Undertale AU idea (I hope this hasn’t been done yet)

I haven’t worked out why or how yet but what if the undertale monsters became more primitive and... well... traditionally monstrous.

alphys going on all fours with sharp teeth, claws, and a dragon-like spine.

Undyne letting her hair hang over her face, her fins elongating and her claws lengthening. She develops new ragged fins on her back and arms.

Sans teeth developing into noticeable fangs and the back of his skull changing to look more like gasterblasters. He gets hunched over and loses any control he had over his powers.

Maybe Flowey would cause it or something?

Pap and Frisk are the only ones unaffected. Pap because come on. He’s too pure to have anything to corrupt (unless you want him primal idk?). Frisk because they’re human.

Just. Idk. I want to draw this but I don’t think I could do the images in my head justice.

This is my first time making an actual blog so I hope you all enjoy.

Primaltale is an AU concept that I've had stuck in my head for quite a while and it's only now that I have managed to write anything about it down. My thanks to Toby Fox who created Undertal and Deltarune, as well as the cringey yet fantastic community the games have created.

Primaltale is a basic AU concept that closely mimics the original Undertale AU, yet each character has a few appearance changes and every single monster in the underground (aside from the ghost cousins) is infected by a virus called "The Prime". This virus is highly infectious and is magic based instead of physically based as most viruses are. The virus is usually transmitted by scratches or bites but can also be transmitted by some other physically based attacks.

The Prime is a mutated version of lycanthropy (the virus that causes humans to turn into werewolves) that has adapted to be able to infect monsters instead of humans. It can still infect humans but only if they have a high enough concentration of magic within their souls. Once a monster or human is infected with the virus, there is no possible way to get rid of it, even being killed and revived again won't cure them of it as the virus embeds itself into its hosts soul (though the virus can still be active and transmissible in soulless beings, the secondary consciousness will not be created or will be completely destroyed). The viruses main objective is to protect its host in order to spread further and it does this by creating a whole new consciousness within the hosts soul and mind which it creates using the hosts primal instincts (as well as mixing in bits of the hosts own personality). The consciousness however is always dormant until the hosts first transformation. The transformation usually occurs in a time of high stress, grief or anger, but can also happen when the host is in a situation when they know they won't survive without it. When the transformation first happens, the original consciousness of the monster and/or human is pushed into a dormant state while the secondary consciousness is forced to awaken for the first time as the body transforms into a larger and more animalistic version of the host (the clothes of the host do not get destroyed in the process and either transfer to the primal body or are stored magically until they transform back). This first awakening of the second consciousness is often stressful and the second consciousness will either aggressively lash out at its environment or try its best to run away and hide itself. The transformation process can last anywhere from a few minutes to an indefinite amount of time, as the transformation only stops when the secondary consciousness willingly chooses to transform back.
