Watching the Junji Ito Maniac episode "Mold", and as far as I can tell so far, it looks like it's based on the visceral terror of real life black mold taking over your house until you can afford to fix it or move
and frankly literally nothing else scary needs to happen this is the scariest story he's ever written
#if there is an episode about this show just based on the concept of bed bugs and literally nothing supernatural occurs#it will hands down be the scariest episode of television I've ever seen.#I'd rather find literally anything else in my bed then real life bed bugs again. I was going to say I would rather find a monster in my bed#but as a monsterfucker I feel like this goes without saying#I'd rather find the thing from John Carpenter's The Thing in my bed than normal bed bugs#junji ito#junji ito maniac#original#and from what I've heard about black mold it's not only a serious biohazard but extremely difficult to get out of a house#I paused to write this because I got spooked by the concept of mold - literally nothing has happened yet except for a guy going 'gross!!'#but it is one of those rare nights where staying up later than usual is not in my worst interest#I have a silly show set up to watch after this like a spookiness rip cord#friends if you ever come home to your house and it's covered in unidentifiable mold you need to get out of there until it's checked out#ESPECIALLY if the family you leased it to was drawn by junji Ito#listen I know it's a metaphor for the human mind probably but holy crap dude you got to move#well the good news is the mold was probably just a baby#like a horrific physical manifestation of a baby clinging to every surface of the house and devouring everything in it#no joke that is way less scary than the concept of actual black mold XD I was like oh thank fuck it's magic#oh fuck yeah now it's Library demon time#oh how the memories of the past do haunt us eh buddies?#Jesus fucking Christ does this guy know how to draw a scary scary scary face#oh how I would have hated him as a child#oh how I long to possess his strange and horrible powers of art now

Ember/Shroud
Okay. I decided to try my hand at an au. Does it even exist yet?
It was mostly born from wanting a more serious reason as to why Blake was scared of dogs. I kind of feel bad.
I’m just going to call it “Emotional Support Soul AU” for now. Is this something people would like to see more of? Is it even a good au? Eh, it was a fun writing exercise at any rate.
Things to note:
Adam (abusive ex) is in jail.
Blake has come a long way but has residual trauma and depression
COMMUNICATION ISSUES
Yang does have a moment of being a lil forgetful and maybe a touch insensitive but she tries to make it better
Blake and Yang were roommates in college who decided to move in together
This is mostly because of Blake’s cat
They don’t know why but being too far apart physically hurts
So oblivious
Adam probably ran a dog fight ring or trained them to attack humans because he’s a goat lookin ass
Faunas are a thing
Set in Vale
Apparently soul pets or bonded animals or whatever are things here
The animal you were always meant to own/your guardian
Even more special if it’s your soulmates pet and it adopts you
Having your soulmates bonded animal approve of you is the highest complement
Both animals getting along and approving of each human in the relationship is rare and usually means they’re soulmates or something
They will often act as wingmen
It’s how Blake and Yang truly bonded as friends
Ember is a stray that Blake rescued as a kitten. When she finds out Yang is her cat’s bonded human, she’s surprised because: blonde party girl. She tried to keep Ember; does not go well.
Yang tried to keep Ember; does not go well
She refused to leave Blake but demanded that her bonded human stay
Even the cat ships them
————————————————————
“…Yang. What is that.”
“It’s a dog, Blake. Ya know, canine? Canis Familaris?”
“I know what a dog is, Xiao Long. I want to know why it’s in our fucking apartment.”
Uh oh. This was bad. Very bad. When Blake was mad she yelled. It was a part of her passionate nature; an injustice is done and Blake will have your head. But it was when she got quiet and spoke in that dangerously low tone of voice that you should probably start backing up. And never mention that’s she’s actually really pretty when she’s mad. Additionally, she was swearing and Blake only really swore when she was really pissed off. And apparently bringing home a Newfoundland equaled really pissed off the cat faunus.
“She needed a home. The poor baby was all alone, isn’t that right, Shroud?” Yang cooed adoringly at the friendly giant laying in front of their sofa.
“That is not a baby. That is a monster that I am sure will probably kill my cat.” Shroud whined and laid her head down, the dog almost seemed hurt. What am I supposed to do about Ember, Yang?!” Almost as on cue, a slender ginger tabby slunk her way into the living room. The cat immediately trotted over to Yang, headbutting her ankles fondly, completely ignoring her actual owner altogether. Before Yang could bend down to let the cat sniff her hands, Ember locked onto Shroud. She slowly walked over sniffed the giant nose that was presented to her. What truly surprised the two girls, however, was when Ember butted her head under the giant dog’s jaw before curling up against the dogs stomach and glancing at them as if to say “this is my bed now”.
“Ember, you traiter. I saved you from the streets when you were a kitten. I raised you and loved you like my own and this is how you repay me?!” Yang wished that she could say that Blake was joking but the cat faunus could be quite… extra when she wanted to be. To say the least; she was not pleased.
Yang walked over and scooped Ember up, not without complaint, and held her out to Blake.
“Aw, c’mon mum. Can we keep her? I’ve only just met her and I love her!” She pitched her voice, wiggling Ember around as though the cat were talking. This resulted in a bitten hand and a very disgruntled cat.
“You earned that. I pay half the rent, Yang. Couldn’t you have spoken to me about this first? You know how I feel about dogs.”
“Yeah, well, that’s kind of why I didn’t.”
“So you decided to ignore how I felt and go behind my back?” Yang winced. When you put it like that…
“Look, I’m sorry that I didn’t talk to you but my old high school buddy needed her gone ASAP. I couldn’t just leave her.” Yang made sure to look her friend in the eyes. She’d learned a long time ago that eye contact was important to the other woman and Yang always tried to make sure that she knew that she had Yang’s attention.
Blake didn’t say anything for a long while.
“Fine. Whatever.” She muttered, faunus ears pinned against her head, before turning on her heel and heading to her room. Yang cringed as she heard Blake’s door slam. Their uni days had taught her when to push and pull and when to back off. This was very much a back off situation. Even if she found it hard to understand why somebody would be so deadset against a dog.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Hours later, she was laying on the floor cuddling with both cat and dog when she heard Blake walk into the kitchen. She immediately headed over and stopped short. She knew Blake. She knew what she looked like when she was ecstatic, what she looked look when she was about to kick somebody’s ass.
Yang also knew what it looked like when one of her friend’s depressive episodes were kicking in. So the sight of a drained, red eyed and shuffling Blake was not new to her. It always broke her heart to see one of the most amazing, incredible people she’s ever met hurt like this. But to know that she was the potential cause…
“Blake?” Yang had never sounded, or felt, so small. Blake breathed deeply for a moment before turning to Yang.
“He used to keep dogs. Trained them to bite and attack. I don’t exactly have pleasant memories of them.” When Blake spoke, carefully holding her hip as it ached, it hit her hard. Of course, that was in the police report when they finally managed to get Blake’s ex away from her for good. Why the hell didn’t she put two and two together?!
“Shit, Blake. I am so sorry. I don’t know why I didn’t- it doesn’t matter. I obviously hurt you and I am so, so sorry.” Yang was close to tears herself at this point. She had seen how that man had broken her friend. Watched as Blake pulled herself from the shadows and stood tall and continued to repeat that process every single time he knocked her down. Now that she was finally free of him, she could be who she was meant to be. But that didn’t mean that he didn’t still haunt her. It hurt to see the pain in the other girl’s eyes but she kept eye contact. “I’ll find her a new home as soon as possible, I swear.”
Maybe that would have been it. Maybe she would have rehomed Shroud and they would have been done with it. But the canine in question suddenly walked into the kitchen and made her way to Blake.
“Just stay still, Blake. It’s okay, I won’t let her hurt you. I promise.” Blake was frozen but before Yang could grab her, Shroud sat at Blake’s feet and stared up at her. Yang paused. It was eerily similar to how Ember had decided that Yang was her bonded person. Blake’s breathing started to even out as she gazed at Shroud, who then proceeded to flip over onto her back and wiggle, tongue and jowls flopping comically.
“Hi?” Blake’s uncertainty would have been adorable had it not been for the situation. As the dog shifted, so too did Blake, her gaze becoming more curious than fearful. There was a patch of white on the dog’s black chest, seeming to form the shape of some kind of flower. “I think the fates are fucking with me.” Blake mumbled. “Because that is a Belladonna plant.”
Yang blinked. Blake met her gaze and before too long, the two women were giggling. Perhaps it was the fact that tensions were running high or perhaps Shroud had somehow known how to break the ice with Blake. Because when Blake spoke next, she left Yang surprised.
“Keep her.” Blake inhales shakily. “But please, for the love of God; train her properly. I can’t live like that again, Yang.” Yang immediately nodded and then, unable to help herself, ran over to hug Blake.
Only to be blocked by a large furry body. Shroud wasn’t growling, merely acting as a barrier. The dog had apparently thought that Yang was going to hurt Blake and was already trying to defend her. Wasn’t there a meme online about that? “I’ve only had Blake for one day but if anything happened to her, I’d kill everyone in this room and then myself.” Evidently, that was what was going on here. Not that Yang could blame the dog. Bonded animals did tend to be extremely protective of their person, if that’s what this was.
“Uh, Blake? I think that you have a body guard now.”
“Oh.” There was a light sniffle as the emotions of the past few hours crashed over Blake. “I think that that’s fair since you stole my cat.” Yang snorted, side stepping around Shroud carefully before wrapping Blake up in a hug.
“Not my fault she’s my soul pet or whatever the hell they’re called.” Yang defended herself. “I can’t believe that I’m going to need to ask a dog for permission to hug you.” Blake giggled weakly, burying her head into Yang’s neck.
“Just… lets take it slow, yeah? I’m not going to become a dog person over night. Even if she is my bonded animal.” Yang hummed. Well, that confirmed it. Most people could tell once eye contact is made. They felt a sort of unspoken promise; the creature would protect their sworn master, so to speak. The bonded animal would then act as a sort of body guard. It was useful many years ago but now it was more about them being glorified emotional support companions. Sometimes the matchups were odd. Yang had honestly beloved hers would be a golden retriever, not her best friend’s cat. And apparently Blake’s bonded animal was her best friend’s dog, despite the fear that she held for them.
Maybe Blake would never love dogs. But Shroud could at least be one dog that Blake could at least be comfortable with. After all, people were usually gifted the animal that they needed the most.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
It was a late afternoon when Yang realised she had been right. It had taken weeks, even months worth of training and slow progress between the two but eventually, Yang was forced to admit that Shroud was meant to never hers. Just like Ember was never meant to Blake’s.
She had just come home from work and had called out to Blake when she heard distant singing coming from the kitchen. Rounding the corner revealed a very surprising sight. One that made Yang melt.
Shroud had her paws on Blake’s shoulder as the young woman danced them around the kitchen singing along to the radio. Those gym sessions were really starting to pay off for Blake.
“You could be my Queen, I could be your dream. Oh, let me be your bumblebee.” Blake giggled as Shroud barked at her. It was a sign of how far they had come considering that she used to flinch at such. “Yang loves this song. Now that I mention her...I think that you might be a much better dancer than your mother, Shroud. Even if she doesn’t quite realise that staring is rude.”
Yang blinked. She’d been caught.
“Sorry, I’m just stupidly proud of you. So proud, in fact, that I’m going to ignore that jab at my awesome dancing abilities and my pride.” Yang glanced down at Shroud, who had dropped to all fours. “You going to say hi, girl, or are you just going to abandon me for a pretty lady?” Shroud almost seemed to glare at her before looking up at Blake who nodded solemnly in return. Yang let out more than a few grumbles about traitorous mutts and reached out to pet Shroud. Until she noticed an envelope in the dog’s collar. She rolled her eyes; they had taken to using the poor dog as a messenger, after all. Opening the letter revealed a reservation for one of the new high end restaurants in Vale. She looked up at Blake in confusion.
“It’s that new faunus cuisine place I told you about. You’re free Friday at six, yeah?” Blake was smirking and leaning up against the bench.
“Um, yes, why?”
“Because if you won’t make the first move beyond telling me I’m “feisty” and “pretty when I’m mad”, then I will.” Blake narrowed her eyes. “Don’t think that I haven’t noticed, Yang.”
“Oh. Am I that obvious?” Yang swallowed nervously.
“Yes. Also your sister and her “BFF” talked to me and have me informed to, and I quote, ‘take your pining, queer ass out before Weiss kills somebody.” I’m still not sure if Weiss wants me to date you or snipe you.” Yang felt her eye twitch. Those two...
“I mean, I’m more than happy to go on date with you and all, Blake, but I kind of want to kill them, now.”
“Want to pretend like nothing’s happened and mess with them for a couple of weeks?”
“How the hell are you so perfect?” Blake simply laughed and walked out of the kitchen with Shroud in tow.
“And of course the stupid dog follows her.” Feeling a bump against her ankles, Yang looked down. Seeing Ember, Yang quickly bent to hold her up to her face.
“But as long she keeps smiling, she can keep stealing from me. I mean, your mum already has my heart and soul, what else could I possibly lose?” She asked the cat quietly. Ember purred, apparently content with the results of her meddling from way back when. Yang smiled. It always made it a little more special when your bonded animal approved of your partner. If she was being honest with herself, so she was on cloud nine. Well, up until she heard Blake’s voice float down the hall.
“I heard that. Oh, you are so never living that one down, Yang!”

Midnight Comfort
Pairings involved: Masumi / Hana Tachibana (my director OC!)
Summary: Past memories couldn’t stop haunting in her dreams, no matter how often she tried to forget them. One night, she started to talk them out with little stalker boy.
Genre: Kinda angsty at first but there’s cute stuff!
Rating: None
Sidenote: Back at writing and decided to write out this drabble I had in my notes! This is for @a3week ‘s day 2! Well, this isn’t a ship kinda story, more of a buddy-buddy kind. (cant say that to Masumi’s face cvdfbrev) And to avoid any confusions, my director OC, Hana was a musical actress! So they will be points on singing and related to those. I’ll probably share more about her if I have the chance. As per usual, recommend to read this while listening to this song! Happy reading! /o/
“I’m sorry to say this, but you’re not worthy to act here anymore.”
What-
“That’s what you call acting? A 5-year old could do better than that.”
Wait-
“You have a beautiful singing voice but sadly, that doesn’t match your acting.”
I can do better this time-
“We’re sorry to say this, but we have decided to let you go.”
Just give me another chance!-
“I’m sorry, Hana. You’re not worthy to act with us anymore.”
Please! -
“I know this is hard for the both of us but I don’t see you as attractive as you were in stage.”
PLEASE!-
“We hope someone else can take you in.”
I CAN DO BETTER!
Eyes wide open after realizing my screams had woken me. Heavy pantings, hands reaching out to the unknown, sweats trickling, the same thing again. Again, that same traumatic dream. Again, that same scene playing in repeat like a broken record. Again, alone in my room with scrambled thoughts in my head. Again, those nights have come to haunt me. Honestly speaking, I haven’t had these dreams for so long after coming to Veludo Way and thought it would last. But I guess hoping was a little too soon. Incapable of going back to sleep, I head out to the kitchen. Maybe a cup of chamomile tea would ease me a little.
And just when I thought I was alone in this room, a single ahoge hair bopped near the kitchen counter. “I can see you, Masumi!” I softly exclaimed. “You don’t have to hide behind the counter there. You can come out now.” Slowly the little stalker boy came out of his hiding spot and scratched the back of his neck with tints of red on his cheeks, “I’m so happy that kantoku knows where I am, my heart can’t stop pounding fast. Is this how destiny feels like?“ Like a high school girl in love (even though he is), listening to him spouting all the cheezy lines was a normal routine, between me and Masumi, of course. Even though the two of us were alone in the kitchen, I would expect Masumi to be excited about it but instead, a confused expression plastered on his face. “Kantoku, if you don’t mind me asking, why are you up at this hour?“ Stunned by his question, I tried my best to act normal, not wanting to show my weakness. “well, I couldn’t sleep so I was just gonna make some tea, is all.”
“Can I drink with you?“
“But it’s just chamomile tea.“
“I want it too.“
Whenever I opposed, he wouldn’t take no for an answer. So might as well make one for him too. Even though he seemed like he doesn’t like the taste, he did took a few sips to ‘impress me’. Looking at his act did gave me a chuckle, but the sudden silence and awkwardness made me anxious for some reason. Cupping the warm mug tight to calm myself, a small warm hand covered my hands. Masumi, who had been watching my act, gave a pouty look and asked, “Kantoku, you don’t look good. Is everything okay?“
“Eh? Oh no! I’m perfectly fine!“
“The tea did something to you, has it?“ He eyed on the mug.
“No, it’s not the tea. In fact, the tea calms me.“
I can tell Masumi is jealous of the tea, as per usual. “Then, is there something wrong?“
“No, nothing’s wrong.“
“Kantoku, you don’t have to hide about it.“
Now, that surprised me. Does he somehow know what I’m going through? Does my face look that obvious? I looked away, not saying a word. “You had a bad dream, did you?“
“H-How did you know that?“
“It was a guess. It’s true then?“
“W-What? No, I don’t get nightmares haha. In fact, I just had a very nice dream.“
“Was I in it?“
“.....No.“ He pouted, but ushered me to continue.
“Well, I was acting on stage after a long time. Man, it felt so long since I last acted. You guys do know I used to be a musical actress, right? We did sang and danced, poured our hearts and efforts in that play. It was fun.“ Fun enough to dream about it. Would have wished that it would come true but I know it won’t happened. “But what made you stopped acting?“
Looking at the boy with my eyes widened, that question should have been expected to stab me any moment and yet, I would rather not talk about it. What if those nightmares will come haunt me again and never go away? At that moment, Masumi slowly placed his hand on the back of my head and gently pushed onto his shoulder. For someone who’s a little shorter than me, my neck didn’t craned much to meet his height. “It’s gonna be okay, kantoku. I won’t judge. Everyone has their own fears to hide from, but I don’t want to see you hurt because of it.” His words touched my heart, as if the wounds had sewed with it. “Take your time, kantoku. I’m here for you.“
I may have heard those words a million times before, but this time, it did calm me a little. His words did gave me the comfort I need. For all the days I have struggled alone, I wasn’t expecting myself in the need of someone to lend an ear about my nightmares. I thought people would thought suffered from a nightmare is unprofessional so I just kept it shut. But not from this boy. Almost like he sensed my need of help deep inside my heart. Almost like he can tell I was trying to look strong and cheerful in front of others just to hide it. This boy... How is he doing it? Taking few deep breathes, I finally decided to open up. About my fears, about the nightmare I had, about the reason why I stopped acting. Once in awhile I looked at his way, he nodded and sometimes stroked my head, accepting my rants and stories into account. Yeah. Maybe this isn’t so bad after all. Maybe not all people would judge the things you experience in life, and that reliefs me to know.
After pouring all the rants, I sighed in relief, feeling like my heart is now empty from all the guilt and fears inside me. I lifted my head up and faced Masumi, “You know, I never thought I would lash out everything to someone like you, and yet you listened thoroughly from start to end. I appreciated, Masumi. Thank you.“ Despite being in the darkness with only the moonlight’s support, I could see the red tints of blushes on his cheeks. “Ah, I got complimented by kantoku. Did my manliness support captured your heart?“ I sighed. Well it is to be expected coming from Masumi but I instead gave him a smile, the gentle kind of smile as gratitude. “Ah, look at the time. We both better get back to sleep for tomorrow’s practice.“ I picked up both of our mugs to wash it up and was about to head back to my room when,
“Kantoku!“ I stopped my tracks. “Before that, could I ask you for one thing?“ I tilted my head and give it some thought. Well, he did helped me out so willingly so I guess giving him some help would be my way of gratitude. “Sure. What’s up?“
“Can you sing for me?“
“EH?!“
“I only heard you act in musicals but I haven’t heard you sing. I wanna hear it.“
“But Masumi... Maybe some other time with the others?“
“No. I wanna hear it first before the others.“
I sighed again. Oh well, I’ll give a shot. Clearing my throat, I tried to remember the few lines of the songs I sang in past musicals and started singing. It’s a softer tone of the song since well, we’re standing in the middle of the night and I REALLY don’t wanna wake the others, especially the tiger. After ending my song, I looked over at Masumi, witnessing a teenage boy completely shocked with his mouth opened.
“Kantoku... That’s...“ His facial expression changed to the teenage boy in love I know of. “That was... beautiful.“ I laughed embarrassingly. “I wanna hear more of it.“ “OKAY, THAT’S IT FOR TONIGHT. GOOD NIGHT, MASUMI!“ I hurriedly went back to my room and flopped myself to bed. And before I knew it, I was already fast asleep and no nightmares come taunting me ever since. Really, I thank you, Masumi.

Chapter 13 - How Lucky
With the sputters of coughing from a poor soul that had slept during the commotion, Ria was doing her best to help Matthew remove whatever water was left in his system.  Raven was just staring off ahead in the direction that Mia and Lotus had moved to, but it wouldn’t be much longer of a wait as the two of them resurfaced.  One face held a very distraught look while the other seemed too calm for his own good.
“So what do we have?” Raven would break the almost silence.
“Our new friend is sound asleep.  Probably be resting for awhile.  Mia or I will end up questioning her.” Lotus spoke before maroon eyes moved over to the woman that was only growing more annoyed by the minute.  Before long, she would slam down the drawing with the symbol.
‘Y’ know this?” Mia asked.
“... Seems familiar, but I don’t rea-”
“You haven’t told them A THING!?” Mia interrupted rather quickly as she turned back to Lotus, growing more furious.
“No one asked,” Lotus responded, casually.
“’kay!  Yer an absolute fool, an’ these guys been standin’ ‘round ‘ere not knowin’ o’ a very powerful figure ‘n the world ya done pissed off ages ago!”
“To be fair, I didn’t tell ya either ~ You dug through my belongings and found out for--”
“Will you two shut up for just a minute and actually GET TO THE POINT?!” Confused, Raven stood himself up with a hand slamming on a table to get a point of his own across.  “Besides, who hasn’t this idiot pissed off?”
“He has a poi-” and a smack to the face from the enraged Mia.
“I know that symbol...” Ria would point out after moving over to examine it.  Disheartened to say the least, she looked over to the group, mainly toward Lotus.  “Just ... how much do you know, Lotus?”
After a moment of silence with all eyes on the chef, he would finally shrug as he turned his back with a hand moving behind the long, darkish red hair to pull back and reveal a marking, the very symbol that was sketched on the paper.  “I know so much that my ol’ boss gave me the gift of silence.  I’m actually very useless telling you everything.  The second I spill terrible secrets is the second I cease to exist.  Brutal, ain’t it ~?” Lotus spoke almost too calmly for the situation he was in.  The only benefit was that he could speak a little bit considering he doesn’t know the current situation and what his plans are.  He use to know.  Maybe that’s his loophole?
Taken back, Mia would begin to back a few steps from Lotus as Raven just stared in disbelief.  “Man, you told me you had dark days.  That’s a little crazy, don’t you think?”
“Being the terror I was back then? Losing myself? Yeah, I went too far.  This mark is a very strong reminder of how stupid I can be.” Lotus would speak before giving a soft chuckle.  Despite all of this, the look of pain was evident in his eyes.  His past was haunting him, and he wasn’t sure if he could do anything about this one.  He could protect anyone that stepped in his palace, sure.  He wasn’t about to go up against someone like him.  Not with that mark on him.
“W-well.  If you can’t say anything, I know I can,” Ria held her hands out in front of him, fidgeting a bit from memories.  “Yuuma... He caught me some months back while I was running around.  He was looking for strong candidates to research but... That’s all I got.  I was able to escape when someone lost focus.  He... didn’t do anything to me, but I saw what he was doing to everyone he had caught.”
“Everyone?” Raven asked.
“Different species, different people.  Killing, experimenting...” for a moment, the girl was starting to breath heavily, remembering all that had happened.  A sharp breath as Raven would put an arm around her and hold her close to him.  The ensuing panic attack would be stopped for the time.  Everyone pretty much had an idea of what was going on.  But why?
“I’ll... Look more inta this m’self,” Mia finally spoke before looking back to Lotus.  “Ya better take care of yerself, moron.”
“Aw, Bloodbait really does care.  How disgusting ~” he commented that only earned a growl as she moved out of the Cafe to catch up with her dearest Idol.
Matthew had remained quiet for the time before standing himself up and moving over to Lotus.  A quick pat to his back as he gave a bright grin.  “Don’t worry, buddy!  I bet I can get rid of that for ya!  During some downtime, I’ve been trying to get a better understanding of Raven’s powers, so I’m sure I can maybe figure something out with you!”
“Oh dear ~ Lil’ Destruction is gonna try to save me... or blow me up.  Look, it’s fine.  It’d be better not to try to meddle with this thing.  I’ve seen what it does to people.  It ain’t fun for the victim or anyone around.”  A comment that left Matthew with a frown and a bit of a blow to his pride.  Maybe he was right.  He had no idea who this boss even was.  Looking behind him, a brief moment had him catching a sight of blue that quickly disappeared as he looked.  Was he seeing things...?  Huh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I told you not to trust any of them, but do you ever listen?” A violin set down next to a male with long, thick pink hair.  Strands of white existed that covered over the left side of his face.  “None of these guys knew anything, and the majority ended up breaking before they could even talk.  No one recovers from facing their fears.” A voice that held aggravation as the only sound that would be heard next is the sound of someone messing around with their zipper.  “You were probably too busy getting your dose of a good time.  Vile beast.”
“Mmmmm ~ Don’t be like that.  You’re sounding jealous,” a soft, seductive voice that ended in a bit of a hiss which only made the agitation grow in the male.  “Maybe you have some tension that needs released, hmm?  Besides, it isn’t my fault you’re so strooong with your brilliant music.”  A hand was resting on the zipper of a small jacket that hugged her body too well.  Reddish blonde hair fell over her shoulders as she swayed her head over to stare at the pinkette that was losing his mind.
“Just-- Shut the hell up and go find a body to desecrate or whatever it is you’re into, Beast.  It’ll be awhile before my friends return,” the male spoke as he grabbed the violin from next to him.  A bow forming in his hands, he would begin to play a haunting melody to simply pass the time.
“Ooooh ~ My favorite,” she commented as she stopped messing with the zipper, leaving it opened enough to expose some cleavage and enough to show there may not be anything at all underneath the outfit.  Her only thoughts now was to her slow dance as she moved along to the violinist’s rhythm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the cafe growing quiet, Lotus decided to get up from his chair and make a move toward the room the mermaid was sleeping in.  Not a word had been spoken for awhile as everyone seemed lost to their own thoughts.  Someone was targeting the species of the world which was not good for anyone.  Peace being disrupted like this would eventually cause a war somewhere down the line.  A small groan left Matthew and Ria moved to pat the other’s head.  “There, there.  It’ll be alright.  Right, Raven?”
“... Eh, probably.”
“Come on!  Don’t be like that!  Have some faith!”
“You all getting involved with some guy that is probably the biggest name in power?  This is even out of my league.  If he’s as strong in politics as he apparently is in controlling people, I’m pretty sure cops aren’t going to speak.  ... Okay, maybe I’ll check some files at the station.  Probably won’t find anything, though.”  He had started to get a very icy stare from the other until he had mentioned he would look around at least.
The sound of the door coming open, Raven would glance up and wave off the male.  “We’re closed,” he commented.
“Ah!  Sorry, that’s alright.  I’m not here for food,” a male dawning a black jacket, nice looking dressy black pants, and wrapped in some cloth would approach the group.  Violet eyes stared at the curious crew before a smile was given.  “I’m looking for someone very important.  I heard of a kidnapping, and I was sent down to investigate.”
“Don’t know you, don’t recognize you, I call your bluff unless you can tell me who sent you or where you are stationed at.” Raven was quick to comment.
“Not like that, Officer.  Ah for what it might be worth, Her people sent me.  The one you’re helping take care of.”
“And how do you know any of this?” Matthew would be next to speak up as he stood next to Raven.
As he lifted his head a bit, more of his face could be seen.  Black hair with some violet strands hugging his face.  He could see this would be difficult.  “I’m a friend that could even help your friend.”
