All's Fair In Love & War- Nobunaga Epilogue
Epilogue
It had been some time since the Hono-ji incident. There had been a few territories try to rebel, but Nobunaga quashed those rebellions soundly. Sometimes just himself and his troops, but other times he would bring me along. It truly depended on what the situation needed. We were still waiting for Kennyo or the Uesugi-Takeda Alliance to make a move, but so far everything was quiet once we had stopped those small rebellions.
I had been away from my territory too long and it was time that I returned. Nobunaga true to his word, came with me. Jiro and Sato, accompanied me of course. Hideyoshi, Mitsuhide, and Masamune came with us as well, leaving Mitsunari and Ieyasu to keep watch over Azuchi.
“We’re going to have to figure out exactly how we are going to be splitting our time.” I said to Nobunaga as we rode beside each other.
He grinned at me. “Yes, we’ll have to work that out. But for now we’ll just go as we are needed.”
I couldn’t help the happy smile that came to my face. We truly were a couple, figuring out how things were going to work. Though it was a little more complicated than a simple your place or mine situation, given that we were both daimyo…but thankfully we had supportive vassals who could look after things in our stead while one of us was staying in the other’s territory.
“The bigger issue will come once we’ve accomplished your goal of uniting the country, Lord Nobunaga.” Sato said.
“I think that is more easily solvable.” Nobunaga replied.
I gave him a look. “How so?” I asked.
“I have always planned on building a new castle to rule from anyways. We’ll just have to live there.” He answered, giving me a roguish grin that made my heart pound in my chest.
“You really do want me to rule the world at your side then?” I replied.
Nobunaga reached over, his hand taking mine even as we continued to ride through the plains. He brought my hand to his lips. “I was not just spouting useless words. I do not say things I do not mean.”
I felt my cheeks flushing a bit, though a smile was on my lips. Though I knew Nobunaga meant his words… it was still hard to get used to. Most men that I had met here…they only wanted me to get my power. “I know…just takes some getting used to.”
“I will find a way to assure you that I mean what I say.” He told me.
“I would have thought them being on separate horses would solve some of their flirting.” Jiro commented.
“It’s truly like the rest of us aren’t even here.” Hideyoshi agreed.
“I think it’s sweet.” Sato said, grinning. “Besides, just look how happy they are.”
“And would either of you ever truly object to anything that makes your lords happy just because it doesn’t seem…appropriate to you two?” Mitsuhide added, his tone teasingly challenging.
After traveling for three days, we finally arrived at my territory. When we arrived to my castle, Kei was greeting us. “Welcome home, my lord.” She said. “And welcome to our guests.” She bowed to each of them in turn.
Other attendants were coming up to lead the others to their guest rooms, while Kei looked at me expectantly. “Is there already work?” I asked. “Jiro and Sato kept me updated on things and we had a system in place…”
“We just have to discuss preparations for the banquet, my lord.” Kei answered.
“A banquet?” Nobunaga asked.
“What are we celebrating? And I am more than happy to cook up the food.” Masamune said, grinning.
I wracked my brain for what the banquet could be for. “What are…”
“Did you really lose track of the date, my lord?” Jiro asked me.
I looked at him and then I let out a groan. “Dammit…”
“What is it?” Nobunaga asked.
“Nothing important and I still don’t understand why all of you insist on this stupid tradition…” I answered and then looked at my vassals and my aid.
“It’s her birthday.” Sato said, grinning.
“Your birthday?” Nobunaga asked. “That seems a perfect cause for celebration.”
“Well, it’s not really my birthday…or at least not the day I was born.” I said. “It’s the day I was officially adopted into the Yamada clan.”
“Still, it’s a day worth celebrating.” Nobunaga replied, his arm coming around my waist.
“You know your mother and father always loved celebrating it.” Jiro pointed out.
“Yeah and I loved it then too.” I replied. “But now…”
“We have also gotten word that some of the guests have already started to arrive.” Kei said. “Some are requesting an early audience with you as soon as possible, my lord.”
“Dammit.” I groaned, knowing exactly what it meant.
“You know it’s not that big of a deal.” Jiro said.
“It’s exhausting.” I replied.
“It’s only customary to receive tributes as a lord on your birthday.” Hideyoshi pointed out.
I sighed. “Alright, Kei let’s go.” I said. I gave Nobunaga a quick kiss. “I’ll see you later.”
Nobunaga watched Ava walk off with her aid. He wondered exactly what she found so exhausting about receiving tributes for her birthday…or adoption day in this case. Most of the others had already gone off, but Sato was still in the hall with him.
“You wanna know about it?” Sato asked, grinning.
Nobunaga looked at her. “You know why she dreads this?”
Sato nodded. “Follow me, my lord.” She said, gesturing for Nobunaga to follow her to a storage room deep within the castle. She slid open the door. “Here are all of the tributes she has received over the years.”
Nobunaga walked into the room and looked around. He took all of the gifts, noticing various trinkets and items…some clothes. He noticed a theme amongst all of these gifts. “They all have family crests on them…and none of them are the Yamada crest.” He noted.
“All of those tributes came from various men, second sons typically or the occasional warlord who wants to expand his own forces.” Sato explained. “Each gift has come with a marriage proposal.”
“I see.” Nobunaga replied. “So, these guests that are arriving, they are all men who will be bringing such gifts and marriage proposals?”
Sato nodded. “Yes, and that is exactly why Lord Ava finds it exhausting.”
A plan began to form in Nobunaga’s mind. “Sato, would you be able to show me to one of your most skilled tailors?”
Sato smiled. “Of course, my lord.”
A few days later…
It was finally the day of my “birthday” banquet. I had been dealing with a handful of visitors a day, bringing me gifts and their stupid proposals. The only thing that made it all bearable was getting to spend my nights with Nobunaga. After the hard days, spending time in his warm embrace was truly peaceful and relaxing.
I dressed for the banquet, putting on my finest robes and Sato helping me to style my hair and put on a bit of makeup. “You know, I hope once all of the guests see Nobunaga sitting beside me, they’ll back off.” I said.
“I am sure.” Sato replied. “If they’re smart they’ll be intimidated by Lord Nobunaga. Even though they really should be just as intimidated by you.”
“I am probably less patient with them and would be more likely to run them through.” I replied.
Once we had finished getting ready, we were heading to the banquet hall. Everyone was gathered there… though the seat that was beside mine, reserved for Nobunaga was curiously empty. As I walked past Hideyoshi I looked at him. He looked a bit guilty of something, but nodded.
“Lord Nobunaga said he would be running just a bit late.” He whispered to me. “But he swore he would be here.”
I nodded but frowned despite myself. I was really hoping that he would be here already. I composed myself and made my way over to my seat. I looked around the room, noticing all of my guests…thankful that at least Iksu wasn’t here.
“Thank you all for coming to celebrate my birthday.” I announced. “Now please enjoy the food and drink.”
The banquet began and soon, the guests started to get up to come before me and present their gifts. A string of men with gifts containing their family crests and offering marriage proposals. Lord Isamu, one of the few landed lords, was bowing before me and presenting his gift. It was a pretty kimono that was in the colors of his clan and had his family crest on the back.
“Lord Ava, please accept my gift and consider my humble gift and consider joining your forces and clan with mine, as my wife.”
I fought off a sigh. “I appreciate the gift, but I must decline your proposal.” I replied.
“I beg of you to reconsider, Lord Ava. I believe we would be a good match and I could help you…” Isamu began, before being interrupted by the doors at the back of the room sliding open and Nobunaga striding in. He wore his confident smirk and carried a parcel in his hands.
“Step aside.” Nobunaga said to Isamu.
Isamu’s eyes widened. “L-lord Nobunaga…?”
“Good you know who I am.” Nobunaga replied. “Now step aside.”
Isamu nodded, bowed and then quickly moved out of the way.
Nobunaga smiled at me as he came to kneel down directly in front of me, which surprised me and honestly flustered me a bit. “Ava, please accept my gift.” He said, placing the parcel he held in my hands.
I untied the twine and then pulled the lid off the box. I had to fight the gasp that threatened to escape at what I saw. Slowly, I lifted a beautiful haori from the package. It was white and pink and lined with black… but what stood out more was the crest on the back. One half of the crest was the Oda crest and the other half was the Yamada crest. They were of equal size and quality. It looked beautiful and what it all meant.
“Ava.” Nobunaga said my name so tenderly, causing me to look up at him. Then in a louder clearer voice, he spoke. “I will never ask you to be anyone other than who you are. You are a fiery, confident, and capable woman and warrior, and wise leader of your clan and your people. I will never ask you to be less than that. I want you at my side just as you are. I want you as my partner and my equal and I will accept nothing less. Rule at my side and continue to be the remarkable woman you are.”
My heart was pounding in my chest and I could feel tears stinging at my eyes. I wanted nothing more than to fling my arms around this man…this truly amazing man who really did mean every word he said. But I knew I couldn’t do that…at least right now. I smiled at him. “I accept your gift, Nobunaga and your offer. I will have no other man at my side but you.”
The other men in the room were all murmuring amongst themselves, but I didn’t care about them. Nobunaga was moving to sit beside me even as they all murmured, his arm coming around my waist. “I am glad you accept.” He said, placing a gentle kiss on my lips.
After the party, Nobunaga and I were in my room. I had put on the haori. “You made quite the show.” I said to him.
“That was part of the point.” Nobunaga replied, his hand coming up to stroke my cheek. “I had to make sure all of those fools know you are too good for them and that there is only one man to stand beside you.”
“What was the other part of the point?” I asked.
Nobunaga’s smile was tender. “To make sure you know that I want you at my side as my equal.” He told me, calling back to our conversation on the way here.
I smiled up at him, leaning into his touch. “I know…I’ve no doubts.”
“Good.” Nobunaga replied, pulling me closer. “I love you, Ava. You are my fireball and I want you by my side always and I will never ask you to change or step back.”
“I love you, Nobunaga.” I replied. “I love you for everything you are and I am happy to spend the rest of my life at your side and with you at mine.”
Our lips were soon meeting in a kiss that quickly became passionate. We sank to the floor together, our hands starting to undo the ties of each other’s clothes. When we broke the kiss, Nobunaga was giving me a devilish grin. “This haori looks wonderful on you. It’s a shame to take it off.”
I grinned at him. “Who says that it has to come off?” I replied. “We could remove everything except the haori.”
Nobunaga grinned. “I think that is a most excellent idea.”
It was moments later, I was down to wearing nothing but the haori Nobunaga had gifted me. His eyes took in my form even as his fingertips reached inside to trace over my bare flesh. We kissed and caressed each other, expressing our love and devotion to each other.
“I love you, Nobunaga.” I gasped out as our bodies slowly melded together, arms wrapping around each other.
“I love you, Ava.” Nobunaga replied, his eyes warm with pleasure, love, and desire.
We spent the night showering each other in love and proving our devotion in the way that words couldn’t. This was real and true love. We were two people who shared so much and loved each other as we were. This was a once in a lifetime love and I knew we would spend the rest of our lives seeing our dreams come true together. It wouldn’t always be easy, but we would have each other and we would be partners in all things.
This love would last a lifetime and more.
Finished...I hope you have all enjoyed this! I do plan to write a sequel to this after I write a few other warlords. I hope you've enjoyed this ride as much as I have and I look forward to writing more of warlord Ava!

do you have any jdrama recs? i really wanna start watching them! thank u sm! 💓
hi, anon! I do have some jdrama recommendations but since you didn't specify your preferred genre, I'd take it that you're fine with any. (٥⁀▽⁀ ) You can click the links to check the summary.
Bitter Blood (Partners by Blood) - the first jdrama I finished watching, the comedy in this series is great and aside from the genre mentioned, there are other elements of the series that made it worth watching. Genre: Action, Comedy, Mystery Main Cast: Satou Takeru, Watabe Atsuro
Kagi no Kakatta Heya - this got my interest because of the main cast but it definitely became one of my favorites that I still rewatch even to this day Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Drama Main Cast: Ohno Satoshi, Toda Erika, Sato Koichi
Good Doctor - this one originated from Kdrama of the same title, I watched the Korean and US versions so I can definitely say that this version has a different flavor to offer Genre: Life, Drama, Medical Main Cast: Yamazaki Kento, Ueno Juri, Fujiki Naohito
Mystery to Iunakare - I posted this one before and I even read the manga, the mysteries are not that mind-blowing but the main character is very interesting. this will have a movie that will feature one of the arcs in the manga and I am also looking forward to it. ^^ Genre: Mystery, Psychological, Life, Drama Main Cast: Suda Masaki
Shikaku Tantei Higurashi Tabito - the MC is also interesting, he had an accident in the past that lead to losing all his senses except his sense of sight and he is using his ability as a private detective. this has 2 seasons by the way so if ever you're going to watch this and enjoyed watching the first season, you might as well check season 2 Genre: Mystery, Drama, Supernatural Main Cast: Matsuzaka Tori, Tabe Mikako, Hamada Gaku, Sumida Moeno
Nobunaga Concerto - this one's based on manga, I never read the manga or watched the anime so maybe this could be another reason why I appreciated the live-action version but if you haven't read or watched the animanga, you can give this a try too Genre: Action, Military, Historical, Comedy Main Cast: Oguri Shun, Shibasaki Ko
3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu - you can watch this on Netflix, this is also a very good series Genre: Action, Thriller, Mystery, Psychological Main Cast: Suda Masaki, Nagano Mei
99.9: Keiji Senmon Bengoshi - MC is also weird so it got me, I have a thing for characters that are too weird but too good in what they do. this has season 2 as well ^^ Genre: Mystery, Comedy, Law Main Cast: Matsumoto Jun, Kagawa Teruyuki, Eikura Nana
Radiation House - this is also based on manga, I've read only a few chapters but I think the series was also well-made, there's romance but not to the point that it would go off the actual plot Genre: Mystery, Drama, Medical Main Cast: Kubota Masataka, Honda Tsubasa, Hirose Alice
Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru - now this one could be a total hit or a total miss for you, some find it boring but I really loved this series, if you are fine with watching a pure slice of life drama, you might also like this one, the MC is also eccentric which also became one of the main element of the story Genre: Life, Drama Main Cast: Kubota Masataka, Honda Tsubasa, Hirose Alice
So these are just some of the series I can recommend. If you're planning to check some of these and liked them too, feel free to DM me so we can talk about it more. It's not often that I encounter someone interested in jdrama. ^^ But damn, just reminiscing about these series makes me want to watch them again.

Blue Lock Stage Play - Stage Actors' Comment
Translation by: phantombanquet
Tumblr media
Schedule
Sankei Hall Breeze, Osaka → May 4-7, 2023
Sunshine Theater, Tokyo → May 11-14, 2023
Main Cast
Takenaka Ryouhei as Isagi Yoichi Sato Nobunaga as Bachira Meguru Matsuda Shouta as Kunigami Rensuke Saeki Ryo as Chigiri Hyoma
Takenaka Ryouhei (Isagi Yoichi)
Nice to meet you. My name is Takenaka Ryouhei, and I will be playing the role of “Isagi Yoichi” in the Blue Lock stage play.
Today, the excitement of the World Cup has still yet to cool down. I am very happy to be able to make this kind of announcement.
No matter what you try to replace it with, the efforts of people who are seriously facing things will always be tremendous.
However, there are always winners and losers; efforts are not always rewarded.
Sometimes, you may have to kick others off.
In this world I live in, this kind of composition created is the reality, even if it isn't said out loud.
That's why, the words of these introduced characters stuck painfully in my heart.
As I live this story through the eyes of Isagi-kun, I hope to find hints to live through this life to survive from now on.
Throughout the stage performances, I will do my all to deliver the message of this work that is more than “that's interesting”.
Well then! I look forward to seeing you at the theater!
Sato Nobunaga (Bachira Meguru)
I will play the role of Bachira Meguru. This is Sato Nobunaga.
I am really happy and looking forward in being involved in working on the stage play of the very popular Blue Lock.
My personality and Bachira's personality, and the way people change (personalities) when they're playing are similar to my own hobbies and sports in some ways. I think that I can create my own version of Bachira Meguru without forgetting to respect the original work.
I'll make it as exciting as the World Cup!
I will do my best.
Matsuda Shouta (Kunigami Rensuke)
I am really looking forward to participating on stage in “Egoist's Climax” in the world of Blue Lock.
When the manga was released, I started reading it because a friend recommended it to me, and before I knew it, I became captivated by this work that I never thought I would be involved with.
I hope I can share with you what I feel because I have experienced the greatness of soccer through the hot battles in the World Cup.
I will do my best to build my body!!!
Saeki Ryo (Chigiri Hyoma)
This time, I will be playing the role of Chigiri Hyoma.
Now that the world is currently busy with the World Cup, I am really happy to be involved the work of Blue Lock.
As I was a soccer boy myself, a lot of times I experienced the thrilling feeling during the time of victory and the bitterness when I lost.
I will make use my own experience, and run around the stage as Chigiri Hyoma until the moment the final whistle blows!!!
I look forward to working with you.
─────────────────────────
Notes:
> You can find their comments on the official website for the stage play.
> I also posted this on my Twitter. I'll repeat what I said there, but I basically translated this because I know all four of the main cast from other stage plays that I've watched LOL. Here's additional information about the other roles of the stage actors.

All's Fair In Love & War- Motonari
Warning Strong language in this chapter, mentions of killing, and Motonari being well...an ass.
Chapter 2
I had been staying in Azuchi for two weeks when I was finally given a chance to prove myself. Nobunaga called a war council and Mitsuhide delivered the news of a rebellion in a recently acquired territory. Nobunaga declared that he would be going to lead the attack against the rebellion himself…but that I would be joining him along with Masamune.
After taking a day to prepare, we set out that night. It didn’t take long for us to reach our destination and be engaged in battle. I sat astride my horse as I raced out into battle alongside Masamune. Each of us brandishing our swords, as we lead the vanguard in the attack.
“Hope you can keep up, lass!” Masamune called, a grin on his face.
“No need to worry about me!” I shouted back. “Worry about yourself!”
It didn’t take long for me to be surrounded by a group of enemy soldiers. “It’s a woman! We can take her!”
“Oh, dear…one, two, three, four, five…five of you against little old me?” I asked, feigning distress. “Oh…do you really think that’s enough?” With my sword I leapt from my horse and onto the back of an enemy horse stabbing one of the enemies while bringing up my dagger to slit the throat of another. I kicked another off his horse, while leaping onto the back of yet another.
Before long, they were all on the ground, some still breathing and others not. Masamune rode over to where I was, having just taken care of a group of guys himself. “And here I thought you might be in distress.” Masamune teased as I leapt back onto my own horse.
“Please, I don’t do the damsel in distress thing.” I replied. “Now, let’s go kick some ass.”
The battle ended up lasting only two days. We won. Nobunaga and Masamune were both impressed with my skill in battle…Nobunaga was even more impressed with the strategy I came up with for winning the battle.
“You truly are something else, Ava.” Nobunaga told me as we rode back to Azuchi. “A real fireball.”
“I know.” I replied, grinning.
“Haha, I like the way you fight, lass.” Masamune said. “I’m really starting to see where you got your moniker.”
I shrugged. “People are always underestimating me. I just use that to my advantage.” I replied. “Being a rather small woman, no one expects much from me.”
“Your father trained you well.” Nobunaga said.
“That he did.” I agreed.
We ended up arriving back in Azuchi and were soon having another banquet to celebrate our victory. Sato, Jiro, and I stayed in Azuchi and fought alongside the Oda forces for around four months. We earned our place in the Oda forces inner circle. It was truly a wonderful feeling, getting to fight alongside Nobunaga and the others, knowing that the future I originally came from…we were making that. I don’t remember all the details from my history classes, but I do remember who the great unifiers of the nation were and now I stood among them.
After our stay in Azuchi, I had to return to my fief, there were always things that needed to be tended to and I could only leave my council in charge for so long. I wasn’t the only one to need to leave. Masamune and Ieyasu had to return to their own lands as well. We traveled together for part of our journey until we all had to separate.
“See ya around lass.” Masamune said, grinning at me. “I look forward to our next battle together.”
“So, I can show you up again?” I teased.
“Ugh, I personally can’t wait to not be around the two of you for a while. I’ll finally get some peace and quiet.” Ieyasu grumbled.
“Ah, we’ll miss you too lad.” Masamune said, grinning at Ieyasu.
“I’ll definitely miss you, Lord Ieyasu.” Sato said, winking at him.
Ieyasu blushed slightly and looked away. “Whatever.”
I couldn’t help but to laugh. Sato flirted with all of the guys. Masamune flirted back. Ieyasu always got blushy and embarrassed. Mitsunari…well he didn’t seem like he knew what was going on. Hideyoshi…well he seemed to always end up scolding her about something.
Jiro let out a sigh. “I thought you were bad before.” He said, shaking his head.
We chatted a bit more, more teasing thrown around before we were all parting ways. It was just a couple more days before Sato, Jiro, and I were finally reaching home. Stable attendants greeted us and took our horses, while other servants came to take our bags.
Once we stepped inside the castle, Kei, one of my aids was greeting me, a tense expression on her face. “Welcome home, my lord.”
“What is wrong?” I asked her.
She looked at me. “HE is here.” She answered, her expression rather strained.
“When did he get here?” I asked, knowing exactly who she was talking about.
“Just an hour before you did.” Kei answered. “He’s waiting in the audience hall. He insisted that he knew you would be back soon and that he could wait.”
“You want me to go and kill him for you, my lord?” Sato asked.
I sighed and shook my head. “No.”
“She’s right, it would take both of us.” Jiro told Sato.
“I’ll handle him.” I told them. “He is my problem after all…besides he could easily kill the both of you and wouldn’t give it a second thought.”
I then headed for my audience chamber. When I walked in, I was surprised to see the room cast in shadow as most of the doors and windows were shut, save for one, allowing in just enough sunlight to see. A lone figure sat in a rather relaxed pose, long legs stretched out as he reclined back…in the spot at the head of the room.
I walked towards him until I was standing over his lounging form. “You’re in my spot.”
A smirk spread across his face. “I see, yer still pretendin’ ya got some danglies ‘tween yer legs and callin; yerself a lord, huh?”
I drew my sword and pointed it at him. “I could always take yours.”
“Haha, yer always a fun one. This is what I like about you.” He said, slowly rising to a standing position. He came to his full height, towering over me. “Ya like ta play like yer some tough as nails Lutadora, when yer really just a scared pequena princesa.”
I glared up at him. “You think you’re the first man to try to intimidate me with your height? Please. There’s a reason I’m the Tiny Terror of the Yamada clan.”
He continued to smirk at me. “Whatever ya say…m’lady.”
“Lord.” I corrected.
“Lady Lord…whatever.” Hei said again, grinning at my obvious annoyance.
“What the hell do you even want, Motonari? I know you’re not here just to piss me off.” I said, moving to sheath my sword and take my seat.
“Well, I did come here to find out what the hell ya think yer doin’ allyin’ with Nobunaga.” Motonari replied, his voice practically a growl.
I made a mock pouty face at him and spoke with a patronizing tone. “Awe, does my alliance with the Oda bother the big mean pirate who tries to pretend he’s scary?”
“Sure as shit it does!” Motonari shouted at me. “You ferget about yer deal with me?”
“I don’t see how my alliance with the Oda impacts our deal.” I replied, doing my best to keep my cool. “You and I aren’t even allies.”
“Nah, just made a business deal.” Motonari agreed. “I don’t ally with no one I don’t trust.”
“And you don’t trust anyone, I know.” I replied. “I’m still not seeing what your problem is. And if we’re talking about deals and such, allying with Nobunaga is a smart move. Better than going to war with him. Sure he wouldn’t win, but we’d both be down a lot of resources and the casualties…it all just wouldn’t be worth it. Besides, a united country would be better for you and all of your trade…also didn’t your clan JUST sign a treaty with the Oda? You know the clan that you’re no longer in charge of because you’re playing dead?”
“Only till the time is right.” Motonari replied. “I don’t make no deals unless I can get somethin’ good outta it…and I’m gonna make the most outta the deal we made, while makin’ the best outta the deal you made.”
My eyes widened. “What…”
“I’m callin’ in that favor ya owe me.” Motonari said, grinning like a predator that just spotted its prey. “Since yer part of Nobunaga’s inner circle now, yer gonna help me and be my little spy.”
I instantly rose to my feet. “Fuck you! I’m not gonna be your spy!”
Motonari grinned. “Oh yer gonna be my spy…and well ya ain’t a bad lookin’ woman, I might let ya do that other one, too.”
I glared at him. “In your dreams will I do either.”
“Yer gonna spy for me, or else I aim my cannons from protectin’ yer ports and trade ta blowin’ ‘em all ta hell.” Motonari replied, a dangerous gleam in his eyes.
“You deceitful bastard…”
Motonari grinned. “I am the God of Deceit for a reason, m’lady.”
“You…”
“I’ll give ya a couple o’ days to think it over.” Motonari said. “Let ya at least think you’ve got time ta figure out a plan.” He was smirking at me before turning and walking away, waving a gloved hand over his shoulder.
“Everything alright, my lord?” JIro asked as he and Sato came in a few moments later.
“We just saw Motonari leave.” Sato added.
“Ugh! I hate that bastard!” I shouted.
“What did he do this time?” Sato asked.
I shook my head. “I need to be alone to collect my thoughts.” I was then leaving, heading out to the garden to find a quiet spot to sit and think. I sat down under a shade tree and glared out at the flowers as if they were Motonari.
“Damn him…” I muttered to myself. “I should have known when I made that deal with him that something like this would happen.” It was a Faustian Bargain if there ever was one. I had sold my soul in my quest for vengeance and expansion of my territory. But I’d had no other choice. I needed a navy and weapons and Motonari had both.
“HAAAHHH!” I screamed in frustration as I buried my head in my hands. I had no way that I could see out of this. At least not until I could find a way to keep him from attacking my ports and my trade routes. I had too many people that depended on that…I had to keep those people safe. They hadn’t always been my people, but they were now and it was my job to keep them safe. I would find a way. I just had to think.
