'A lion is stronger than a man, but it does not enable him to dominate the human race. You have neglected the duty you owe to yourselves and you have lost your natural rights by shutting your eyes to your own interests. But my dear Sister Sara, if we do everything by ourselves, what will the men do then? They should not do anything, excuse me; they are fit for nothing. Only catch them and put them into the zenana. ' Welcome to Ladyland, a kingdom of advanced scientific knowledge, peace and love. Ruled by a benevolent ruler who believes education is the answer to every disparity in the world. In this world comes our Sultana out of nowhere while rocking her easy chair. She is toured around by Sister Sarah, into this nation where no crime takes place and sensible sustainability is the principle motive behind any new invention. This world the men are behind the purdah, looking after the basic needs of house. Women work in office only for two hours and devote their time to both science and crafts. It's feminist text to the core, I had read the text years before, this story might be the major reason behind me webbing plots to kidnap my Crush. Begum Rokheya advocates a vegan society, of love and peace. No one kills anyone or dies of mosquito bite. Written in 1905, this story is direct, universal and witty. Religion that hampers has no space here, criminals have a chance at repentance. Has sci-fi elements, but there is huge gap in her scientific conception, the blame goes on the era and condition of India back then. Durga Bai balances out the story with rustic line art from Gond Tribe. Her art makes it the perfect picture book for children and funny graphic novel for adult. The art is an echo of her tribal experience and compliments this century old feminist text. Really 'Men' are the problem! #sultanasdream by #begumrokheyasakhawathossain & #durgabai #book #reading #bookstagram #bookreview #instabook #reader #bibliophile #literaturelover #indianart #illustrated #illustration #booklover #graphicnovel #bookworm #art #instabooks #literature #booknerd #books #bookgeek #bookworm #bookover #bookphotography #bookaholic #booklovers #booklove #bookaddict #bookish (at Golf Green)

7 Sci-Fi Predictions That Came True | Frankenstein Nailed It
The future might already be written. Cheer, shudder, or eye-roll in disgust, but history shows that what awaits us is often spelled out in the pages of science fiction. The genre's predictive track record stretches thousands of years.
