Speaking as someone who enjoys lesser known games and series, I am a fan of the Power Instinct series myself. I think it's a series that perfectly knows what it wants to be and isn't trying to break the mild, just try its own silly little spin and run with it.

I remember someone once called it "the Monty Python of fighting games", and I think it describes it pretty well. Plus it has a lot of good music. Not many fighters have theme songs backed by singers, complete with lyrics.

PI is an incredibly underrated series that deserves to be respected.

As you mentioned, has a silly humor to set itself apart from the heavyweights. I personally really enjoyed PI2 and Matrimelee, especially Matrimelee. It's a legit fun game. I often watch footage of it on Fightcade.
