my job is reactivating and rehabilitating patients in post surgery care and one of the first things i tell them once they've tried to drink some juice and stand on their legs without throwing up is "every bite is a good bite" and i think that's a good sentiment for everyone

#i tell them “if you have to eat 5 panacottas and nothing else today then that's a win” and then i give them panacottas #actually it's not a win bc they need way more than that #5 panacottas and a few supplementary nutritional drinks and then we're all set #caramel flavoured chocolate pudding is also a good option #an option anyone outside a hospital would discourage to be the only thing you eat in a day. but we will nag and bug you until you eat 2 #ive seen a lot of people here on tumblr talk about the need for a neutral food view #that morals don't exist in food #and it's true #to become healthy after your body has kind of been under the greatest toll ever (stomach open wide) there is no such thing as bad food #pickapost #tho of course you will develop some health issues if you don't have a proper diet #like scurvy or kidney stones #that's no good #or blood fats that will lead to health issues later in life #but compared to malnutrition those are irrelevant #nutrition comes first otherwise you cannot live #and when it comes to nutrition every bite is a good bite

having a job and renting an apartment in the city center has thoroughly deradicalised me politically and dequeerified me personally and now i am merely an employee and a person going about my day and clocking in to work and sometimes i heat up a meal in the microwave and it isn't even a gay little meal. it's just a meal

#i remember back in the day. when i was a teenager and in high school and i had an abundance of queer friends #everyone was gay and a socialist and we went to meetings and to pride together and to some degree we were all chronically online and gay #those were truly the days #now i just have a job and i don't know anyone gay #and it is very difficult to be queer alone in your apartment #it is very difficult to be queer at your job #i am in my apartment and no one can see that i have a complicated relationship to gender and have dated women in the past #so then it doesn't really matter. out there in the real world. so then it doesn't really matter to me either #i am thoroughly dequeerified. and i mourn that #sighs #who am iiiiiiiii... besides an employee #pickapost

as someone who politically is more inclined to the socialist side of things, i know about the whole "lazy people don't exist, humans are not lazy" argument, and i would love for that to be the case, but the more people i train at work the harder it becomes to actually believe im sorry

#like there are some individuals out there. in society. and sometimes they get hired by my workplace #and then i have to train them. and so im the first to see them at work #and then after training i continue to see them at work #it's a minority #but some of them are genuinely lazy #like why are you not working. why are you sitting on your ass on the clock being all unhelpful when the rest of us are fighting demons #i trained this girl this week and first of all she was incompetent. second of all she did the bare minimum and then sat down #third of all she showed absolutely no interest in learning the work. i tried to teach her and she was just not having it #certainly when you are getting trained at your new job you'd want to learn it? so why did she not follow me around to learn #curious #for the point of the socialist utopia i would love if socialist theory was right about lazy people. but it's just not in line with reality #unfortunately #i canbot fathom being lazy however like does it not bore you. why don't you have any incentive to help people #frustrating #she was genuinely the worst trainee ive ever had the great pleasure of training #maybe she'll learn tho who knows. but her attitude was not good so i don't have high hopes #pickapost
