watching the BG3 cast play DnD is so funny. the first combat happens and it's like chickens with their heads chopped off. wyll casts darkness and immediately runs out of it leaving karlach inside, gale casts ray of frost for 2 dmg against the boss despite receiving guidance from shadowheart, laezel whiffs her first two attacks bc she's too busy yelling at gale and then in the middle of all this pandemonium, neil newbon is just like, "ASTARION DOES A SICK HEEL SPRING JUMP OFF A TABLE 360 NO SCOPES THE MONSTER WHILE WINKING AT GALE WITH DOVES FLYING BEHIND HIM. 15 POINTS OF DAMAGE."

just. the mental image of this utter chaos, punctuated by astarion being like, "oh shit, the protagonist's incapacitated? MY TIME TO SHINE~"

I love how all VAs despite being new to DnD know their characters so well:

Gale: Does his best to solve a problem and understand its source

Lae'zel: Angry because of the unnecessary distraction, but pressures people to deal with it rather than leave Tav behind with whatever that is

Wyll: Faces adversaries, takes damage like a hero

Karlach: Ready to brawl, gets really distressed over Scratch

Shadowheart: Is a protective ball of sunshine towards Tav while questioning herself why she even cares

Astarion: Goes full cat mode, tries to poke his nose into Tav's belongings, gets distracted, claims he only helps because Tav owes him money, goes Ultra Instinct without a problem
