Genuinely, where are ML people congregating these days. None of the Discord servers I'm in are super active anymore and I barely see people in them posting about new episodes/specials and definitely not as they're airing. Where is the new episode camaraderie
There used to be so many active Discord servers and groups on Tumblr/Instagram who talked about where to find links for whatever was coming out and livestreamed episodes themselves and went crazy while watching them all together and I can't tell if this is something that has gone by the wayside fandom-wide or if I am a loser who just isn't invited to be part of these things

idk if you have a TikTok or if you keep up with the HP fandom over there; but apparently manacled by SenLinYu was posted on Amazon for purchase (not by the author). It’s since been removed but was up for more than a couple days. And there were individuals on TikTok that just didnt understand why others were getting so upset. Like let’s disregard the fact that someone other than the original author profiting off this work, but I actually saw people that were very firm in the belief that they could sell fanfic. Whether that be through book binds, cases like this, or commissions/Patreon. I’m an elder gen Z, and I remember coming into the fanfiction spaces pretty early on maybe like 07-08?? I think I was 9-10 reading HP fics on fanfiction.net and very vividly remember everyone being super specific about “this is not my sandbox, I’m just playing around” or “If you recognize anything, it doesn’t belong to me”. So I’m always surprised by people that really don’t see a problem with it. I’ve even seen people claim that it will either fall within the limits of fair use or that it would be a PR nightmare for someone to go after someone. I guess I was 1.) just wanting to rant about how shortsighted I think it was to someone that was around in fanfic space before 2015 and 2.) get thoughts from an author that I feel like has had several popular/successful fics in the fandom.
Yeah, I've got a TikTok. I never post anything, but I try to share anything people make that's nice about my old fics. I always have this half-assed feeling like I should make things but I don't. (https://www.tiktok.com/@colubrina_)
2. Congrats to Senlinyu on her book deal - very cool!
3. And yeah, I saw that people were doing that, and I wish I was surprised but I'm not. There's always been a not-insignificant part of the dramione fandom that sees the fics as 'belonging to the fandom.' They will post them on sites where the author doesn't want them. They will host PDFs online even when you directly ask them not to. They will rehost fics authors have taken down, orphaning them on AO3 so they can't be stopped. They don't see it as stealing because they see the fics as public property. It was probably just a matter of time before they started trying to host them on Amazon. It's frustrating for sure, but it does feel a bit like 'here we go again.' It certainly doesn't fall under fair use, and I think Manacled might be one of the very few fics that will have a legal department eager to keep it offline so the publisher can make their money from it, but other people will be less fortunate. Fic has become enough of a part of the ecosystem it's not at any kind of risk as an artform. But, yeah, it sucks. Be nice to your authors. Respect their wishes. Don't do this shit.

Any Way the River Flows
Alternatively: Help! I've Turned the Scum Villain into a Woman!
Shen Yuan survived the attempt on his life from the expired yogurt with divine intervention called his little sister. She was even kind enough not to make fun of his obsession with PIDW and introduce him to fandom while he recovered.
He does not survive the encounter with Truck-kun.
'System! System, what the fuck?!’ [User was assigned the most suitable host!]
In which Shen Yuan is trans and just as prone to overthinking as ever. There is truly no greater champion at 5D chess, especially against himself.
Preview:
Shen Yuan adjusts his mask as he steps off the bus, fitting it more firmly over his nose. It was a pleasant, if chilly, day and the warmth of his breath quickly steams up his glasses if he’s not careful. The sun was out after several days of cloud cover, leaving crisp blue skies he knew won’t last long, the weather report called for rain in the next few days.
There was worse weather to have to go out in.
He was returning home from a visit to his doctor. Finally recovering from a severe bout of food poisoning that had laid him out months ago. Too many long nights followed by putting off shopping until the last minute, and then getting distracted by a notification in his email.
Anger wars with shame as he remembers that forsaken ending and the resulting situation.
Deep breath in, out.
His doctors have been stressing the need to avoid getting worked up over small things. His sister would never let him live it down if he had another health crisis over that damn novel.
The only thing worse than how the novel ended was knowing his sister was the one to find him on the floor. Unconscious and apparently dying after ingesting expired yogurt of all things. If she hadn’t decided to check on him that day… if she had waited another week for their planned outing… He doesn’t like to think about what the scene would have been.
Shen Yuan will always be thankful for her intervention, but would have thought that she was too busy calling emergency services and the family to make note of his computer screen. He apparently wasn’t that lucky.
After berating him for his poor habits - his lack of food in the apartment, missing family dinners, not calling - she brought up exactly what web page happened to be in full view.
Proud Immortal Demon Way. Popular YY Stallion Novel. Incredibly long. Frequently updated. Absolute trash. The brand new final chapter that was only just released for the paid subscribers.
And the freshly posted comment by one Peerless Cucumber.
She was kind enough to lock his computer and turn off the monitor before the ambulance arrived.
Meimei had read the novel too. Well, at least part of it.
She had bailed shortly after the resolution of the Abyss plot line. When it moved into less cohesive storyline and plot territory and more into excuse for papapa scene territory.
That’s not to say she dropped the novel and left it all behind, never to think of it again.
No.
She was kind enough to introduce him to all the amazing sites where dissatisfied fans had taken on the task of exploring the story more thoroughly.
She introduced him to fanfiction. Condescendingly telling him he’d have nothing better to do during his time in the hospital bed. She was right.
Shen Yuan had, of course, known of fanfiction before. You can’t exist on the internet without having at least heard of it and he’s been to multiple conventions. Fan content is a cornerstone for many of them. He’d spent a good amount of money on unofficial merch.
He just hadn’t seen the point of exploring it before the absolute bomb of a conclusion. These were offshoots of the original, how different could it be?
The answer is very.
Despite familiar themes and characters, it was like a whole new world.
Every complaint he had as a reader, ones he felt were being shouted into the void, were obviously things that bothered others as well. Dropped plot points were explored in depth. Interesting wives that felt forgotten were given personality and purpose. Innumerable objects of ancient power were given history and context.
So many delved into the possible political landscapes surrounding the world, how they evolved to where they were the protagonist tore through. Focused on the numerous background characters and villains and gave them motivations and lives that were less one dimensional. Gave those supporting them their own reasons in a world that didn’t just revolve around the protagonist.
Admittedly, his favorites were still ones focused on Lou Binghe. But they gave him more meaning than a revenge driven papapa machine.
There’s nothing like distance to gain perspective. The entire experience has felt like a gold mine in comparison to the original trash.
The community has been extremely welcoming too.
An unfortunate number of people he interacted with recognize his handle, one he really should have considered changing between platforms in retrospect. It’s one thing when it’s mostly anonymous criticism of terrible stallion novels, quite another when people he’s starting to respect are using it. He should have left it behind in middle school where it belonged, but he’d gotten used to it and so had others. It was branding. And at least not as blatant as Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky’s own dick pun.
The fan authors on the sites are always surprised at Peerless Cucumber’s lack of vitriol when commenting on works, pleasantly so in most cases. He’s been quick to point out that he’s not paying them for their content, so he can’t judge it as if he was and most of them far outstrip the original work in every way already. And those he actually hates? He can just not interact entirely.
He’s also joined a few forums and chat rooms dedicated to the more factual side. Ones focused on helping each other find the obscure pieces of information in the behemoth of original text or getting feedback on their interpretation of passages. Trying to find lost threads that tie together hundreds of chapters apart.
He’s starting to make a different name for himself there. One not tied to biting critique and scathing reviews, but someone to rely on for quick and accurate information on the beasts from text. He’s being tagged more and more often in posts looking for quick answers on traits and names of obscure beasts that might appear in different locations in the novel. He’s even updated the wiki.
It’s fun.
He feels like it’s been good for him. A new way to enjoy the world of Proud Immortal Demon Way without all the stress and rage that came with reading the original every time he realized another plot point was being ignored.
He’s even regularly talking to several others on a regular basis. In a few months, he’ll even be willing to tentatively call them friends.
Shen Yuan might have, might have, also begun compiling all his answers into a single document for easy access. He may have also started expanding on that information with links between other creatures and what they might be based on. Some blurbs of what could be first hand accounts in the style of journal entries.
If you want it, write it yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world and all that. The reception of the few entries he’d shared had been positive. Enough to make him want to keep going
There might also be a slowly growing assortment of artistic interpretations of what those creatures would look like.
Meimei is the only one that’s seen the drawings and she’s given her seal of approval. He’s not drawn since his burnout from school. It was good to know he hadn’t lost all his hard won skill. His mother can never be allowed to know. She’d been giving him sad eyes to pick up drawing back up for years. If she knew that all it took was a shitty novel…
He very carefully doesn’t think about the also growing assortment of figure studies as he’s reread the beginning text.
Well, she’d probably just be happy it happened at all.
Shen Yuan stops before the next crosswalk, red. He rubs some circulation back into hands before pulling out his phone to check his emails. He can’t get too engrossed, everyone else is on the other side of the street for once, so he can’t use people moving around him as a prompt. But he can at least check to see if he’s been tagged in anything recently. It’s good to start formulating a response ahead of time if he can, or at least know how much is waiting for him.
If he’s lucky, there might even be some updates to look forward to when he gets home. He follows more than a few that use his contributions.
His email hasn’t even finished loading when the screech of tires causes him to look up in alarm.
It’s a truck.
Swerving towards him.
‘I’m not even on the crosswalk, yet.”

The New Inn - Hob’s Safe Space for All
I had this thought ages ago with @novaracer but ended up further expanding upon this idea of Hob making the Inn a safe space for his students or anyone in need. *Please do NOT take credit for these ideas I have listed here or utilize them in a fic without consulting me* Do NOT copy claim, repost or translate my works to any other sites.
Tumblr media
I'm imagining Hob opening the New Inn after hours for students who need a place to stay for the night or a couple of weeks and he opens the Inns kitchen an hour early and cooks for the students lodged there...during finals week he has a pool table in the basement or something and a bar where the students can have a place to sleep and relax and I'm thinking Morpheus sees this and ends up helping and hanging around more, whether to keep Hob company or send comforting dreams those anxiously worrying about assignments and exams.
Sometimes if it gets really late, Morpheus will stay and tell stories down by the fire, and people are like "woah Hob’s boyfriend is so cool, knows how to tell a damn good story."
The heating goes out in the dorms?
Hob tells his students he has space in his Inn anytime it's required and doesn't charge them, only requirement is that they help clean the kitchen or buss tables in the evening if it's especially busy. Most the time there's leftover food so he stores it and builds up a food reserve for them to have on late night study breaks especially for finals week, but throughout the year it is a food pantry on a day to day basis. Hob wants to make sure everyone has a chance to eat and enjoy the prosperity of life.
Word spreads around university grounds quickly by word of mouth about Hob's Inn sometimes it hosts new student mixers but it's usually just a space where anyone is welcome to hang out and study. Sometimes the philosophy club can be found discussing their theories in the far corner. Literature and grad students and the like are sprawled in study circles some people cuddling their partners.
Other patrons sip their coffee, the regulars enjoying the liveliness and thrumming of life around them. It reminds them to slow down and enjoy each moment.
Morpheus ends up sauntering in throughout the week surprised to see so many students and how popular the Inn has gotten. He’s also taken aback when he finds his usual table reserved and cleaned off, cause yeah Hob cleans it ASAP (because he refuses to let anyone else do so) and has it ready for whenever his beloved drops by. Hob always insists on cleaning the table himself and if he catches a student trying to clean it he gently scolds them and has them cleaning in the kitchen for a few days in a row.
Usually when Morpheus visits, it’s when there’s an open mic night, for he likes listening to the stories the students have to tell through their poetry and song.
Morpheus loves it though when Hob’s eyes are brimming with tears, full of awe inspired joy, as his hand reaches for Morpheus’ under the table and he squeezes it gently in a rare sort of affection. Hob knows he’s done for when his gaze shifts into Morpheus’ eyes glistening with starlight and tosses him a small sort of smile, all the joy in the world overflowing and filling his heart, the very depths of his soul.
“Look at all of humanity you inspire, Morpheus.”
“I learned a good portion of it from you, Hob Gadling,” Morpheus whispers into the night, silently thankiing his sister for letting Hob live this long to experience the universe and him in all its joys and sorrows.

me, seeing if i can bait anyone into diving into BL fandom drama with me 😈
transcript (pdf) here
v interesting episode bringing together some really different perspectives! podcast hosts are australia-based academics who usually focus on china politics—i haven’t listened to any other episodes but they’re definitely on my to-do.
they also brought on an american(?) scholar of chinese history/ art history lecturer at HKU, who reads fanfiction and is interested in chinese tv dramas from the state censorship/regulation pov — and a(n asian?) BL (+ thorki, johnlock, etc) fanfic author 幻想症患者 (love the nick. means smth like ‘suffers from delusions’)
it’s no easy feat to be the lone fanfic writer in this discussion, to have to fairly represent the many aspects to these really complex issues, and there were a couple of rather - honestly not even fandom 101, more like fandom 100-level type questions you’d only get from people with no fandom experience.
on the whole though the hosting was good, you can tell the hosts did a lot of prep on the untamed show and the controversies re. the actor and his fans/his real-life fans fandom
though, on that note, i thought the discussion was a bit muddled between these different groups of ‘fan/fandom’. i have no doubt that everybody in the discussion was clear that these were separate things and which they were talking about at any point in time, just maybe didn’t have the language to signpost/ organize it more clearly, but i could’ve used more structure imo.
• • •
i especially appreciated huanxiang’s point about how (very grossly paraphrased) there is safety and protection and freedom in nicheness and obscurity and (less grossly paraphrased) drama draws unnecessary attention from outsiders who don’t understand fandom - particularly this bit:
I would be very, very careful to link [fandom trends and phenomena to anything (LGBTQ issues etc) in real life], not that it cannot be done. But please don't do that before like, before you have finished like 100, 200 BL novels or something like that with like a full understanding of the space
understanding before judgment! please! yes!
but also — while n=1 is just that, n=1, but i’d be lying if i said i didn’t giggle a little at the undertone of the cultural value(?) that attention, standing out, is a negative thing and viewed with this like default-aversion/suspicion. idk
that said, my main thought re. this hesitation wrt people who don't belong to this community and understand the norms of this community wasn’t so much kinks and fantasies and premier zhou/chairman mao RPF, but rather not showing celebrities rpf of themselves / creators fic of their characters. neither type of wank is great, obviously, and the two types do often go hand in hand, but i’d almost rather wank be brought into the community than leak out of it
• • •
another point alluded to (not really discussed) on the pod that might be new to western media fandomgoers/ my usual mutual circle is that the untamed netflix tv show originated as original fiction published on a site that hosts both OF and FF both pay- and free-to-read. there were fan translations and all, that were taken down after official translation rights were sold (there is a lot of wank & drama on this issue. a lot.)
a 2019 censorship crackdown on the site, unrelated to (predating) the untamed/xiao zhan controversy discussed on the pod
anyway, point being - the coexistence of the two camps — intended-for-commercialization amateur fiction, presumably sanitized and lowest-common-denominator and all that, and niche not intended for wider popularity-type writing — is fascinating. good to know that they can stably coexist in some form, given how much concern there often is re. commercialization of fanworks that the former will outcompete the latter!
• • •
BY FAR THE BEST TAKE - MY FAVE part of the podcast - was dr angie baecker’s response to the question is BL (response is also applicable to slash fic) subversive?
BL is and can be an extremely subversive space. But I also think BL can replicate a lot of structures that are not subversive. I also want to draw attention to the fact that many people in the LGBTQ community, some enjoy BL, some read it, some don't, some hate it.
when you have largely straight women writing romances about gay couples without having much access to knowledge about what those relationships are like, I think that there is [huge potential] for misunderstandings about queer identities and the LGBT community
It can be really freeing to see [to see the range of different types of M/M relationships], to explore not just homosexuality, but also homosociality
But at the same time, when you have such an emphasis on the male relationships, like everyone in the Untamed is a gay man or in an M/M relationship, that often comes at the cost of erasing a lot of female characters. And so you have this drama that may have started in some ways from the lack of agency given to female characters, but then it replicates a lot of the erasure of women as centres of agency within stories, too. So, I think it can be subversive, yes. And it could be very unsubversive, actually.
definitely some food for thought there. obligatory (and i do mean it!!) preface that fandom is not meaningful activism, does not have to be, you are not a bad person for not engaging with it — but i do wonder… in my view, there’s an element of - ‘with how oppressive the power structures of mainstream media, wider society, etc can be… why not take the opportunity to push back against them a little, here in this space where we can?’
• • •
also had a laugh at dr baecker’s unfortunately prescient prediction, their hesitation, that while I feel like right now we're really on the cusp of a rising trend in terms of seeing BL represented in pop culture - we're only going to see more and more of it -
I am a little worried that there might be some kind of like a foreclosing of this space because there's always this kind of Icarus phenomenon of when something gets too popular, right, it gets clipped back a little bit. So, I do worry about that.
😬 hahaha. that aged well.
• • •
misc pieces of fun fandom drama:
whether character name tags should include diacritics/tone marks! on the side of no: convenience - up until recently, tone marks wouldn’t autocomplete correctly. and for all the incorrectness, it’s not (any more) ambiguous. on the yes side: tone marks are objectively (more) correct. does their omission amount to racism?
it seems like (some sections of?) chinese webnovel fandom apparently have the fandom culture of not messing with the creator’s stated preferences — not just canon ships, but sexual preferences (topping and bottoming). fascinating!! fandom etiquette 👀

OPEN EVENT #005 — personality tests
Word Count: 658 words (not including blockquoted information) Points Earned: +1 ACTING, +1 HOSTING/MCING, +1 PERFORMING, +1 VARIETY, +4 KOREAN
Hiroto has never been interested in taking personality tests. He likes to think he is and tries to be self-aware, and any flaws will be apparent to him so he can try to improve. Plus, he always thought focusing so much on yourself to be a bit... egotistical? Maybe that's not the right word. His English isn't the best, you know.
mbti;
First, Hiroto took the MBTI test. This test he knew quite a bit about due to its popularity among idols. Having never taken it before, he was eager to find out his type. The results were that Hiro is an ISFP.
The introversion, the letter I, didn't surprise him. He would prefer to be alone and keep to himself if he has been mildly social for too long, and he definitely has to recharge by himself until his social energy is replenished. It's difficult to find that alone time, so he uses the studio at night to be sure he won't be interrupted — although, so he's learned, people do tend to interrupt: the insomniacs and night owls that thrive with him after practice once everybody has left, typically when it is quiet, usually far into midnight or later.
The second letter, S (meaning observant), was incredibly obvious to him. Hiro always lives in the moment, and his impulsivity can get him into trouble. He's impatient and acts quickly instead of analyzing his options. At least you can always tell his reactions are genuine.
The feeling (F) result surprised Hiro. He wants desperately to be smart, and he likes to think he's analytical (especially about poetry, music, and art), but realistically, he's kind of simple-minded. He says whatever comes to mind without much thought and really relies on his emotions to make decisions.
Finally, P, or prospecting, was by far the most expected result. Again, he is impulsive and very good at coming up with things on the spot. This is why Hiro is a much better freestyler, both with his rapping and dancing.
enneagram;
Hiroto took the enneagram test knowing zero information about it, so he was sure his biases about himself weren't going to influence his answers on the questionnaire. He ultimately got Type 7 - The Enthusiast. From the Enneagram Institute website, the traits he read about were:
extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Playful, high-spirited, and practical, they can also misapply their many talents, becoming over-extended, scattered, and undisciplined.
This seemed completely off base from Hiro's personality. On the contrary, he is introverted, notably realistic if not a bit cynical, and definitely disciplined. Why did he get this result? Moving on to the Truity website, he read that Type 7s are:
defined by their desire to experience everything life has to offer while avoiding pain and boredom. They appear to others to be lively, fun-loving and hedonistic.
Now, that is more like it. That is truly his passion in life (other than the more specific: music), pursuing excitement and avoiding boredom. It's the Sagittarius in him. He's adventurous and always down to try new things, so on the second site at least, this seems to be true.
daemon;
Hiro also knew nothing about what a daemon was going into this, but he got the Mustelid, which he also had never heard of before, but apparently it's a type of weasel. According to this quiz, Mustelids are:
sneaky and inquisitive people who don't take no for an answer when there's something they want. They aren't afraid of breaking rules to get to where they want and are naturally subtle and cheeky individuals.
To some degree, this holds true for Hiro. He is inquisitive, but he wouldn't consider himself sneaky unless he was sneaking off to the studio to be alone. However, he's not exactly a rule-breaker, but he is certainly subtle. Though not knowing much about what a Mustelid meant, Hiro accepts this result happily and will continue to work on his weasel impression.
overview;
Hiroto, despite his proclaimed great self-awareness, was a bit surprised and enlightened about his results during this event. He was definitely eager to update his profile on the trainees' site to show the fans what he is about and hopefully they will anticipate more content from him in the future!

Interesting reading about the beginning of Occupy Wall Street. Ironically on /pol/.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coping anon's bc got tired of screenshoting:
When it first started out there were only about a dozen of us hanging out in a park in downtown. We had some tents, we made some signs protesting the banks, but mostly we just sat around and talked about our ideas for governance. Honestly those first few weeks where it was just a handful of us young idealists were really cool.
Then things started escalating.
Counter protesters happened a bit, people driving by and yelling slanderously at us but not being brave enough to stop and have a discussion or anything.
Then one day I was hanging out on my lunch break at work holding up a sign and one of my friends came up and told me that that night the cops were planning on coming out in force to bust us up. I didn't believe him, we'd heard rumors about it before but it didn't sound serious. He said this time the ACLU was getting involved and was sending a rep over to talk to us about everything to get us ready for the cops coming, which I should have taken more seriously but I still thought it was just people talking big because things got really heated in New York at that time.
But then the cops DID come that night, and they maced all my friends. I'll be perfectly honest, when they were talking about arresting people I stepped off and watched from the sidewalk and others took video with their phones but for some reason the word had gotten out that something was going down that night and there were SO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE THERE.
I couldn't understand that part, how we had gone from a couple of dozen of us in total hanging out to around 200 people there that particular night when the cops escalated.
They maced a bunch of people and arrested them. This caused an explosion of popularity and a whole host of other problems with it, especially once the ACLU got more involved with us.
When things started getting big in Wall Street in New York, a few of the more clever people got logically pointed towards as leaders in the movement, just college kids who happened to be charismatic.
They were immediately smeared so hard that as a tactic we decided to be a leaderless organization without a hierarchy. This wound up being a large part of our local chapter's downfall by itself--we had a leader we all deferred to we just didn't want the public to know about him.
Anyway after the macing incident from the cops things got way bigger. Suddenly we had dozens of people at the site night and day. And with them came a lawyer from the ACLU, I'll never forget it because that was the day I felt like I truly lost my voice entirely in this organization that I had quite frankly and literally been a large part of starting. This was because with all the new people coming in, and those of us veterans who had been around in the beginning trying to impose a culture on a population 20x your size proved to be virtually impossible immediately.
With the ACLU immediately a hierarchy formed because two other people showed up with them that assumed command roles. With all the new people we couldn't convince all the newbies that our actual leader was in fact our leader and had orchestrated the entire presence that was there at all, his voice disappeared too in what we thought was great at first, an explosion in popularity and what looked like funding and big support from the people.
Anyway the ACLU sent their lawyer and the two ugly people came with them at that time or that was largely when I recall they showed up, a man and a woman. Anyway I mentioned that a hierarchy formed, they seemed to have known the ACLU lawyer who came and gave his spiel and at the very least that was the beginning of their involvement with the group.
They stayed day and night. I lived in the area and worked in the area so I came during my free time but I still went home to sleep most nights, they came and immediately stayed day and night never leaving.
At first they seemed great, they were older than everyone else and they seemed to have a lot of experience with protests. They were good at getting everyone calmed down and listening to them and coming up with ideas for organization, like getting a bank account started and getting donations put into it and then deciding on a list of donations of things that should be brought up to reinforce the camp, this that and the other.

Hello. I don’t know you very well and I haven’t read 3 Tangerines but I wanted to comment this after reading that one anon’s comment. I think you making your story as a physical copy is a delightful idea. I’ve actually seen videos on TikTok of people acting turning their favorite fanfics into books because that story has a special place in their heart and gives them comfort. I know if I really adored a story, I would probably consider to have a book version of it. I understand that anon’s point of view. But at the end of the day, people get to choose what they want to spend their money on. And if someone wants to spend money on buying a copy of a story they enjoy while supporting an author they like, by all means💕
Oh gosh, thank you so much, love🫂💕 You’re so nice to come in and say this even if we haven’t spoken much. And yes! I have seen some things be printed (there’s even a popular tumblr post about someone turning their fave fanfic into a book before the site the fic was hosted on was taken down, and they said the original author was like, super honored and shocked or something??🥺)
I understand their view, too, which is why I was fine addressing it. They probably just didn’t know. I know I would absolutely buy physical copies of the fanfics close to my heart, too! Without a doubt. Some fanfics changed my life, and I dunno how long these sites will last, so of course I would love a copy.
Thank you again🥹 And if you read Three Tangerines at any point, have fun!

VPN for accessing porn in China
When it comes to accessing adult content in China, using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) can be a valuable tool. The Great Firewall of China restricts access to many websites, including adult content platforms. However, a VPN can help users bypass these restrictions by masking their IP address and encrypting their internet traffic.
Using a VPN for accessing porn in China can provide users with the privacy and anonymity they need to enjoy adult content safely. By connecting to a VPN server located outside of China, users can access blocked websites without being detected by Chinese authorities.
It is important to choose a reliable and secure VPN provider that offers strong encryption protocols and a no-logs policy to ensure your online activities remain private. Additionally, users should also be aware of any potential risks associated with using VPNs in China, as the government has been known to crackdown on VPN usage in the past.
Overall, using a VPN for accessing porn in China can be a practical solution for those looking to bypass internet censorship and enjoy adult content without restrictions. By taking the necessary precautions and choosing a trusted VPN provider, users can safely explore the online world of adult entertainment while maintaining their privacy and security.
Internet censorship in China
Internet censorship in China is a well-known phenomenon that has been a topic of debate and concern for many years. The Chinese government exerts strict control over online content and access to websites, social media platforms, and other digital information sources within the country.
The Great Firewall of China, also known as the Golden Shield project, is the most prominent tool used to filter and block content deemed undesirable by the government. This censorship mechanism controls the flow of information by blocking access to foreign websites such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, among others. Search engines within China are also heavily censored, with results often filtered to exclude sensitive or politically controversial information.
Individuals and organizations operating within China must adhere to strict regulations regarding online content. Any material that is deemed inappropriate or threatening to the state's interests can result in severe penalties, including fines, imprisonment, or even disappearance.
Despite the heavy censorship, many Chinese citizens have found ways to circumvent restrictions through the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) and other tools that allow them to access blocked websites and content. However, the government has taken steps to crack down on VPN usage in recent years, further restricting online freedoms for its citizens.
Internet censorship in China raises important questions about freedom of speech, access to information, and the balance between national security and individual liberties. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the debate surrounding online censorship in China is likely to persist, highlighting the complex challenges inherent in regulating the flow of information in the digital age.
Adult content restrictions in China
In China, adult content restrictions are stringent and strictly enforced by the government. The Chinese authorities maintain tight control over what content is permissible for public consumption, particularly when it comes to material of a sexual nature. This is primarily driven by cultural and ideological factors, as well as concerns about maintaining social order and morality.
The government employs a variety of mechanisms to restrict access to adult content. One of the main methods is through internet censorship, which involves blocking websites and online platforms that host or distribute adult material. Popular sites like Pornhub and XVideos are inaccessible within China's borders, and attempts to circumvent these restrictions are met with severe consequences.
Furthermore, the production and distribution of pornography are illegal in China, with strict penalties for those caught engaging in such activities. This includes not only individuals involved in the creation of adult content but also businesses and platforms that facilitate its dissemination.
The Chinese government also closely monitors and regulates the entertainment industry to ensure that films, television shows, and other forms of media adhere to strict moral guidelines. Scenes containing nudity or explicit sexual content are heavily censored or outright banned from public consumption.
Despite these restrictions, the demand for adult content remains significant in China, leading to the proliferation of underground markets and illicit channels for accessing such material. However, individuals caught engaging in the consumption or distribution of illegal adult content face severe legal repercussions, including fines, imprisonment, and even public shaming.
In conclusion, adult content restrictions in China are stringent and rigorously enforced by the government as part of broader efforts to maintain social stability and uphold traditional values. While there are avenues for accessing such material through illicit means, the risks associated with doing so are high, making it imperative for individuals to adhere to the country's strict regulations.
Virtual Private Network usage in China
Virtual Private Network (VPN) usage in China has seen a significant rise in recent years due to the country's strict internet censorship policies. With the Great Firewall of China blocking access to popular websites and online services, many internet users in the country turn to VPNs to bypass these restrictions and access the open internet.
VPNs work by encrypting the user's internet connection and routing it through a server located in a different location, thus masking the user's IP address and allowing them to access blocked content. In China, VPNs provide a crucial tool for accessing foreign news sites, social media platforms, and various other websites that are otherwise restricted.
However, the Chinese government has been cracking down on VPN usage in recent years, making it increasingly difficult for individuals to bypass the Great Firewall. In 2017, the government introduced regulations requiring VPN providers to obtain a government license to operate, leading to many VPN services being blocked or shut down.
Despite the challenges, many individuals in China continue to use VPNs to access unrestricted information and communicate securely online. While the legal landscape surrounding VPNs in China remains uncertain, the demand for these services is unlikely to diminish as internet users seek to maintain their online privacy and access a free and open internet.
Viewing pornographic content in China
In China, viewing pornographic content is strictly regulated and heavily restricted by the government. The Chinese government employs sophisticated technological measures to block access to pornographic websites and online content deemed inappropriate. This censorship is part of a broader effort to maintain social stability and uphold traditional values within the country.
The Great Firewall of China, a system of internet censorship and surveillance, plays a significant role in controlling access to pornographic material. Websites containing adult content are routinely blocked or filtered, making it difficult for individuals to access such content without the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) or other circumvention tools. However, the use of VPNs is also heavily regulated, and the government periodically cracks down on their usage.
Moreover, the dissemination of pornographic content is illegal in China, and individuals found producing, distributing, or consuming such material can face severe legal consequences, including fines, imprisonment, or even deportation for foreigners. Law enforcement agencies actively monitor online activities and conduct raids to apprehend individuals involved in the production or distribution of pornography.
Despite these strict regulations, there are still instances of individuals accessing and sharing pornographic content in China. However, the risks associated with doing so are significant, and many people choose to abide by the government's censorship policies to avoid legal repercussions.
In summary, viewing pornographic content in China is heavily restricted due to government censorship and regulations. While some individuals may attempt to circumvent these restrictions, the consequences of doing so can be severe, highlighting the importance of adhering to the country's laws and regulations regarding online content.

Final Project: Travel Vlog- Visiting Ancient Rome. Here is my itinerary:
The Coliseum
The Roman Forum
Pantheon
Trevi Fountain
Castel Sant'Angel
First Stop: The Coliseum
Tumblr media
The first place we will be time traveling back in time to visit is The Coliseum. I have seen many videos of Rome online and believe I fall in the anticipation and imagination category for visiting Rome my first time (Mayer, 2007, 86). I feel like I know what to expect, but I will probably be blown away when I see the Coliseum on this trip. The Coliseum is a large amphitheater in Rome that hosts various games, dramas, reenactments, and even public executions. Luckily for us, there is an event today! Enough talking, let’s make our way to The Coliseum. Upon arrival, I was taken back by the size of The Coliseum. The Coliseum takes up 6 arcs of land boasting 50 meters high and over 180 meters long. With the amphitheater capacity of over 50,000 people, it’s no surprise that it is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built. There also appeared to be a whole side of the arena broken off (Husher, 1890) . A local overheard me saying this and informed me that it was caused by an earthquake year ago. Everyone was welcome in The Coliseum as are equal and meant for all citizens of Rome. When I walked into the arena there was so much going on. Gladiators walked around with heavy armor and swords to Roman locals racing to get a good seat. It was very visually apparent that violence has taken place in this building. There were events daily at The Coliseum, so I assume it is hard to keep it clean. That explains the blood stains on the walls. Once we arrived in our seats the event started. The event taking place was men being thrown by lions. The crowd was divided with some disgusted and others entertained (Davis, 650). The time I was visiting was when a majority of Rome was becoming disgusted by the events. The event ended and we were happy about that. As I was walking out, I saw a staircase going downstairs and we snuck down there. I saw many animal cages including the lion they just saw in the show. The underground area of the arena was called the Hypogeum. The Hypogeum is where slaves and wild animals were stored and included tunnels that lead into and out of the Colosseum. That was enough violence for the day. Let's head to someplace else!
Second Stop: The Roman Forum
Tumblr media
Our second stop I will be visting The Roman Forum. On my way there I traveled on a road called the Sacra Via which connects to other famous Roman sites. The Roman Forum is home to the senate house, the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus, the Temple of Vesta, The Rostra, the Temple of Castor and Pollux, and The Sacra Via. The Roman Forum was originally a marketplace for day-to-day shopping but now has become much more versatile and functional, as public affairs are held in this area (Husher, 1890). Over time the forum gradually progressed as statues, arches, basilicas, and other buildings were constructed to accommodate the gatherings. One popular gathering was to honor Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was credited with transforming Rome from a republic to an empire but was later assigned. Some argue this transformation was both haphazard and long delayed (Eckstein, 2009, 26). The Roman Forum become very crowded with people after his assassination because his grave was placed there. I got the chance to walk over to the main building where his grave was buried. People had flowers placed all around. There was definitely a feeling of business in the air as many important people and politicians were walking around networking with each other. The roman forum was the mecca of business and political affairs in Rome. One thing that stood out to me was that I was only seeing men walking around the forum and that is because women are not allowed to be involved in the government. Unfortunately, that is how the woman were treated then. I continued down the stone pathways exploring the temples and markets (Husher, 1890). We even saw a current political trial taking place. A man was accused of stealing and was eventually sentenced to execution. Seems pretty harsh to me. As I continued walking I overheard an older lady telling a group of young Romans that there used to be gladiator matches here before the Colosseum was built. There is so much going on here! . Let's go check out another stop.
Third Stop: Pantheon
Tumblr media
The third stop was a short 6-minute bus ride and one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Rome. The Pantheon. Before The Pantheon, there was a building on the same site that was destructed and was seen as a sign that the gods were unhappy. Agrippa was the builder of the Pantheon and built it in honor of his and Augustus' military victory at the Battle of Actium in 31 B.C.E. It is believed that The Pantheon was damaged by fire around 80 C.E. and restored to some unknown extent under the orders of Emperor Domitian. After multiple fires, Rome was considered the capital of christianity and The Pantheon was eventually converted into a Christian church (Mazzoni, 2010, 16). Some also believed it served as a shelter for the cult statue Anthena Parthenos (Robertson, 1838). Enough talking, let’s check it out! The Pantheon is right in the middle of the city. It amazing to walk around Rome with all the buildings that have stood in the same place as our predecessors and successors (Lowrie, 2003, 62). Upon arriving, the architecture stands out. The dome was the largest built, measuring about 142 feet (43 meters) in diameter and rising to a height of 71 feet (22 meters) above its base. The Pantheon’s walls are made from brick-faced concrete and are an example of advanced Roman engineering and innovation that was widely used in Rome's major buildings and infrastructure. When I finally walked in, I felt the crushing weight of human history and was absorbed the beautiful art surrounding me . Then when I looked up I was amazed by the ceiling made of bronze. The eye of the Pantheon, or oculus is the most fascinating part of the Pantheon as it is present remains from the largest unsupported dome in the world. There were also multiple craftsman working around the building. The Pantheon offered employment to a large variety of craftsman and traders (Robertson, 1838). As I continued walking around, I saw other sculptures of Caesar Augustus (one of ancient Rome's most successful leaders), Marcus Agrippa (who provide Roman citizens from every social class access to the highest quality public services), Venus, and Mars. The Pantheon was definitely worth the stop. Let’s head somewhere else!
Fourth Stop: Trevi Fountain
Tumblr media
The fourth stop is another short bus ride and one of the oldest water sources in Rome. Trevi Fountain. The fountain is considered a late Baroque masterpiece and is arguably the best-known of the city’s numerous fountains. Trevi Fountain was designed by Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762. For more than a century this Trevi fountain offered the only supply of pure water in Rome (Cooke, 73). Other than supplying pure water to Rome, the Trevi Fountain has also been included in multiple famous movies called La Dolce Vita, Angels and Demons, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and Roman Holiday. Upon arriving at the Trevi Fountain you can instantly see the amount of time and detail it took to design this place. Starting with the seven perfectly sculpted statues in the front (Cooke, 101). Each statue is symbolic of a unique and interesting concept. The three main statues are named Oceanus, Abundance, and Health. Oceanus, the statue standing under the arch at the center of Trevi Fountain represents the moods of the sea, Abundance the statue to the left of the arch shows Agrippa instructing his men to construct the aqueduct, and Health the statue to the right of the arch illustrates a virgin lady informing soldiers about the source of the water (Cooke, 101). The water of the fountain is also extremely clear and clean. When walking around the fountain you feel like you’re poolside at a luxury resort. Even when looking at the fountain in ancient Roman times, you could tell why it was a popular location. For both the function of supplying water, and a beautiful attraction of history through statues. That is why thousands of tourists come to the fountain every year and follow a Roman tradition to throw a coin into the fountain over your left shoulder. Tradition says that one coin thrown will you back to Rome and three coins will ensure the wedding balls come. Let’s head to our next stop!
Fifth Stop: Castel Sant'Angelo
Tumblr media
For the last stop of the trip, I will be visiting a location called Castel Sant'Angelo. Castel Sant'Angelo has served many functions in its lifetime. Starting with originally built as the tomb of Roman Emperor Hadrian in 135 AD, then being converted into a military fortress that protected Rome during the Middle Ages, then a prison during the Renaissance era, and now, one of Rome’s many museums. The site is full of immense cultural value that houses many sculptures, architecture, frescoes, and more. Castel Sant'Angelo imemense cultural background helps give a different perspective on Rome as the evidence we have had on Roman culture often raises more questions than answers (Petersen, 2011, 5).   When walking over the famous Sant’Angelo Bridge to arrive at the Castel Sant'Angelo only entrance, you are greeted by ten beautiful angel sculptures designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (Deman and Boise, 1862-1937). When looking at the building from a distance you noticed the Michael the Archangel statue on top (Deman and Boise, 1862-1937). This bridge was not only an entrance but also used as a place to show the bodies of the executed to convey warning to the locals. When walking in you are greeted by the Courtyard of Honour where a statue of St Michael the Archangel and multiple other statues are on display. Also, when you look up you see the enormity of the Castel. The building is huge (Deman and Boise, 1862-1937). Continuing up to a spiral staircase that was designed to accommodate the funeral procession of Emperor Hadrian. This staircase climbs a total of 12 meters to all five levels. As you walk up the staircase there are more statues off to the side on each floor and you can only see because the airholes built-in provide natural lighting for the staircase. If you continue all the way up you meet a passage leading upwards to Castel Sant’Angelo’s interior where the remains of Emperor Hadrian are laid to rest. Lastly my favorite part of this stop. Angel’s Terrace. Angel’s Terrace offers 360-degree panoramic views of Rome. Perhaps the most impressive is the close-up aerial views of St Peter’s Basilica. That marks the end of my trip to Rome. Thank you for traveling back in time with me!

A lot of now fear, and some just can't wait going buy all new homes. However , not the whole thing can be bought in store. You will want the ideas. Perhaps the interior features you might probably get some sort of inheritance, and some judgements will be made by some - perhaps the original owners, but the space itself. Anything it is, but what you may will need to adapt to their particular needs. May not be in a position to replace the floor surfaces, walls, ceilings and stairs, but more than likely can provide that much back to you need to repaint and also move to another site. You may need to change that doors or even your windows program; you may need to build a extension, the installation of this cabinet, to build up the bathroom. Even if the project will be to teach you to start alone, do not be tired! If you know what final results you want to achieve, you might easily find as part of your neighborhood carpenter or even carpenter to make the necessary work for you. It all depends upon your choice, and possibility will be a lot: anyone in your decision to show something about anyone, your partner or a person's parents. Future prospective clients may seem a bit difficult, but you must be ready to them - not alone in their new house at the start-up, nonetheless always, even when copy your other internet sites or maybe transform prevailing home decor as your health circumstances, needs or simply income. Questions at all times arise, but you can even find the answers.
toca life world modern mansion
I recall many years ago, when ever arranged in a brand-new house, someone said: "Home is do not comfortable until the surface has a carpet. inches And in a sense it was subsequently true. Flooring melted sound and gives all the islands completeness of feelings, even when the room is located only a few floor coverings and sofa blankets. And, of course, a product special has a cutting edge carpet smell -- it is just as concerned with the new car stink. However , the last 20 years, the mats in the entire floor, advanced home has displaced popularity. Imagine any kind of modern restaurant, of which recently have been: it truly is unlikely you will see floor coverings. First became widely used in coarse linens surfaces: they are an unique and neatly, by using ethnic motifs, however , difficult to clean and additionally uncomfortable for naked feet. They speedily became unfashionable the moment difficult to clean in addition to designers began to work with hard flooring: fire wood panels, stone along with marble. Now a diverse selection of wood and wood imitation surfaces is available and some citizens are trying to get the outdated floor boards out of used material storage area areas and build sites. At the same time had become more and more popular piece of rock, bricks, tiles and perhaps the smooth gravel. The floor fits beautifully into bathrooms and also rooms with warm floors. But at present, everything changes once again. Return to color, and turn into popular in massive, colorful "designer" floor covering with colorful, present-day painting, reminiscent of the bottom lay a portrait.
We all know that when travelling to move to another host to residence or getting a new property, much of our decision may have an effect on the most unusual material. An interesting window, perfectly or unusually wonderful ceiling moldings or even doors are sometimes issued to the specificity from place and helps it be more attractive - and when you are going to be a a number of rip and grab down for far more space, try not to get shot of them home features, which at first drawn to you to this spot. If the door can be too small, you might consider replacing all of them with a folding, slippage, or even glazed. Advanced front door traditional fakeness can provide a variable effect. Intriguing will be the unexpected places upward windows, uncommon model of frames or pieces of furniture. A special attraction definitely will always have unusual patterns such as round home windows, and colored or simply patterned panes. If your main house is not a very special window, should not sad. A small drive to help create a completely new window in the site where the most attractive additional lighting, and will eventually not be problematic to re-adjust your frame. If this still fails, watch out the window interior design: slat blinds, bead curtains, fine, ancient lace, or even picket blinds will be in a position for an original replacement of the standard curtains. Think about using frosted wineglass - it will offer an opportunity to distance by itself from the curious stares of strangers, basically without reducing a flow of brightness.

Piracy
Piracy is the criminal act of appropriating media without going through legal channels, for example, hosting and downloading unofficial recordings of a tv show.
Piracy is sometimes viewed as a major drain on creative expression. There is concern that it diverts funds away from artists and creators. While this is true, and the piracy of indie projects is morally heinous, at a certain level it has very little real economic impact. After all, unlike tangible forms of theft, copied data does not necessarily deprive the legal owner of their own data. An old anti-piracy ad campaign declaring 'you wouldn't download a car' is broadly mocked. It is true that most people would not commit Grand Theft Auto by stealing a real car. But a great many people would have no moral qualms about 'downloading a car.'
Internet piracy is often achieved by hosting and sharing links to upload/download media, by going to websites that explicitly host pirated media for online viewing, and by torrenting, a system where everyone who downloads the media has the option to locally host said media for others to use. Torrenting is a distributed storage system, so it is very resilient to takedowns. Piracy rarely takes place on the dark web or through onion sites, where legitimately criminal internet activity traditionally takes place (though pirated media is available there too). In the pre-internet days, bootlegged recordings of media distributed on physical discs and tapes served for piracy.
Practically speaking, piracy emerges in response to barriers of access. When media is unavailable legally, or when its availability is extremely curtailed in some way by high barriers to entry (price), or by excessive cost of time (advertisements), people fill the demand gaps by pursuing alternate sources. When Steam, a PC game store hub emerged, piracy rates for video games shot down drastically. When music streaming emerged, the rates for music piracy dropped. And when tv and movie streaming became normalized, the Pirate Bay and other media pirating sites dropped in relative usership.
If a pirate is thwarted, they are unlikely to purchase the media legally. But if the reason they turn to piracy is addressed, they are likely to purchase the media legally instead. It is an economic and social phenomena more than it is equivalent to theft.
As streaming sites get more expensive for lower quality, as it becomes inconvenient to watch all your shows on the same place because they are exclusively limited to competing services, as more of a person's time is taken up by constant, incessant ads (even for paid services), as media disappears from legal channels following corporate mergers, piracy becomes more and more popular.
It would not be strange at all to have one of your twenty-first century characters be a pirate.
