Thoughts on the welcome home update because YES. Spoilers below the cut.

That sleep aid pill is called remderem which is almost "remember" but the d would be backwards, and its also almost "murder me" while missing the u. Is this anything? I don't know. Im always looking for names of things in args.

We have seen through two puppets eyes. First it was Wally and his discomfort and/or dissociation, and now it's Eddie's discomfort and/or dissociation. Which is fun because we've heard that Eddie would do crafts for the show and you'd just see his hands so that was a fun touch.

First iteration of the website we had mail letters (Eddie) giving us clues. Second iteration had bugs (Frank?) and active drawings (Wally?) giving us clues. Now we have symbols giving us clues and they remind me of stickers a little bit so possibly a connection to Sally? Who else would give the tiny pictures? Questions questions.

At the end of that commercial before his existential crisis, they say Eddie has been invited and they did his job for him so he could rest. Eddie does not seem happy about them doing his job for him instead of letting him do it himself. I am reminded of how clumsy with the mail he seems to be sometimes and how much work they make him do in the other audio clips. I wonder if he is feeling extremely overwhelmed but also unappreciated and that they can do all this work to help and choose not to most days? Sally insists it was easy to do and Eddie does not sound pleased.

One thing i can't stop thinking about and i have to go back and really re-watch the commercials closely, is Poppy. When they invite Eddie to the party they say everyone is there but there's no Poppy in the picture? And earlier they poured gravy on an ornament that, to me, looked very oddly shaped and almost like meat, and we hear Poppy, but we don't see her. So... a pea on a plate..... "P" on a plate? My brain could be misconstruing but did they eat Poppy and is that what he's actually seeing and is that why it's all red? I'd he seeing the reality beyond the mask? Is it more than a pea?

Eddie says "where?" In his crisis as a response to Frank calling his name. People are talking about this as if he doesn't know where he is. I agree this is a likely idea but what if he's asking where Poppy is? Do we ever actually see her in any of the videos or do we just hear her?

Wally has feelings a lot which is good to confirm he has feelings! Eddie also said he would be happy with an apple every single day and my he is an innocentbautism creature wally agenda is flourishing.

The amount if commercials has me fascinated because people used to do that for TV shows (still do but those earlier type ones welcome home is referencing is spot on) commercials for basically everything is accurate and what is funny is the accuracy of what each person is selling. Howdy with the cigarette commercial- he takes every opportunity to sell you something no matter what even if it's not good for you. Sleepy looking Wally selling you sleeping pills happy with the thought of the dream.

Wally being nervous about getting the holiday correct. Is it because he's never done it or ia Home going to hurt him?

Did home hurt Eddie because he was upset during the party? It sure fucking looks like it with home watching him so intensely. Does the chair have something to do with it?

Eddie's scribbled writing reminds me of the people trying to decipher the code on the safe.

On the secret pages it's signed "-W." But it talks as if it's a human person who watched the show and is working either the WHRP team. It also talks too grown up to be wally. Who is this?? Is it the same person from the terrified scribbles of the hidden page previously? It seems maybe so because of referencing needing the cleanup.

Fall of X (Steve/Tony Edition)

For anyone else who is a comics Steve/Tony fan who doesn't usually read X-Men comics and is now finding themselves needing to wade through the Fall of X, this is everything I have found that's out now (or coming out very soon) in the order you should read it, that pertains to Steve and/or Tony. This is accurate as of today (September 16); we are obviously not done with the event so this list will not stay accurate, but if you want to hop on now, this is how you'd do it.

(Iron Man #7 is not technically part of this but it does have some lead-up with a subplot involving Rhodey and Feilong. I am assuming you are all reading Iron Man anyway.)

I am also not a regular X-Men reader so it's possible that I've missed some stuff, but this is everything that has Steve and/or Tony or is directly relevant to them that I have found. So this isn't the entire event, but if you're just trying to get through Iron Man comics there are definitely some comics that you want to read.

I mention this because it might not be entirely obvious to anyone just trying to read through Iron Man that there are crucial events in the Free Comic Book Day issue that was released months ago. But there are. And I would like to save everyone else the trouble of getting halfway through Hellfire Gala and wondering why all of a sudden someone has been trying to assassinate Captain America off-panel and thinking that, wow, I really must have missed something somewhere. Which was the experience I had. So, yeah. That was actually depicted in the FCBD 2023 issue. Surprise!

(The most necessary part of the ordering, for our purposes, is Avengers/X-Men FCBD, Hellfire, and then Iron Man #8. There are several important events that we see from various points of view throughout these issues, which all take place on the same night, in that order. Iron Man #8 also assumes you have read Iron Man #182 but I feel like probably everyone has done this.)

Tony is on the main team (although the main Avengers book is not part of the Fall of X event); Steve is currently leading the Uncanny Avengers, which is part of the event. Both Steve and Tony actually appear together briefly in both X-Men #25 and Uncanny Avengers #1 as part of the meetings the remaining resistance is holding against Orchis. I don't know if Tony will be in this week's Uncanny Avengers #2. He wasn't in the preview and he isn't in the character list on the recap page, but that was also the case for both X-Men #25 and Uncanny Avengers #1. I think the character lists only cover the team members in this particular series.

I have reordered a couple of issues from the order they were released in. Uncanny Avengers #1 was released the week before Iron Man #9 but it has to happen in the opposite order. IM #9 takes place the night of the Gala and on into the next day; it picks up immediately after #8 and resolves the cliffhanger there. UA #1, even though it came out before this, takes place weeks after the Gala, as established in the issue. Judging by the preview, UA #2 will (at least partially) take place immediately after UA #1 but as it hasn't come out yet, I can't say for sure.

Similarly, since Iron Man #9 is right after #8, I've put X-Men #25 after that, since it also takes place weeks after the Gala, even though it came out before IM #9. I might end up moving Uncanny Avengers around some more later as well, but this works for now.

X-Men #26 is the X-Men half of the wedding issue along with Iron Man #10. The IM half isn't out yet, so we'll see what happens there.

so like the thing about the limbus descriptions, right. the ones for the promo material, the documents dante has or whatever. where it lists the particulars of each character.

theyre completely fucking inaccurate.

so lets take ishmael for example.

ishmael is described as "carrying out missions without much complaint" and "having sound judgement". one of these is true and its not the one about her not complaining lol.

however, there are times where her judgement isn't sound. like, at all. off the top of my head, i can think of her jumping to the most negative conclusions immediately several times, such as with sang yi, with heathcliff, with several other incidents...

this isnt to say she doesnt have sound judgement...but it is to say that the description isn't that accurate. and she's one of the ones i DO agree with the particular for! (i've seen people say she isn't ocd on here before, but personally relate way too much to her issues to agree.)

there's more examples of these, too!

outis is made to look suspicious from the start - and yeah sure she's fishy but i don't think she's nearly as traitorous as the description implies.

heathcliff is described as "simple-minded" and as having violent outbursts for no reason, when neither of these are true (i disagree with the perception that he doesnt have anger issues - you can have those and be self-aware/controlled lol)

yi sang's documentation lacks crucial information, as does everyone else's - and yes i'm aware it's promo material, but even promo material and removed content is important with project moon LMAOOOO never forget when they brought back several removed abnos for ruina

hong lu's is...complicated, because there's a chance that the writer just bought into his "stupid rich kid" act. but also not really accurate. not really sure where bachelor comes in but i assume we'll see that in his canto

basically all of the sinners - barring gregor who...doesn't really have much to explain about him to be fair - have inaccurate or missing info. and no, i don't mean "they didnt explain yi sangs backstory in depth", i mean they straight up did not mention his self-isolation when they DID mention similar maladaptive habits in other sinners (don, heathcliff, rodya, etc)

the fact that we are given inaccurate information from the start makes me wonder exactly what the goal here is. idk how this relates to the story. i need to connect dots. but here let me segue into my actual point:

people trust in these descriptions way, way, way too much.

sure, yes, on the surface it seems like they're accurate. but after canto i - even during canto i - it becomes glaringly obvious that they aren't. at all.

and yeah i know it's whatever but i'm really sick of seeing abusive heathcliff and "donqui is so stupid LOLLLL" takes everywhere. this is more aimed at twitter but yeah

IT IS VERY REAL TO ME LETS TALK ABOUT THIS !!! pls be aware im not the best with my music terms, im what you may call a poser or whatever.

during their hiatus when lister is struggling with everything thats happened to him, both in his childhood and with the band. he's given the typical advice from his therapist to write stuff down. at first he thinks it's dumb, but he gets himself a nice leather journal and starts writing anything that comes to mind. long winded rants about things he feels are unfair, talks of shows he's watched, comics he's read, games he's played, and also the odd few pages of lyrics he's written. he starts to really enjoy song writing, and with time he starts to hyper-fixate on his writing and begins composing different melodies along with it.

both rowan and jimmy here him working on it late at night sometimes. rowan is the one who starts telling him he has the skill to turn his work into an album, even if it's just for him and no one else.

drums are still his favourite, always will be, but he sharpens his guitar skills too. its good distraction for him when he needs something to do, as it's something new and not automatic for him. he really has to focus on what he's doing, which takes him away from his own thoughts for a while.

singing is the opposite, he sings when he needs to let himself feel everything in the moment; process it, let himself cry a bit. unlike the arks music, the words are harder to sing along to because it's all written from his own experience. with the lyrics he's written for the band, as much as he's in love with jimmy's voice, hearing the words that are supposed to represent himself from someone else's voice feels wrong, so everything he's written there has been more of a concept. these words are actually his own. it's probably the most accurate representation of his thought process. as he signs, the tone of his voice fluctuates a lot. he goes from softly spoken whispers to harsh words spilling through a clenched jaw.

he produces the entire thing himself. lyrics, voice, guitar, percussion. it's all his own work and he's rightfully proud of himself. and he should be because it sounds beautiful, even with the little imperfections throughout it. he still struggles with everything he's written about, it's not as if it magically fixed him. but it helped him lots, he really feels like he's doing good for himself. in a musical sense, i feel like it would sound like a mix of fires fading into black (holden laurence) and your city gave me asthma (wilbur soot). laurence makes me think of how he'd play, it's quite soft, makes me feel warm. but wilbur makes be think of how his voice might sound, you can really hear the raw emotion in each line. (like that one loosing face demo.) thematically, it would have an overall theme of the loneliness he has felt for years, emotionally isolated from everyone around him. the songs explore different parts of what he's struggled with. unrequited love, uncomfortable conversations, his addiction, pressure put onto him by everyone, his childhood, his assault, the river.

he doesn't publicise it for a long while, not sure if he wants so people to know about this part of him. when he does, he doesn't announce it anywhere, but the fans find it soon enough. a new youtube channel under his name with just one, 27 minuet long video, with a sweet note in the video description, little words of motivation for who ever cared enough to read it. people freak the fuck out, but he just lets them, for a while, it's funny to watch. first the freak out because 'omfg content theres content guys' the 'omg is he leaving the ark what the hell !!!!' but the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. what he doesn't expect though, it people wishing him well and hoping he's okay, as well as people going through similar things saying how comforting it is for someone they look up too let them know their not alone. its the first time he feels a slight connection to the strangers that form his fanbase, in a way, it makes him feel less alone too.

jimmy listens to it himself for the first time, he'd never asked much about it as he knew it was personal. it's the first time he cries over music in a long time. lister sings of things he'd never spoken of to either himself or rowan, while he had a vague idea of some of them, he never knew how much these things really do effect him. after staring at his ceiling for a while to recover, jimmy finds himself in listers room, hugging him tightly. he tells him that hes proud of him, not just for the album, but just for facing everything and still being with them.

I saw that something happened and i hope everything is okay, and gets better💗💗 I wanted to tell you my little idea I had based on something I saw but imagine a vampire chuuya x artist reader, the specific scene i imagined was chuuya frowning while looking into the mirror, being met with nothing, just his bedroom, not him, never him. He constantly would glance in mirrors or front facing cameras in attempt to see himself but always being disappointed and walking away to go sulk somewhere by himself. One day, reader notices him standing infront of his bedroom mirror, a common occurrence now, so they take it upon themselves to drag him away, placing him down on a chair in there art studio, that once was a spare bedroom that chuuya changed because "no one stays over anyways" and "you deserve your own space, doll", so after a few hours of him asking if it's almost done, trying to hide his eagerness with complaining the seats uncomfortable and the room is to cold, eventually the painting is done and they happily show him, at first chuuya doesn't react but then he smiles, slightly, very slightly that its almost unnoticed. "is that what I look like?". "I tried to make it as accurate as i could" to which he would question his own appearance, because what else could he do? "Is my hair really that color? My eyes surely arent two different colors, right? ..right?" each answer being met with a small laugh or gentle smile, nodding along and confirming his questions to be the truth, after his questions die down a bit and he would thank them, grabbing there hand and kissing there knuckles to which the reader would respind with "dont thank me, i would never give up an opportunity to draw another portrait of my muse". Chuuya, responding curiously, the smile a little more noticeable now. "another? is this not the first?" to which reader smiles and shakes there head, grabbing a notebook thats kept in perfect condition, showing him each page, the whole notebook dedicated just to him. "I know we can't exactly capture all those picture perfect moments in a picture, so i drew them instead..!"

so tldr, i have a particularly complicated relationship to.... relationships. i tend to label myself as broadly "aspec" as a whole as shorthand for expressing that i dont really experience attraction but it, like basically all the labels i use, isn't wholly accurate for my personal experience because labels--especially queer identity labels--are a broad stroke generalization for very individualized personal experiences of the same general gestures thing. not everyone who shares the labels i use for myself will agree with the way i use them or even the fact that i DO use them (hi, he/him bi lesbian here, eat me) and thats totally okay, as long as they mind their manners

i find "aspec" used as a specifically nonspecific umbrella micro label is convenient shorthand for the whole not really experiencing attraction thing because its more true than not. i really dont "really" experience attraction, either sexual or romantic..... except for when i do. those instances of attraction however are so incredibly rare that they're an exception, not the rule. i'm in my thirties and consider that tally to be two people i have legit thirsted after and possibly two??? people i am Romantically In Love With (as opposed to just In Love With, which is different for me, because i love all my friends in unique ways because they're unique people i have a unique relationship with, but i digress) (ftr i am not 100% sure on the romance bit because its *incredibly* hard for me to sus out the difference between my feelings for these particular people compared to everyone else i love because i just kinda go on vibes: if i'm happy with someone, i'm happy, and i dont really feel the need to Officially Label things)

btw, "aspec" as in asexual (and in my case aromantic) spectrum is very much a spectrum my dude, and that spectrum people generally report on does include occasional incidental attraction. other axis often involved in the spectrum are things like libido or even general willingness or interest in interactions that involve sex (or romance, or both!). some folks enjoy having sex and seek it out despite not experiencing sexual attraction, with or without a libido. some people are completely sex adverse when it comes to sexual situations involving themselves but will engage with sexual content, such as porn/erotica/virtual roleplay. some people want nothing do do with bumping uglies literally or figuratively. some people are absolutely baffled when it turns out no they just wanna bump uglies with this one particular person and they will DIE if they dont why are humans wired like this its SO INCONVENIENT (shhhhh dont ask me how i know). there are a ton of microlabels for any and all generalization of experience within the a-spec spectrum because there is just a HUGE variety of experiences but i personally dont like them for myself cos im a vague-as-possible kinda guy

so: complicated relationship with relationships and a complete disregard for the "rules" some people wanna insist on when it comes to identity labels. a buddy of mine has described me as her friend who is "all queer identities at once" which, yeah, i'm into that, its a good summation

i would also like to note for our viewers at home that you are totally allowed to stick yourself in whatever box feels right at the time, even if you change boxes a bazillion times or put a peet in a bunch of different boxes all at once, or play musical chairs with the boxes, or whatever. theyre made up and the points dont matter, what matters is having some facsimile of language to communicate an aspect of your experience to allow for communication and conversation about that experience, not that you tick off a check list of required traits to get your box assigned to you by The Committee. go forth, be weird, love freely, eat the rich, and fuck the (thought) police

Pt 1

U start as this guy in a room he doesn't recongize, with a door that goes no where. Walking up to the static filled TV changes the scene to somewhere outside in a city.

You encounter two Friends

One who says "you know you can't be out here like this", which goes along with my theory that the character Ranboo plays might be a former Showfall Media employee who went into hiding after learning too much.

And the other says "you have to be careful around here", which is a bit vaguer, might imply this is a generally shady part of town.

I think there's a chance these might be the characters Charlie and Sneeg play. Though, admittedly the only real proof of that is the fact one of them is wearing green and the other blue. And we know they're also somehow involved in The Show.

The next screen is the most intresting. You run into a stranger who tells you to go check out the dumpster after it makes a weird clinking sound

This character, unlike everyone else, has a red censor over his face instead of black. Which is probably relevant somehow.

Anyways, you move the dumpster, and this appears

Some kinda. Pulsing red blob. Maybe a portal? Maybe this is the infinity we've been told to look into?

Staring into it leads you to some sort of glitchy run down and red-hue'd version of the world. And each character says something in binary when talked to.

I kinda want to say this is what role each of them will play, but I'm not sure I'm convinced of that as I think the Stranger might actually be a Showfall Media guy. But we'll get back to that in a second.

Next, you go stand on that button, and the glitchy screen transition that has been there for each major scene change ends with the old TV 'click' animation. Followed by this text

"You don't know what this is..."

I believe this "you" is referring to the audience (aka, us :D) once more, and how they don't understand the full reality and consequences of The Show.

Now. I think the normal half of the city part might be a replay of whatever lead to His disappearance (His/He/Him being Ranboos character for future reference, because im still on the fence about him being The Hero)

As we start with two friends warning him, followed by a stranger leading him to something strange that seems to link him to another world, something which seems to align with some of the phrasing in the Keynote video, which talked about connecting to a new frontier and said "this world" instead of like, "our world" or "the world".

And this might be what led to Him truly going missing (if I was right about the missing posters from Showfall Media being to help catch Him, not find Him.)

Which is why I'm not sure if the titles for each character is accurate. Because a character that led Him to being taken to another world isn't a Savior in any typical context.

Along with if I'm right about the green-shirted friend who warns Him that it's not safe to be out here being Charlie's character, why would that character be The Villain.

Blue-shirt who could be Sneeg being The Taken makes sense though. As the pictures of him and Charlie appeared in the Keynote with the words "Found them!" On screen, which could mean they were. You know. Taken.

Though perhaps. Stranger might be a Savior... to Showfall Media, and green-shirted friend could be a Villain to them.

And also the reason I don't know if He/Ranboos character is the Hero, is because he's the one we see being chained and electrocuted or something in the video with the description "Help Him - H". H could possibly mean "Hero".

And also I'm fairly certain ooc Ranboos vaguely implied the protagonist we follow might not be him.

Okay that's all I got rn. If anyone else wants to chime in with their own ideas, go crazy.

Hi! What are your thoughts on the show domina?

Hello!

I apologize for being a little late to write this but I've recently been dubbing Peppa Pig in Latin so I've been a little busy.

How engaging it is: 9/10

Personally, my attention span is like 0. I really struggle to finish shows or books, so it's honestly extremely impressive that I managed to finish this show. I did get kind of bored at the last episode, but it's a miracle I only got bored at the last episode.

Character's appearances: 7/10

I absolutely love Domina's choice of actors. Everyone looks exactly like they look in my head. Apart from one person. Augustus! He doesn't look that bad in the later episodes; the only major thing I don't like is hair color. But in the first two episodes, I could not get over his hair. what is that haircut im gonna cry

I'm sorry, that is not Octavian.

I just don't know what happened. Like, they could've gotten any random blond twink off the streets to be Octavian and I would be happy. But they really had to make Octavian look like that, huh.

But I do have two things I like about the young Octavian. Number one, his actor is actually the right age for once. The actor is in his twenties, so he's actually around Octavian's age at the time. Which is an actual miracle. Movies always use much older actors for people like Octavian and Britannicus. Number two, he's much smaller than Agrippa! Eeeeeee! I give that detail the 100% historically accurate stamp!

Which leads me to Agrippa. HJKFDKJHFSKS I love the actors they got for Agrippa. Both young Agrippa and old Agrippa, they look perfect! Words can not describe how much I love Agrippa's physical appearance in Domina.

Meanwhile, for older Augustus, I can look at him and go "Huh, I understand that this is Augustus" but I don't like his appearance.

I like how everyone else looks. Tiberius is a little too hot to be Tiberius, ngl.

Dialogue: 8/10

A lot of people complain that all the characters use the f word all the time which is anachronistic because the word "fuck" was invented after ancient Rome or some other dumb reason like that. But the fact they are speaking in English is anachronistic! I'm sure if the ancient romans had that word they would've used it all the time. Anyway, my only problem with the entire thing is that they literally don't use any other swear word. Come on, if the ancient Romans had English, I'm sure they would be more diverse in their choice of swears.

Overall, not counting their overuse of fucks, I quite like the dialogue. I'm still thinking of this part:

[Context: Augustus is really sick and was "speaking" with the dead]

Augustus: I just saw my mother.

Livia: Your mother? How is she?

Augustus: Oh, you know. Dead.

Augustus and Agrippa: 4/10

They hug a few times, I guess. And they're cute together sometimes. And occasionally they just have a moment that reminds me that they're besties. But it's not enough for me. I know I'm sounding picky or critical but you'd understand if you watch it. I'd actually like to show you some statistics.

(by the way, i was an ABOSLUTELY AWFUL data collector. there is no guarantee that this is going to be 100% correct, but it's close enough)

In the Domina fandom of AO3, there are around 3 fics where Agrippa is shipped with Octavian and around 8 fics where he is shipped with someone else.

Meanwhile, in every fic with Agrippa, excluding ones in the Domina fandom, there are around 22 fics where Agrippa is shipped with Octavian and around 5 where he is shipped with someone else.

Something is clearly wrong here.

(I'll probably make another post about these statistics and in that post I will count better so I'll know for sure what the numbers are. But for now, these are the numbers I counted but you shouldn't put too much faith in them)

Historical Accuracy: ???? I forgot but I think it wasn't bad.

Well, of course, Domina is very Livia-centric, so I shouldn't expect many good Augustus and Agrippa moments. But that's pretty much what I signed up for. I would like some more Augustus and Agrippa. I'm not even close to finishing Masters of Rome, but I quite like how they were written in it (apart from the MILLION times Colleen just had to remind the audience that augustus and agrippa were Totally Not Gay. listen, i heard you the first time) So maybe the writers of Domina should've taken inspiration from there.

But I'm not really mad though. This is just a little personal thing that I would've liked to see. But Domina can do whatever it likes. And there *are* cute Augustus and Agrippa scenes in Domina. Just not many. It's fine.

I didn't watch for the historical accuracy, so I honestly forgot if there were any big issues or not. But, it's a drama, not a documentary, so I'm a lot more lax. I'm totally fine with them adding new characters and changing up events as long as they don't make a historical mistake that makes me cry (if the characters of domina went to the colosseum, i would honestly cry) It's a drama. As long as it isn't pretending to be factual, I'm fine with them taking artistic license. But if you were watching for the SHEER accuracy of EVERY event, you might not like it.

Family friendliness: 2/10.

It's not a bad thing that it got such a low number, but I'm just saying that you shouldn't watch Domina with your mom or your kids or something. I'm pretty sure only actual porn has more sex than Domina does. If you watched HBO Rome, you'd understand. And like, there's no warning. One scene is totally normal and the next scene is gay sex.

I think I should do math about this. How many sex scenes are in each episode of Domina? (and hbo rome if i got the time) And what's the average amount of sex scenes per episode? I'm guessing 7. Reblog with which number you're guessing! (guys if you actually reblog with which number you're guessing I will actually be forced to calculate it so make sure you do)

General prettiness: 10/10

The entire show is so beautiful. I could take any screenshot and make it my phone background or something.

Overall: 8/10

I managed to finish it, and I quite enjoyed it. I love how Agrippa looks. I love how beautiful every scene looks. Storytelling-wise, I'd say it was good. My main problem is Octavian's appearance. But it isn't really a big groundbreaking problem (okay actually young octavian is an earthshattering sin. the ghost of julius caesar himself will haunt you forever if you can look at him and go "this is fine") And I'd also like more Augustus and Agrippa scenes. But overall, I'd recommend this show.

the "though we meet up sometimes" confuses me because afaik he doesn't return to ikebukuro in the light novels and has pretty much cut off contact with everyone, so while he's clearly talking about emotional distance im not sure how he can't also be talking about physical distance :sob: isnt he in russia?? maybe i should actually read the light novels

on the other hand the "we meet up sometimes" could imply that this is NOT in fact post-ketsu which makes things like 10x more interesting because now it really fucking sounds like he's singing to shizuo

"Let's go somewhere where there's no one else around, when we get a break" is interesting because izaya is pretty frequently alone? like he's always in crowds and outside and stuff but he's never really being "observed" per say

maybe it refers to how shizaya's chase scenes are always outside and heavily reliant on ikebukuro's infrastructure, this being in the view of the general populace, and as such their relationship is pretty public knowledge and has a certain set of unchanging expectations regarding it

and it could be like. what if we met outside of ikebukuro, free from the expectations and rumors of our city? what would i say to you if no one was around to witness it?

god im absolutely coming at this with top-down processing because my shizaya goggles are permanently embedded into my skull im so sorry. like im trying to see things from like oh what if he's talking about namie or shinra or something but it just doesnt make as much sense!!!

"All of a sudden, though we meant to stay young, we've grown older too" could refer to how shizaya's whole chasing thing is kind of?? childish?? like they've been at this for 5 years or something, and it's like. that's not OLD but the way they kind of?? retain their youth around each other most of all despite having the longest history with each other is interesting

"We've recklessly ended up knowledgeable on nothing but gloomy stories" is kinda confusing because that mostly applies to Izaya and like. maybe Mikado but not really anyone else? esp not shizuo since he's kinda. clueless to everything that happens, or at least a lot less involved and only becomes involved when there's violence to be had

in reading the "dark conversations" translation i immediately thought of like. back alleys and shady deals and stuff so i thought it was referring to that, which is still an izaya thing im just not sure who he's referring to in the "we" - guess that one applies to all of ikebukuro because rumors and stuff

late disclaimer i have not watched durarara in 5 years i have no idea what im talking about

"We're so busy with our own things we sweat up a storm" is pretty self explanatory; izaya's always busy ruining people's lives, shizuo's always busy dealing with the annoying shit izaya throws at him (not literally) and sometimes russian assassins and mafia lolis

"What wonderful days! Power overflows" definitely fits main story izaya more than post-ketsu, since he very much enjoys his power over ikebukuro and ruining people's lives, although you could interpret it in kind of a sarcastic way, esp since the song isnt exactly happy overall

the "...and i live having thrown everything away" is likely referring to emotional attachments/the concept of a "normal life", standard pathetic izaya stuff

"You will forget me, so when that happens, I'll be able to come see you right away" takes on a vastly different meaning pre-ketsu because this makes it seem more like izaya's scared of being forgotten - despite living in shinjuku he always comes back to ikebukuro, refuses to let it forget him, definitely refuses to let shizuo forget him and keeps tugging the line of their connection because he knows shizuo will only pay attention to him when he sees izaya and normally won't go out of his way to shinjuku

makes me even sadder thinking about how he finally lets it go the end of ketsu :sob: he finally has to step back and let ikebukuro forget him/let his legacy lie, maybe become a living myth like celty in a way

if we were to force a main story interpretation i'd say nostalgia for his high school days, or maybe the days before he started getting involved with the mafia/information broker stuff and it was really just him and his sisters because he's a lonely ass bitch

you could say that he might've not had any true smiles since then? or he's never made anyone smile truly because they're usually either glaring at him or smirking or looking at him in fear/horror or something vaguely antagonistic

thinking about how Sage/Rosemary's plant motif and gardening connection started out as an aesthetic choice, but have actually grown into being very strong symbolism for how Rosemary is meant to represent life and being lively and being alive versus simply living

because Rosemary is meant to encompass the idea of being human and being alive. while Sage is like everyone else and is very much simply living, her general character being muted and soothing and just existing, Rosemary is designed almost as an exact foil for Wally. where Wally is unsure of expression and emotion and doesn't quite grasp it all, Rosemary is extremely emotive and lively, almost to an overly animated degree. BUT! Rosemary isn't just animated, like the other puppets are. she isn't just bouncy or excitable, or gets frustrated at simple problems. she has crises. she goes through human struggles, as a soul who once was human. she knows what death is, but is grasping to understand her own. she's unpredictable. she's happy and enjoying time with her friends one day, and unable to leave her house from the crushing weight of everything she's experienced the next. she puzzles through existentialism. she doesn't just feel happy or sad or upset, she gets depressed and anxious and lost. Wally can't predict her, he can't tell how she'll react (which I 100% think he can for the others. he's too observant not to, observation is his whole thing), he doesn't understand but he wants to.

and what makes all that even better is she doesn't just go through these things alone, she talks them through with the others. she shares it, she lets her emotions and experiences and overall livelihood overflow into the others. she's so full of life that she passes it on to characters who, frankly (hehe :3), shouldn't have been touched by it previously. and yet by sharing it, she doesn't hurt them more, but instead ends up helping all of them understand and reason through the -- honest to the puppet gods horrifying -- breakdown of a world that once was simple and happy and innocent and safe. they mature with her, and she somewhat unwittingly acts as their guide through that (WHICH. ANOTHER FOIL MOMENT. BECAUSE WALLY IS ROSIE'S GUIDE THROUGH THEIR WORLD AND THE TWO'S ABILITIES TO REACH OUT BEYOND IT).

and I've always loved having that idea brought up, about Rosemary being so lively. "You're so full of life" -- practically the most accurate way to describe Rosemary at any state of being (and, ironically, spoken by Wally, who again, I unwittingly ended up making Rosemary a sort of foil for). She is meant to symbolize life, she and Sage are meant to be this sort of "living vs. alive" thing, where neither is bad but its obvious how different they are! and I just! the idea of Sage, a character essentially set to be a sort of vessel for this human who brings this idea of truly being alive to these guys who desperately need it in a time where just living isn't enough to brave whatever horrors are coming for them now, also bringing things to life as her job and aesthetic is just!! augh, it's such nice symbolism and even a nice lil taste of foreshadowing maybe?? and I love it so much!!

and like! genuinely this all kicked of subconsciously and I didn't start connecting it until I thought about trying to maybe change Sage/Rosemary's motif (which, tbh, I started thinking about because I've designed her Reboot AU version (who I'll be sharing soon ;3 wanna get a good collection of doodles to share with you guys before doing so), who instead has a fashion aesthetic instead of plants. I'm not sure why yet other than I like it and I've been influenced by the dress making videos I keep seeing lol)! and I realized that I genuinely can't because it's not just aesthetic anymore! it's ✨symbolism✨!!

crikeymikey123: extremely gay, silly, lots of lore; in season 2 his videos were edited to be pretty slow (in a good way) but this season might be slightly different bc he has time constraints on his episodes now. If you want to watch S2, he's probably your best bet unless you like how Dionysus' vods sound; for S3 he's a pretty safe choice (/pos). Also has custom-made music by Screebert in his videos

wanderinglostbreeze (aka Dionysus): funniest mfer alive, will break your heart with its character's relationships, Looney Tunes incarnate; it streams AOS every week and posts the vods to Youtube. I haven't watched rot's S2 so idk what kinda vibe their streams have tbh, but trust me when I say rot is Insane /pos

Also my character is statistically the most hated mfer by other characters, so you get to see an absolute bastard /silly

Geck at Games: I'm gonna be honest, I know literally nothing about Geck's AOS videos (since again, can't watch them), but they're a super cool person and his character is one of the Main Characters this season imo so she has got to be a good perspective :P Also edits videos to be pretty slow, from what I've gathered from their videos that I can watch (side note check out Caduceus SMP Geck's first video on it is really good)

That's pretty much everyone I can offer any sort of opinion on their episodes, since I have literally no idea about anyone else's perspectives. Caldega's episodes look good from the thumbnails but I can't speak to what style of videos they are :P I really hope this helps!

i think in general the anticipation does a lot to fuel the derangement, but at the same time there’s just no other series (well, except vice versa of course) that fills me with such an all-consuming need to share thoughts opinions and screaming sessions with people and i honestly can’t tell if that’s because of the jimmysea effect or the plot itself or a mix of both or something else entirely (it’s crack. they put crack in this show that’s the only explanation)

as for your question, im not sure how accurate these will actually end up to be because our main perception of the characters comes from the mock trailer and we don’t know how things changed along the way, but still. im rambling sorry ;;;;;;

so anyway, in my head mork is someone who has a lot of self doubts and over thinks too much but doesn't want to show just how much he's struggling. he's a bit flirty and sarcastic and hardworking and kind and levelheaded and very charming in a sort of quiet and mature kind of way, but when it comes down to it he actually lacks self confidence. there's no risk he takes without calculating his losses first and part of it is because of how he grew up and how society taught him to perceive himself, but part of it is just who he is: he doesn't believe he is enough and sometimes that means that to protect himself from disappointment and heartbreak he'd rather not try at all

i feel like day, on the other hand, is someone who is very instinctual and doesn't really do half measures. if he's happy, he's euphoric. if he's angry, he rages. if he's sad, he shuts himself off completely. if he wants something, he's gonna give it his all until he achieves it. this makes him very stubborn and a bit..narrow-minded maybe? as in he goes down his own path with very little thought about the consequences not just for himself but for other people as well. however that's also what makes him incredibly charismatic: he's magnetic and inspiring and people flock to him because he almost seems larger than life with how brightly he shines

Sigh, why do keep saying I finished with the Negation ideas when I keep coming up with more? Just gonna send them wherever I got them or remenber them since I forgot about these ones:

Unpermanent: Any sort of physical change the user do their surroundings will be reversed to it's previous state the moment they aren't touching it. Things they broken will be repaired, things they moved will come back to their place and even lethal wounds will instantly heal. (This is not based off Kumagawa All Fiction, I thought of it before reading medaka).

Unreliable: Any and all statements say by the user will be accepted by everyone who hear them as false, no matter all the evidence of the contrary.

Unblunt: The user can make anything turn incredibly sharp even if it shouldn't be possible with the materials. (Kinda simple I know, but my creativity has limits).

Unreachable: Anyone who tries to approach the user will experience a spatial distortion that greatly increases the distance between them making it impossible to get closer even if the actual space doesn't seem to be changed. (I fell like I couldn't explain this one very well).

Undistorted: The user is not affected by any and all forms of disguising or hide the truth. They can hear the true under lies, see clearly through disguises and illusions and any ability that change ones perception of the world has no effect.

Unorganic: The user can turn parts of their body artificial like that of a robot or cyborg, once this done that part can't be changed back. With enough engineering knowledge, the artificial parts can be replicated if lost or even augmented.

Untamed: The user can make animals turn into stronger and more aggressive version of themselves, works better on domestic ones. Can work on people if the user think of humans as just more advanced animals.

Unforgivable: Damage caused to the user by someone else will be mirroed on their own bodies. The damage will be amplified based on how much the user likes their attacker.

Uncruelty: When the user sees an injury in another person, it will inmeadiatly heal and they will receive it in their own body. (Probably there is a better name for this one but couldn't think of it).

I don't think you're doing your mental health any favors by berating yourself every time you come up with a new batch. You may want to consider just sending them to me without context, I'll understand just fine I think

Unpermanent: I see the logic behind this one, negating what would be a permanent change to an object, but I'm not sure that's the best term to get across the idea of returning to a previous state. Perhaps Unalter to negate an alteration, like a retroactive Unchange. I also struggle a lot with negation words that normally start with "in" or "im", so I see the desire to use them, it just feels weird to me to actually do so

Unreliable: I've been trying to think of an idea for Unreliable for a while that makes objects, attacks, etc. fail in critical moments, sort of like an Unluck for non-living things (i.e. a gun misfires or jams at point blank range, a sword shatters, a car won't start, etc.) but I couldn't think of a scenario to use it in during my Negator Casting. When used for a person, though, I would think that Unreliable would imply more of a Cassandra Truth situation where the target is temporarily rendered "unreliable" to others, no matter how well-trusted they are or how obvious the truth they're telling is. For your idea, I would say Undoubt works more accurately, negating the feeling of doubt in others who hear the user lie

Unblunt: I like it, I just wish I could think of a better word for it. However, I've resorted to "Unsick" and other definitive not-words myself, so I'm not going to complain. It also brings to mind its counterpart, Unsharpen, which causes anything sharp to become dull

Unreachable: I think you explained it fine, it's a weaponized Zeno's Paradox, like the Green Baby in Jojo or Gojo's Limitless in JJK. Always a fan of that one, amazed I didn't think of it first

Undistorted: love it, it's super practical for pretty much any non-combat interaction. Sounds useless for combat at first, but when everyone else is caught in the dream eater and being shown their own horrid deaths at the hands of their loved ones or whatever personal hell they fear most, they'll WISH they had the ability to be sober no matter how much booze they down

Unorganic: another "in" example, I went with Unnatural for the same basic idea in my Dangan Ronpa post. On that note, I really don't think that was the best choice for Soda's Rule, but it was getting late and I really had nothing, so I went with that because he made the mini Nidai robot and really no other reason. Back on topic, I like it

Untamed: I used a self-targeting version of this for Yamato in one of my One Piece posts, but mostly in an attempt to find another way to turn a Zoan Devil Fruit into a Negator ability. Man, those did NOT make it easy on me: Unhuman, Untamed, Unevolved...I really don't think I could come up with any more that would allow the user to become animalistic

Unforgivable: I see the correlation between damage sharing and unforgiveness, it gives the impression of this being a vengeful ability, but I'm having some trouble seeing how it's negating forgiveness specifically. I guess in the sense that the attacker isn't getting away scot-free, negating the opportunity to be forgiven? It's a bit heady, perhaps Unsafe would get across the idea a bit better? Hurting the holder of Unsafe will always incur damage, so it's better not to attack them at all

Uncruelty: a reverse of your Unforgivable idea, huh? Not only that, but it's a healing technique with an explicit drawback, so it's a lot more interesting than just letting other characters get away with grievous wounds. I do think that kind of makes it not a true "Negation" though as the wounds aren't being erased, they're being transferred elsewhere, which isn't usually how Negator abilities work. Still, it's fun, I'd have fun seeing how such a Negator would work around and evolve this ability. I would shorten it to Uncruel personally, but it doesn't feel like it matters too much. Alternative, Unwound (as in removing wounds not like unwinding a cord), or reversing Unharm to be a healing technique instead of a defensive technique

Bruh same. I HATE those posts and have only seen like...one or two that im actually like "accurate" about but thats because they all basically said the same thing and thats "u want someone to love u." Because who doesn't.

I'm gonna give a soft "no" to this request because again, I don't like those types of posts and I am not here to psychoanalyze anyone but the characters in game (because they aren't real people with real feelings), but I will elaborate a bit on why these particular posts drive me bonkers. I'm going to be tagging these types of posts as "character analysis" just for ease of finding if you want to hear more of my psychological/philosophical ramblings about this otome game haha.

Sure. Maybe you do like Lucifer because you didn't have a great relationship with your dad. Or maybe you like Mammon because you were bullied a lot. But for everyone who engages in Obey Me, we all have tropes and characteristics of the characters we like and dislike for whatever reason.

If you choose not to read further into my analysis here, then the tldr is this: People aren't so one dimensional that the only reason they like/don't like a character in media is some sort of weird trauma-related inferiority complex.

For instance, here's what I like about Lucifer based on little snippets of the game where we don't see him being a dickhead: I like that his character genuinely changes from the start of season 1 to where we are now. And you can even tell which devilgrams were made in s1 and which ones were recent. I like that he has genuinely soft moments with Mc, and the romantic tropes he displays. For the rest, its mostly my own head cannons on him being soft, learning from mistakes, and acknowledging hurt caused. The reason I like him is he evolved, and is a cutesy romantic simp.

Does he remind me of my dad? Hell no. Not even close. That wasn't even my first thought in the game when he was shitty.

So why then, does the assumption run that this fictional man is symbolism for my so-called "daddy issues"? Is it because some people headcanon him as being into kinks related to domming? Maybe so, but thats not my headcanon.

So herein lies the issue of making blanket statements and psychoanalyzing people on like this, and sending judgement upon them based on their particular character preferences: Everyone engages with a character differently.

Not all people share my headcanons, and there's nothing wrong with that. I wont share everyone else's either. And that's fine. The glory of watered down characters like the boys in Obey Me! Is that you can project whatever you would like onto them! Its pretty neat! And can some of that come from a place of trauma and insecurity? Absolutely. But who are you to tell someone that liking Belphie despite the fact he kills Mc in the main plot means they're "a red flag?" Please. This shit is harmful in more ways than one.

Maybe that person had an imagined redemption arc for the character in their head? Or maybe they didn't. In short: who the fuck cares? Liking or not liking a character doesn't mean you endorse the terrible shit they do- again, especially in watered down media where fandoms are blatantly encouraged to make their own headcanons for how the story plays out in longevity, rather than the small snippets we are given. And that's something I've always appreciated about media like Obey Me!

Also, liking a "villain" doesn't make you a bad person. You can like the dynamics of that character, or maybe even sympathize with their motivations. For instance, appreciating the dynamics snd careful character construction of Riddler in The Batman is not saying "hey, I really like that Riddler killed a bunch of people in neo-nazi fashion." Again, people are more one dimensional than that.

So, in short, leave people like who they want. Everyone engages in media differently, especially within the Obey Me! Fandom. Telling people they have daddy issues just because they like a character is more or less a super Freudian thing to do- and we all know that dude was bonkers. The perceptions people have of something shape their experience, and we know this. If someone's engagement with a character isn't causing harm, leave them be.

Anyways, sorry for the long rant, but I like taking about this sort of thing. It really pulls out the philosopher in me. Any asks similar in nature to this are more than welcome, I could go on for hours about this stuff.

the juxtaposition of how two of the most important people in tae’s life treats him is so interesting. you have jimin, his best friend and literal proclaimed soulmate, be insecure and jealous, more concerned w keeping tae at his side and willing to hurt everyone (even tae) in the process. then you have oc, his girlfriend, encouraging him to maintain his bonds with other people, crying tears of enjoyment when she sees how happy he is with jimin, smiling when she sees him with jungkook. oc is truly a beautiful soul and just wants everyone happy. even you, jimin, you fucking fool.

now, even though i am pissed with jimin right now, i do understand why he is the way that he is. he literally has no one else but tae, while oc has an entire support system outside of tae. she has her friends hobi, jin, and emma, she has her own soulmate yoongi, she has (friend? lover?) jungkook. jimin has no one. meanwhile, tae is the same as oc in regards to a support system. i understand jimin feels threatened and doesn’t want to be alone, but is his loneliness really more important than tae’s happiness? he’s being extremely selfish right now.

But before anyone could react a gunshot could be heard as a high power dust round Flys threw the air and hitting Chronix in the head as it passes threw his forehead as everyone stares at him in shock

Chronix unmoving pops the bullet out of his head as the hole quickly closes and he stands and faces where the assassin is perched before charging the bullet in his fingers

Everyone stares at Chronix shocked before he smiles and begins to escort glynda and Cinder back to beacon

Chronix: come on girls lets head back to beacon so I can properly end the night with a bang [grabs both there asses] also your not gonna be feeling these in the morning

As Chronix leaves with the blushing pair of women everyone else can be seen still in the bushes watching what just accured with pure shock as Ren passes out
