So I’ve Decided To Start A Blog About Music And Parties

the idea came to me on a break at work after leaving my phone at home, my mind never clearer… i should be blogging about music. pitchfork is dead, first of all, and third of all it’s something i cannot live without, so why not?

I’m not sure of the “” format “” this will take but right now i’ll just write things as they come?? and part of my love for music is of course parties. they’re still so life giving to me and i still think nothing is better than dancing with gay ppl some of whom are my friends and hearing them dj. some of them are even good! it’s just spaces of eternal and endless flowing love. anyways.

arianka is back!! when i first heard yes, and?, i thought “alright miss grande this is cute!” and it’s grown on me ever since. I’ve been anticipating this album, seeing what direction she would go. i’ve been listening to sweetener every day for the last few weeks mostly because the eating 4 free series on ariana recontextualized her… everything, i guess?? i’d always seen her as just like a Nickelodeon product industry plant which as a certified quirky-not-like-other-girl syndrome haver did not interest me. i was still listening ofc but i wasn’t invested like i was in say lady gaga (and oh how the tables have turned on stefani the pharmacy tech but i digress!) anyways the five part e4f series on her, how she got started with looping covers of imogen heap on youtube, her serious involvement in the production of all her albums, really digging into the pain and scrutiny she’s been through from her time with The TV Producer Who Shall Not Be Named to the donut incident (which i always thought was a slay) to the literal Manchester bombing, her relationships especially with mac miller… not gonna call myself an arianator or w/e but i am a fan now, especially after relistening.

before i get into the album i just want to say this: the music video for we can’t be friends was adorable! it’s very sad that we don’t get music videos anymore because they’re not profitable or useful for marketing. still haven’t seen the yes and video but i’ll get to it. my main point is that give evan peters a stingy little mustache, grow his hair out a little longer, and he could pass for spongebob slater! so many people on twitter are mocking him for his looks/ariana for being with him but gassing up evan. look, ethan is… not a guy i would approach in a bar let’s say, but i’d let him buy me a drink, you know? and if we’re to believe ariana on supernatural and ordinary things, they have something special! tweets will go viral about “every hot girl needs a medium ugly bf” but she’s not allowed to do it? anyways.

if you detect a pivot in tone here, it’s because i’m no longer blogging with a sour cream donut and 3/4 of a dunkin latte with oatmilk and nothing else fueling my body, sun glowing through the clouds and full of optimism.. there’s a harried blogging now while i try and finish this before i hop in the shower to get ready for a hookup tonight. also, i’ve been thinking and listening to eternal sunshine again, reading and digesting lyrics and of course many many stan tweets about it.

first, i’d like to amend something i stated earlier that i refuse to edit: evan peters represents dalton her ex(?) husband, not ethan. (side note: i wonder if she’s thought back to the line in thank u, next where she says she hopes she’ll only get married once. either way the song is still a smash!) i of course forgive my confusion because, for reasons unknown even to myself, i assumed the majority of this album was about the forbidden romance that soon overflowed into her public relationship with spongebob, but it’s not! this is very much a breakup album and nobody is bored in it.

i’m really fascinated by this because ariana took such a turn in disappearing from the public eye after getting together with dalton (which was certainly aided by the pandemic). as a non-stan, i couldn’t tell you what little she HAS been putting out, but if the inimitable joan summers couldn’t find pictures of her for a two year period, it’s safe to say she was lying low. and yes there have been jokes and supposition about “ariana wasn’t allowed to talk about the divorce as per their agreement but she sang about it~~” BUT! if we take that into consideration (and also rely on the journalistic analysis of e4f), most of the negative press and comments came from dalton and his camp. divorce agreements and technicalities of speech aside, i think she chose a much kinder way to speak about their relationship. even she says she wishes she hated him (knowing very little about their relationship, I’m happy to hate him off of the line about him turning the tv up on her crying) but she doesn’t! even with songs like the boy is mine, supernatural, and ordinary things, she really details a story of a relationship disintegrating with both her and dalton finding other people. it’s certainly not the cheating homewrecker story everybody was running with months ago. even if the arianators turn on dalton, he’s still spared any real damage to his reputation because she doesn’t paint him as a monster, scoundrel, narcissist, etc. not to get too “a man can laugh but a woman can only chortle” about it, but i hope people who wrote ariana off listen and reconsider that despite the tabloids and the lyrics, none of us know what went down in that marriage.

okay but what about the music? this will maybe be the shortest part of this blog (oops!), but I’m really fascinated with the narrative around and in the album. the music, I’ll probably need to listen for another week before i have anything worthwhile to say (i need to go full geek on it). keeping it brief, it felt very airy. sonically it sounds like the imaginary room the cover was shot in: spacious and full of sunbeams. something about some of the songs (wait for your love and yes, and?) felt very 80s to me, but i’d need a psychoanalyst to explain that to me. you still hear an rnb influence throughout, but why wouldn’t you? obviously the boy is mine, but true story as well with the bass straight out of “pony” by ginuwine and a drum pattern (pattern, not sample, don’t get it twisted) similarly to “don’t hurt yourself” by beyoncé. my personal favorite of the album was imperfect for you, but i’m a sucker for a pedal tone that creates dissonance, what can i say?

how do you feel about the fact that Obama went back on his election promise to codify roe v wade while at the same time expanding the executive powers of the president

This question is clearly a trap, but here goes.

Obama had very little political capital to use, and he chose to spend it on health care. He was able to get a couple of Republicans on board and get it passed. There is no possible way in any universe he could’ve gotten the votes for federal abortion protection, and that would’ve been that: no abortion protection, no health care.

As for expanding executive power, let me ask you a genuine and actual question: do you think any expansion of executive power short of pure and total dictatorship could have given us abortion protection? And, a follow up: do you *truly* believe Obama is who to blame for expanded executive power? Because that’s on Dubya.

Look. The bottom line is this: Donald Tr*mp was able to appoint 3 Justices. The opinion was 6-3. If Hillary had been elected, she would have appointed 3 Justices. Then the opinion would’ve been 6-3…FOR Roe.

So bitch about Obama all you want, but the truth is he couldn’t have done it with the Congress he had. Period. And Hillary, no matter what you think of her, would’ve selected Pro-Choice Justices and we would still have Roe right now had she been elected.

For a house full of Dead people only 2 people from the orginal season was there.. for a total of 10 seconds

This series makes me want too re watch older seasons of American horror story.

The biggest problem with this series is simple. They are trying too make us care for characters we will only know for an hour.. and they are laying Heavy on the Gore too make up for it.

I just.... wanted more for this series. But it's hard to watch.

i said a lot of really dumb shit in 2018. and 2019. and before then. and after then. and i’ll probably say more tomorrow or yesterday or next week and that’s honestly just kinda how life rolls. we’re human. we fuck up. we should be allowed to atone, learn, apologize, move forward, etc. anon i’m really sorry that that’s been your experience. i’m not sure if i know you, maybe i know you by association ( i think in general there are a lot of people who have been on here since 2018 that people know by association or reputation, whether that be good or bad ). but i’m really sorry that whatever happened, happened and that now you can’t move forward and beyond without that sticking to you. because god damn if there were people following me around reminding me of the kind of person i was during certain friendships or time periods or parts in my life when i, knowing myself, don’t think that i presented myself as best as i could, i too would have a metric shit ton of anxiety and panic attacks.

now directly to anon, and anyone else that needs to hear it: you’re allowed to grow. you’re always going to be allowed to grow no matter what awful thing you did. i think depending on the specific situation, you’re always probably going to have to also learn to be okay with the fact that some people might not want to forgive and forget. and you know what? that’s okay. because you don’t need them. and you should grow and learn to be someone that YOU like and can live with. any and all growth and learning you do should ultimately be for you. people are going to like and dislike you regardless of it, which sucks, but there’s about 7 billion people on the planet and statistically speaking, not all of them are going to love you. if they did, you would be chris evans. i don’t know your specific situation, so unfortunately i can’t be like “hey this is what you gotta do” but i do know that there’s a lot to be said about people owning up to mistakes and learning from them, and there’s a lot to be said about letting go of the expectation that you’re going to be liked by everyone you meet. and at the end of the day, if YOU know that you’ve grown, then that’s what matters. because in all honesty if there’s one thing i’ve learned about our home sweet hellsite here it’s that you’re never going to win and you just have to make it yours. but i’m really sorry for the amount of pain it’s caused you, i really hope it eases soon and things get better. and i really do think you deserve to be able to move on, regardless of the situation.

If it's hasn't been asked before, could you write how the more sadistic/ruthless Killers reacted to Legion getting blighted and fused? Like, do you think they would attempt to help and pull them apart, or just feel something close to sympathy towards them?

Hmmm. Well, it depends.

I would consider Freddy, Kenneth, Danny, Amanda, and Herman to be the most sadistic out of the remaining, and then Kazan, Evan, Bubba close seconds. So I’ll answer for those I guess?

I think Freddy would love it. He inflcits body horror onto kids and teens before killing them all the time and revels in it. He’s definitely exploit it and hurt then worse and toy with them if given the chance.

Kenneth would feel no sympathy, but probably would be frustrated, because I think he considers the Legion possible torture subjects of his own, and them all fused into one mass of bodyhorror pain puts a damper on that. Probably he’d just become less interested in them.

Danny would think it’s funny. He’d fuck with them and try to take pictures while mocking how ugly they are. He’d make them miserable.

Amanda would depend on what the Entity thought, since her paragraph describes her shifting her devotee obsession from John to it. If the Entity was down with that, she probably wouldn’t care/pay attention, or might tell them it’s their own fault for fucking up and that’s why they’re punished. If the Entity didn’t like it, which I can’t imagine the case—canon makes me feel it was very chill with this—then I assume she’d tattle to it and maybe try to fuck up Talbot for breaking rules.

Herman would probably either not care at all, or be super fascinated and want to kidnap them to run experiments on—it’s one polar side or the other baybee no middle ground here. I do not at all think either sympathy or helping them would even cross his mind though.

Kazan it’d depend? If he saw them as equals or at least in the same major category as himself, bc they hunt for the Entity too, then unless he believed they deserved it for disgracing themselves, he’d probably try to help them. Especially if he’d been tortured by Talbot too. If he considered them beneath him, he might just ignore, but I don’t think he’d harass them, and he might help if asked or if mad about Blight in general or the mood just struck.

Bubba I doubt would care. He’s kind of in his own world where mostly just he and his seperated from now family live. I don’t think he knows Legion or would get what’s going on, since Blight hasn’t messed him up. I think he’d probably just see them and be like “Wtf is that. Wtf is that!” and keep his distance unless they came on his turf.

Evan similar to Kazan. It’d just depend on how he thought of Legion in general. He’s been tortured too, which probably makes him slightly sympathetic to them or at least like, more than usual. Idk if he would try to help them, but I do not think he’d mess them up more or be cruel about it. He has no reason to. He’s also smart enough not to try physically pulling them apart and I think to recognize he doesn’t have a damn clue how to undo the blight. Still, it just depends. If he had any interest in Legion or considered them at all in the same class, he might tell them it will eventually wear off, or that the Entity will eventually fix them, as an act of pity. But he might also find them annoying or not like them, in which case he might just ignore their isuses. Although, they have a common enemy now, so he also very much might try to get them to help him fuck up Talbot in revenge if he thought they could get away with it.

I think most of the sadistic and brutal killers, even those also tortured by Talbot, probably either wouldn’t care, or would use their weakened state to hurt or mock them as a way to feel better about themselves (or just bc they are cruel ppl). But a couple might. And I think many of the less cruel killers definitely would.

Here's a list of my questions:1) does the wraith know avery likes him? If so does he accept it? 2) why is she so close to the clown? And why him of all the killers? 3) will you ever write her as a survivor even for a week or two? 4) how is she when not in a trail vs in a trial? Does her mood effect the outcome? 5) why doesn't she like the trapper?

1) yes he knows. The others tease him and he doesnt show her he likes her too bc of the relentless teasing and mocking. The whole story is gonna be about her trying to win him over. Story of love if you will. Even if she does like other people.

2) being new (and a favorite) she and Kenneth bonded over a mutual favoritism and he taught her the ropes. Explained everything and let her stay when she had no where to go. As creepy and scary as he is he has a soft spot for her and vice versa. They have a father daughter like bond. Tho he won't admit it.

3) she originally was a survivor. But I could touch back up on that later.

4) not in a trial is usually met with roaming around looking for ppl to bug until trials. If she can't find someone she goes swimming and tries to sun bath with what little sunlight they get. She's usually very chill and can be found singing in a tree somewhere.

Trials are meant to show your worth so she usually goes all out always apologizing to the survivors for the harm she causes.

If shes angry she brings a mori and takes it out on the survivors. No apologies. If shes angry outside of trials she will fight anyone.

5) her and Evan clash a lot. He thinks she should act one way and she disagrees. She doesn't like being told what to do. And the fact he holds himself so high just bc he was the first killer in the realm. It dont mean shit to her. Most of their scars are from each other. They fight to release anger and tension and its really the only reason she instigates shit.
