My hot take of the day is that Shadow should have been a tenrec. Despite the similarities between hedgehogs and tenrecs, they are not genetically related, and their similar appearances are simply a result of concurrent evolution doing its thing.

Funnily enough, sometimes tenrecs are even referred to as “fake” hedgehogs (the Greater hedgehog tenrec, confusingly, is not actually a hedgehog.) The joke pretty much writes itself. Fake hedgehog. Faker. lol

But the only reason I really bring it up is because I think him being a lowland streaked tenrec specifically, it would have been perfect. Just, look at it. Look at this animal

It even has the stripes and everything. If this is not the most Shadow-y creature ever then I literally don’t know what is

Playing sonic unleashed the way god intended (emulated on a macbook)

#/j obviously #if you're wondering how it runs: it's so weirdly inconsistent #i do have a copy of the game for the ps3 but it runs so badly #it's constantly eating my button inputs which is bad when half the game is a beat em up combo masher #(well and also it's my dad's ps3 and i'm usually not in town to borrow it. so i was interested in trying to emulate it) #meanwhile on my computer #the highs are better than the ps3 but the lows are way worse lmao #i'd go as far as to say like 70% of the game runs smoother than it does on the actual console #but there are some parts it just doesn't know how to handle. too many guys on screen and the fps tanks #tbf to the rpcs3 guys they've done a crazy amount of improvement on this emulator! #there is this one part in rooftop run night that i used to get TWO fps in. it now hovers around 15-20fps #which obviously is still pushing the definition of 'playable.' but i am doing this for fun and blasphemy so its fine #sorry lmao getting games to run on apple silicon hardware that aren't supposed to is a special interest of mine #sega won't remaster this game themselves because they hate money i guess 🙄 #spooky talks.txt #2am musings of a madman

frontiers is literally zoomies: the game™, and i love it for that. i am having so much fun running around in circles and getting distracted by everything i see

It is literally impossible for me to contain sonic music to a single playlist. It has infected a handful of mine now, and at this point I have accepted it. The tonal whiplash you’d get within a single giant playlist is just too much

Like ok just imagine. you’re going about your day, bopping to Studiopolis Zone Act 1 and the like. and then you get immediately thrown into the screamo part of Break Through It All
