is an entirely different ballpark) but doesn’t commit to the aro and/or aroace label for herself until a little later in high school

Shocking enough I haven’t been asked this specific question before! I’m actually a little surprised it didn’t come up sooner :d

And I certainly see you’ve been doing some research if you dug up the silly bingo post skfjslfjsjakd

Anyway:

Jesse and Miranda are both 1/4th-Japanese on their father’s/grandmother’s side and half-Spanish (as in, descended from someone born from Ninjago-equivalent Spain) on their mother’s side, which is related to why they don’t exactly have “oh yeah you’re totally ____” characteristics at a glance. Mainly pulling from my own mixed heritage experience here tho (just not that exact combination, haha). We haven’t had the time to truly dig into it in the main story, but it has been referenced here and there that the siblings do speak some Spanish, while their family’s restaurant tends to skewer towards more Japanese-inspired dishes. Surprise!

Olivia takes inspiration for her movie’s voice actor, Ali Wong, who herself is of Chinese-American and Vietnamese ancestry!

Bridget’s African-American

Sunni’s got French/German genes, but this is subject to change. Still poking around with her backstory!

Harleigh’s not 100% locked in yet, still researching some stuff, but due to the red hair there’s some limited options, heh (I’m struggling with her since she’s related to Ronin + I’m still designing her mom, ahahah)

Well, funny story, she was originally going to have blue eyes, but that would’ve made her a Descendant of Lightning (and that couldn’t have plausibly worked), soooo I scrapped that. She still wears blue contacts sometimes, however, as on top of the fact she (similar to Chad) kind of has an envy for people who are inheritors/descendants (including Bridget, who is a Descendant of Sound) and doing so makes her feel more powerful as a result.

…but I genuinely can’t finish answering this question because it’s a borderline spoiler ^-^);
