Headcanon A: realistic

When the gang isn’t helping out Greaseball or tormenting the other engines, they really like playing video games! They mostly like Mario and anything Mario related (Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, all that)

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

The gang takes on Dinah as their mother figure. GB always has Dinah around at the yard, and she likes making breakfast for the whole yard. Tank used to have a bit of a crush on her, but he almost got himself killed by Greaseball so he dropped it. Gear once “accidentally” scrapped his knee so Dinah could kiss it better.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

(TRIGGER WARNING)

The gang have all had their run in with drunk GB, and they all ended in black eyes and crying gang members. They hardly cry at all either, only when they’re really scared or upset. There’s nothing like being hit by your drunk boss…

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own

Tank, Gear, and Lube are triplets! They are also GB’s younger brothers. Greaseball had needed others for his gang and has no choice to turn to his own brothers for substitute. They were supposed to be short term but ended up staying around and growing closer as a family.

He was supposed to be the steam engine everyone adored.

But he was thrown away for being a 'failure' and was abandoned. Before long, no one remembered who he was.

He couldn't stand the sight of seeing everyone so happy.

All that was left in his heart was hatred, malice, and envy.

So you know how Starlight Express was supposed to be a Thomas the Tank Engine musical but that idea was rejected so it became its own thing? Combine that with the fact that Thomas gets easily jealous of other steam engines who are 'better' than him and oh boy...

That makes him the perfect Dark Curse for this AU.

GANG TRAX AND MARSHALS APPRECIATION DAY!!

I dont have a drawing of the marshals/trax... but they were part of my company's fleet. Maybe I can ask my host to draw them...

In the sketchy drawing from left to right: is Tank, Gear, and Lube.

I loved each and one of them so much.. and I do miss them all a lot! They were so fun to be around.

The trax were so nimble, the humans loved seeing how acrobatic giant robots could be.. they were built specifically for events but their other jobs included rail maintenance.

The marshalls were site supervisors from nearby yards, our company wanted to show case a lot of different engines from their fleet for that year's world championship...after all. We were hosting the event and that's why so many of our rolling stock were present compared to other companies.

When i comes to the gang... Lube was my favorite of these three. I loved his hair and playing with it. I really liked his green eyes and just.. I sometimes lay down in bed and think how devastating it must have been for him to see me wrecked...

I know how I feel about losing so many people I loved from my past life when I woke up in this one. It's a feeling no one can really understand...unless you've suffered a huge loss too. It's hard to move on from... sometimes it comes down on me and I feel...so bad... I want them all in my arms again...

Ships? THE FORGOTTEN AND BLATANTLY IGNORED POLYCULE??? ME AND MY GANG? WHY THE HELL WOULD I GO FOR ANY OTHER ENGINE IF MY BELOVED GANG IS HERE? This is the FIRST group you all get introduced to and then you close your eyes and go "I do not see it" ridiculous! They all love me and unlike Electra's components... my gang isn't afraid of being fired because they're all with me on by their own will and love.

Unpopular opinion: They are all forgotten and ignored so much? I really wish there was more content of them by the fandom. There is so little of them when it comes to fan fics! It doesn't even have to be gear, tank, or lube. The gang had many members. You can easily make an oc gang member and it would be fine... its the perfect way to yume ship with GB or to ship your oc with him because it is natural and fits!! You don't need to do any mental gymnastics or turn things around to make it work!!

These doodles and the crossover in general is at least a year old by now but @wysteriaisapenguin and I have been messing with Miitopia again and have a fully casted game of Starlight Express characters!

We’re stilling playing with it and working on story and designs but this is just for our own enjoyment. ^^ We’ll be happy to share more in the future.

Oki so

Following Greaseball Tank valued being straight and always assumed that he was until a drunken adventure with C.B. made him discover that he’s actually a raging bisexual (though he remains in fierce denial about that)

Then you have Flat-Top, who is also a raging bisexual, though he’s known for much longer and is much more at peace with it (also partly C.B.’s responsibility)

After the championship and seeing how GB had treated Rusty Flat-Top got over his crush on him and as a result relaxed a bit more around him and the Gang, not taking all their shit out of desperation to be included anymore, which ended in him actually becoming their real friend instead of a pushover

And particularly him and Tank grow pretty close, hanging out a lot together, just the two of them, the attraction is there, and maybe some actual feelings on top of that 👀💦

They’re both in fierce denial though, and the rest of the Gang and GB being oblivious idiots none of them has a clue

(Dustin and C.B. see it though, and try to get Flat-Top and Tank to see it too: Dustin through gentle encouragement, C.B. through subtle but relentless teasing)
