Controversial opinion- the more complex a dish you try and put sausage in, the more likely it'll suck. The ideal sausage dish is just sausage cut up, seared a bit and maybe throw like some honey in there. It doesn't want to be part of an ensemble it wants you to love it for who it is.

A La Beirut took over the Maru Pit Stop space on the edge of Eagle Rock Plaza. The new Lebanese street food café is focused on Lebanese style sandwiches – pita wraps and baguette sandwiches filled with beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, beef tongue, liver, cheese, lebni, sujuk, etc. They also have salads, fries, hummus, and mutabel. Bottled drinks are kept in the fridge (customers can grab what they like) in the dining area.

Beef tongue on French bread ($12): Beef tongue, black pepper, pickles, fresh mint, lemon juice, garlic paste. I could tell that the sandwich was made with love. The tongue was beefy and very tender. The garlic paste was strong. I liked the abundance of crunchy sour pickles. The fresh mint was also nice. The baguette wasn’t really a proper baguette but it was soft on the inside and very crunchy (they used a panini press to crisp up the bread). The interior of the bread did get a bit soggy. It’s not a huge sandwich, so if you’re hungry, order a side.

I've gone back a few times. The sandwiches are made with lots of love. The liver sandwich is good but the liver is a bit dry. The chicken shawarma pita wrap with garlic sauce is small but packed with flavor. Love how thin and crispy the pita is (they press it).

Online ordering is available. They took out all of the décor that Maru Pit Stop had and didn’t add much, but they play Lebanese (?) music and music videos. The décor is simple and there are only a few tables. Service was friendly. Prices are reasonable.
