I've finally gotten through this one! It's better than Chaos Rising but IDK how to explain it 🤔 I did learn more about this new threat to the Chiss but there's SO much political intrigue and espionage going on to make this review spoiler-free 😭 I'll rate this ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 . . . Synopsis: Thrawn's latest triumph still rests newly on his shoulders. Despite leading the Chiss to victory and bringing glory to the House of Mitth, the true threat to the Ascendancy has not yet been extinguished. Their foes do not send threats or ultimatums, or mass ships on the edge of the Chaos. Their weapons come cloaked in smiles and generosity: gifts offered freely. Services granted unconditionally. Across the Ascendancy, seemingly inconsequential events could herald the doom of the Chiss. Hey everybody!

So I finished Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back.

It's a very good book, a quick read, much like A New Hope. The book is very similar to the movie, with a few changes throughout.

I rate this 4.5 Star Destroyers out of 5.

And I shall see you all next time after I read Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.

Has anyone ever followed along with their physical or digital book by listening to the audiobook version at the same time? The Thrawn Ascendancy covers are some of the prettiest I've come across! My other favs are King of Scars and Wintersong. So i've finished Lesser Evil, the 3rd in this trilogy, and will have a review up soon. Overall this trilogy is ok, Greater Good (#2) being the strongest. There's a LOT of political and military world building, which gets tiresome if you're not into it, plus you need time to absorb the info, so try to borrow it from a friend, co-worker, relative, etc. I'm going to take a break, read something light, and then jump into the Thrawn Legends trilogy.
