Tank anxiety is REAL. I'm a healer main but I've started dabbling in tank classes (DRK & GNB) after hesitating for so long. At first I was freaking out and worried I'd let my team down but it's surprisingly simple! Way easier than healing lol. Trials can sometimes be more complex, but dungeons are pretty straightforward. Don't overthink it. =) I ran through dungeons with my squadron (NPCs) first.

Yeah it’s really not that bad, I’m just a big baby lmaooo. I’m at the point where I’m comfortable with dungeons I’m familiar with, but I haven’t done any trials or raids yet, so I don’t know what the etiquette is for deciding who’s gonna main tank when you’re in a group of randos

And yeah I’ve seen his videos before! They’re SUPER helpful, it’s so nice that he goes through each skill as you get them and gives like lv 50/60/70 rotations, since I feel like a lot of guides are just “here’s what you should be doing at lv 80″ which is not helpful for the preceding 79 levels

you are flying through this!! I just reached Heavensward like 2 days ago lmao and I've been playing since the trial released (I got distracted by side quests and levelling other classes). Some of the voice actor/actress changes seem good... Others are questionable. It's jarring for sure though.

to clarify: I've been playing since the trial got upgraded back in August or whatever, lol. The real question is whether Alphinaud will ever invest in some chapstick!! Those lips look dry af, and that would not feel good in Ishgard.

I’ve been pretty much just plowing through the main scenario and only leveling one class (though it’s Summoner, so I basically get Scholar for free), figured I could always come back for other stuff later

And yeah I’ve got mixed feelings about the new VAs (or at least the ones I’ve heard thus far, I’ve only heard a handful). Alphinaud’s in particular is taking some getting used to- it’s not bad, but it makes him sound a lot more....... boyish? I guess? His old voice always sounded a bit sarcastic/pretentious in a way I quite enjoyed and I haven’t gotten that vibe from the new voice

Speaking of, yeah Alphinaud’s a complete mess in the self-care department, like the boy’s been trudging through snow in his platform boots with literal holes in his outfit, lips chapped as hell, you KNOW those pointy-ass ears are freezing in the wind, and it took like 50 quests in Coerthas for him to get a fuckin jacket and actual snow boots. just a high-functioning disaster

oh yikes, thanks for the warning. I don't go on Twitter much but I do follow the FFXIV account... I'm only at the beginning of Stormblood so I do Not want any spoilers.

Yeah I would def unfollow the main account until you’re caught up, and potentially even the main Square Enix account since they retweet the FFXIV one every now and again (they did retweet the AMV I mentioned). Like it’s cool that they retweet so much fanart & stuff but I do wonder how many of their own players they’ve spoiled that way lmao

I’m only in Heavensward (doing the quests leading up to Stormblood right now) and this post scares me lol. I’ll probably look at your liveblogs after I finish the story myself!! =)

Man the 3.x quests are so good, I’m sure you’ll have a blast :) And honestly I was crying both sad and happy tears in equal measure, so it’s not just pure misery, don’t worry

Agh, I’m on Aether, otherwise I totally would!! And yeah it’s a weird chicken and egg problem with Discord, I don’t feel invested enough in the servers I join to be active for more than a few days, but the only way I’d get that invested was if I was consistently active for an extended period of time, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At this point I’ve pretty much just accepted that Discord is not a great way to meet people for me personally, since I can only really see myself using it regularly if it was with people I already know

Mercifully I only saw the Shadowbringers CG trailer before actually playing the game so I don’t even know what you’re referring to

But yes, they seem to have a track record of playing fast & loose with spoilers so avoiding the official FFXIV socials/any trailers until you’re fully caught up on MSQ seems like the smart thing to do (if you care about spoilers)
