hey axelle i know you're a huge gmmtv fan so i wanted to ask how you feel about the situation with krist, singto, new and tay?

okay so I literally learned about the situation bc I sent your ask to my bae @earthpodd as I was full of confusion (this is what I get for never checking my dash apparently) & I’m now going to try to form some sort of cohesive response to your ask??? I legit learned about it less than half an hour ago so at this I’m just speechless tbh... but I think I’m gonna speak about each actor separately & then gmmtv.

krist: frankly krist has been disliked in the bl fandom for a while bc of his blatant homophobia so I already didn’t really like him though I never really hated him either. I just can’t care less about him. so hearing what he said did not phase me in the slightest, like I had no expectation left in him already.

new: I do like new just fine. I do think he’s not the most incredible actor though I really loved him as kao in dbk and he was the first thai actor I crushed on when I saw him in sotus. I’ve never really fully got the grasp on his personality though so I’ve never felt close to him or really inclined to give him much of my time & attention. that being said knowing what he did makes me feel icky & sad, especially for the comments toward one of my fave actresses namtan :///

singto: I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never really gotten why everyone loved singto super duper much. again, it’s just his more introvert personality that for me never really managed to pull me in. sotus was my very first thai drama & I really loved hctm though so I do like singto & that’s why I feel a bit worse about him being involved than krist&new, especially since I’ve always regarded him as a good role model for the multiple mlm roles he’s taken on. that being said for me the comments he said with krist are despicable so I’m incredibly disappointed in him and I would really like him to release a statement explaining himself even though I don’t think what he said can be excused.

tay: now it’s very well known that I adore tay, he’s in my holy trinity of thai actors & that’s where this story hurts me the most. idk why he inserted himself in the conversation... I mean, I do know, that’s bc his closest gmmtv co-stars are involved in it. but he honestly should’ve not said anything before the three dudes involved in it & gmmtv addressed the situation. he literally made himself a target of hate for no reason. that being said I’m not surprised that he did this bc let’s be honest that’s exactly what tay would do. but I personally don’t resent him and will continue to stan bc I know tay is one of the nicest & most respectful actors in gmmtv and although he shouldn’t have inserted himself in the situation he has not done anything wrong beside that.

gmmtv: for the transphobic allegations, I’m not surprised at ALL. I said months ago that jennie & even godji & golf are treated differently than their cis female co-stars, and even though jennie has spoken about her “balls” before and godji has referred to herself as a man it’s no excuse to misgender them or treat them differently bc they’re trans. I’m also extremely surprised that gmmtv hasn’t released a public apology along with the three actors involved.

overall it’s a fucking mess and I’m fucking annoyed. I’ve always been lenient towards thai actors bc I know thailand has a fucked up rape culture & is still very much sexist but the fact that thai fans were the ones who brought this up makes me feel very differently bc now I realize that thai people know what’s fucked up & what’s not so it’s astonishes me that those actors didn’t know better. I don’t believe in cancel culture though so I hope they will grow and become better people.

that being said I’m very scared that gmmtv will start producing less series and/or subbing them & that other actors will be dragged into the situation :((( so even though I took it okay at first I’m becoming more and more distressed about the situation :(((

He's an effortless actor. Ever since I saw him in Secret Forest, I have been his fan. His acting, body language, he is the character and the character is him. I would watch a drama just for him. He is that good. My favourite roles of his are in

2. Bae Doona

Okay I'll admit, I was sleeping on her too till I saw her in Secret Forest and oh my god. She is amazing. I had seen her before in God of Study and a few english movies, but she blew my mind in Secret Forest. I don't think there's someone who doesn't know how amazing this lady is. I'm a Stan. She's a chameleon. Literally. I saw her in matrimonial chaos and she was unrecognisable from who she played in Secret Forest. Her filmography is really vast and she's currently starring in Kingdom, so watch it and Secret Forest.

3. Park Bo Young

She's adorable, tiny, cute, wonderful and impeccable. She transforms so easily into her roles, and draws me in so fast. I can't stop watching her on the screen. She's so talented, it really is a treat watching her. The best part is her crying. She is such a natural. She's done a bunch of dramas including Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Oh My Ghostess, Abyss. Her movies are really good too Scandal Makers, A Werewolf Boy, Hot Young Bloods, On Your Wedding Day and many more.

4. Lee Min Ho

I couldn't choose between him and Ji Chang Wook, but Lee Min Ho won because I like all his dramas and I'm not all sold on all of Ji Chang Wook's, so hehe.

Lee Min Ho will always be my Gu Jun Pyo. The cutie adorable dumb boy. There is no doubt he is an amazing actor. Faith I think is one of his best serials. He acted so so well in that. I am psyched about King and I really hope it's good. Just look at him cry.

5. Yoo Jae Myung

I'll have to finally learn his real name and stop calling him Do Bong Soon Appa, because this man is on fire. He is so amazing that when he's on screen, I can't stop giving him my undivided attention. He has such command over his craft, so talented, and he is experienced. Secret Forest because of course I have to mention that series, he was so bloody good in it that. A complete opposite of Do Bong Soon Appa. And every drama since then. His role in itaewon class was so villainous, in contrast to his detective role in confession. I mean the man can really do no wrong. Just watching him act out the emotions of his character is a treat. I would watch dramas just because he is starring in them, he's that good

Honourable mentions because, let's face it, just 5 favourite actors is an impossibility.

Korean : Park Min Young, Ji Chang Wook, Gong Hyo Jin, Gong Yoo, Woo Do Hwan (my cutie), Yoo Ji Tae, Seo Kang Joon, the power couple Hi Sung and Lee Bo Young, Park Seo Joong, Nam Ji Hyuk, Lee Seung Kyung. Aaah so many.

Indian : Taapsee Pannu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkumar, Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah
