hiiiiiii! i have 1,000 followers on tunglr dot com now :] recently i’ve been feeling a bit errrrrr weird about tumblr and being online so i’m going to be sentimental for a moment ❤️

i’ve had this blog since 2015 and have gone through a lot of personal growth since then. in relation to tumblr, i went through being horribly embarrassed to use tumblr bc it “wasn’t cool anymore” 😭 and only lurking on the site for years until i decided to not care about ppl and use my fav social media site. shortly after i had the idea to try out giffing again and i’m so grateful that i decided to do that! not only did i have a lot of fun relearning the process but it brought me to a lot of mutuals and gave me many real genuine friends. i just want to thank everyone who has been nice to me on this site and the people who have supported me. i know it’s just tumblr but i feel like being here and meeting you guys have really helped me as the person i am today (like girl i’ve had this blog since i was 13 😭). so thank you and i love you guys! i’m tagging some of you guys down below

Coming out of my shell… I decided to make a video of my newest ships. Last month for me was filled with kids and this month has apparently been about ships (few are older but don’t yet have video content!). Hi! I usually never send these but I’ve been following you for a while and love your desi content! I just saw your new pfp and I had to tell you because I used to be OBSESSED with Anand. Like I watched it so many times when I was a kid that 1. our disc stopped working😭 and 2. when I rewatched it last week I could quote the whole movie by heart😅. this moment reads like an 'if i had a nickel' joke and im loving it!

I USED TO WATCH IT ON DVD TOO! my dad made three copies just for me and i used to like, listen to those songs five hundred times every day to choreograph steps (Anand and Bommarillu and Godavari because i am a person of exquisite taste like that)

and then my stereo player broke and dvds went out of existence (I know why my dad cries about the floppies now) and I was taken from one of my true loves. Godavari and BOmmarillu still play on the tv but they don't roll Anand if their kidney was stolen.

Whenever I manage to see it now, I know the script by heart and the different expressions, and how the songs are so neat and tied up, and how Anand and Roopa was my first boy next door + grumpy - sunshine himbo trope... Set my standards high like you wouldn't believe. Even Anita and Raju, who weren't even together, were couple goals and I will die on this hill

(also, am I the only one who notices new hidden meanings with every rewatch... cz THERE ARE SO MANYYYY!)

Directors cut for Everlong (surprise haha) - the stairs scene because (as you know) it absolutely destroyed me and it was so well done! ❤️

Each big Snape moment throughout the fic feels (to me) like a similar build-up, growing in intensity towards something like a boulder down a hill until they actually interact...

In chapter 8, the morning after karaoke, casually popping into Instagram with the implication he is in London, all of Lily's concerned friends reach out instantly, one after the other and we have a definitive, she's off social.

In chapter 13, Eaton Terrace sets the scene of the group meal, a lot is going on and then the text arrives, Sirius' reaction is automatic and we follow through his eyes seeing Snape there outside the flat, the police, a spotlight on the situation. It's suddenly very real.

In chapter 21, The stairs come without warning, (to Lily and the reader).

I always knew Snape was coming back and that they actually had to interact, I wanted it to be brief and I wanted it to feel final. Also, the 'I didn't mean to' felt Wormtail-ish because he wasn't there with malintent, or to cause her an injury, but the consequences of his actions are devastating.

The whole Snape of it, while a necessary tool throughout, is actually not as important in this as the growth Lily shows in dealing with the trauma.

The parallels between her first injury alone and hidden, unwilling to burden her friends, to now, everyone surrounding her with love, and she actually asks James for help - big steps, huge.

The parallels in Sirius' trauma too, hard though it is to write/read, give him his moment to open up in his relationship, and allow Lily to take care of him while he is doing the same for her, underlining the bond that doesn't break.

It all leads to the last chapter where there's nothing left unresolved, no more skeletons, no more shadows, a future, and the promise of more.
