(‘the umbrella’s only big enough for one, so we have to be close to each other or else it won’t work!’—that’s what you imagine him saying as he winks at you, tugging you closer by the arm he’s snaked around your waist.)

he stops to think for a moment. “the burning passion of my love for you should do the trick, no?” he leans in for a kiss, and you playfully bat his face away.

Lyney coming home from a tiring show and all he wants to do is cuddle you

lyney slumped down beside you with a sigh, pulling off his hat and tilting his head backwards.

“long day?” you asked, already carding your fingers through lyney’s hair. it was soft, and you couldn’t help but ruffle it a little from its usual slicked-back arrangement. he hooked his chin over your shoulder as he leaned into the touch. a pair of arms slipped around your waist and pulled you into his torso.

“mm,” was all he said, burying his face in your neck. you brushed his fringe aside, planting a tender kiss to his forehead.

“can you do that again?” he asked pleadingly when you pulled away. you chuckled, pressing your lips to his brow once more.

“again,” he mumbled. his arms tightened around your waist. you smiled and kissed his forehead, then the tip of his nose, and finally his lips.

“better?”

lyney nuzzled your shoulder and nodded, peppering a trail of kisses down your collarbone.

this is inspired by the master of tides performance by Lindsey Stirling

So imagine if reader is this mysterious street musician who's just casually playing an instrument and Lyney and his siblings happens to stumble upon them admiring their work for a moment before they go to take their leave. Until they're drawn back in when this supposedly 'solo street musician' breaks out into an elaborate performance that gains a lot of attention.

It's even more interesting when visions are used for visual effects and Lyney is just absolutely MESMERIZED, especially when he locks eyes with reader and they give him a smile and a wink. (he's done for)

Once the performance ends, all the actors and dancers disappear, and no one knows where or when the next performance would be since all of them seem spontaneous, plus, the reader and their crew is always disguised in some way shape or form.

Lyney makes it a mission to find out the pattern between the locations the reader uses, in hopes of tracking them down and talking to this mysterious performer who so easily captured his heart before they vanish into the night.

Who's really under that disguise? Would the identity of reader ever be revealed?

this could be really fun, though; like, as you say, lyney desperately drawing up information he can find on you from newspapers, posters, anything, all the while not being able to get that wink you gave him out of his head…

honestly, lynette and freminet are slightly concerned: this man is obsessing over finding you. they’ve had to put up with his melodramatic laments of ‘oh, when will i find the one love of my life again? why must fate be so cruel to keep us apart?’ more than once, and they’re both sort of face-palming at him because lyney, you saw them, what, twice?

still, they help him search, and when they eventually run into you again, lyney stops you as you slip away. it’s funny—he’d plotted it all out in his head that he’d greet you and be all charming and flirty and he’d return that wink and you’d fall for him like he did for you, but when he’s suddenly faced with you, looking at him expectantly to continue, his face heats up and he can only stutter out how much he likes your performances.

(so much for that smooth magician who sweeps you off your feet…)

thinking about stealing manga!cyno's cloak and playing hide and seek. I can imagine how scary it must be hiding from him since he's for one, his tracking capabilities are amazing, and two, his voice makes it terrifying??? like thinking you're safe and finally exhaling the breath you've been holding for archon knows how long and then all you hear behind you is "Found you.."

you jolt with surprise at the voice sounding beside your ear. cyno moves to stand in front of you, and you raise a hand to your chest to steady your racing heart.

“gods, cyno. you scared the living daylights out of me.”

he huffs lightly, pulling the hood of your—well, his—cloak down from your head. “i believe you have something which belongs to me.”

you clear your throat, casting a glance down at the large fabric flopping onto the floor around your feet. “fine, fine. you caught me,” you sigh. “i wanted to see how long i could hide your cloak from you before you found me. then it got cold, so i sort of…”

“put it on?”

“…yeah.”

he crosses his arms. “you know trying to hide from me was futile, don’t you?”

you shrug, reluctantly lifting the cloak over your head. “still. curiosity got the better of me.” the cloak was so comfortable, you think forlornly as you hand it back to cyno.

wallowing too deeply in your pits of despair, you don’t realise the soft look crossing cyno’s face while he fastens the cloak back around his shoulders. once it’s on, he moves next to you and drapes a generous section of it over you.

“simply ask me for the cloak next time,” cyno says, a hint of amusement in his voice. “i am more than willing to give it to you. it will also spare you in the future from my wrath.”

“your wrath?”

“yes. my wrath.”

the next moment, a hand comes to your waist and attacks your side with tickles. you wheeze, playfully pushing him away amidst a bout of laughter. “oh, please, have mercy!” you beg. cyno considers your plea for a moment, then to your horror, shakes his head.

“no mercy.”

(it’s safe to say that the laughter which ensues can be heard across the whole of mondstadt. you never try to steal his cloak again.)

Manga!Cyno being requested to help someone with a special case.

It's reader with a similar case like Collie (I couldn't think of anything better) where reader has some evil god remnants inside them, but this time it's much more destructive on their body and it's killing them/trying to take over.

When Cyno arrives he's told to watch over reader and try to cure them before it's too late. He's also given strict orders that if reader ever became possessed by the evil god while out of restraints, to kill reader on sight before they escape or harm others.

A pretty cut and dry mission right? Well...

He meets reader chained up and caged and feels bad, but still goes through with his observation and realizes reader only has less than a month to live before they die or the evil god finally consumes them.

While he pours over his books and desperately tries to find a solution, he kinda bonds with reader and befriends them through their small conversations (which is usually reader asking about the outside world, how close he is to finding cure, or personal questions about himself and his homeland)

He really shouldn't get attached, but he knows he's lost when he follows through with reader's request to eat together and he brings their favorite dish. It's almost painful to watch them scoff it down still shackled in chains ... and then he asks the most regrettable question he could because he knows he's in too deep when he asks.

"Do you... want to go into town?"

once he asks that, there’s no going back. archons, he’d never trade the way you looked at him—the way your face just brightened—for the world.

“really?”

cyno nods, hating himself for it. “yes. i will take you there, if you want to go.”

you breathe a laugh incredulity. “will… will you take these off?” you lift up your wrists, which are bound by metal shackles to the wall.

he nods again. if anything goes wrong, he’s confident that he can subdue you before you cause damage.

you chew on your lip. “as much as i appreciate it, are you sure it’s a good idea? i mean, i am chained up here for a reason.”

“i will make sure nothing happens,” he says, and with such blunt confidence that you can’t help but believe him.

“so… when should we go?”

“tomorrow, perhaps.”

a grin spreads across your face. he could almost forget that you’re not chained up in some dark cellar or that he doesn’t know if he can save you, but rather normal people living normal lives and spending normal time together.

you notice the way cyno’s expression has darkened. cautiously, you speak his name. his head snaps up.

“are you okay? we don’t have to go if you don’t want to.”

he forces out a breath through his nose, shaking his head. “no, that is not the problem.”

“then what is?”

he swallows. kneels down in front of you. takes your hand in his. his eyes are like fire, blazing with intensity as he stares at you.

“i will cure you,” he vows, his voice low with the weight of his promise. “no matter what it takes.”

im sorry, i can't get enough of performer! reader, but imagine lyney and reader are both training to be the best performers on the big stages and they join some academy where performers train and audition for weeks to be able to be casted for the big show/company (I watched getting into Cirque du Soleil and now im amazed) and everyone is trying their best to impress the grueling judges, get the choreography, and athleticism right.

People are being sent home left and right and tensions are high whenever the judges/trainers grade each member's performance.

I'm just thinking how Lyney would interact with reader, maybe have a slight rivalry with them (i can't help it)

He'll poke your stomach while you're trying to do handstands, tease you about things to make you lose focus. Nothing malicious, but it's definitely challenging putting up with him and being paired up with him too.

The training is brutal and it's not rare to get cuts, bruises, or muscle soreness. He might help you disinfect and bandage some if it's really bad and might even throw in a playful massage.

He really likes having you around messing with you, but when he sees you're more anxious than usual when the scores come out and it's time to announce who's going home, he slips beside you and holds your hand, and tries to reassure you that everything will be okay.

i love this trope so much—like, the ‘i’m hiding the true depth of my feelings for you and how much i care you behind a teasing mask of being competitive rivals because i’m too deep in to admit defeat first’.

it’s always the tender moments that get me with this kind of thing: like the last example you gave, when one member puts aside their rivalry in favour of helping and comforting the other… good shit, i tell you.

I also had these thoughts about bird xiao (xiao with wings and bird habits) and perhaps accidentally courting him while trying to befriend him

bird!xiao who dances in the middle of a forest clearing at night, and you stumble upon him, complimenting his ability—immediately, he jumps to the conclusion that you must want to get to know him better, no?

bird!xiao who gets up at the crack of dawn each day, and you try (and fail) to do the same so that you can see him more often.

bird!xiao who builds you a ‘nest’ from things he thinks you’ll find comfortable (blankets, carpets, pillows, feathers, etc.) on the roof of wangshu inn. sometimes you sit there together, watching the sunrise (if you get up early enough).

bird!xiao who assumes you’re definitely interested in him when you bring him almond tofu: some birds court by delivering food ti the other, so this must mean you’re making a move on him. he mimics the gesture and brings you food (berries, nuts, and sometimes actual meals from the kitchen) as a way of showing his care for you. unfortunately, you just think he’s being very nice and returning your favour.

bird!xiao who completely stiffens when you preen his wings for him (he’s head over heels for you by this point), and he brushes your hair in return. he doesn’t see how you’re so nonchalant about doing these things, but you’re not complaining.

bird!xiao who selects and offers you the most beautiful feather on his wing as a way of confessing his love. you thank him and accept it, unaware that this means you’re basically taking him as a partner for life now. after this happens, you notice xiao becoming more comfortably affectionate with you, and ask zhongli if he knows what’s happening. to your shock, he explains that you’ve unintentionally been courting xiao for the last few months, and basically accepted his proposal.

I strongly believe if Heizou's out investigating without spy reader, they're gonna be so bored no being able to bother and tease him. Apparently he needed to go alone so he could 'FoCuS' without a certain someone poking his side every ten second interval. 🤭

Which leaves spy reader dying of boredom at the station. There's literally NOTHING to do.

I give it ten minutes before you decide to start poking around his desk. You really didn't take Heizou to be so disorganized, but you figured he'd usually stop whatever he's doing whenever his intuition gives him a new clue. Eventually, you reorganized his desk, unable to bring yourself to look at the chaos anymore. It gave your mind something to do until you were bored and got tired of spinning around in his chair again...

I think reader might use some of his not so important paperwork to fold origami hearts or something, he'll still have to go through the trouble of writing them again.

Maybe they'll snoop around his desk and find their own case files? Then tease Heizou about how interested he is in their life (though most of his work was baseless evidence and theories, some of them weren't far off)

How do you think Heizou would react when he finds out reader was poking around in his desk? (Not that he can really be surprised)

first of all, i love this idea.

to answer your question, i think he’d blink at them from across the room as you sent him a guilty grin. with a sigh (and a smile), he’d start flipping through the papers you’d reorganised, and give a slightly exasperated chuckle at the origami you’d folded.

“i guess this is what i get for leaving you alone here, huh?”

“i reorganised your insanely cluttered desk and made you some origami. if anything, you should be thanking me.”

he paused while looking through a pile of papers, eyebrow lifting with amusement. “maybe i would thank you if one of my files weren’t missing.”

you sighed, bringing out the information he had on you from behind your back. “fine, fine. you got me.”

he took the file from you, eyes flicking up to your own and then back to the page.

“out of curiosity, you wouldn’t mind telling me how much of this i got right, would you?”

you smirked. “not a chance.”

heizou closed the file with another sigh. “in that case,” he stepped towards you until your noses brushed, and you could feel the warmth of his skin on yours as his own lip rose with a smirk, “i’m going to have to figure it out myself.”

To expand on spy! reader x heizou

Imagine you agreed to stake out a place with him and the two of you were supposed to be monitoring who enters and exits a particular building. You were supposed to tell him if you see the prime suspect (that unfortunately only you know how they look like) or any people related to them.

Simple enough right? Well... that's initially what heizou thought until the only person you stared at is him, distracting him from his job. He has to take a moment to address the importance of the case and why this isn't a good time to be making heart eyes at him.

It's adorable watching him be frustrated... so when are you planning on telling him that you seen the suspect walk out 10 minutes ago? Maybe when the 15 min mark hits 🤭

Reader just wants to prolong the case so they can spend more time with him

heizou would be both exasperated and oddly flattered when he finds out you were doing this (but he is relieved you’re taking the case more seriously than he’d thought).

maybe as ‘revenge’, he’d playfully ask you to make some deductions of your own from some pieces of evidence while hiding the actually useful ones from you, and sit there smugly as you struggle over seemingly irrelevant clues, eventually ‘helping’ you see how it fits together and watching as you grow increasingly unamused…
