You never intended to fall for Carisi the way you did. At first, it was some playful flirting, a smile that was a bit more seductive than friendly. You liked the reaction that he gave you the way a blush crept up his neck to his face, it was adorable.

Okay, you were a tease. Holding eye contact with him for a second longer than everyone, feigning innocence as his eyes glance at your lips, pretending that your mind wasn't deep in the trenches of all the dirty things that you would want him to do with you.

Or maybe you liked being a little cruel. Catching him in the elevator after everyone left. Your brown eyes meet his slightly darkened blue ones. Stepping closer to him trying not to succumb to the cologne that he wears so well. Slightly standing on the tips of your toes, your lips inches from his and delicately removing a loose eyelash from right above his eyes.

" Make a wish, Dom." Your voice was low, almost a whisper but he caught what you said perfectly. In fact, he caught everything that you did. From walking with a slight emphasis when you could feel his eyes on your backside. Or worse the way you let your curls tumble down your back after a long day of work, the smell of honey and shea butter making him want to take you there, despite the cameras in the squad room.

" You're killing me, Doll." The elevator's door opened before you could respond. Instead, you blow the eyelash from your hands, your full lips forming an 'o' shape in the direction of the older detective.

You wanted him right there in that elevator, but you are not one to give in first, especially to him. See you knew not to be fooled by his charm. Dominick Carisi might be a catholic but he is not a saint. That man was dangerous in the best ways, but so were you and you wanted him to beg.

i would just like to know how we have fallen SO FAR from last year’s finale like there was some promising stuff earlier this season and now even when they’re together it’s just the same old same old? like i’m expecting zero romantic undertones or overtones next week. and i mean…last season they literally cheers-ed “to partners” and canonically (if you take warren’s twitter as canon) danced for like an hour at the wedding after everyone had left. then called each other on the ride home. then confessed it was always them in a parallel universe. then the face touch. then said let’s find balance/hey will you maybe go out with me. and then…nothing??

personally i’m fine seeing them work a case together (i mean they’ve already done that like twice? three times? since he’s been back) but NOT until they’ve clearly made some forward momentum on their actual relationship. we had 12 years of them solving crimes together, and honestly i like their current crime-solving squads just fine, if we only get eo together briefly every 5+ episodes and they’ve literally had no actual conversations or things to move them forward as two humans trying to figure out what they were and are to each other like…what are you doing?! and not even being in each other’s finales like…they’ve put these two on the farthest of back burners and for the life of me i cannot figure out WHY.

(this is re: next week’s promo btw. i honestly have not been expecting anything and the promos pretty much confirmed everything i already thought which is that unless all you care about is the nostalgia of benson and stabler on the case together this seems like a deeply unsatisfying way to bookend their relationship? not to mention a very sharp turn from the way mariska, chris and even the writers have described their relationship as complicated, needing to go on a journey, needing to be unpacked…like we’ve seen none of that at all?)

It’s been about a year since I joined the svuxoc fandom, even though I’ve spent most of my life consuming fanfic and anonymously inhabiting fandom spaces such as this one. Because it took me an embarrassing amount of years for me to ever feel comfortable enough to participate, I wanted to take a minute to take inventory. 

In a way, I have progressed a lot. I’m sharing some of my fics, I’m interacting with a couple of people here and there and I’m daring to post something like this. That’s huge, especially when I remember how anxious it made me to even comment on someone else’s work, in the beginning. But it’s still hard, sometimes. I still struggle to start new interactions and I still second-guess myself every time I decide to post something new. I still disappear for weeks or months every now and then, but that’s just real life getting in the way, isn’t it? Yet even as I’m writing this, I’m not sure I’ll be brave enough to hit ‘post’.

It’s particularly uncomfortable because I’m not this shy or socially awkward in the real world, but something about the screen and the lack of visual cues makes me nervous and fidgety. But I’m choosing to focus on all the ways that I have grown and the connections I have made, and I hope by next year I’ll have even more to celebrate.

Sunday Morning (Dominick Carisi X Reader )

The sound of R&B feels the spacious New York apartment along with the smell of various cleaning supplies. Sonny stops when he sees you, dancing with the broom in your hand. Your curls defying gravity as well as the hair tie that's barley containing your hair in the loose ponytail. It was moments like this that the young detective fell in love with you all over again. Only a few seconds passed before you caught the man you love looking at you slightly leaning against the wall, wearing his pajama pants showing off his lean build.

" Are you going to join me detective?" You tease as you wrap your arms around his tall frame and kissing him. He takes no time pulling your waist against his and returning your passion. He grabs the broom from your polished hands before pecking your lips one more time.

" I thought you said that you hated when your mom made you clean at the crack of dawn." he asked while starting the dish water. A giggle escapes you before picking up some of the dishes on the table and handing them to Dominick.

" I did, what kid like being woken up at the crack of dawn?" Sonny couldn't help but look at you while you talked. The sun's golden cast illuminating your melanated skin. He could still hear some of the sleep hidden in your voice as you moved on from his question to talking about the movie night you had planned for the two of you.

His white dress shirt hugs all your curves perfectly, blue bra slightly showing through, while your shirt moves showing peaks of your matching underwear set as you excitedly talk about his first day of in a while.

The sound of his phone ringing stole the peaceful moment between the two of you. Sonny dries his hands before answering the phone. You didn't have to hear the phone call to know that he was being called in. His frown continued to frown as the phone call continued. Although you knew he loved his job it could definitely put a strain on any relationship. The call lasted a few more seconds, ending in him telling his lieutenant he'll be there in a few.

" I'm sorry doll, I promise I'll be back before tonight." he kisses your temple before heading to the bedroom. You sit on the couch while he gets ready in the bedroom. Only twenty minutes later does he come out the bedroom wearing one of his suits with his hair all gelled back.

He sits on the couch with you before embracing your frame. and laying soft kisses on your neck. You can't help but smile as you kiss his lips.

" Just promise me that you'll be safe Sonny." His blue eyes soften while hearing the concern in your request.

" I do."
