During a Discord discussion on TMNT fanfiction regarding Michelangelo and deep diving into his psychology:

Me:

"What if Mikey did take something seriously and they didn't believe him?"

Friend:

"So i feel like it depends on which version that of Mikey that we're talking about. I will say beforehand that I don't know the 87 version that well so I'm just gonna be talking about the 03, 12 and Rise versions. For all of the Mikeys I feel like their reaction would depend on the severity of the situation.

For 03 Mikey, I feel like if his brothers dismissed his concerns/feelings about something, like in the Turtle Titan episode, and it was something Mikey felt he couls solve on his own without too much danger to himself or others then he absolutely would go off on his own, figure out whats going on, kick but, and never let his brothers live it down.

But if it's over something serious like what you mentioned earlier, if Mikey felt guilt over killing an alternative version of Splinter. Of his brothers brushed off something like that, or tried to invalidate that experience. I feel like he would he would lose his trust in his brothers. Because he doesn't let himself get vulnerable like that. So if he was honest and serious in a way that's typically out of character for him and his brothers dismiss it. He absolutely would lose his trust in his brothers, at least for emotional stuff, and fall back into the role of "the funny, childish one"

For the 12 Mikey, a lot of his ideas and concerns are already discounted, like in Shellacne or Parasitica. So I feel like he would either, be persistent and make them listen or he would handle the issue on his own.

If it were over something more serious I feel like he would finally snap and go off on his brothers. He would feel guilty afterwards, but we've seen in the Journey into Mikeys Mind that anger is his largest facet of his personality. He just keeps most of it bottled up. So if his brothers put themselves in a dangerous situation because they didn't take Mikey seriously I think he would finally snap.

I don't feel like Rise Mikey would have that same issue. Yes his brothers can underestimate him, like when Mikey goes on his first solo mission. But that typically comes from a place of concern rather than not taking him seriously. If Mikey suspected that was the reason he would have Dr. Delicate Touch on their asses without a second thought. That's not to say that Rise Mikey has it "better" than the others. It's just that his role isn't to be "the childish one" Everyone in his family has their childish moments, it not solely his responsibility to bring levity. (That's more Leo's thing in this version) So instead we get to see a Mikey who is just as creative and artistic and is still able to play the youngest sibling card like a pro, without having to deal with the fallout of being the happy one all the time."

And if you ever want to just experiment with different plots and psychological horrors, I have… literally hundreds of ideas I can think of for the bay world that I would always love to play out. One is something similar to 2012’s ‘forest frogs’ plot during the farm season, but it includes a lot more trauma, mental manipulation, and being hunted. And there’s always an apocalypse plot or two we could throw in anywhere, like if they didn’t stop the sickness that took over New York. Or a ‘mutant menace’ type plot like in 2018, or an abduction and imprisonment plot like in the comic, or a hundred other ideas!
