And the squad is silent as they listen, as all these layers get pulled back and they catch a glimpse of a side of Liv they've never seen before. Well, none of them but Fin, who knows all this already.

Liv explains given what she knows about Joe, and given the fact he kept up with Liv, this missing woman, whoever she is, was probably born the same way Liv was, but maybe her mother gave her up for adoption. They can't go digging through court records, but they have her blood type, an approximate age, and they can check missing persons for a woman matching that description.

And they get a hit. A high school guidance counselor, about the same age as Liv, with the same dark hair and dark eyes, with the same blood type.

She's now terrified for Noah, works with Elliot to get him somewhere safe. Elliot brings him into the station.

She gets to know her sister. Laura's adoption was closed so she has no idea how she came into the world and Liv is reluctant to tell her. This woman is kind and shockingly upbeat and just so normal. Olivia doesn't wanna ruin that.

But word is getting out. There's a parade of faces, cops, lawyers, old friends, coming to check on Liv, coming to check on her sister. Sister is sort of impressed; the story her new sister has told her is horrific but there are all these people, so many people, eager to love her.

Sister overhears fractured conversations with Elliot and goes 👀👀👀

Brian Cassidy comes by, let's say, cause he heard it was connected to Lewis and not only was he dating Liv when it happened he's the one who put her back together after, stayed with her through all that trauma and growth, moved in with her, loved her through it, and he knows what it means to her and he has to see her.

And then!!! It's over!!! And they get to be a happy family!! And sister is inducted into this world full of people who love Olivia, and love her sister by extension, and there's a real sweet moment near the end where Olivia gets to the station late at night and she goes into the cribs and finds Elliot and Noah snuggled up and Noah is fast asleep and Elliot holds out his hand and Liv comes and squeezes into the tiny bunk with them and they all sleep together.

Laura's psychology degree is screaming at her that something is going on with Olivia. At first she doesn't know Liv is her sister. Liv explains that she's a police officer, and that they think Liv is involved bc the man who took Laura, he hurt the dead woman in a very specific way. A way Liv herself got hurt. Cassidy turns up (Laura's husband is out of town on business) and he's cracking jokes and being dumb in that way he has that's meant to put people at ease. He gets them somr macaroni and cheese from the cafeteria. Laura likes him and she sees the intense way they are with each other. But then she hears the phone calls with Elliot. Elliot turns up the next day while Liv and Noah are in with Laura. Liv is sitting down. Elliot is explaining to Laura that they caught the guy and she doesn't have to worry but she's watching his hand settle heavily on the back of Liv's neck.

Hello new friend! Welcome to my blog!

And oooh ok! This will get kind of long so I’ll put it under a read more.

@ilonacho and I met in late November/early December of 2015. My friend @prismatoons and I were really into the Disney show Penn Zero: Part time Hero (and still are tbh. idc if it’s ended, it’s still prominent in our lives and will be forever) and one day when I was on vacation, I got a message from her to check out some new artwork that showed up in the tag. The fandom was incredibly small, so news of anything new, especially art, was an immediate “STOP THE PRESSES” kind of moment. 

If you check out her art tag you’ll see how incredible she is, and I was floored by her style and how she drew the characters. So, like the friendly idiot I am, I really wanted to introduce myself, but I was incredibly shy. But, since there were only a handful of people to talk to about PZ, I had to suck it up and approach her if I wanted a new fandom friend, so I stumbled my way into her ask box to let her know that I loved her artwork, and since she was new to the fandom, I’d love to introduce her to people and be a friend if she was looking to talk about the show with anybody. I think I scared her cause I feel I was way too forward in being like “HELLO, WANNA BE FRIENDS?” but like I said, I was a shy. I thought she was super cool and it’s like, who am I to just barge in here and say hello? Lol but anyway…

That leads me to the day things sort of changed I guess? We’d talked through the askbox only a couple of times, and then one day I noticed she had followed me. I was so excited because again, I thought she was the coolest person in the world, and here she is, following me back when she states on her own blog that she doesn’t follow that many people in order to keep her dashboard short and clean, and I was just like “mOM HOLY FUCK”

I told her I was so happy about it and her immediate response was “uhhhhh that was an accident, I dropped my phone on my face and it followed u by mistake” and when I was like “hnnnnnn u can unfollow me if u want” she said it was cool and would keep it the way it is cause I think she felt bad about it. But either way, ever since that incident we started talking more and more and we started hanging out off tumblr like on streams and stuff, and it got to a point by New Years 2016 I had developed a mondo crush. 

Mutual friends started asking us both questions the more we started hanging out and how we interacted together, and we both found out through the grapevine that the other had a crush on us. Just before Valentines Day 2016 we talked about it with each other, but we were unsure of actually dating. We’d just met like two months prior, and even though we were both over 18, we still had a pretty big age gap of 7 years which made me uncomfortable as the older one. Not to mention that long distance between the states and Denmark was a nightmare. We were currently 6 hours apart and I was about to move in a month to California where we’d be 9 hours apart. Didn’t really seem like a good choice, so we decided to stay friends.

In July of that year, I’d settled well in LA, and a co-worker of mine asked me on a date. I said no because at the time I realized that the only person I wanted to be with was Ilo, so I was kind of turned off with wanting to date other people. Another coworker and I talked about it and she recommended that if I wasn’t going to date anyone because I couldn’t get Ilo off my mind, I should just try out the long distance. Ilo and I for months had back and forth conversations about dating where we talked about our fears and wants in relationships, what we were both looking for, what we were both scared of, what we would do if it worked out or didn’t work out, etc, so when I brought this to her attention, she felt she was ready to give it a try, and by then I was ready to try to. So we officially got together on July 25th 2016. 

She first came to visit me here in the states for Valentine’s Day 2017 for about a week. I was very nervous because it was our first time seeing each other in person and I was scared about a lot of things as you could imagine. But when she landed, and I picked her up from the airport, everything felt so…right? I was so awestruck with my crush on her that I missed our exit driving back from LAX and had to take the long way home lol. By the time we got to my apartment, everything felt natural. Neither of us were worried or uncomfortable, and it was almost as if we’d known each other forever.

We went on our first date the day after she got in. It was February 12, 2017 and we went to Universal Studios Hollywood. From there, we had a wonderful week of going to Disneyland and going out to dinner on Valentines Day, and we saw movies together, and painted pottery. It was fantastic and it was so sad to see her leave. She was able to come back for two weeks in the summer to see the Penn Zero finale with me, and then I went to spend two weeks with her and her family in Denmark for Christmas that year. During the time apart and how heart breaking it was to see the other go, I think that’s when I realized it was a lifelong love and neither of us wanted to go without the other. 

We talked a lot about her immigrating to the United States to live with me fulltime since currently she can’t stay in the country anymore than 90 days, so we did a lot of research about how to go about it. We came to the decision together that the best option for us would be to get married in Denmark in Fall of 2018 and have her immigrate to the US as my wife. 

We hadn’t lived together more than 2 weeks at a time, so she came to stay with me between February thru April of this year to see if we could live together for a long period of time. And let me tell you, it was the best 3 months of my life. We’d got into a chore routine, a life routine really, and being able to wake up to her every morning was the best way to start the day (even that one time when she elbowed me in the face). No matter how early it was, 4am or 5am, she’d get out of bed and walk me to the front door as I left for work to kiss me goodbye and make sure I remembered my phone, keys, wallet, etc, even when she was half asleep and groggy. She always walked me to the door no matter what. During that time we also went home to Florida so I could introduce her to my parents, and they loved her just like her parents loved me. 

My mom and I were lying in her bed one morning while Ilona was still sleeping in the guest room, and she told me she thought Ilona was perfect for me. We had a heart to heart where we talked about a lot of personal stuff, but she said more than anything, she and my father wanted me to be happy and to find someone who would love me the way they did, and she said “I see how she takes care of you. It’s the little things she does, like goes behind you to make sure you’re okay, those little things show me and your Dad that she really loves you and we’re so happy for the two of you” like I cried so much. And she and my dad have a 6 year age gap between them, so she as the older one told me not to worry too much about what other people think. As long as we communicate and have a balanced relationship, things would be okay, and they are. 

So right now here we are: we’re getting ready for our TMNT wedding coming up soon where my dad and I will fly to Denmark for a week. My mom would go too but she can’t travel very well so that’s why we’re going to have a second wedding here for my friends and family in 2020. At that point at that ceremony I’ll take her last name and we’ll officially start our family. 

So that’s where our love story is right now! Full of happy tears and cartoon turtles lol She’s also going to come back to the states between mid-October and early January so we can spend all the holidays together. Hopefully the next time she returns will be for good!

And for the record: i still have a mondo crush on her.

When It Comes To You(Jungkook)

Request: Can you write a fluff about Y/N going on tour with BTS and during one of the concerts, Jungkook asks to bring her out on stage where he officially asks her to be his girlfriend. He could bring her out on stage and a sing a song and then ask her. Thank you so much! :)

Being an idol wasn't easy work. Even though there were some people who thought it was just learning some dance moves and getting on a stage to sing or rap. There were vocal lessons, recording dance practices, learning choreographies, writing lyrics, meetings with all your bosses, endless flights to different places, and numerous interviews, both in Korean and English, along with making sure you connect with your fans a certain amount of time every week. You were well known in places all over the world, nowhere near as big as groups like BTS, but you definitely had a large fanbase.

Bangtan had a big tour starting, their group along with 3 others. You were one of the 3. Nobody knew who the 3 were other than the people in the companies because  BigHit is shady and doesn't want anyone to know anything until it happens. You were packing your bags, getting ready for the van to take you to the first stop of the concert. You made sure you had all your necessities, and some stuff you didn't really need, but wanted with you. You double checked your bag and suitcase, putting stuff in that you had missed the first time you checked. While you were zipping up your bag, your phone went off with a text message.

Kookie Crumble: Hey, are you almost ready? We're waiting out by the van. You sighed and zipped your bag up the rest of the way before texting him back. You: Yeah, coming down now. Thanks for waiting.

Since the van was big enough for Bangtan plus one, they offered you to ride with them since the other 2 groups had multiple members. You took the elevator down to the first floor, handing your card over and exiting the hotel, looking until you saw the members standing outside the van. You made your way over, the staff putting your bags in the back. Namjoon helped you in the van, getting in behind you so you were sitting between him and Jungkook. Jungkook grinned when you looked over at him and you couldn't help but grin back. His little bunny grin just made anyone near him smile or laugh.

"Did you like the hotel? We pretty much were either in the room or out in the pool." Jimin said, taking out a little bag of chips.

"Jimin! Did you take those from the front desk?!" you asked, a grin trying to etch its way onto your face. His expression dropped and he pulled his puppy dog eyes out.

"It said it was for paying customers! It didn't say you had to still be staying there. We paid!" he said, grinning and reaching into the bag to pop another chip in his mouth. You shook your head and pulled your phone out. You furrowed your eyebrows when you saw Jungkook had sent you a text message since you'd been in the van. Why was he texting you when he was literally sitting right next to you? You knew better than to ask him that out loud. You weren't an idiot.

Kookie Crumble:Why didn't we see you that much while we were here? You: I'm sorry, I mostly just caught up on sleep. I didn't even eat that much.

You saw him read your text out of the corner of your eye and he leaned up towards the driver. You heard him ask something, but you couldn't make out what it was that he asked. The driver told him yes and he sat back in his seat. He didn't text you back. The conversation was turned to Yoongi staying in his room and just sleeping the whole time.

"I didn't see him the entire time we were there. I saw y/n more than I saw Yoongi hyung." Jimin said, laughing. You joined in and looked over at Yoongi, who was already asleep in his seat.

"He really is like a rock, isn't he?" you asked, making Namjoon laugh. The car ride turned to silence as everyone was either on their phones listening to music, or had fallen asleep before you got to the venue for the first sound check and makeup.

"Anyone hungry?" you heard Jungkook ask as you saw the van pull up to the drive thru of Taco Bell. Everyone agreed and told the driver what they wanted. You felt bad for him. Ordering food for seven insanely hungry boys who seemed like bottomless pits, plus you seemed to be a struggle for him to get it all right. The food was administered to each person and you silently thanked Jungkook by smiling at him. Now you knew what he had asked the driver.

You arrived at the venue, a huge line of people already lined up outside. There were even people in sleeping bags. Everyone pulled their earbuds out of their ears and woke up the, once again, sleeping members. You dragged yourself out of the van and rushed through the back door with the rest of the members. You bid all the boys goodbye and headed to your dressing room. Before they started on your hair and makeup, you had your soundcheck first. You headed out onto the stage and they started your first song. You didn't do too much of the choreo, not wanting to tire yourself out before the actual concert. You looked out and saw some of the fans they had let in and all the boys watching you.

Your eyes landed on Jungkook and you instantly smiled. You had never told anyone, not even your best friend that you had had a crush on Jungkook. You knew how to hide it so nobody could tell and so far, you had done a pretty good job of it. You were almost 3 years older than him, and despite him saying multiple times that he was interested in older women, you couldn't help but wonder if that was just the company making him say that because he was the maknae. You managed to tear your eyes away from him and continued with your song, walking around the stage.

After a few songs, all of Bangtan stood up, dancing and singing along with the song you were singing. The choreo was difficult, probably the most difficult you had, but the boys had it down. The other two groups were laughing and singing along, but they didn't know the choreo that well. Jungkook made a point of making sure you could see him dancing along, not missing a beat and getting even the smallest motion down. You blushed when you made eye contact and you looked down, getting shy. You were never shy with guys. But there was something about Jungkook that got to you.

You had finished your soundcheck and headed back to your dressing room. You sat in your chair and let the stylists start working their magic. You were scrolling through your SNS when you got another text message. From Jungkook.

Kookie Crumble: You're going to be great. Don't be nervous. You sounded amazing.

You smiled and closed the app, pulling up your camera and snapping a picture of your stylist fixing your lip color. You sent it to Jungkook and locked your phone, setting it on your lap. It wasn't too much longer and you felt your phone vibrate. You unlocked it, your smile growing into a grin when you saw  Jungkook in the exact same position, his stylist fixing his hair as a grin was etched across his face. He was adorable.

You: Good luck tonight. I hope everyone loves your new song. It's amazing. Kookie Crumble: Thank you. I'm kinda nervous about it, but, as long as you're there, I think I'll be ok.

You bit the corner of your lip as you stared at the screen. What the hell did that mean? By this time, the other groups had went before you and finished their stage. You shook the thoughts of Kookie's text from your head as you warmed up your voice. You were opening for them. The very thought made shivers run through your body. You were opening for BTS. After the stylists were done with you, you got dressed in your stage outfit and headed out to where your manager was with your mic. They got the mic placed and secured on you before you made your way up the stairs, your heart pounding in your chest.

You ran into the boys and they cheered for you as you waited for the signal to head out on the stage. When you stood on the platform, you could hear the cheers automatically start and you grinned. Your fans were the best. The platform opened for you to step out onto the stage and your fans got louder. You performed your set list, the fans getting louder song after song. They sang with you, they laughed with you, some of them even knew the choreographies. It was time for you to bid them goodbye, promising to come back when the opportunity arose. You waved one final time with a grin on your face as you ran off the stage. Bangtan had stayed the entire time on the side, singing the lyrics and dancing with you. Jungkook immediately opened his arms and you flew into them, the adrenaline still running through your veins.

"Oh, just hurry up and ask her out." you heard Hoseok mutter under his breath. You smiled slightly, but didn't show any other sign that you had heard him. Jungkook let you down and you walked back with them, wiping sweat off your forehead with the back of your hand. The boys had about 10 minutes before they had to be on stage, so they went back to your dressing room with you. Each boy took a selfie with you; either you sitting on their lap or making a funny face. You were comfortable with them, they were like your brothers. They helped you a lot when you first started your career and you were thankful for that. When they got the signal to get their mics on, they left your room, Jungkook leaving with one final hug.

"You're going to do great, Kookie. Everyone's gonna love that song." you told him. He grinned and nodded, hugging you one more time. He was getting awfully touchy here lately. You watched the stage from the monitor in your room, heading out to side stage when they went on. BTS concerts were unreal. The lights, the dance, the music, their voices in general were amazing. You danced along to some of the songs they performed, a grin etched on your face the whole time. It was finally time for Jungkook's solo stage and you couldn't wait to hear his song again. The other members came to side stage, leaving Jungkook along with his microphone.

"Before I start this song, I'd like to ask someone very special to me come out here and sit on this stool. I've never told this person this, but I started having feelings for this person since the first time I've met them, and there's been a lot of speculation going around about it, so I decided to go ahead and clear it up here for good. So, I'd like to ask them to come out on stage and sit down." he said, and the audience went crazy. Oddly enough, all the boys looked at Taehyung.

"No, guys...y/n. Jesus, really?" Jungkook said, rolling his eyes. Everyone looked at you and your eyes bugged out of your head. Jungkook liked....? No. No way. Your legs started working before your brain did and you walked out onto the stage, your fans and their fans getting louder than they had ever been.

Jungkook pulled the stool out and sat you down on it, smiling as Yoongi walked across the stage, sitting down at the big piano that was in the corner. You furrowed your eyebrows as Yoongi's fingers started drifting across the keys, a beautiful melody ringing out.

"No limit in the sky that I won't fly for ya. No amount of tears in my eyes that I won't cry for ya, oh no. With every breath that I take, I want you to share that air with me." Your breath caught in your throat as the fans started cheering, and you ducked your head as you felt tears spring to your eyes.

"When it comes to you, there's no crime. Let's take both of our souls, and intertwine. When it comes to you, don't be blind. Watch me speak from my heart. When it comes to you, comes to you." His voice rang out through the venue and you finally looked up at him, tears falling down your cheeks as you heard him singing. This was what literally millions of girls dreamed of. Having their idol crush singing songs like this to them, and you were actually living it. Jungkook looked down at you and smiled when he saw your face. Those tears told him everything he needed to know. He was going out on a limb doing this; not even rest of the guys knew about it, except for Yoongi.

You looked over your shoulder at the side stage and the boys were all grinning, giving you a thumbs up. You laughed slightly and looked back forward at Jungkook, taking his form in. His oversized, black, long sleeved sweater, some ripped up blue skinny jeans, and his Timbs. You slowly stood up, walking behind him and wrapped your arms around his body, your hands resting on his chest as you pressed your forehead against his back. You felt him reach up and his hands rested on top of yours, his fingers intertwined with yours. You grinned and shook your head slightly.

The melody drifted away, leaving you and Jungkook standing there in the midst of thousands of cheers until Jungkook turned around. He looked down at you, his fingers coming under your chin to tilt your head up to look at him. You looked into his eyes and smiled when he actually didn't look away. You saw him leaning down and you bit your lip as you raised on your tip toes, reaching him half way as your lips met. It was just like the cliche. You saw stars and you reached up to cradle his face in your hands as you kissed him back with more fervor, him meeting you every step of the way.

He pulled back and grinned down at you. He went back to the microphone and held it in his hand.

"Y/n, I think everyone just got your answer anyways, but I want to ask officially." You nodded and smiled as he looked out at all the people there. He looked back at you and looked you up and down swiftly.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked and everyone erupted into cheers when you nodded and ran at him, jumping on him and wrapping your legs around him as he cradled you in his arms, kissing you again. He walked offstage with you and sat you down, ignoring the catcalls and whistles from the boys. He pulled back and held your hands.

"That was fucking nerve wracking." he laughed, kissing you once more.

A Glimpse Of Hope

When I was walking to work today I was playing some song that were downloaded on my phone.  I try to play music to get me in the mood to work.  About the 3rd song in, my phone played the song I made for Trenece for her birthday a couple of years back.  I actually wrote the song and recorded it on a video in like 30 minutes.  That was back in the day when we were just close friends.  I played it for her during nap time and emailed it to her.  A couple years later, after we had reconnected, I went to the studio and recorded it and gave the CD to her for her birthday.

Listening to the song brings up a lot of different feelings.  I remember listening to it and thinking to myself, “Why would I do this for someone who obviously does not feel the same way that I feel about her?  And what is going through her mind when she listens to this song??”  It took a lot to fight through the feelings and continue on with life.  Some of the most happiest moments where when I just knew that she wasn’t coming back in my life.  That she was happy with whoever she was with at the time and it was all for the best.

But then I hear from her cousin or her sister that she is going through something and that the person she is with is “going out for self”.  That made my heart hurt knowing that she would be better off with me.  That I would be there for her and help her grow and become the woman that God intended her to be.  When she came back the very last time, I had no idea what to think,  I mean... to this day, I still worry about her leaving me and going off to do her own thing.  Especially because of what happened a couple of weeks ago.  The kids don’t seemed to be phased.  Yet that could be a big front just because they love me so much.  Deep down inside they may still harbor a fear of me at the very same time.

These past couple of weeks have been a real trial.  Having to get up and go to work and come back home and do the same thing over and over again.  Never really seeing any blessings or miracles come from it.  At my job, I am a laughing stock and everybody makes fun of me.  They laugh at everything I do and everything that I say is a joke to them.  It makes me try harder and focus on my job even more.  I try to better than I did before each day just so I can secure my spot and get my hours.  I seem to get overtime a lot lately.  So that is testament to how the managers feel about my work.

I work the front register, the drive thru and both sides of the line.  I work hard at being a team player and help out everyone as much as I can.  So much to the point were they seem to take it for granted and get mad when I tell them no... which isn’t that often.

I remember a couple of weeks ago, a few days after my last drink, Trenece’s cousin was telling me that I should just stop doing stuff for her and let her fall by herself.  She said that I should just focus on working on me and not to trip off of spending time or doing stuff with her.  

I didn’t listen.

It was just a week later that I gave her the money to be able to rent the car that she now drives for Lyft.  I know that I wrote about this is a couple of posts ago... but I just want to recap just so you know where I am coming from at this present moment.

So.... I am listening to the song and I am trying to hold on to the little bit of faith that I do have.  I want to believe that we are still together but yet the evidence of the current situation seems to be saying otherwise.  We don’t speak. We don’t spend time with each other.  And supposed to be satisfied with the conversation that she had with me a couple of weeks ago telling me that she would be “out of the loop” for a while and not to get discouraged from me not talking to her or seeing her for a while until she gets her routine down pat.

I am trying to hold on because I know that if I do and we do start to see each other again.  That we will be back and better than before just because she is making her own money and I wouldn’t have to spend so much.  So I am trying to hold on the that belief because it is the only thing that I got right now.  A deep part of me wants to explore my options with other females.  Not only has Ashley been low-key pushing up on me (literally and figuratively).  This girl, Ebony, that used to be my old assistant back at the day care now works with us.  I used to have a real bad crush on her.  She is actually one of the reasons why I started to grow my hair out.  Truth is, I’ve been friend-zoned by her for a while.  Then on top of that, she really isn’t someone that I see myself in a relationship with.  Then it’s this girl named Leslie.  She used to work at Taco Bell when I first started working there.  Long story short... she left and now she is back.  Leslie is so nice and kind and sweet to me.  Every time I she sees me she gives me a big hug and squeezes me.  She makes me feel wanted.

That’s something that I have been missing with my relationship with Trenece.

She used to be all huggy and kissy in the beginning but then as the relationship got old.  She just stopped trying as much.  And it’s funny because she would do things around people or not do things and I would just think to myself... Would (so and so) do this to their man??  And often times the answer would be no.  I look at the interactions with other couples and notice the big differences between us.  Most of them are not good are our end.  Now these are some things that I would love to talk to Trenece about but because of the current situation and what I did a couple of weeks ago... I can’t bring myself up to having these conversations with her.

I tried to call her around 5:30 yesterday evening and she didn’t answer.  I am not sure if I told you but I ran into her sister the other day.  She drove me home and we talked a little bit.  She asked me if I spoke to Trenece and I was like... no.  Haven’t seen or spoke to her since the Hershey Park trip on Saturday. (Which is one of the things that I was talking about... her not taking me home that night.)  And then I tried to make up some excuses about it being summer and her having the kids.... But then her sister told me that she didn’t have the kids.  The younger ones were out of town and the older ones went to spend the week with their grandfather.  So I was just left to assume that she was using the time to work.  So, I was like ok whatever.  Let me just do me and get myself together.

Yet at the same time, even that is kind of difficult because the money that I gave her set me back a bit and now I am just waiting on this next check to even myself out.... but I am getting ahead of myself now...

So I go to work and grind it out for a couple of hours learning how to make breakfast (the food items).  After that, I take my break and go sit on the bench hoping to gather my thoughts and prepare to grind it out for the rest of my shift.  After about ten minutes in, Trenece calls me.  We talk for about 5 to 10 minutes catching up.  Then she starts making breakfast and a whole bunch of other stuff with the girls and pretty much has me on hold.  By this time I clocked in back to work and I have my ear piece in my ear just listening to them while I work.

After a while, she comes back on the phone and she telling me how she is barely breaking even just because “everyone” is beckoning for her time just because she has a car now.  And because of that, she can barely get time in to actually work.  And because she can’t work; she cannot make any real money.  So I’m basically five-stepping her and halfway paying attention to her.  I can tell by the sound of her voice and her inflection that she misses talking to me and that she had something else to say to me but she wanted to drop the girls off first at her friend’s house first.  She said that she would call me back to which she never did.

However,  that made me feel some type of way.  It’s like a bittersweet hope.  That call just solidified that we still have a relationship.  Yet at the same time, it also means that until she gets some sort of routine down then I will have to just be alone until she does.  I was really expecting a call from her.  I knew that she would get busy.  I mean just the simple fact that she picked up the phone and called me today and stayed on the phone with me that long was good enough for me.  I am still kind of sad... but now at least I have hope.  I don’t want to be with anybody but her.  Those other females I mentioned may tickle my fancy to some degree but I would never have nothing more than sex with them... and that is just something that I cannot do.  It reminds me of Ross & Rachel on Friends.  Right now I consider this a break and I really need to take the time to get myself together and find a spot for me to live.

With that being said, so the guys of the house had a meeting today while I was at work.  I thought that kind of odd being as though that we were all in the house yesterday... but whatever.  The truth is that we are behind again in out rent.  The water and the light bill is due and even though we got another guy to move in that’s just not gonna be enough.  So the dude, Andre, said he is moving out tomorrow because he tired of all the lies that these guys have been telling folks and have been low-key sabatoging the house and enabling us to fail month after month.  I mean.. hay.. at the end of the day, it’s gonna be them that is gonna have to owe Oxford House World Services... not us.  I could leave this house and be in the clear and never lose a night’s sleep about it after today.

I started back hitting the gym and just last week I got my tiki tattoo redone and I got a spider put on my hand.  I am thinking that these will be my last tatts ever but you never know.  I have about 12 in total now and I am satisfied with the way they all look.... however I might get a couple of them covered up.  I asked my tatt man if he could do it and he was like...idk.  And the more that I think about it... Where did I go wrong? A few months back, I backed out of a parking place and stopped, waiting for traffic behind me to resolve itself. While stopped, a large vehicle backed into my driver side door. We both re-parked. The other driver first tried to convince me there was no damage and we should both forget it but after I showed him the damage to my door (his car had almost no damage), we exchanged insurance and personal contact information in a friendly conversation. I reported the damage to my insurance carrier, a large national firm, obtained the required 2 estimates for repair and submitted it, as directed by my carrier and his, to his carrier, a large regional carrier. They informed me he had decided my car was not stopped and so I bore responsibility for his backing his car into me (!), and they therefore were refusing to pay me. My insurance carrier said it was up to me to provide proof my car wasn't moving, regardless of the fact his car backed into mine! I approached the repair firm, and they provided me with photos and offered testimony to state that my car was obviously stopped, based on the damage to the door. I called the individual and said with this information unless he paid the bill in full, I would take him to small claims court. He argued but produced a check for the full amount. A month later, my insurance carrier raised my rate based on this incident and a highway speeding ticket over a year ago. She had Uninsured Motorist Protection as part of her insurance policy. I suffered no damages to my vehicle or person. She suffered $1500 worth of vehicular damage. Her insurance company paid for her damages. I was backing out of a parking space and she came flying around the corner and messed up the entire passenger door of her car on my rear bumper. Like I said I received no damage to my vehicle since I was the one barely moving. She called the police immediately after this minor accident took place. I was not cited on the ticket I received for any accident, only for no insurance. The officer informed me verbally that the accident was my fault only because she had the right of way but that there was nothing they could do about it because of the no fault zone policy. Anyway, now her insurance company is coming after me to collect payment of the $1500 they paid for her damages. I have not agreed to pay this amount because it was a no fault zone and I don't feel I should pay for it. She should not have been going that fast in a busy parking lot with a car full of kids. Although the unofficial technicality states that I was at fault, legally no one was at fault. Her insurance company is also threatening to have my license suspended if I do not pay the amount specified. I did not think that they, as a private company, had the power to have that happen. We have been searching for affordable plans, but the only ones we have found that will cover pregnancy aren't accepted in New York state. For all the plans offered in NY that we've been able to find, none cover pregnancies in progress. Does not compute

If my life were a person right now, it would be asking me to hold its beer and “watch this!”

So I date a lot-- a whole heck of a lot more than I ever thought I would at thirtysomething-- and I’m routinely shocked at who I end up on dates with.  Most times, I make sure I’ve talked to these guys beforehand. Most times I try to build a rapport, make sure they aren’t crazy, see if we have a connection, etc before agreeing to a date.  BUT Then, there are other times, where I read some dumb dating article saying that people who online date ruin dating with talking too much before going out.  But again, those articles are dumb and this is why. 

Last night, I went out a date with a software programmer.  He originally had contacted me on POF a few months ago.  We had talked sporadically, but nothing was really sparking between us.  He had a master’s degree and a nice job.  His profile stated he wanted kids and had similar beliefs to mine. Maybe he wasn’t great looking, a little nerdy, but he was a software programmer after all. He did sound like a pretty good prospect, minus a spark.  His profile stated he was 44 years old  That’s not a deal-breaker, but he’s on the top end of my “date”able age range. So when he asked me out, without getting to know him, I thought, “Well, don’t be superficial, give him a chance.” So I replied “Sounds good, text me tonight” and gave him my number.

I never had actually talked to him on the phone and here I was agreeing to a date. So, It’s going to go great, right?  The evening came, and I get a phone call from Mr. Computer Programmer. I asked him to text me, but a phone call achieves the same thing. On the phone, he’s a little quirky, but no huge red flags. He mentions he’s been programming for 20 or 30 years, is an adjunct at the local universities and works for similar industries that I work for.  So we have something in common, that’s nice right? We plan our date for the next day.  I suggest coffee, he said he would want dinner.  I reluctantly agreed to a dinner date.

The next morning, I find out I have family coming into town and I’m going to have to reschedule the date.  I send a text to Mr. Computer Programmer telling him what was going on, and that I’d need to reschedule.  Text comes back “Error Invalid Number.” I’m thinking, “Weird, what number did he give me?”  So I call it, and get his voicemail.  So it’s a real number that doesn’t accept texts. In total confusion, it dawns on me-- OMG! Yes, OMG is right, it was a LANDLINE!  Who in the tech industry who is 44 years old doesn’t have a cell phone? It’s unthinkable really. Makes entirely no sense. I leave a message, asking if he doesn’t have a cell phone and stating what I originally tried to text him.

The next day I get a call from him.  I ask him about not having a cell phone.  He explains, he’s on a computer all day for work, he doesn’t want to carry one around with him too. I mean, I get that he’s overly saturated with tech, but I still don’t quite get how someone who is 44 yrs old could go though life without a cell phone. Ignoring all my red flags, I end up rescheduling our date.  Not my best moment.

I drive up to the restaurant promptly at 7:30pm. As I walk up, he’s waiting for me in front of the restaurant door.  He’s about 3 inches shorter than he said he was, and he was a lot more unattractive than his pictures (which weren’t great to start with.) But I scold myself and tell myself to not react and power thru. I mean, I shouldn’t be so superficial, right?  Something just seems off though, he’s so much different than his photos.  So I stick my hand out and say “Hello.” He bats my hand away and then hugs me with my arms pinned at my sides, and presses his lips against my neck. He smells like maybe he enjoys alcohol a lot and probably every night, it kind of permeates out of his skin.  I respond to the unwelcomed hug saying, “I didn’t want to hug you, I was just trying to shake your hand.” 

After he releases me from his most awkward one-sided hug, he compliments my physical appearance and asks if I’m ready to get a table.  I again think “power-thru,” “don’t be superficial” and so I respond, “Yes, sounds good!” 

After ordering our food, we talk a bit.  I’m trying to figure out why he looks so different.  His skin seems more weathered, his hair is much thinner (and uncombed), his wrinkles seem much more pronounced than in his pictures, and I think he had a goiter. He looks older than my two cousins who are 48, by a long shot. He looked older than my dad, to be honest.

He begins to tell me about himself, and I ask if he’s a native of the area.  He says that his is and then tells me about his parents.  His dad was in World War II and worked as a mechanic. Wait World War II? Um, not many 44 year old’s have parents who fought in WW2 in 2017. I said, “Wow, your Dad was in WW2? How old was he when you were born?  My grandfather was a young man when he was in WW2, and he was an older grandparent for my age.” He explains that his dad was an older parent. So I think, “Oh ok, that could make sense.”

After a while he mentions that he did his master’s thesis on microwave ovens at a local university. This wouldn’t be super groundbreaking technology in the late 90s, early 2000′s, so I’m scratching my head at why it would be allowed as a thesis topic. So I’m starting to wonder, how old is this guy?  So I ask, “How old are you again?” He replies, “I’m 44, didn’t your read my profile?”  I read it alright, but its becoming increasingly obvious, this guy was not 44 and now he’s lying about it.

I took 30 minutes to eat and finish my water.  He took an additional hour after I was done to finish his food.  At one point, he wiped his nose on a paper napkin from the table, and then shoved the napkin in his back pocket, like my 60 year old coworker does. Now, that I’m past trying to not be superficial and have discovered, he’s put up old pictures and is lying about his age by my deductions 12-16 or so years, I’m looking for a way to leave.

Clock hits 5 minutes to 9pm. I stand up, he’s still yet to sign his CC slip and is still working on his second beer-- I thank him for dinner, but state that I must go because it’s getting very late.  He stands up, and proceeds to hug me leading crotch first.  My body wished it could concave itself away from the heat he was bringing in that hug. I rushed to my car and pulled away as fast as I could. 

While at home, I’m thinking, “How old was that guy?” And then, my inner self was screaming “I can’t believe he thinks he can pass for 44!” So I take to the internet. I have his first name, his home phone number and I know a few places he’s lived from our conversation. Within 2 minutes, I find his full name and home address.  Boy, the internet is creepy. Using that, I was able to look up his voter registration, which listed him as age category 55-59.

Then, if I hadn’t proven hunch right with that, I was able to find his thesis on the local universities library catalog.  It was filed to the library in 1986.  So if he was 44 in 2017, that would make him 13 in 1986.  Now, this university is a very good university, but it doesn’t hold a record for youngest person in the US to receive a master’s degree, nor does Mr. Computer Programmer have the notoriety of that, Michael Kearney does. I find a few more things on the internet, and I’m certain he’s 56-59, looking about 63.

I don’t know if its the recreational daily drinking my nose picked up on, or if he thinks it 2001, but he was a fool for trying to pass as 44.  As someone who is supposedly tech savvy, I’m surprised he even tried to lie about something so easily verifiable in today’s age. Really the blame is partially on me, why on earth did I ever say, “Yes,” to a date with someone a barely knew.  I now can’t claim, that I’ve never dated someone my parent’s age.  Life: 1 - Me: 0

Lessons learned: Red flags are important, I’m more perceptive than I realize and don’t read stupid dating articles with bad advice. 

So on to the next dating adventure.
