You know, as much as Simbar is spicy while also so cute, I just thought how funny their dynamic can be too.

Here we have Ámbar. Little miss perfect. Straight A student, rich af, always needing to put up an act, literal girlboss (like, literal, she becomes a BOSS at age 19), always have been raised to be as proper as possible. Probably grew up faster than most kids, because she was always expected to act more mature than what she was.

Then we have Simón. Silly guy. Wears beanies. Wears shorts that a surfer would wear. Says corny lines. He’s never been rich in his whole life. Shares an apartment with his bros. He always looks and dresses a bit messy. He likes to joke around and loves to make his friends laugh. He's not immature, but he's also not the kind of mature that Ámbar is - he just has... you know, normal dudebro maturity.

We see the clear difference with them kind of shortly after they kiss for the first time. Ámbar tries to keep it cool, yk, act like she usually does.

While Simón... well Simón is like this.

He's blabbering, he's awkward, he wants to kiss her again, HE CRACKS A CORNY JOKE ABOUT THE "SIMÓN MOBILE" AND THEN JUST LIFTS HER UP AND RUNS WHILE CARRYING HER.

But most of all, he's being himself with her. He doesn't care that she's the high class rich girl Ámbar, who's so proper and elegant. He's his messy, awkward, corny, yet charming self around her.

What gets funny is that in season 2, while Ámbar still puts an act around Simón even while they're dating, when alone she becomes a silly girl in love. She talks to her mirror, going "Simón is all yours now 🥰" with a bright smile, before immediately catching herself. She goes to choose clothes for the date and loudly speaks to herself "I'm gonna find the perfect outfit for mine and Simón's date 😍". She becomes what she considers "immature". She can't be in love? She can't be like that? She has to be in control! Behave herself!

Things then get complicated in season 3 - as Ámbar is going through stuff, she creates essentially this imaginary version of Simón. Simón keeps being the silly dude, but in Ámbar's head he's cool, tough, very masculine... she even, and I don't think I'm exaggerating, thinks he's rather sexy.

The best example is when she has the Solos daydream.

When looking at Simón play, she imagines him like this

When in reality... he looks like this

And idk, there's something so inherently funny to think that Simón's just looking like every guitar guy ever and Ámbar's over here imagining him in leather jackets grinding at her. It's extra funny if you can picture her doing that every time she sees him too.

To add to this, Simón during S3 also has a version of Ámbar in his head that isn't how she actually is at the moment. Only that his version of her is the version that she was in the past - the version of her that he fell in love with. From his side, he just wants to help her get back to "being herself" again, because he knows she isn't right now. Ámbar doesn't wanna go back, because while she did have genuine feelings for Simón in S2, it was also a version of herself she wants to forget about. Cause even if what she felt for him was true, she was still putting up an act at all times, since she still was under the influence and watch of her godmother. And she just wants to break free from everything, both the bad and the good.

But throughout the season she's also still a bit awkward and acts like a "silly girl with a crush" about Simón, especially when Emilia questions her about him. "Whaaatt??? Pfft, I don't like Simón, he likes me, come on I'm just teasing him it's not my fault it's him who's obsessed with me hahahaha-" She doesn't want to, she wants to keep in control and hide it, but she can't.

Simón always keeps being himself. He can be serious with Ámbar, he is incredibly patient with her and while he tries to help her, he also tells her off when she goes too far. But when he wants to, he's still the silly and corny guy with her.

My final example is the rose scene. The rose scene is beautiful. It's magical. It's very romantic and their tension is off the charts.

But also, only Simón would do a thing like throwing a bunch of petals on the floor to make a "romantic road" down the hallway. Also...

I counted and it's about 6-7 seconds from when he knocks and when Ámbar opens the door (side note that is a very short sleeping gown for a kids show lmao...)

The amount of planning for this romantic gesture must have taken so much. He had to...

Go and spread out all the flower petals. He needed to do this while knowing no one else was around, because someone else def would question what he was up to.

He'd need to make sure Ámbar didn't hear him walk around outside her bedroom door.

He had to knock

He needed to get back downstairs VERY quickly, and if he did not run then I guess he just slid down the railing? He was very good on doing it so smoothly, because he could have easily been tripping or being overheard with loud running steps.

He's gonna have to clean up all of this later

Nonetheless, this scene is still so heartwarming and beautiful. But, also, it's such a chaotic thing that only Simón would properly pull off.

Also, it's the way Ámbar just genuinely brightens up.

How she first goes "oh gosh, this is so cheesy, but adorable". But then she smells the rose and just goes in a little "yes!!" moment. Because that's her cheesy but adorable man! And he did this for her!

Side note, I need to comment on the difference between their outfits. Ámbar is here in a beautiful white nightgown, all barefoot.

And Simón is dressed like this.

It's a contrast.

But it's so pretty at the same time too.

They were from different worlds, and seeing them separate on their own, you wouldn't think it would work. But then they get together and it just... does.

Ok, so this was just gonna be a "lmao I love how Ámbar is just the perfect upper class girl and then Simón is just this silly beanie boy" but then I just decided to dive deeper.

since it's well known that "solos" was a daydream that ámbar had i feel like this is a great moment to talk about how simón would actually never dress like that in real life (i mean, he would try it out only because he knows that ámbar likes it but he probably wouldn't feel that confident since it isn't his usual style and it's very out of his comfort-zone)

HOWEVER if he had to dress like that irl without her guidance the closest thing he would come up with is literally this look morgan had (he would for sure ask luna for help and she would kinda made the whole thing messier but at least they tried) and ámbar would find it cute and it would definitely make her laugh (and that counts as a success for simón)

Top 5 favorite simbar scenes

Idk but this is part of my top 5 of hardest questions I've ever received. /j

Alright, let's do it. In random order because it's already hard enough as it is.

Their first kiss (2x70-71)! Everything in this scene, from Simón giving Ámbar the flower, to him picking her up and running, has me with heart eyes. Him telling her she's always had a light inside? They are so cute, they invented romance.

Their talk about Día de los Muertos (3x47). This is such a small scene, but I recently came upon it in my rewatch and it's so fluffy! I'm a fairly big romance reader and for me, one of the greatest sins is when the author doesn't show you how the couple works outside the big romantic moments, in an everyday situation. And that's exactly why I love this scene! It's super domestic and the fact Ámbar makes a whole Día de los Muertos-themed Roller Jam for Simón is 🥰

The ¿Cómo Me Ves? duet (2x51). This scene always has me legit in tears. Ámbar just found out she had an identity crisis for nothing and Simón is trying to help her without knowing what happened. Then they get on stage and he tells her to express her emotions through singing, and she DOES. This version of ¿Cómo Me Ves? is so intense and raw and the tears on Ámbar's face break my heart. Also the iconic Simbar hand kiss!

Their breakup 🥲 (2x73). Most people wouldn't put this in their top list, but I enjoy the angst in romantic arcs so much. Suffering but knowing the couple is going to end up together is part of the charme. Can you believe this scene is so powerful it made me want to watch Soy Luna? The dialogue is so intense and you can hear the hurt, the betrayal... Ugh, unmatched.

Their getting-back-together kiss (3x56). The buildup through the episode. Simón knocking on Ámbar's door, her finding the rose and the way she literally exults lol, the fact he literally made a path of rose petals from her bedroom to the hall?? Anyway, I don't know if it was made on purpose, but it's so clearly implied they have sex afterwards and that's so funny to me.

Honestly, there are scenes that are up there that I wanted to list, but you asked for only five and I complied. I mean... Their kiss backstage during the Flash Open? Simón following Ámbar after she's run away and them talking on the bench? Their almost kisses? It would be impossible for me to make a real ranking of Simbar scenes, they are one of my OTPs for a reason!

Simón is the most romantic guy ever, big gestures, serenades with original songs, home cooked candle lit dinners, picnics on the beach, stargazing on the countryside, the works

Nina is a shy little thing, but she’s also a poet at heart, so she’ll say the most beautiful things in private, she also loves to hold hands while out together, not only because she’s very physically affectionate and touch starved but also because it keeps her grounded, and she loves to fall asleep cuddling too

Gastón is more of a personal gestures kind of guy, his demonstrations are very specific to them and their relationship

Ámbar is a very protective girlfriend, she will go to battle with anyone who breathes something mean about her boyfriend, and her smiles, seeing her smiling is a luxury, a privilege, if she smiles at you, you are blessed, and if you wipe that smile off her face, there’ll be hell to pay

😭 a headcanon about the worst thing that happened to them:

For Simón, probably when his grandma, the one who helped raise him, his siblings and all his cousins, died, he was on tour when he got the news, it was awful

For Nina it wasn’t a specific moment, but the year before her parents got divorced, they were at the height of their marital problems, every day she came home to a fight, true nightmare material

For Gastón, I’d say it was when he got the news of Matteo’s accident from his father, he was heartbroken, not only that he couldn’t do anything because he couldn’t just drop his studies to go back home and because of the distance, but also because none of their friends had thought to tell him that his brother was in the hospital

For Ámbar it was definitely her first skating showcase/competition, when she saw that Sharon wasn’t on the stands, cheering her on

😇 a headcanon about their religion or lack thereof:

Simón was raised catholic, church every week and stuff, but he never really cared about that stuff, preferring to enjoy the life he has

Nina is a science and facts kind of girl, but she can appreciate all the art that came from the church and loves studying every religion she can get her

Gastón wasn’t raised particularly religion, and is a known atheist, but he loves visiting churches to see the architecture and history of it all

Ámbar has some bad memories of forcibly being taken to church because Sharon thought it was a good look to raise her christian

💔 An angsty headcanon:

Simón bakes a cake with her recipe and puts a candle on it to blow it out and sings the song she used to sing to him, every year on his grandmother’s birthday

Nina volunteers at a troubled youth shelter that she lived in for a few weeks when she was younger, and once she sees a young girl who’s parents’ divorce had gotten so bad, she ran away, just like she had done once, after she got home, she cried and cried until she couldn’t anymore

Gastón freaks out every time he sees an unknown number calling him because that’s how he found out his best friend almost died

Ámbar can’t brush her hair without thinking of everything her mother did to her and how she’ll never get her innocence back and then she cries

🧬 a headcanon about their family:

Simón has 6 siblings, three older, three younger, one is 35, one is 27, one is just a year older than him, one is 17, one is 13 and the youngest is 10, by the time the show begins

Both Ricardo and Ana were only children so Nina doesn’t have cousins which made her bad childhood all the more awful

I already talked about how Gastón’s mom, Catalina, is a lawmaker and his dad, Julio, is a baker, but what I didn’t mention is his little sister, Sofia, who is 6 and is the sassiest little thing anyone’s ever seen (she’s Matteo’s favorite)

Thinking about family headcanons for Ámbar is hard because her family situation is already pretty clear in the show, and I’m not a big fan of next gen stuff, but I think she, together with Simón, Luna and later Ramiro, after they get married, makes the mansion into a foster home
