I am too specific in my thinking. I am not too cerebral or spiritual. When I am singing I am thinking only about what I am singing. I need to ensure that the swaram is in place, the ragam is in place, and the conjuring of the phrase I want to sing. It is all very, very material. There is no extra thing in my mind. You have to know what the violinist is playing, what the mridangist is doing. So I am very conscious of these things. There is no chance for me to personally transcend it. I am not a yogi. I am a very practical person
