lyney who, when it turns out his cloak isn’t quite big enough to keep either of you dry, also offers you his umbrella, and twirls it needlessly fancily around before opening it above your head. then, too add to the already over-the-too gesture, he bows and holds out his hand to you. deciding to humour him, you take his hand, and before you can react, he spins you around and pulls you into his arms. (‘the umbrella’s only big enough for one, so we have to be close to each other or else it won’t work!’—that’s what you imagine him saying as he winks at you, tugging you closer by the arm he’s snaked around your waist.)

“do you know any magic tricks to get us dry, by any chance, mr best-magician-in-teyvat?”

he stops to think for a moment. “the burning passion of my love for you should do the trick, no?” he leans in for a kiss, and you playfully bat his face away.

“lyney, please stop. you’re painfully embarrassing.”

he shrugs, settling instead to press his lips to your forehead. his eyes are bright when he pulls away. “it was worth a try.”

I like that when Kieran finally realizes he messed up and decides to prove himself and fix the problem he caused, the little reflections in his eyes come back. It's a small and subtle detail but it says a lot.

Also if I recall correctly the same thing happens to Bede in SwSh after he becomes the new Fairy-type gym leader? His eyes become brighter and more lively.

I think Kieran finally snapping out of the abyss that was his own self doubt and loathing and finally deciding to help the player was one of my favorite parts of Indigo Disk. My favorite being when he asks if the player and him can start over and he friends :')

Bede is way too prideful to do that, but that doesn't mean I don't think he's trying. He's definitely a bit more kinder/ trying his best to not let that ego of his take over. At least that's how I see it. Also yes, his eyes did become more likely after he started to train under opal and become a gym leader.

I think the theme here is that part of growing up you will fuck up. Bad. But it's a matter of what you do after that and how you're able to grow from it. And I just think that's neat :)

tell me abt the gym leaders’ responses to the cults! is there anything they do abt it? if so, who’s the most active?

Ooooo that's a good one.

Orion is a kid,so more often than not he's told to generally stay out of the cult stuff and " leave it to the adults". I think he's very annoyed by it, but his rock ( Reshiram ) also advised not making contact with the cults too. All in all, Orion generally stays out of it.

Xavier is Xavier. Do you really expect him to do anything about the cults? Do you really? I've had this small idea about him potentially being paid off by one of them, but I don't know who nor do I think it would matter. It's in the idea box for now.

East literally worked for a cult lol. I....am still working him out, so I don't have much for him just yet. I will say, I just had the idea of him being a messenger of sorts. To the other cults I mean. He has information on several of the cults which is often used to Jaern's advantage. I should be clear that I'm not fully sure, and East is someone I really have to dig into, but yeah! Though to keep his appearance as a respectable gym leader, he does still handle the cults....though he's more often than not handling the Sky Cult.

Harmony is arguably one of the more proactive gym leaders when it comes to the cults. The problem is that she's both running a gym and is head of the hospital she works at, which demands most of her time. That being said, she generally takes these things very seriously, so she go out to handle any lingering cult members around her area, and make sure the flow of information is active between gym leaders.

Anastasia is.... interesting. She has a very stern dislike for the cults in my eyes, but when it comes to actually doing something about them, she isn't super active. Not to say that she isn't at all, but in the game, she's shown to disregard things for her own ambitions. So yes, she does go out of her way to handle cults around her area ( specifically the Abyssall cult, which she has history with), she's way more focused on her own doings. Harmony is often nagging at her to be more diligent.

I think Diana makes a conscious effort to.....not be active unless the problem comes at her directly or she's asked to by her fellow gym leaders/ higher ups. Her history with the infernal cult and the Darkrai cult just made her so averse to everything around the cult that did just doesn't want to deal with it unless she has too. To be blunt, it's a form of her running away from her problems, something that she starts to break during the story, but before then she really just wanted to be in her own peace with her boyfriend. With all of that being said she is a fierce protector of her home. She wouldn't just let things happen bc she would rather not do anything.

Calreath, on the other hand, is very active in this regard. He understands his girlfriends aversion to the cults and doesn't push her on it ( though they have had discussions on her constantly avoiding her problems for "peace". It is something that's being worked on). I honestly like to think that to a lot of people, Calreath was like. A second in command argur. He was very popular, kind, charismatic ( and a dork), and always always looked out for others. No one knew he was a Chosen One except Dania though, for his own safety of course, so he wasn't exactly picked to be the next argur when Adam disappeared. Not that he would have wanted the title anyway. All of that being said, he was essentially doing more cult work than Jaern did lmao I actually saw your post about Cal and Adam knowing each other, and honestly the idea that Adam inspired Calreath is very cute.

Adam is Adam lol, we all know he was The Guy when it comes to tackling the cults.

Yeah, 95060 is the ship "name" for Michael and David. It's the postal zip for Santa Cruz which, as we all pretty much know at this point, is where they filmed the movie. I can't exactly remember who started it, but I think it's useful since there isn't much of a combo for their names. Micvid? Davael? None really seem "right". Unlike there is for parko (Paul & Marko's ship name).

About Goldie, as option for her connection with the deals, what if she didn't make all of them? Maybe she inherited them and wealth from a predecessor, or she stole them. Which would add another level of her archetype as corrupt business person and how most if not all business people in real life actually got into their position of power.

Which could make it more complicated for the cast to figure out why Goldie has the power she does because not all the deals can be traced back to her.

Going to your ask, it would be very Goldie for her to not make the deals herself. It helps keep her image, and make it easier to manipulate people.

As for how she got her wealth, she most definitely stole something. The way I imagine her backstory was that she had nothing, stumbled upon something that would gain her immense power and wealth, and stole it. A twist of Goldielocks and the three bears if you will. No one will know that Goldie was once a nobody that stole a certain thing ( and even if you somehow did, she made sure all evidence of it is gone). This applies back to her deals too. The most Goldie is known for is her wealthy empire, some of which most people don't know Goldie owns. It's going to be incredibly hard to trace back to her with all of that in the way( I hope I'm making sense here,heh)

As for what Goldie stole all those years ago, I don't know. It would have been money/ an estate, possibly leaving the previous owners, er, dead( owners end up dead and revealed to have a "daughter" in Goldie). It could have been something magical( Goldie is also inspired by Alice in Wonderland, so I could do something with that). But right now, I don't have a clue.

Lyney coming home from a tiring show and all he wants to do is cuddle you

lyney slumped down beside you with a sigh, pulling off his hat and tilting his head backwards.

“long day?” you asked, already carding your fingers through lyney’s hair. it was soft, and you couldn’t help but ruffle it a little from its usual slicked-back arrangement. he hooked his chin over your shoulder as he leaned into the touch. a pair of arms slipped around your waist and pulled you into his torso.

“mm,” was all he said, burying his face in your neck. you brushed his fringe aside, planting a tender kiss to his forehead.

“can you do that again?” he asked pleadingly when you pulled away. you chuckled, pressing your lips to his brow once more.

“again,” he mumbled. his arms tightened around your waist. you smiled and kissed his forehead, then the tip of his nose, and finally his lips.

“better?”

lyney nuzzled your shoulder and nodded, peppering a trail of kisses down your collarbone.

back on the topic of nemona’s character and how sweet a kid she is, it really touched my heart how she was so happy she cried at the end of the main story when we beat her in our battle. nemona, whose passion for battling she had to hold back constantly to fit in, finally finding a place to belong and be understood alongside you and eventually our arven and penny too. I can’t imagine how lonely she must have been before meeting us, even if she says she has other friends, I feel like she is the most attached to us because we are her first true friend she feels she can really let loose and finally be herself around.

( nods nods) I feel like so many people just. Forget that Nemona was lonely too. From the sounds of it, her parents are distant, her peers either put her too high on a pedestal or are too afraid to approach her bc of her battle skills. It's not as in your face as Arven or Penny, but like. The feeling of rejection sucks. Bring rejected for who you are and having to literally tone yourself down to fit in sucks. It's kinda amazing how kind Nemona is, despite it all.

And her crying at the end of the victory road battle was so sweet, cause she FINALLY had someone she didn't need to hide herself for. And because of that person, she met Arven and Penny, and then later Carmine and Kieran. Like!!!! I feel she was already grateful for one friend that she can be herself with. But 3? 5?! The girl must be sooooo happy, even despite the playful jabs, I genuinely think this is the best thing that happened to her.

Ooooooo, hm. This is hard, but the first thing that came to mind was the sound of the move leaf blade. It immediately takes her back to that picnic and her just freezing up when Rue got their arm cut off. She hates that she still freezes up at the sound. To her, it just means she didn't move past it, that she was still too weak to do anything.
