Bucky grumbles under his breath as he totes a folding display sign inside and leans it against the wall. He slips his key out of his pocket, glad to finally make his way home after a long afternoon of work.

He’s merely two steps out the door when a tall, slim figure comes into his peripheral vision.

“I’m sorry, we’re clos—”

The words evaporate from Bucky’s mouth at the sight of dark, curly hair, and broad shoulders outlining navy fabric.

“Hello, darling.”

“Hi, sweetheart.”

Bucky blinks, darting his gaze between his husband and partner. “W-What are you two doing here?”

“To pick you up, of course,” Steve says, his tone dripping lower when he leans in to whisper into the shell of Bucky’s ear, “but also to have a little fun.”

Loki couldn't possibly be falling for a married couple, they just couldn't. They agreed to a casual, kink-focused threesome, and nothing more. But Steve hadn’t shown any interest in kissing them until now, five months after happily indulging his husband who brought up the idea of a threesome. They all consented to it, but the energy of the room felt different than before, like if a plant had sprouted from a seed, growing until the leaves were dangling off of the window sill.

Regret was brewing in their chest the moment they confessed to Steve. Would their feelings be returned? Or rejected? It would hurt to see the couple at their club again if they weren't wanted anymore, but would Bucky still feel comfortable around them to even consider returning?

They really shouldn’t have stopped by the couple's house to the begin with. It wouldn’t come as a surprise to them if Steve asked them to leave, or—

“Loki.”

They freeze, their shoulders tensing as they wait for what Steve is about to say, unable to look him in the eyes.

In about thirteen days from now, Bloom will turn one year old in terms of being created! It's still surreal that a 3k smut oneshot turned into this tbh, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. And of course, this wouldn't be possible without @appleschloss! You're the bestest fren anyone could ask for <3

The sound of a doorknob turning, and hinges squeaking, snaps Bucky out of his reprieve. He lifts his head up slightly, but a gentle push from Sir’s hand causes him to relax again. His ears strain to pick up light footsteps descending the stairs.

“Glad you found the place,” Sir muses, fingers methodically carding through Bucky’s hair as he speaks.

“The directions were fairly easy to follow,” the new guest says, their voice smooth like silk. “I appreciate you accepting my...offer.”

Of course, life didn't just hand Bucky lemons, it gave him the whole orchard. By the evening, Bucky's mind was reeling with thoughts of the past week. He also couldn't stop overanalyzing an encounter with a sleazy customer from that afternoon, something about him felt off. It was alright though, Bucky knew his husband/dom would take care of him after dinner. Steve always did.

“Finish that sentence, I dare you,” Steve growled, pointing at the CEO of Hammer Industries with his finger.

hii, i just wanted to say I'm loving your bloom verse series, but, umm, i was thinking, it has poly in the last fics right? i counted at least 6 fics with bucky/steve/loki, can i skip those? it is bad for the story? like, it's gonna be confusing if i skip these polyship fics?? (i don't really like multishipping and i was looking forward to read stevebucky only)

First off, this is me rn:

But yeah! The OT3 section can totally be skipped if you're not into poly/multishipping. Everything in Year 7-8 (aka the poly years) has no relation to the years prior to those— there are a couple of hints in Year 6 but they're very subtle— so you're good! Around the fall of last year, @appleschloss and I got SUPER invested in the ship since we discovered it while developing the lore (crazy how things happen like that!). I didn't plan on adding an OT3 to the series when I first started posting Rose Blue, it just happened unexpectedly, like how RB's word count went from 3k to 60k lolol.

You're in luck tho! I'm focusing on the early years of Steve/Bucky now that the main bit of the OT3 has concluded (aside from oneshots, love those). Right now I'm writing Aster, then I hope to eventually write the proposal/wedding fic after that, depending on how long Aster ends up being.

I know it might seem odd to be writing a series backwards lolol but hey that's how my brain works! I started RB and was like, okay this is just gonna be a married series, but then a few months ago I was like nahhh it's time. Thus, I decided to start another longfic after saying I'd only stick to oneshots. Turns out, I didn't hate writing longfics, it's just that posting as I go works better for me instead of finishing it completely! It's very exciting that way too :)
