apparently I haven't posted since July. there's a variety of reasons for that, one of which being that I moved in August and am still in the process of unpacking.

another is that I am also in the process of building my new workshop. doesn't leave much time for other pursuits, although I had a most amusing idea and so far everyone I've explained it to had reacted with "yes! do that! also here is an idea for you to use please use it immediately" but there's a lore book needing to be written before I can really start anything.

anyways, I made this for my dad for christmas. can you spot the errors that were totally definitely intended from the beginning, that's what the whole piece is about? (there are at least four)

how to finish a pattern you lost inspiration on over a year ago: mash it up with a @shitpostsampler!

This is a combination of this Dimensions pattern and this Shitpostsampler pattern. I was inspired enough to go from about a quarter finished pattern to this masterpiece.

The other caption I considered for this picture was "when you mess up one part and instead of unpicking six stitches you change the entire pattern" because I made the "C" too wide lol.

All but the blue thread are from the Dimensions pattern. It’s stitched on 18 count aida because I hate working on 14 count. 

...although I am using the 14 count that came with the kit for the mystery stitch along because I also hate wasting it.

i have at least two more dental appointments. one to put the crown on and one to deal with the two new cavities the dentist noticed while working on my molar tonight. 

Joked with the dentist about making the crown the same color as my hair.

I just want all of this done with so my mouth and jaw stop hurting. Decided to have ice cream to numb it and discovered that all I have at the moment is stuff I bought like. two years ago? It’s. not great. But it is cold, and that’s the important part right now.

and since I keep having to remind myself that this is an art blog, here’s some art of one of my Lockettes, Ziggy.

I also spent a few hours updating my writing blog’s theme, so in the last eighteen days I’ve done more on tumblr than I did in all of 2019.

Okay yeah, despite the joking about deciding which A-named character I was going to draw, there was never any question. It was always going to be Anetoix. The Frenzy of Detonation Catsplosion is about to go off.

...the roof, probably. She thinks the explosion is bigger if the impact is harder. It’s really really not. Ane, please learn how to use your own powers correctly.

surprisingly, I have not yet receded into the void

the pain to fix pain is still doing its thing, even with medication to make it better. it’s been a very long day; woke up with a migraine, lazed about until it faded enough to go to work, went to work while daydreaming about some Lay Waste the Sky stuff, attempted to do my job and managed about 2 hours worth of work in the four hours I was there because oh hey the migraine came back, spent time considering storyline for my newest project while driving home. 

so that’s what this is. a couple of character designs for said project. I’m not sure if this is what I’m actually going to go with, but I don’t have my notebook for figuring all this out yet. Why is so much of my new stuff arriving next week? I want it noooooow.

since I posted dad's christmas present last night, here's what I made mom. it's a painting based off a picture I took when we went to Oahu for my birthday last year. the proportions are way off but everyone seems to like it so here we are.

brother dearest got a backpack and I didn't take a picture of the painting I made for his SO since I fucked it up and had to redo it christmas eve, so unless someone wants to see the pictures of the tools my parents bought me, I'm just going to disappear back into the void the way I normally do.

Yeah this is 100% because the black hole picture is M87′s black hole. Tamiel is wearing M87′s Sloan uniform, taking a selfie like “what’s the big deal, I take these pictures all the time”

Job stones! my third, fourth, and fifth attempts. I won't know if the 5th is worth anything until this time tomorrow, sigh.

The third attempt (yellow, red, sparkly blue) worked better than the 4th if only because I didn't mix resins. Its just epoxy resin.

the 4th attempt, which admittedly looks super cool and I love the MCH stone way more than expected, was a damn mess. unfortunately, I poured the uv resin too thick and the light didn't manage to cure it fully before I filled in the body with epoxy resin. they were so sticky when I demolded them :(

so this afternoon I did what I could to fix them (a uv resin coat) and added even more unnecessary glitter then moved on to attempt 5.

three super thin layers of uv resin and then the epoxy. Its a combination of having a lot of epoxy resin and very little uv resin that led to this choice of how to make them.

really hoping they turn out. there's glow in the dark powder mixed into them.

So here we have Sailor Yeqon (Lust, Vayu, Faunus, Garnet). She looks mostly like Lust because eight years later I still love her design and color scheme.
